Goodlife Health Clubs Bardon, located in Brisbane, is a vibrant gym known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Many members appreciate the community vibe, highlighting the supportive environment fostered by both staff and other gym-goers. The club features a spacious layout with a wide range of well-maintained equipment, catering to all types of workouts, and ensures there is always room to train comfortably, even during peak hours.
Guests love the outdoor training area and the convenience of ample parking. The variety of group fitness classes and the availability of personal trainers also receive positive feedback, making it easier for members to find options that suit their fitness goals.
However, some reviews mention concerns about cleanliness in certain areas, outdated equipment, and specific staff interactions that have left some members feeling undervalued. Issues regarding membership management and opaque cancellation processes have also been highlighted, which detracts from the overall experience for some users.
Despite these drawbacks, the club continues to stand out as a solid choice for fitness enthusiasts in the area, offering a unique blend of community support and excellent facilities.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are incredibly friendly and always willing to help, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The gym offers a wide range of well-maintained equipment, catering to all types of workouts. Its spacious layout ensures there's plenty of room, even during busy times. Parking is convenient
Thank you for your wonderful review, Grace! We're thrilled to hear that you’ve had a positive experience with our friendly staff and the gym’s facilities. It’s great to know the spacious layout and convenient parking are adding to your experience as well. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and look forward to supporting your fitness journey!
Fantastic experience: Great gym - first went in 2005 whilst visiting parents on uni break. After a decade in WA I purposefully signed up at Bardon when returning to Brisvegas. Atmosphere is good for working out and its in a nice, quiet area. Recommend if youre in the area and looking for a solid gym.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Rowan! We're so glad to have you back after all these years and appreciate your recommendation. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoy the atmosphere at Bardon and find it a great place to work out. We're happy to be part of your fitness journey once again and look forward to seeing you around!
Negative experience: Dirty toilets, broken machines, bad loud music. Old, very old. Can't wait until my membership expires in December to move to another gym.
Hi Mohamed, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're feeling this way and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate a membership under that name. Could you please reach out to us via social media so we can follow up? Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Members and staff are very friendly
Thank you for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear that you find our members and staff friendly. We strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you at the gym!
Fantastic experience: Out of all the clubs, this one is the best. Outdoor area, great equipment and seems to be newer than the other clubs.
Thank you for the great review, Ryan. We are pleased to hear that you're loving the club. If there's anything else we can do to make your time with us even better, please don't hesitate to let us know by calling us on 1300 393 733 or reaching out directly via social media.
Fantastic experience: Enjoy the sense of community this club offers. The staff are all very friendly and always offer a smile and a Hello when I walk in. Not all places to so
Wooohooo, thank you Tracey! We love having you a part of our community.
Fantastic experience: Love this gym!
Yay! So great to hear, Amanda.
Negative experience: I’ve been a member here for almost 1 year. When I first visited I liked the outdoor training area and the traditional feel of the gym. I thought the pool could be a useful addition. Over time the traditional feel felt old. There has been no effort to make any improvements to the gym in my time as a member here. As I write this I’m looking at 4 leaking areas of the ceiling, with buckets scattered among the benches and squat racks. This has been a consistent issue. The sign should read: “don’t drop the weights, don’t bring your bags out, and always wear shoes…and please ignore the safety hazards that exist because we can’t be bothered to fix them”. I won’t get started on the flooding in the men’s change room from the showers into the dressing area. Like many gyms, people don’t put their weights away, and these people are a plight on society. It’s compounded at Goodlife Bardon because it seems that staff don’t monitor the floor and re-rack or reorganise anything. Right now I count 13 x 20kg plates on 1 of the squat racks. That’s a little heavy even for me. Some other points to note: - There is no natural light in the downstairs weights floor and it can feel soulless. - It’s not 24/7 access but you still pay as if it was. - the outdoor gym area only opens at 7am, which is fair because there are houses close by but it makes it kind of useless to me because of when I train (YouTube says workouts only count if you get up at 5am). - it’s very important to one of the PT’s that your towel is perfectly covering the equipment you’re using. He should invest more effort in being good at his job or getting in shape. Because he’s neither. (In truth he’s only knocked me a couple times, but each time he scolds like I’m a child. It stings because I’m not a child, so I’ll hold this grudge forever. Benefit of the doubt - the environment isn’t a nice one so maybe he’s sore about it). The equipment is old but there is nothing wrong with it, 20kg is still 20kg. The staff are decent and I’ve got no gripe with them (except for the fellow I mention above). The flaws listed above in isolation don’t make or break a gym. But the compounding effect results in a gym that is subpar compared to its competition and too expensive for what it is. I do not recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: My happy place. I’ve been at Bardon Goodlife for over 8 years and I love the club and its great community. I love the group fitness classes and PT.
