Negative experience: Staff was very pushy when trying to sell a contract. They tried to lure my friend into a 6 months contract eventhough the closed the gym permanently just 2 weeks later.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! The staff are incredibly welcoming, and the facility is always well-maintained. The positive atmosphere makes every visit enjoyable. The spacious layout offers plenty of machines and all the essential equipment you need for a great workout. Alvin, in particular, is always friendly, approachable, and eager to assist. With Bondi Junction AF relocating soon, I’m excited to hear that the new space will be even bigger, featuring more equipment and machines. I’m looking forward to rejoining when the new gym opens. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best AF gyms in Sydney. Large floor space, plenty of machines, all key equipment available. And Joel (the manager) is friendly, cordial, and helpful—a top guy and an excellent example of an ideal gym manager. As I understand, Bondi Junction AF are about to change locations; the new gym location will be even larger than the current gym, with more equipment and machines. I cannot wait! Very exciting. Even though this gym isn't very close to my workplace or residence, I travel the extra distance because the other AF gyms in the Eastern Suburbs, like Randwick AF, are extremely poor. And once the new Bondi Junction AF opens, I will train exclusively in this gym. Great gym, great equipment, excellent atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: To say that this gym changed my fitness journey would be an understatement. From the moment I signed up the staff have been super friendly and just made me feel so welcome. I actually looked forward to go to the gym after having bad experiences at a nearby gym (Fitness First), it’s clean has all the machines that I needed and just have had the best gym sessions there. Sad that I moved location and this isn’t my regular anymore. Additionally, I have to say that Alvin just made my experience there so pleasant and when I told him I was leaving it was like saying bye to a friend. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have been training now for 30 years, at many different gyms, I have had the pleasure of meeting many people from all walks of life and at varying levels of fitness. I decided to give Anytime Fitness in Rose Bay a go, at the insistence of my good friend, and found it to be great. As I’m in Bondi Beach, I then decided to move closer, to a new AF franchise in Bondi Junction. I found this to be the best move, the gym is great, the staff here are an absolute joy to talk to, and invariably I ended up meeting the Franchisee owner, Karl, whom is absolutely committed to providing the best service possible. It’s not 100% perfect, nothing ever is, but it’s very, very, very close!!! It’s probably the best gym that I have been to in my 30 years, and to say that I am extremely fussy is an understatement. Well done to Karl and his crew, it’s a 9.9/10 from me mate

Fantastic experience: Equipment is perfect, all looks brand new condition, large variety, perfect most ideal machines for hypertrophy and strength training. Large variety in attachments for pulldowns and any cable movements. Gym is kept very clean and fresh, nothing messy or dirty ever. Not very busy, barely ever have to wait for equipment, and never overcrowded. Staff are super friendly, helper and welcoming. Ideal gym in pretty much all aspects + 24/7 and cheap price. Cant really beat it.

Negative experience: I usually attend Rose Bay AF. However, due to electricity outrage, I have to change location. There's no way I am coming back. There is no changing room, the bathroom is so small that you can't even change there. There is an "open room" with skincare products Useless. As soon as you go into the main training room, you get destroyed by a blast of air freshener that half is enough to make you pass out. I understands odours control and such, but I don't get why people don't say anything about that. You want to go to the gym to be healthy, not to be intoxicated by toxic fragrances. The gym is busy but it feels very spacious to accommodate the people attending the gym . Unfortunately it was very disappointing

Negative experience: Attended this on and off for the past 5 years. Decent sized gym with a good amount of racks, and standard machine selection. Can be prone to crowding but I've found this has improved a lot recently with the re-opening of the Randwick branch. Unfortunately some mixed experiences with staff. The young guy who works reception (name escapes me) is lovely and always makes you feel welcome. There is a manager who I would describe as middle aged male, Asian appearance, that gives honest-to-God death stares to members. In 15 years of gym-going I've never had this experience before, its very strange, creepy, and can be quite off-putting! I tried saying hello to him the other day as I presumed he's either overworked or down in the dumps over something but was totally ignored. Customer service aside, it's a decent gym and I'll continue to go when I find myself in the area. PS I'm conscious the manager could be reading these reviews and there could be a genuine reason why he is coming off this way. I hope he is getting supported by the organisation for whatever he might be going through.

