EMF Performance Centre North Lakes

Positive experience: I’ve been a member of EMF North Lakes for a while now, and overall, I really enjoy the space and equipment available. The gym is well-equipped, and I particularly love the sauna – it's a great addition to the experience. However, I do feel the cleanliness could be improved. At times, the sauna and bathroom don’t feel as fresh as they could be, and it’s not ideal to sit in the sweat left behind by the previous person. I’d definitely recommend bringing a towel for the sauna for a more comfortable experience. On a positive note, the staff is always friendly, approachable, and very helpful, which really enhances the overall experience. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing gym! Great staff, great community. Not an ego lifting gym at all so always relaxed, never loud or overcrowded and the areas you need and want segregated are set out perfectly. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, awesome range of equipment, friendly and welcoming staff! 10/10 Highly recommend. Bonus points is the ladies only gym room, as a newbie starting again a year ago the ladies room was a lifesaver! The only gym I’ve ever felt comfortable walking into.

Negative experience: As a gym that DOESNT have air conditioning it’s absolutely INSANE that the two main fans have been broken for over a month now and not repaired. i go at night and it’s very stuffy i cant imagine how it is in the daytime, the fans should be a priority. Only one good positioned fan works if you are weightlifting. Secondly, the gym literally has 3 puddles in different places because of leaks in the roof… It is currently covering equipment in water. Things like this need to be repaired and actually looked at asap, it’s not good enough. The gym is quite large and has a decent range of equipment and dumbells go quite high, which is a good thing about this gym. Music is also awful, never been to a gym with worse music. Pop songs with the worst remixes. A few good things about this gym and so much potential but really isn’t up to par at the moment.

Negative experience: Absolute feral management. I cancelled back in December 2021 (with photo proof of cancellation going through) and to this day they are still trying to charge me (as of 25th of May 2024). Out of the few emails i got out of them they said i owed money yet didnt mention this at the time of cancelling?? Why put someones cancellation through if they still owe money? Which leads me to believe they are trying to squeeze anything they can get. Don't bother trying to get through to Justin he doesn't respond. Even after multiple times of asking and pleding to get rid of my bank details they don't. Last time I was there the gym itself was fine but good luck to anyone trying to cancel their membership.

Negative experience: Lack of equipment that never gets replaced. Ridiculous amount of classes in peak hour times that take up large spaces of the gym, paying the same amount as people using these classes but not be able use the equipment is completely unfair. Whole way this gym is run needs a serious re-think.

Negative experience: Absolutely mind blown to find out they now lock away all pads for bars outside of staffed hours… this gym has really gone down hill and is just a money grab so dusty, spray bottles empty a lot of the time! Have contacted the gym manager 3 times and can’t even call me although I have been told by the staff he would call me the next day. Just like all google reviews on here only replies to the positive!!!!

Positive experience: Good equipment, classes, staff etc. But if they make it a recovery centre like Nerang, it would warrant a 5 star review. Until then, it's just another gym similar to others in the area. Upgrade it EMF :)

Fantastic experience: The staff are great. They worked well as a team in our sign up during our decision making process. They answered all questions and made us feel welcomed despite myself not working out for a few years and my daughter being a new to gyms. They also have a great selection of additional classes like hot yoga the facilities and equipment are modern and clean.

Positive experience: I really want to know how often you guys sanitise the showers and toilets. Iv been going 7days a week for a month now and i haven't seen it clean / moped / sanitised once. Same goes for the heavy punching bag area matts. Same for the sauna floor and seats. I will definitely pull my membership if it stays the same. Other than that its a top gym. Awesome equipment and staff.

Fantastic experience: Spacious gym with a range of equipment, and friendly staff. Love all the group classes, and the instructors have been great so far. I wish there were more classes in the evenings and weekends that I could attend, but overall it's been a great experience. The app is easy to use as well.