Fantastic experience: Close to home, great location, staff, classes and equipment...
Positive experience: Great welcoming staff. Atmosphere is relaxed but attentive.
Fantastic experience: Good looking girls all over the place
Negative experience: Very rude customer service call centre people dealing with payment, who hung up on members.
Negative experience: Cannot believe this gym doesn't have a decline table that is the most basic equipment!!!!!
Fantastic experience: To the guy at reception who said he liked my hair, that made my day. Two handsome and very nice lads at reception.
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Gyms offer a great range of choices in the way you improve your fitness, from group classes to availing yourself of a personal trainer, to using a fantastic array of gym equipment as well as a swimming pool (at my location). I have availed myself of all options but especially enjoy the group classes for their variety and the quality of the trainers. Go for it people. It's a private health insurance policy that is worth the weekly cost, the benefits of which will last you well into the future!
Negative experience: This is the first time I've written a bad review. My experience at Bardon GoodLife was very disappointing in several ways. The ceilings are mouldy. They did replace one mouldy panel in one of the rooms after I notified them, but mould is still visible on the ACs and the stretch room ceiling. It was pretty dirty. The machines were dusty in areas that weren't being wiped by gym goers. The walls were grubby, particularly in the women's only room. One good thing I can say. The trainers are friendly and the class teachers were good. When I tried to cancel they did not make it easy. They overcharged me for the final period. When I disputed it they denied knowledge of what was in my contract. It wasn't worth my time and energy taking it any further for the $15 or so that they were overcharging me, and they knew it.
Negative experience: Emma is very unprofessional, would not recommend
Negative experience: Complete rip off... Unbale to cancel my subscription even though I am moving to a place with no Goodlife clubs around. Cancelation fees are $245! I have been going to the Bardon club for more than 12 months, but I reduced my subscription to a smaller one 6 months ago which was very difficult to do by the way. I had to redo it 3 times as you kept charging me more than you should have, because your staff kept failing at processing the changes. This is a very poor customer service and business strategy. One thing you don't realise is that perhaps you are collecting money from your abusive cancelation fees, but you are creating a bad reputation and cutting any bridges with potential returning customers. Will never go back. Will definitely let people know.
Fantastic experience: Good environment. People from different ages join this club. Everyone is respectful and supportive. Staff is friendly and attentive. It's the biggest goodlife. However is not 24/7.
Positive experience: Bardon Goodlife Gym is a secret gem. It has been my base gym and favourite Goodlife gym for over 21 years. I like the location, easy access and the fact there are plenty of carparks. The staff team are professional, helpful and positive including those on the front desk as well as the instructors. Bardon's facilities include an excellent main class area as well as separate gym and warm up spaces, a physiotherapist and a beautiful pool area. It's community atmosphere is wonderful!
Fantastic experience: I attend the yoga classes at Bardon. Ron is an amazing yoga teacher, probably the best you could find. This is a great gym.
Fantastic experience: A great club with top-notch customer service! Lots of parking.