Negative experience: Do not join this gym - they will rip you off. I travel with work and need the flexibility to stop/start the account. They put me on a higher tarriff to enable me to do this. The first time I notifed them I was travelling, they informed me that I had to pay a 30 day cancellation fee each time - and even had the audacity to try and get a further three weeks payment out of me - totally dishonest from start to finish. Over the past decade I have been a member at 2 other Anytime fitness gyms and had no problems whatsoever. I would advise you to look at other gyms.

Negative experience: Upon entering this gym, I smiled and said hello to the funny looking male Asian employee, who stared at me as if he hated me with a vengeance. No smile, no hello, no nothing. When I left, the same thing occurred. I know he’s obviously miserable and unhappy with his pathetic excuse of a life, but cheer up buttercup, you need to greet people and be kind. I don’t know what it’s like where you come from (though I’ve got a pretty good idea), but here in Australia we tend to be polite most of the time, especially while providing customer service. Also, he doesn’t look like he’s exercised ever in his entire life. Bit strange working at a gym then, huh? Update - Surprise, surprise, I can see other reviews regarding the inhumane treatment others have received from this degenerate. My recommendation - fire him now. Oh, and get a boxing bag. It doesn’t make sense to not have one if the space is there.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to many AF and this is the best I’ve ever been. Super spacious. Very tidy and well kept. Staff is super friendly. Lots of natural light during the day. Very good overall environment. Plenty of deadlift platforms and squat racks.

Positive experience: they were pretty expensive. Yeah, they've got quality as well but should reduce a price as well

Negative experience: One of the worst customer experience I have received by a member of staff in here named Alvin, who is on reception. My membership was put in incorrectly by another member of staff, who was actually very helpful. Alvin, first of all was aggressive and asked me if I had the app which I was told I didn’t need, if I had my swipe. As I went to look at my phone, he grabbed it out of his hand to check himself if there was an app. Then on the phone he said in front of my face “he’s looking at me with a blank expression” on whether I had the app or not. Overall he made me feel very uncomfortable, and like I had done something wrong. The experience was awful. When I went into the gym on other occasions, I could sense some sort of aggression from him. And today which I was never told he ran over to stop me from working out and said I have to leave as I was wearing crocs. Which fair enough if it is a rule but I seen numerous people wearing in that gym. I will be now taking another 30 minute journey to rose bay gym, where the staff are lovely, not to return to this gym because of his actions.

Negative experience: Could not recommend this gym less. there is way too many members and not enough equipment. you will spend half your time standing around.

Positive experience: Adequate equipment and set up but ventilation is never on in the mornings making the whole place humid. Ventilation never seems to be on in the bathrooms. Have emailed a few times but no one ever replies. If that was fixed would be a great gym

Negative experience: Trained here a few times purely for convenience as it’s located very close to work. I have found it to be very crowded & definitely lacking equipment compared to my home club. I also found it very concerning that members either use a face cloth as a sweat towel or no towel at all and I could only find 1 wipes bin in gym so I’m guessing this why I found very few members wiping equipment after use.

Negative experience: Still trying to receive the money wrongfully charged through the process of cancelling my membership back May/2022. Not easy, and the staff do not keep you updated. If you haven't enrolled yet I would think twice. If you're already with them, be aware whenever trying to cancel your membership. Complain on FairTrade to be lodged.

Negative experience: Although the facilities are great especially after the new renovation, I have had an extremely unpleasant experience dealing with management, they were extremely unhelpful with aiding in finding my stolen headphones, after 2 weeks of nagging they still made minimal efforts to find the person who stole it. Troy was extremely disrespectful towards me and treated me In a way which was extremely inappropriate, he started shouting at me in the middle of the gym and gave me an arbitrary fine because I lost my pass and was saving up to buy a new one but I was still paying for the membership. Great gym , horrible service. I would recommend going to any other gym in Bondi junction

Negative experience: The Gym in Bondi Junction itself is nice, not too big but there is a good variety of equipment and they try to keep the machines and accessories up to date. On the other hand, I have had a pretty bad experience with the Management where I had been charged a couple of times extra and had to explain my situation several times (4 times to the manager). It took around 9 months to solve it including a quite long email conversation, numerous phone calls and a lot of hassle for a problem that could have been solved in 2 weeks' time. But with a big help of Mai (anytime fitness employee) I finally got my money back.

