Negative experience: Signed up to a 6 month membership paid up front recently and have not been able to access the gym. I read there was a fire there recently which is unfortunate but the owner of the gym has turned off all phone numbers and does not respond to any form of communication. Am now trying to recoup my money somehow. Best avoid this gym for the foreseeable future. Edit: The owner Jesse reached out to me today (04/11) providing an update on the situation. The fire was a traumatic experience for him and he’s taken a few days to disconnect which is fair. He says refunds will start being processed in the coming weeks and he gets access to his accounts again after his laptop was also caught up in the fire. Will have another edit once I receive my refund. Just thought everyone who has also been in the dark would benefit from this update as well.

Fantastic experience: I have loved going to this gym for the last couple of years. It is really clean and well managed, and the attention to detail is excellent, and some of the quirky aspects of the place have not gone unnoticed on me. Every week there are subtle improvements and efforts to make the place better and more fun. It also has the right amount of grunge that makes me feel like I am in an 90s industrial warehouse workout video and this seems to really get me in a good workout mood. I would Recommend highly for the general gymgoer who wants that kind of raw and affordable, but well maintained gym experience.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to leave a quick review for the gym in Brunswick ‘Gym Retro’. I’ve lived in the area for years and had previously gone to other gyms in Brunswick but never here. I’m back briefly from living OS and thought I would try it out. It’s a great place, all the gear you need in a gym and I’ve meet Jessie the owner twice now and he is a lovely guy as well. It is very inclusive of everyone as well (feels safe). Hopefully this review helps someone looking for an option for gym in Brunswick. (It’s also really fairly priced as well!)

A very inclusive space suitable for those that are just starting out or those that are more experienced.

Fantastic experience: Very good gym. The staff is very helpful and genuine. The gym has everything you need for your workout. The location is very good, near the tram station. And the price for the gym isn't expensive. I am happy with my experience at fittox.

Fantastic experience: Cheap casual rate is a huge draw card! Worth the money when you only want to use the treadmill on a cold wet day, machines/equipment great. Staff friendly. Great gym if you don’t want to pay huge $$

Positive experience: Good gym, has most of what you need for a reasonable price (although it's creeping up). would be better if opening hours were longer or 24h - opening at 6am doesn't really give the option of going before work for tradesmen. Weekends also not open long enough - Opens late and closes early.

Fantastic experience: Gyms are usually about as exciting as a doctors office, but I immediately felt at home at Fittox. It's not crowded, the staff are super friendly, the music is great, it's cheap and the other gyms members are also really relaxed. There's no posing or posturing - everyone's minding their own business and being considerate of each others space. The gym equipment is pretty dated, but that's a small concession for such a great gym.

Fantastic experience: Best kept secret little gym in Brunswick. Hey Google, can I give this place 7 stars please! First off and important for my motivation, its SUPER CHEAP - how do they do it?? Second, the whole vibe is down to earth and friendly. Super non judgy. I'd almost say daggy, (cos I'm a dag ;-) but I don't want to put you off. So let's just say Jessie and Suzy are keepin' it real. Third, never too crowded. Fourth the other clients are real people too, no wankers, buff heads or gym snobs. I always feel good at this place and consequently find it easy to keep coming back to - motivation and low barriers to entry are super important for gym use. What more can I say, 110% recommend.

The gym is really cool New York warehouse retro style Gym With a great feel no beef heads no one is up themselves it is ultra comfortable - I Just love it . You can be yourself in a stress less easy going environment which is great fun and you can even get great coffee for $2 proper coffee Costa Rica lavazza and Brazil and great gym food .

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to gym for four years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. It's a down to earth gym with an amazing atmosphere and better yet, filled with great people. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help out if you have any questions. Special shout out to Jessie (the owner) who is a great guy and Suzie who makes this gym what it is. If you live within the area and are looking for a gym to join then this is the one you should join.