Positive experience: It's an ok place. Fits the purpose if you want to lift some weight. However, they close at 8pm, when you are working full time and can only arrive around 6pm, it's very busy! Quite old equipment as well. Classes are in the most weird times, so, unfortunately, even that it's the closest unit to my place, it will not be the one I will be using the most...but don't get me wrong, again, if you just want to go and lift weights, it will be ok for you.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, lots of variety in group classes and awesome instructors who make you feel included from day 1 of your fitness journey. Highly recommend!
Positive experience: I joined this gym 24 years ago. I love the aerobics and cycling classes and the feeling of community. Unfortunately, instructors are not been paid well enough and lately some of the classes have been removed.
Positive experience: Good gym with a variety of equipment. My main gym doesn't have a pool, so that was a plus. It would be nice if there was a water fountain downstairs, like there is one upstairs.
Fantastic experience: I love Goodlife Bardon gym. Their trainers are fantastic, the overall vibe is excellent, and I have had nothing but good experiences.
Fantastic experience: Plenty of equipment always available. Lots of space. Has a swimming pool and great classes. Good price. Warm greeting at the door.
Fantastic experience: Love the classes, plenty of options and good times available. Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and offer technique support for those who require it. Definitely would love to see flexibility offered at evening classes and on weekends it is an amazing class.
Fantastic experience: At 62 a working Mum with teenager and caring help of elderly parent motivation is hard at times. The gentle persistence of the 3 monthly PT session was so helpful, the PT staff wise and respectful and focused on helping me 100%. I needed that effort to help me re-engage.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Goodlife Bardon for many years and have always really appreciated the friendly staff and great instructors. I try to do a class every morning. A few months ago we moved to interim accommodation whilst waiting for our new home to be complete. I have used this opportunity to try out a number of different Good Life gyms including Bardon, Jindalee, Indooroopilly and West End. I can’t say how impressed I am with all of them. The instructors are so professional but bring a lovely sense of humour to every class . They are always so helpful welcoming any questions etc at the end of the lessons and suggest moderations to make it easier. No one is made to feel awkward or out of place regardless of your level of fitness or age. I am 70 and doing the classes regularly plays such an important part in my health and well being. Did I mention that it is ridiculously cheap? If you really use it that it. Thanks Good Life
Positive experience: Good sized club, plenty of morning classes, and easy to find a park.
Positive experience: Overall a good experience, particularly like the outdoor space. Just needs an assault bike and higher pullup bars to be perfect
Negative experience: I joined this club to use the pool facility, which was understandably affected by the floods but now 5* months later is still completely out of use with no estimate as to when it will be back (with staff skilfully evading the question). Of course have signed a contract that cannot get out of despite the facility which was my sole intention for the membership (as discussed when I signed) being unusable. And then when they call to 'get my feedback on the club' or 'see if i'd like to join' (good record keeping) and I mention this, I get an awkward sorry with no intention to rectify. I do not recommend.
Negative experience: Beware of the hidden charges an extra $39+ every quarter for personal trainer and when wanted to end my membership I had to pay for another “ 4” weeks BUT !!! after 4 weeks I received a phone call while I was flat out at work and you wouldn’t read about it, I owe for a further ?2 weeks “ that supposedly had not been -paid- “. I hit the roof! When I checked my Bank statements, all payments had been made on time and they had charged me dis-honour fees of $9.99 for the first 3 weeks then 1 of $10.00 for the last. The “DEBT COLLECTOR” who called with his quick suggestion that I pay him a further $44.16 over the phone using my credit card, was offended by being sworn at. Well try a combat situation MAN! Defence can be offensive!
Fantastic experience: Great gym with a friendly atmosphere. The staff are always welcoming, the aircon is always spot on (great in summer) and the gym itself is spacious and well set up.
Fantastic experience: A gym with excellent parking, friendly staff and a huge gym that means there is lots of room to work out in many area's, and a huge choice of different gym equipment. Excellent personal trainers to help with fitness and workout skills. I workout all year long, and yes I use all area's to help keep a high fitness level. I love this gym. Anne M
Fantastic experience: Large area with plenty of equipment, staff are helpful and the facilities are spotless. I actually enjoy coming here.
