Negative experience: Out of all the goodlife gyms i’ve been in, my jaw dropped when i walked into this one. It is a narrow room with all equipment so close to each other. There are people working out and no music so you can hear everyone puffing. What a weird environment to be in, better bring headphones. The bathrooms are terrible. The goodlife gyms in Logan are better then this. Convenient location or not, i will not be going back.

Negative experience: Shocking way management treat their trainers when we as customers rely on the trainers as a first contact. When you have managers (david) shacking up with personal trainers (belinda) then sacking other trainers to try and get her more classes. Despicable.

Negative experience: Some of the staff in the gym are shockingly careless about the members' needs. 1) I walked out the sauna room today (10 July 2024) and felt seriously dehydrated thus asked the young staff who was closing up the recreation area at 7:00pm today to help me fill up my water bottle (as I was wet in my bikini and couldn't go out to the gym floor to fill out my water bottle myself). She gave me a cold look and said "Wait until I finish the work here". I was waiting for her for ages in the change room, but she never showed up and helped me. 2) I requested the gym manager a few months ago and she agreed to purchase some 15 kg weight plates (there are only 5kg, 10kg, and 20kg weight plates available in the gym) . 15kg weight plate is the right weight for my back curl exercise (10kg is too light, 20kg is too heavy for me). I can't hold 2 plates (10kg + 5kg)in my hands to do this exercise. However, she didn't do anything about it!! There are still NO 15kg weight plates available in this gym. It sucks!!

Negative experience: Edit: Cleaning has definitely improved over the last month, and no longer smells. Quiet gym. Has some good basic equipment. However, treadmills could do with some servicing. Another edit: 5/9/24 Majority of treadmills clearly have not been serviced. I nearly stacked it when number 214 came to an abrupt halt unexpectedly. The emergency stop had been triggered internally, the lever had not been touched. DANGEROUS!!!

Negative experience: I don’t leave bad reviews very often (I think this is the first time) but the person who answers the support email is extremely unprofessional, giving passive aggressive responses and lying to the members. That person told me (among other things) that I couldn’t transfer my membership to another club because of my membership type which of course I found out was not true and when I pointed that was not stated in the contract of course they stopped replying. All the interaction was just horrible. I really think they need to get someone more capable of handling those things more professionally.

Positive experience: Amazing gym! A real sense of community. Not only do I go for a workout, but to socialise. The staff are so friendly and it’s in an awesome location. Very convenient. Only negative thing I could say is there is no hip abductor machine. If they get one of those, five stars all the way. Also, I would love if they did evening yoga classes, maybe 5pm? That would be absolutely amazing after a stressful day at work.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym and franchise. Apart from the lack of cleaning and maintenance at the Helensvale franchise (half drunk bottles left around the gym, toilets/locker room/showers are filthy, broken equipment) and parking situation if you cancel because of inappropriate jokes from a manager about following gym rules they will not only still charge extra exit fees but also drag the process out to keep adding charges. Edit: in response to Goodlife. 1. My name is the same as my membership. 2. Goodlife have no problems finding my information to keep harassing me via phone and email. 3. I shouldn't have to follow up on social media as a 3rd! Attempt just to get your company to do the right thing. 2nd Edit: Despite contacting the club directly to resolve the issue and discuss why my final month was 3x the amount of the others there was no follow up, explanation or resolution.

Positive experience: This gym isn't my favorite, but it's the closest one to my place, so it’s convenient. They have all the equipment you could need, but the space is an issue. The machines are kind of overlapping, making it feel too tight and cramped. If they could spread things out a bit more, it would be a much better experience.

Negative experience: I understand gym staff work on commission but my goodness I have never dealt with such arrogant, pushy and rude staff that have an agenda and just don’t listen to what you are saying. This location is a joke too … parking is terrible, the steam room is broken and the bathrooms were less than maintained. I ended up signing up a different location and getting a way better deal with a much more pleasant trainer at Robina. Thank you Stacey for being amazing - you should train the others. Do yourselves a favour and avoid Helensvale location.

