Negative experience: Be prepared for what you signup for. Staff is friendly initially, however post signup service is crap. When its their mistake staff shy away from giving their name and often play the blame game. Lack of customer service by some of their staff.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Roar for 6.5 years now and I love it! The classes have such a great atmosphere, all the people are friendly and the huge winner for me is the crèche. Mel & Mac go above & beyond for the kiddies by providing a comforting environment, all the cool craft activities they do & more. My girls love it. So happy to be apart of this gym :)

Fantastic experience: I love this Gym. The vibe is fantastic. The classes are absolutely amazing. Reformer is the hardest workout I’ve ever done and Tahnee makes the class go by so quickly she is awesome.!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely in love with Roar Fitness Canning Vale It has some of the greatest great facilities, best classes and love all the friends I have made since coming here. As some areas are still under construction, it's going to be very interesting to see what they do with the main Lobby/ Foyer... looking forward to the lounges and drinks after classes and the businesses around the area are always glad to see me or any of my Roar friends when we venture around after training, so it's a good little area (The Vale @ Southern River), to hang out in also. I am a big time user of the Recovery Room, so I bought the Diamond Black Premium membership to get unlimited access to everything, best decision of my life honestly, because I spend most of my week here If you wanna do Pilates, Zumba, maybe some dancing with the group fitness like Konga or Zumba, I definetly recommend it. Everyone is really friendly, loves being here and pushes themselves really well. As a Combat Sports Rising Star, Private Chef and Lead Driver both in Esports and sometimes out and about I need all the exercise I can get! Club and Community means a lot to me, as do clean, well kept equipment and areas. The main action is daytime only, but as it is 24/7 you can even come and work out at night and do stuff that you don't usually want people to see, ie; my fight training, erotic dancing or naughty exercises. Overall best gym experience in Canning Vale so far, LLL_LOVE IT!!!! The staff are the sweetest treasures too, love our brief chats and its so exiting now that many babies are coming into the World soon . The trainers are always on point with their sessions. I'm already committed to my own group of trainers outside of the gym, but I love seeing other members pushing themselves, during their sessions and genuinely euphoric seeing them get fitter, healthier and better

Positive experience: Hi there, I have been to this gym with one of my clients as a support worker and im not to sure what it is. But it kind of feels not welcoming. Im not sure if it's because of the renovations that's happening. But sometimes theres no one at the front desk when you enter the front door. The upstairs area doesn't have much machine weights like down stairs, but the cardio equipment is up stairs. So, you have to do your warm up, upstairs then go down stairs to use more weight machines if you need to. Some of the staff are quite nice. But the vibe is kind of off, just being honest. Hopefully it improves with the new refurbishment. #HappyDaysOTG

Negative experience: Absolutely disappointed with their customer services(Roar fitness Canning Vale) Specially with new management it is absolutely bad. I don’t recommend. I came back after a while I’ve been member with them and they didn’t care and their answer not really professional.

Positive experience: I had a positive experience at roar fitness. The facility is clean, well-organized, and has a good variety of equipment. Georgia at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about the Roar Active Crèche at Canning Vale. Mel and the team are just brilliant. They go above and beyond from making the kids feel comfortable being left without mum or dad, assisting with last minute bookings to the amazing craft activities they squeeze into the sessions. My children always look forward to an outing to the Canning Vale Roar Active Crèche which makes my gym workouts far more enjoyable as I have no worries that my children are happy and having fun. Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Roar Active Canning Vale for a few years now. I love training in the gym. The whole vibe of the place is great - its my happy place. However my best part is doing classes in the recently renovated pilates studio. A shout out to one of my favourite pilates instructors Tahnee who is just amazing. It is always a great doing a class with Tahnee - you are always guaranteed an amazing session.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended Roar Canning Vale. The crèche is fantastic, all the ladies working there are so caring and lovely. My son has been going for 6 years and enjoys it every time he is there. It means that I can fully concentrate on exercising without having to think or worry about him. The classes and instructors are wonderful. All the classes I have tried have been fun, challenging and tailored in a way for all abilities.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Roar Active Canning Vale for a couple of years now, and I absolutely love it! The gym offers a variety of classes like yoga, Body Balance, and reformer Pilates, all of which I really enjoy. After the recent renovations, the place looks fantastic—it’s modern, spacious, and has a great atmosphere. The vibe here is always positive, and the instructors are top-notch. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for a couple of months now, and it’s been a really positive experience. I used to go to a dedicated Pilates studio, so I wasn’t sure how the Pilates classes at a gym would compare. But I’ve been really impressed with both the instructors and the facilities. The equipment is great, and the classes vary each time, so I never get bored with the same routine Abby, who signed me up, was also really helpful and made the whole process really easy