Hello Kevin, thank you; we appreciate your feedback! Looking forward to seeing you next time.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Pools a bonus.
Hi Katlin, we are very happy we could provide you with a positive experience! See you during your next session
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and very professional
Hello Julie, thank you; we appreciate your feedback! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!
Fantastic experience: What a gym, seriously. Such a great size, high qual equipment. In the midst of covid last year I went in search of what else is out there in brisbane gym wise.. and it’s only made me appreciate bardon goodlife that much more. Love it.
Hi Thomas, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Goodlife Health Clubs Bardon. We're happy you enjoyed your visit! We're looking forward to your next visit with us! Take care!
Fantastic experience: Great aqua lovely teacher Bronwyn
Hello Maureen, thank you for sharing your positive experience! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional we can do for you. Have a great day!
Negative experience: I asked them to put my membership on hold indefinitely in 2020 until further notice as I am interstate. I have been billed the whole time up until Aug 2021... they refuse to give refund. Also their equipment and building is very old . There are many better gyms around for the money.
Hi Juan, we work hard to provide a fantastic experience to everyone. Please let us know how we can help from here, to ensure you and others receive great experience each visit. Our club manager would really like to speak with you more regarding this matter. Please reach out to us at (07) 3506 3100We look forward to hearing from you.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym in a great location. Good selection of equipment.
Hi Phillip, thank you for sharing your positive experience! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Negative experience: I am a member of the Bardon club was really disappointed that they took away facilities being the squash court with no consultation with members it was one of the reasons I joined and used it every week. I will leave the club once my membership is finished because of this.
Positive experience: Very friendly. Love aqua and active adults. Poll could be cleaner.
Fantastic experience: Hopefully if I reply to this, Google will stop asking, and I never take my phone in anyway. Have been coming to this club for over a decade and now Google wants me to rate it almost every day.
Negative experience: They keep taking money out of your bank account even though you’ve cancelled your membership. Make sure you cancel the payments with your bank or get your bank to block them! This is a kind of stealth, in our opinion!
Positive experience: AC DOES NOT WORK ON Sunday, it is way too hot.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. A very clean and safe space to work out ..
Negative experience: The gym is fine. But I have been trying to cancel since July as I moved out of area and money was still coming out of my account. Staff have been throwing multiple excuses at me for this, and arguing that I am not entitled to a full refund due to semantics and their own incompetence. It has completely soured the Goodlife experience and I won't be joining another one and will be sharing this trash experience with others.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and good facilities including outdoor training and pool
Fantastic experience: Goodlife is one of the best gyms I've been to and I've gone to plenty the facilities and staff are wonderful! If your a person who likes to do classes there are many great ones to choose from. They have a pool and plenty of PT's ready to help
Fantastic experience: The best atmosphere of all the goodlife I've visited, everybody is so warm and kind. The team here got me onto a wonderful rehab program for my back with their on site physios and I have never felt so supported!
Fantastic experience: Great classes
Negative experience: Let's just say customer service and modern equipment and facilities are not their strong suit.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym
Fantastic experience: All good
Fantastic experience: Got a pool, nice outdoor training area, squash court etc. Awesome facility great trainers and staff
Fantastic experience: Great equipment well laid out gym that is light and bright.
Positive experience: Great club and big chain of gyms . Have lots of gyms around Australia. However do not sign up paying bills over a fortnight. Just stick with weekly payments as when you are about to quit no matter what they will still deduct fortnight payments even a day before your contract ends. So you pay extra for no reason and will let you use gym for extra week in lieu of that. But greedy management!!
Fantastic experience: Lovely Pool and Outdoor area plus a Squash Court
Fantastic experience: Great people
Fantastic experience: Love the atmosphere and great friendly staffs
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Fantastic experience: Out of the way but well equipped!