Negative experience: Awesome Gym and staff, clean with everything to train but don't go if you want to train less of 1 year or the membership cost Will be Crazy to pay.

Negative experience: Staff were fine but the website provides no information for ongoing members, such as class schedules, and the debit payments are awful. I continuously got told I paid late payments despite providing my details for recurring payments and my first handful of payments overcharged me as they charged me for the wrong membership price. I'll definitely go with another gym after my membership expires. Communication is also difficult, I felt unheard and often called randomly instead of having my emails answered. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have joined AF Bondi in 2015 and was in good shape with 10-15 % body fat, but when Covid-19 came and we started working from home I have gained a lot of weight and body fat. In 2020 and in early 2021 I did not step a single day in gym, hence my body fat % increased to 22%. In the end of 2021, I have decided to come back on track so I contacted gym and spoke to Joel and decided to get some guidance from him to help me into my transformation. Since he is expert in his field, he helped me to create personalized nutrition and workout plans for me based on my body composition test and it suited my body type. The result of this is that within 3 months I have successfully burn almost 5 % body fat and have steep improved in other critical factors such as body muscle mass etc. I am still in a journey with him so that under his guidance I will achieve my body goals (in between 10%-12% body fat). Over the last few months, he has demonstrated a quality guidance, professionalism, and with his expertise, I am progressing everyday. For those who are looking to do the same or has fitness goals, I would like to recommend him. Additionally, I would like to say thanks to Jade and Steve for helping me with other gym queries.

Negative experience: As a member of Anytime on and off for over 13 years this club is the worst. My membership was paused due to injury, they continued to debit money. Even after documents had been provided. I received an email stating offer of refund and member cancellation but after sending my details a month ago Still No refund. Looking at small claims court now.

Negative experience: Worst service ever. Not recommended. Especially, their third party payment system( Debit success) charges weigh more than it suppose to be. They do not care about it at all.

Negative experience: Unfortunately too many people are not using towels or wiping down the benches. The staff seem too preoccupied preening themselves in the office, on their phones or having conversations with each other. They have short memories as it wasn’t long ago gyms were closed down and they were out of work. Come on guys, please, do your job.

Negative experience: Every day super busy, you come at 9am it's busy you come at 11am it's busy At 2pm busy and from 4 to 9pm don't even think about working out, then they close at 10pm.... Very small area always overcrowded, Don't ever make the mistake to sign a lock in contract with them... There is 4 benches, 1 press, 4 squat bars for over 90 persons and they are still signing in new people.... Can be ok for beginner if you don't have any plan or training program and you do random improvised training but if you have a progral definitely avoid this gym, don't even think about superset etc

Fantastic experience: Biggest and best Anytime in the east. Much better membership (fellow trainers) than some other large gyms in the area. Great and friendly staff.

Negative experience: Gym was great, but disappointing experience when it came to ending my contract. You will need to jump through a few hoops if you want to get out of your contract. Suggest if you are signing up you go for the 12 month not 18 month contract.

Positive experience: I found this branch as I was in the area but would not suggest if travelling by car. Zero to none street parking (30min / 1hr) and Westfield’s Bondi junction is simply too far away, usually crowded and takes away from a proper workout if I already spend 30-40min searching for a spot plus the walk to the gym. Other branches have successfully collaborated with car parks next door or local council offering members a 2hr parking at no cost. Re gym itself, im not entirely sure why treadmills are elevated but the wood makes it really unstable and not it is not a pleasure to run on. Other equipment is spot on, showers are great and staff (female) was on spot.

I have joined the gym 2 months ago and still waiting to get the 3 complementary training session that I had paid for with one of their personal trainers. They have tried to put me with with 3 different PT but they never get back to you and when they do its to cancel the appointment on last minute! No professionalism at all. The classes they offer during the week never, NEVER works even thought schedule it before. It seems they just want you money! Nothing more! They should at least respect they customers!

Negative experience: Customer service here is a JOKE ! Staff are so rude, especially this one male that sits on the computer all day with dark brown/blackish short hair, rude, unfriendly, and majority of people that walk in he will just stare at them and look away. At least greet your customers.
