Anytime Fitness Gawler Place

Negative experience: The shower room looks good, but the location where the shelf is installed is wrong. I raised my hand while washing my hair and hit my hand. The liquid soap dispenser looked broken.

Fantastic experience: friendly staff, clean facilities, lots of machines, and pretty quiet during non-peak hours!!! No complaints

Fantastic experience: The gym is very clean, tidy regularly, and the machines are new. I like to exercise here because it is not crowded and I don't have to wait for the machines. It is usually very quiet on weekends.

Fantastic experience: This gym has a great set up and extremely welcome atmosphere. The only anytime I’ve ever been that has a worker there early on a Friday which helps someone like me who trains early in the morning. Like the split level with cardio on top level with machines to also do weights and downstairs free weights when required. Always clean and presentable and looks after its members

Negative experience: Homophobic and hateful. A few months ago my partner and I were in the gym and he was flirting with me (The same behavior I've seen with straight couples), and some random in the gym started yelling at us. I acknowledge that the gym isn't the best place for flirting, but it's harmless because we're a couple (And I see straight couples do it all the time). Anyway, we left the gym and let it go. The next day we both got a call from the manager telling us our memberships are canceled. We weren't given the right to challenge this decision. Even after I explained the situation, they took the side of the homophobe who yelled at us. This happened at the beginning of the fortnight I had just paid for, and they refused to give me a refund. It's a shame, because the gym equipment was excellent. But haters gonna hate!

Negative experience: Small, and quite frankly terrible. Small that I can’t get equipment not enough variety and sharing is not a bad thing but it is when you have to share one thing amongst the whole CBD. DO BETTER!

Fantastic experience: Ventured over town to this anytime as the alternative in town smelt like it was not cleaned anywhere near enough. Plenty of space and equipment to get your workout done, facility is kept clean, probably to second best anytime I have been to which is only second to club of the year!

Negative experience: DO NOT sign up your membership at this branch if you want the possibility in the future to relocate to any other AF after a break because this AF simply won’t let any other AF access the purple key/pass hence you will have to pay another $99. I had a car accident and couldn’t go for about 2 years and my injuries finally allowed me to go back to gym again but I had to pay another 99 if I wish sign up anywhere else and I am not going to re-sign up here at Gawler place and go to where’s not convenient for me anymore before I could go any other AF. Very disappointing and it makes no sense to me

Positive experience: It's OK, it has the equipment to get the job done. However, the two treadmills I tried and the floor climb need a bit of a service as they sound a bit worn and tired. They need more fans in the cardio area, especially around the elliptical equipment.

Negative experience: Tried calling 4 times and no one picked up. Guess they don't want new members ‍♀️

Negative experience: Was transferred to this gym, called to cancel my membership after 4 years due to numerous reasons. Was told I’d need to keep paying weekly payments for a month before I could cancel. I don’t remember clauses in my contract from years ago but seems unreasonable after being a member for years and not having access to the gym now. Lindsay said if I didn’t agree to this debt collectors would pursue me and I would have a bad credit rating. She refused to cancel until I paid this, which I said she couldn’t keep adding additional fees, she denied refusing to cancel without payment then clarified what she was saying by repeating she wouldn’t cancel until I paid. Eventually she pulled the “I can tell you’re getting frustrated, I’ll let you calm down” and said she would email me how to cancel and contact number for someone else other than her which she point blank just has not done. No email. Worst experience in the 4 years I’ve been a member.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 Service. I was visiting for a couple days and forgot my pass back home in another state. The consultant helped me get another one and explained the situation, she even had me set up with access within 5 minutes of explaining things.

Negative experience: Very dirty toilet and shower rooms I’d post pics but it’s so filthy best if I didn’t Shower not cleaned enough and smelled of urine !!!! EEEKKK! Plz clean your toilets and shower areas !!! Can’t stress enough Gym equipment’s are ok No help available when needed

Negative experience: The most unhelpful gym. Love my Local anytime but this CBD one is just atrocious, keep on denying any reasonable request and said there were no free trial for a friend who want to come along, after I questioned several time on the advertisement which clearly says 7 days free trial on us. With competition being so fierce, you would think they train the staff on delivering exceptional customer service. Clearly I was wrong.

Negative experience: This gym is really bad! Not only did I need to run out to pay for city parking, but they didn’t even have 2kg balls to workout with, only from 6kg up. Probably the worst anytime I’ve ever been to

Staff are always nice and they seem very professional. They have a wall mounted tablet for you to put your own songs in the playlist too! Epic.

Positive experience: Gym was alright. Not set up very well :( Kinda just crammed machines in. I was using the preacher machine to do bicep curls :) But it was put up against the wall so I had to re arrange so I could use it :( Also no mirror when I was on it :’(

Fantastic experience: Large gym with plenty of room for equipment and people. Functional space on the ground floor and equipment on the 1st floor. Second functional/weights room on the 1st floor as well for people who need that extra space. This gym is also accessible for people with wheelchairs as there is an elevator entrance. If there was one complaint; half the time the internet doesn't work. Might want to restart the router once in a while. At least crowdDJ works just fine.

Fantastic experience: This IS the best Anytime Fitness in South Australia. The staff go above and beyond to help and support you through your fitness journey. The spaces are clean and plenty of towel stations to clean equipment. The Personal Trainers are the best I've dealt with. They communicate with you and help you achieve your goals and teach you right the techniniques from the very beginning. I have been training here (and before at James Place) for over 3 years, and team are amazing. With new equipment and more space at Gawler Place, I would not recommended any other AF in South Australia.

Fantastic experience: Good option for exercise, many machines to choose and big space also. There is always space available and you can join the classes too, like zumba or abbs core. Just in the center, very close to rundle mall and the tram station. Not many places available for parking, specially in rush hours. Totally recomended .

Fantastic experience: A new addition to the 'Anytime Fitness' chain of gyms located all around Adelaide and other cities. Situated off Pirie St and across two levels, it has pretty much everything you need in a gym with the exception of a sauna (not many gyms have them these days anyway). The gym was deserted because it was the very early hours of the morning. There are 3 change rooms and separate, quite spacious shower facilities. The toilets are separate and located opposite the showers. All of these are located on the top level. There is a water fountain/refill station located on the upper floor but couldn't find one on the ground level. This could pose an interesting situation during peak hours when the gym gets busy. There's a large room on the upper level for classes. Good gym, easily accessible off Rundle Mall in the city.

Positive experience: A nice and spacious gym. I think it could need another squat rack, may get crowded and not easily available at times. Nice space for functional training. Like the fact that there are challenges posted and people are encouraged to beat them for a price. Would like to better if there are more extensions/attachments available on the cable machines and an extra water fountain on the lower level.

Positive experience: Good range of equipment and easy layout to navigate through with adequate spacing for exercise. The only problem is that weights and benches are always left in the wrong places

Negative experience: Visiting anytime member here. Gym manager had the gall to contact my home gym (not me directly) & lodge a complaint against me as they claim l unloaded a machine & placed the plates next to the machine on the floor ie no weights tree available. Meanwhile, what appeared to be regular gym members were smashing cable weights & generally mis-handling equipment. In 15 years of training at numerous gyms around the world, I have never been threatened like this or questioned over gym etiquette. Beware, police state here.