Negative experience: They are changing me $180. To cancel me membership which I haven't started yet. I joined on the 8th cancelled today 12th. The cooling off period was 2 days which I wasn't informed about. The tag tag they gave me on the 8th doesn't work I found that out today when I went to cancel my non contract membership today. Signed up for casual membership, Facilities not use cancelled membership. Cost $180 What a rip-off

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of this gym for over year and was impressed with the calibre of their instructors, classes and high quality facility. The team were always very helpful and lovely. Definitely recommend joining EMF at North Lakes if you want fun, high energy classes!

Negative experience: If you’re looking for a decent gym with a good vibe and sense of community then I would suggest avoiding EMF Northlakes.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym that I would recommend to all. It has a good selection of equipment, a ladies area, heavy weights area, boxing area and lots of classes to attend. Friendly staff, a little cafe and supplements available. I would love to see some more machines with weight levels rather than just levels, but that's a personal preference.

Fantastic experience: Clean gym and new equipment, highly recommended

Negative experience: In the beginning, we had a key tag issue so we could not get into the gym for a while. It fixed eventually with kind responses. Gym is really big and wide and looks clean. However, I personally feel i prefer Good life because inside of this gym does not have fresh air and windows where we can see outside. It just feels like i am in a factory type gym. Sadly, it has good equipment, mini cafe and small sports shop near Chemist house but for me, it is a bit stuffy and hot inside.

Fantastic experience: The club is big and bright, with plenty of space and equipment. The staff are welcoming and genuinely attentive to the upkeep of the club, regularly putting weights and equipment back in their correct place.

Negative experience: The gym is nice but last week I put my daughter in the crèche (she’s 2) and I came back and she had pooped herself everywhere and was standing far away in the corner crying. The young boy who was on duty (it was a Saturday) was sitting down watching Harry Potter with the older kids, and it absolutely broke my heart and I’ll never be recommending this again. I even told him at the start that she might be a little upset when I leave and he just continued to sit down and watch movies and didn’t try and welcome her at all. I only took 20 mins as I was worrying the whole time, and look what I came back to. How are parents meant to feel like their kids are looked after, you weren’t even watching and ignored her the whole time while she sobbed and poo’ed herself.

Positive experience: The gym is good 90% of the time. I prefer to go after hours so there’s not as many people and so that theres not groups of teens just hanging around but this a become less consistent especially during school holidays. As per the EMF website it states that minors are not permitted after hours/ not during staffed hours. With the school holidays upon us I have found that there have been grounds of teens just hanging around in the gym after hours. I have flagged an issue with one of the staff members at this location about one of the cable rigs possibly needing maintenance due to concerns that the fact that the two cables which people use for cable flys are two different length and this may be a sign that the equipment possibly requires maintenance before anything drastic happens.

Positive experience: I've only been here once, outside staffed hours. At first I was confused. There was a sign saying EMF above a door. My pass let me in, but I was met with a blank hallway with no indication of which way to go. I tried different doors to no avail, until I found a door with a tag sensor which led to the gym. After that, my experience was good. I did a decent workout. I liked their equipment. I look forward to visiting again when I'm next in the vicinity. I highly recommend this gym. It has good machine variation. It also has a machine that I loved. I wish my home location gym had it. Oh well. 8/10 recommend.

Negative experience: Went there on 8/2/23 around 7am for a day pass/ trial and the 2 men at the front desk were super rude, I paid $20 for the day ( which is fine) but didn't even get asked if I've been there before or shown around. I had to ask one of their lovely members where the bathroom was. Will not return again. Much different to the Mango hill EMF who are SO kind and helpful.

Negative experience: Turned up to emf with my partner she was interested in some of the meals they have to offer .. the counter was unattended the mobile phone and keys were on the bench . We waited for 25 mins in that 25 mins I used my pass to walk through the gym and try and find some one I was then told by another member that they saw the receptionist walk into chemist warehouse . Not impressed guys . I'm a loyal member and that treatment is shocking fix it .

I can’t fault anything about todays sessions. awesome music, atmosphere, instructor & workouts. The positive energy vibrated throughout the room from start to finish. Fantastic experience: Hygienic, tidy, affordable and not crowded. I’ve been to a lot of gyms in 10+ years of training and this one is my favourite. The equipment is clean, tidy and very good quality. The gym is well designed and everything is separated and spaced nicely. There’s a functional area, cardio, stretching, weights, boxing sections and they’re all in their own area. The only negative thing I can say is that the lighting is really bright. Kind of like Kmart or Target which is a bit weird. But all in all, it’s great.