Fantastic experience: I have been with roar active for the past few years and hands down the best gym I have been a part of not only are the staff friendly and welcoming but the women at the creche are amazing, I have two children from the age's of 3 and 2, my son can be a handful at times and the staff in the creche are absolutely amazing and are so patient with him. Fantastic experience: The gym itself is awesome. Staff are friendly and helpful and has all the Facilities The creche is my favourite part of Roar Canning Vale. My three children have been going Monday - Friday for the past year and they all love it. The staff are amazing and accomodating. Fantastic experience: Best gym and best trainer EVER! I started my weight loss journey in July 2023 with Gemma Fanchetti as my trainer. I was 112 kgs, and I had no faith that I could lose weight or get healthy because I lacked the motivation and desire to change. I was visiting Perth for a few months, so I decided to try Roar Canning Vale. The gym itself was modern, clean, and equipped with the best and most up-to-date equipment. This is where I met my coach, Gemma, who had faith in me when I didn’t even have faith in myself. I would struggle to walk upstairs to the training area because my back would hurt, and I would be out of breath just from walking into the gym. Gemma encouraged me, and best of all, she was always patient, starting with baby steps and not overwhelming me with jargon, crash diets, or endless hours of cardio. I had some knowledge of working out from my time in the armed forces when I was younger, but Gemma truly educated me on what fitness really means, what having a healthy relationship with food looks like, and armed me with the knowledge to make better choices. Today, I live on the East Coast, and I’m down to 89 kgs, having reduced my body fat by 18% in just over a year. Gemma and Roar truly saved my life and lifted me up when I was down and out. Thank you so much, Gemma, for changing my life for the better and giving me my life back. I can never thank you enough for all you’ve done. Hands down, the best trainer ever!”

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere from staff and members is always positive and upbeat. The brand new recovery space is amazing and I'm loving attending the reformer pilates classes. Gym equipment is well maintained and gym floor is clean and tidy. They are currently doing renovations (which are looking amazing) but they are working around everything so that nothing within the gym is disturbed. I absolutely love this gym and would recommend it to anyone!

Despite informing the staff that I would be overseas for two months, I was charged the full fee instead of just the account holding fee as promised. Now they require a 30-day notice to cancel, which wasn’t communicated clearly. Wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone.

Positive experience: Awesome place to do light/heavy workout. Lots of equipments and friendly staffs and best parts are they do give you a quick checkup call to see how’s your experience is with the place while other gyms doesn’t do these calls. But the entrance tag is kinda pricey wasn’t expecting it to cost $40 plus when you join the gym extra $24 but only when you join depending on which one you pick price might change. So far it’s been great tbh

Fantastic experience: Ive been at Roar for 1 year now. I love the small family vibe the canning vale gym gives. They listen to member feedback and actioned it promptly. The star area of the gym is creche. Melissa & Mak are AMAZING. Always greeted with a warm smile. They are very empathetic, Friendly, profressional, knowledgeable and very attentive / gentle to my 2 boys. They are the only reason i am able to workout! I can rave about them all day.

Negative experience: I went to Roar Fitness gym in Canning Vale to get my entry tag. On my first visit one month ago, they priced the tag at $40. However, I mentioned that my wife got the same tag two days earlier for $20. They then offered me the tag for $30 and said that if I could show them the transaction of $20, they will give it to me for that price. I returned today with a screenshot showing the $20 we paid for the same tag, but the staff on duty refused and said they would now charge me $60. My concern is why they charge different prices for the same tag. I'm continuously paying my membership via Fitness Passport, and I find this situation very frustrating.
Negative experience: Treat their staff with no respect. no given reason as to why they are no longer required. Management needs a wake-up call.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Roar for many years now. Although I enjoy the facilities and equipment at Roar.. the best part is having peace of mind with the incredible creche team! Mel & Mak especially are the kindest ladies and always make myself and my husband feel 100% comfortable leaving our kids with them so that we can workout. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend if all the Mums out there are looking for safe place for the kiddos. Can't fault the creche one bit, Mel runs a lovely space for the kids. Plenty of activities throughout the year with arts and crafts. Very welcoming of special needs children and caters for what is needed to make children feel comfortable and welcome.