Fantastic experience: Best good life gym
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Fantastic experience: Best gym in Brisbane!
Fantastic experience: This is my favourite Goodlife Club by far. It has a chilled and comfortable vibe, all the equipment you need, a ladies area that is air conditioned and well-equipped, a gorgeous pool and outdoor area and has really good opening hours. It's an older building but great welcoming atmosphere and facilities.
Fantastic experience: High quality gym with great equioment
Positive experience: Great facilities...good community vibe
Positive experience: Nao entrei
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and always plenty of parking
Negative experience: I signed up for the 5 day free pass to try out some of the classes and facilities at goodlife Bardon based on a friends recommendation. Once I arrived at the Gym I was told that a condition of the pass was that I speak to a staff member about my membership options. Once I explained I wasn't in a position to sign up immediately, it became a really uncomfortable experience and the staff member screamed desperation for the sale. I explained I'd be happy to pay the casual rate over the next 2 months until I can sign up, however that apparently wasn't acceptable. He took great offence that I didn't take advantage of his "sale" and told me that the 5 day free pass was off the table for me and I would not be able to use it. Their website says "this 5 day membership is the perfect way for you to discover all that we have to offer". Well they sure showed me what they had to offer!
Positive experience: Saving grace for this place is its free weights area outside, which is fantastic, and the staff. It is a chain gym, so don't expect too much, but people are friendly, and the outdoor are ais worth the membership fee if you can get it cheap during one of their many membership sales. Need to take better care of the pool
Positive experience: Its not a busy Gym and great classes
Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Very friendly, always helpful, comfortable. Small account issues, they've always been handled promptly and receptively.
Fantastic experience: Great Saturday and Monday yoga class
Positive experience: Good facilities. Great staff. Plenty to do. Good value.
Fantastic experience: Great team staff :) and now after the renovation is looking amazingly stunning
Negative experience: Robbed of over $850 out of my bank account, in the process of legal action against Goodlife to recover my money. I deal with similar cases and have been through the contract documentation. I can only say what they do is illegal and nothing short of thieving.
Fantastic experience: It was just so fun!
Negative experience: Very poor administration and communication. Unknown charges on my credit card that they have not been able to provide invoices/ sufficient explanation. Have to recover charges via my bank. It's not rocket science guys. Just explain the reason for each charge... oh and when I point out that according to your contract you over charged me, have the decency to respond.
Negative experience: Awful. Do not care one bit about the pool, neglect the older population who solely use the pool. Absolutely poor customer service and management towards complaints and no responsibility taken.
Fantastic experience: Trialed thinking it would be one of those class focused, treadmill/elliptical only gyms. I was pleasantly surprised. They have recently upgraded the equipment and have a great free weights area. They also have a row of power cages and bumper plates outdoors undercover. The membership pricing varies depending on what day of the week you sign up, but seems to be average for the area.
Positive experience: All brand new Techno Gym equipment
Fantastic experience: I fell in love with Goodlife gym at Bardon it is a brilliant place to train. (1) The management are top people, people such as Dallas will listen and meet every issue you may have. (2) The admin staff Jackie, Sophie, Craig, Charlie etc are friendly professional people (3) The new weights room and cardio equipment is really very good. (4) The trainers are a highly motivated professional lot and a pleasure to have in the gym. I prefer it to the 24 hour gyms for these very reasons. If you get a chance go and see for yourself 5 stars. Probably the best customer service in a gym I have ever received.
Positive experience: Best yoga sessions. Rescued me!
Fantastic experience: No competition for unlocked 24/7 gym platforms.. will need to up the standard and increase the opening hours to have any chance in the market moving forward
Positive experience: Weights room is pretty basic. 3x benches in the free weights section, 1x squat rack and the machines are spread out over 2 levels. 1x squash court and a small pool. Came before work on a weekday and it was quiet with only 5 or so in this area.
Negative experience: played squash here they charged $20 per person to play what a joke