Positive experience: Like any typical gym, reel you in hook line and sinker, get stuck in 12mth contract. Obviously I was struggling to find motivation, got offered a PT @$85 for 45 min I think it's over priced but I do know they charge the PT a fee. Better places with better support available.

Fantastic experience: I bought 3 passes trial, and I went for the first time yesterday. It was amazing, I am from Sydney so I used to great gym with space. I did 20 mins in the treadmill and then my work out with machine and weight. Later I enjoyed 10 mins in the sauna. I really recommend the Gym.

Negative experience: The staff do not accept responsibility for information they provide to customers instead placing blame on the customer. Telling me I didn't go into the club to process a medical cancellation (I had a broken wrist and was not cleared to drive) then I didn't fill out a form (was told that's ok not to) advised to send a medical certificate which I did then staff said they would action the cancellation with the information I supplied. 6 weeks later fees were deducted. Still blaming me. They will rob you and your Nana blind before admitting fault. I was leave without pay for the best part of 1 month then this was deducted after believing in good faith a cancellation was actioned. I have written evidence and a refund is not being processed. Where is their so called good faith now? Liars.

Fantastic experience: Gym is fantastic. If you have any issues the manager will bend over backwards to see that it is sorted. Very happy with my experience at this gym. Equipment is all new and really good quality. Bright and friendly atmosphere. Something here for everyone.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities

Positive experience: I was advised that during the lockdown for Covid, the time everyone's memberships were on hold was NOT to be added to our contracts (6 weeks). Today, when trying to end my contract due to moving interstate, I have been advised that this lockdown time was added and an additional 3 paymenys are still required. Very disappointed as I was advised in December that my contract could be ended late January.

Fantastic experience: Moving from another gym around the area, to this gym was a great decision. I immediately feel welcomed as soon as I walk through the doors at emf, everyone there is super friendly and helpful. My other gym I didn’t feel as much welcomed and felt judged. The classes are amazing and provide a variety of different times for all to be involved and the PT (shout out to Connor Hill) are so genuine. The gym facilities are great, always cleaned and the equipment it top notch Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been at here since the beginning of this year and it fast became my second home. I’ve been to a lot of gyms in the area and around Brisbane, and none ever quite fit enough to make me want to be there long enough. The atmosphere, equipment, classes and staff are amazing, you could not ask for a more motivational environment. There is something for everyone and every style of training, as well as some awesome PTs

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! hands down best one I have ever trained at, the atmosphere is welcoming and you become part of the family not just the staff but the other customers that train there as well, the atmosphere just gets you pumped and makes you want to train your best, the facilities and equipment are impeccable, so much choice in classes and the membership fees are definitely affordable. Reading through the negative reviews I have noticed most of the people leaving them are leaving positive reviews for the local competition which leads me to believe they are fake reviews, there has also never been a fee to look around?! Best way to decide for yourself is to go down and check the place out.

Fantastic experience: I can whole-heartedly say that this is the best gym I have ever joined. I feel like I'm a part of a massive, supportive family every time I enter the doors. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The trainers are the best in the business! I love that it's 24/7 and that I can do reformer Pilates and hot yoga for such an affordable weekly rate. We all needed to stick together, when the new Breathe gym owners insulted Connor, Curtis and Ryan... this could have jeopardized their reputation... alot of bad talk for immature business owners.. this backfired on them BIG TIME!!!!! Anywho... i love my time at EMF... great gym family ethic... fantastic atmosphere... best equipment ( hands down)... I love this place... just to note the 1 star ratings ... it's a bit obvious they made names up.. as they don't link.. plus... these comments , have one thing in common( so obviously from one person)... there is no punctuation....you can't bad mouth great service when you Breathe owners don't give you the time if day...AND THEY INSULT OTHERS MEMBERS TO OTHER MEMBERS... Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of a few local gyms over the years, and EMF is hands down the best I’ve been to. The lovely reception staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The PT’s and class trainers are so knowledgeable and will absolutely motivate you to help you reach your full training potential and smash your goals. The equipment is high quality, state of the art, and plentiful. The classes are varied and plentiful, with no silly virtual classes - all are instructor lead. From boxing to aerial yoga, there’s something for everyone! EMF is my second home, and I love absolutely everything about it, from the aesthetics, large space, people - both staff and fellow gym members, the atmosphere and cleanliness. Don’t think I’d ever find another gym to beat this place!