Negative experience: what a pathetic staff !!! just joined as a member today, poor service, unhelpful, rude, unprofessional, not trained how to deal with customers. Charged more than what I was told “prices changed in 2 weeks” however, staff has no idea about corporate discount but have full knowledge about overpricing. Would definitely quit soon following required notice period. ! Just noted similar attitude issues in previous reviews by community members, They won’t improve!!! as they don’t even try to improve. Will highly recommend to explore some other better gym options. Update!!! phone call from The Manager next day after seeing the review on google & that phone call answers my question that why staff is so untrained on customer service and wouldn’t improve…. ‘The Manager’ had the same attitude towards customer service or satisfaction, went on winging about the google review, with no intention to work on customer service rather. Manager would like me to quit gym (which I happily accepted) rather than working on their shortcomings!!! This explains why they have been persistently gaining 1 star reviews for the last 2 years
Positive experience: Good gym, but if there are no staff on, there is no air-con on. I used to always come on Sundays, no aircon is on because there is no staff working - and this was when there were 40 degree days. I also go after work om Fridays, same thing. It's uncomfortable and hard to enjoy a workout with no air flow. I used to go to roar bibra lake, air-con was on 24/7. Great location, great gym equipment.
Negative experience: Yet again members find themselves waiting well over a month to have the broken cables repaired, and despite a promise months ago that cable attachments would be replenished - there are still hardly any. Members have now resorted to bringing a can of silicone spray in their gym bags to address sticking components (Smith machine and height adjusters on cable machines). Too many competitors to be lazy guys..

Negative experience: The gym has great equipment. That's about where it ends. The staff look like young kids who have no interest in customer service. Unhelpful and just laze around when there is SO MUCH that needs to happen. For example, the place is filthy and the wet wipes are never replaced unless I myself go downstairs and ask them to do so. How about getting one of the many front staff to stay upstairs and monitor the people and equipment? It would go a long way to ensure that people put their equipment away, and that they actually wipe it down. I very rarely see people wiping down equipment. RARELY. It's disgusting. Oh, and how about a regular window clean in front of the treadmills please? I'm tired of looking at the same crusty sweat, snot and spit every time I'm there week after week. Also, it's a great place to work out if you like working out in a sauna. I know that Perth is hot, but come on, fix the air con please. It's like a sauna in there, which is great if that's what you're after. See above point, people don't wipe their equipment down, please don't make them sweat any more than is necessary. Thank you for fixing the water fountain finally after months of having to fill my water bottle from a tap in front of the men's toilet. Also, the second spin bike on the main floor has been broken for months. I'm tired of reporting it. No sign up, ages to fix it. Can't be that hard. Guys, you've got a great location, great equipment, great classes and a creche. Do better in the other aspects please. I've read other review responses where you say there's renovations. Other than moving some equipment around, I've not seen anything major done. aircon no. 1 priority please. no.2: proactive staff. Thank you.

Negative experience: would really appreciate it if you guys stopped funding these 100+ classes/rooms renovations and focused on getting new attachments for all the cable machines. I now have taken it upon myself to buy my own attachments and keep them in my bag. This issue has been ongoing for over a year now and we are all sick of it. I would rather pay extra money to go to Bibra lake and train there, atleast they have all the equipment that everyone needs. If you’re reading this and thinking about joining this gym, just remember that you get treated like royalty if you’re only here for the classes or the yoga/pilates studios, for any free weight and or machine user… don’t even for second think we’ll ever get new equipment funded to us.