Fantastic experience: It is the best gym where I have been, I love its facilities and the system they implemented to reopen its doors after the Covid-19, if you do not bring your towel you do not train, all the equipment is clean, they also have everything necessary to disinfect the equipment and your hands and social distance is maintained. For this and much more I love this gym.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym, it is AMAZING! I used to feel so uncomfortable in gyms as I always felt judged but now I can't get enough of EMF. The staff and trainers are outstanding and would go out of their way to help in any way possible. I have also met so many amazing members who are now close friends and we are like one big happy family.

Fantastic experience: EMF performance is something else. I am a personal trainer there and I have certainly worked at other gyms and trained elsewhere. The members are what makes our gym so perfect. There is no judging of others despite what these fake accounts are describing it to be. Talk to your friend or of someone that goes there and I can guarantee you how happy they are to be at a gym like emf. The equipment is state of the ark, the classes are pumping with numbers and everyone supporting each other through the tough sessions. We as staff are more then happy to do whatever it takes to make your experience better. If there is something we can help with or give any advice please reach out. Our gym is growing and that speaks for itself. The members coming in are extremely happy with the service that emf provides and the values we stand for. Again, if you are looking at a gym to start your fitness journey or simply wanting a change then come on down for a look we as staff are more then happy to show you around and tell you what we love about emf

Equipment is brand new and there's a huge variety for whatever you want to do. Massive weights rack, tonnes of machines, boxing area, spin room, ladies only room, squat racks.... You name it, it's there! Whoever is thinking of joining a gym, go check out EMF, you won't be disappointed!!

Fantastic experience: EMF is an absolutely great spacious gym. I am a personal trainer here, i love the environment of EMF that the members bring. I firmly believe that members make the gym great, as a trainer, i love seeing members who are there to better themselves, do not believe the fake account reviews about the gym. Give the gym a go and see how you enjoy it for yourself, there are classes there for everyone. Crossfit, boxing, fit 45, bootcamp classes, barre, yoga, aerial yoga, spin classes and much more.

Fantastic experience: While reading through these reviews, it's easy to see the fake profiles leaving bogus poor reviews on arguably the best fitness facility in the region that is lead by a genuine community focussed team. Dig a bit deeper and you'll see the pattern and connection to a competitor gym. Keep doing what you do EMF North Lakes!

Negative experience: Was not very happy. I went to go and have a look at the gym and was told that i had to pay to look around. I am not a skinny person but i will not be looked down upon when wanting to loose weight. I will never go back to this gym again rude staff aswell.

Negative experience: went in to have a look around was greeted by someone who was rude and disrespectful just because im not a typical gym junkie and on steroids she then told me i had to pay for a tour kids club had so many kids and not enough staff would not feel comfortable leaving my 3 little ones in there at all every staff member i encountered while there looked down on me like they were all high and mighty and were talking ill of another gym in the area so unprofessional and disrespectful will never go there again even if you pay me is also very expensive compared to other gyms in the area and have to pay extra for classes

Positive experience: This gym is great! I love all the classes that are available. The place is always tidy and neat. Even when it’s busy there is always machines available to do a quick workout.

Fantastic experience: I signed up here just before it opened and I currently pay the same price that I used to pay at my last gym but it is 1000x better. I have personally found the staff to be super welcoming and lovely. My favourite classes are barre and yoga and there are never any wait lists for those classes. They have heaps of new equipment so you never have to wait to use a treadmill unlike my last gym. Absolutely love everything about it and would recommend to anyone!