Negative experience: Ongoing issues with their app, booking classes and unhelpful staff (sometimes clueless). The main reason why I joined Roar fitness was because of the classes they offer. Every since they changed to their new app I have been having numerous troubles- which is fine but I have reached out via text, email and in person however no one has seem to know what’s going on or give me any solutions. I have presented again yesterday in person to ask about booking pilates session on the app- staff doesn’t seem to know or give me a straight answer on which to book as I does not show on my app as “pilates” like before. They then pointed to one of the membership pack that I apparently have to buy to access pilates- I have told then that the price I was told ($28) and the prices on my app is different ($35)- when asked about these the staff just said “yea that’s what I thought too, do you want to email that to us?” When I presented to the gym in person because of the same reason. No solution given on the spot- emailed and no answer. When I was enquiring about the Pilates I was getting numerous phone calls from them to upgrade my membership- and now that I’m having trouble- nothing.
Positive experience: Nice gym good facilities and lovely staff..pity some of the members have 0 gym etiquette. people leave weights on the machine and the floor without putting it back (same few culprits) and also never wipe down equipment leaving sweat patches... Roar cockburn has a much better crowd so will be training there moving forward.
Negative experience: Good equipment, facilities, calsses and nice gym to workout. But there are no signs to pick up weights after yourself and put it back after use. After I complained a few weeks ago and ask that they should put up signs or have a chat to the members who leave the gym like this time after time but just basically ignored me. I think its becoming a health and safety issue. I train early morning and they say they dont have anyone their at night to pick up the weights. When members complain in the morning, surely day staff could go through video footage and see what member swiped their card and have a chat with them but they say thats too much work to do.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at roar for about 6 years. I use both canning vale and cockburn clubs and all my children have all loved going to the creche. The ladies at the creche are fantastic and you can workout knowing your little ones are happy and safe. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend roar to all the mums out there.

My youngest daughter has been to several different crèches and this is by far the best experience we’ve had so far! She’s not upset when I leave her and talks about going every day.

Negative experience: I have been a member with Roar Cockburn for over 2 years but recently been treated unfairly. I am currently 25weeks pregnant and could not go to gym due to my backpain my OB has provided a Medical Certificate to suspend my membership but the receptionist Keri and Kiwi lady have not been very helpful. I have been so loyal to this gym but the way they treated me is so unreasonable not to mention they have poor customer service and do not offer other alternative classes for me and they cancel PT appointments last minute, when I wanted to book for Pilates class. Would not recommend going here!

Negative experience: Since the renovation they have gotten rid of a lot of good machines and not replaced them , before you had an option of training downstairs if upstairs was to busy , now everybody trains downstairs and there is really no equipment upstairs, they had a lot of machines for chest , now all gone , no ezy curl bars , worst of all everyone is in the 1 area so you’re waiting on equipment and this is at 9am , it’s a shame used to be a good gym,

We had a lot of requests for more functional space and we have all new equipment in the club which most members are wrapped about. Fantastic experience: My 11yo loves the pre-teen crossfit class with Marek and Alex! Both of them are in tune with kids and get on with the class so well. They are very encouraging and the kids always leave exhausted but happy. Great value for $15 a class.

Negative experience: Can’t have any more bad experience! People are just behind money and they don’t care about individual who has paid the membership fee and is on a medical break. The trainer doesn’t seem to understand the condition of the person even after explaining the history of health, asked to perform exercises that caused disc bulge and in turn a bed rest for 4 weeks. During the sign up process we weren’t told that a 30 days notice needs to be provided for the cancellation of membership and this doesn’t stop. After the initial 3 months of medical break the admin calls up and says that we have to pay some money for the period where we did not utilised the facility. What kind of customers do you expect? Highly unfair administration.

Negative experience: I have been a member of the sauna for the past year and have enjoyed it. In the past when an appointment was made the staff ensured the sauna was ready to go. Recently I’ve come across a reception staff by the name Bethany who is very negligent and with a careless attitude. When I went in I realised that it hadn’t been turned on and I’m wasting my time inside the sauna .This mistake has been repeatedly done by this staff member. I hope the management talks to this staff member and rectify it so doesn’t happen in future with other customers. The quality of service provided and the attitude of your staff is a direct reflection on your brand and having staff members of this caliber with a negligent attitude won’t do any good to your brand. However it must be mentioned that there are some reception staff like Claire who provides exceptional service and with a friendly attitude.