Negative experience: Went to GoodLife Helensvale today it was discusting. I've never seen bathrooms in that condition. I've seen cleaner public bathrooms. Don't go to this gym unless you want to catch something.
Negative experience: Bathrooms are filthy ! Gym has old equipment also none of the charging ports in the treadmills and other machines work for your phone. Tried a few of them to realise they actually all don’t work.
Negative experience: Bathroom is always filthy, toilet paper everywhere or toilets not flushing. This has been on every occasion. Not the best atmosphere I drive the extra 15 min to Nerang GL
Positive experience: There is a lack of supplies in the bathroom of the functional area (across the principal building). The cleanness is very poor, the space has been always messy, people don't collaborate and there is no one looking for organization in general. There is not air conditioning, is bloody hot every single day.
Fantastic experience: Good gym with lot of equipments.
Negative experience: The gym smells awful! Both the gym floor and the lockers have a strong, unpleasant odor, and the entire facility is very dirty. There is also a lack of maintenance on the equipment; many machines need oil, and we need more attachments for training. In comparison, Goodlife Bundall is much better. So why is Helensvale in such poor condition?
Positive experience: Group exercise range is good and instructors are excellent. Equipment is old and the shower rooms/lockers need to be updated, very old and not cleaned frequently enough that smell odors
Fantastic experience: My local is Nerang and love it. The thing I really enjoy about Goodlife is I can attend any gym and the diversity of each one. Love Mermaid Waters, and Helensvale as well. I'm big on groups for motivation and all three offer this for me. I love goodlife and highly recommend for all ages.

Positive experience: 3 to 4 stars. Positive is the equipment. Not too worn, and many of them look new. Music is very quiet. Negative is the men change room. Very untidy and almost disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I love Goodlife gym. Helensvale is my personal favourite though. ♀️ From the moment you enter the door you are greeted by a friendly staff member. It has a very nice atmosphere, everyone going about their own business, not staring at you like and making you feel uncomfortable. I personally only do the classes, which there are plenty to choose from, and all the instructors are great. My personal favourite is "pump" Its the best, especially for the uncoordinated like myself We have so much fun while exercising at the same time, music is great and so are the jokes. I have made many friends here, young and old, I would recommend it to anybody who is thinking of joing a gym.We even have dress ups on those special occasions for those who like myself like fancy dress. Easter, Halloween and of course xmas, there is always an excuse to dress up. For those who are after their own workout, there are plenty of modern machines out in the floor area, there is also plentyof parking and trainstation acrossthe road. Hope to see you soon.

Negative experience: The weights area has distinct odure which is putrid....I left straight away. The gym is either not cleaned properly or the aircon filtration is poor or not working at all.

Negative experience: I have been going to many different gyms all my life and this one is the worst of all by far! Though, other Goodlife gym facilities seem to be OK. One in Coomera is new and clean, they seem like two different gyms altogether. I go to Helensvale only because of the sauna and steam room which Coomera one doesn't have. What I've found for the last few weeks are: - Cockroaches. Lots of them! I had to ask the staff members to carry out a pest control; - Once there was a pile of rubbish (a glove for scrubbing dead skin!, bottle lids, chop sticks, etc) in sauna which I've asked the staff members to remove. I had to remind them about it for 8 days(!!!) and they were still there. They didn't even have basic instincts for picking them up! They have admitted that there were no cleaners for over a week; - Both sauna and steam room are covered with mold and slime; - Glass walls of sauna and steam room are covered with sweat stains; - Rubbish, empty bottles, etc everywhere; - The silicon seals on perimeters of glass look disgusting, they are rotten out; - Large gap under the sauna door; - Sauna is NOT hot enough. It's always around 60 to 65 degrees. People say it can drop to 50's sometimes; - The change room looks like a war zone. There are so many missing locker doors; - Piles of sweaty and stinky clothes lay on the benches and on the top of the lockers days or even weeks; - The toilets are the worst. I don't believe they clean them daily; - Steam room doesn't work most of the times; - Staff members turn up 15 minutes before the advertised closing time ans ask you to leave; - Staff members rather complain about you than do anything to satisfy the customers; - Now, they're shortening the staffed working hours which means that attending the sauna and steam room will be even more inconvenient; Overall, the gym is completely mismanaged. It's the disgrace to the GOODLIFE brand.

Fantastic experience: Helensvale Goodlife Gym is a very comfortable and enjoyable place where everyone is respectful of each other. There's a real chilled vibe there that's quite unique which allows you to smash out a great workout!
Positive experience: First visit - There’s two different sections, reception was outgoing and provided me a lock, no Keypad lock boxes, very clean and tidy. One con is limited reception hours on weekends if you have a fitness passport.
Negative experience: Have had nothing but issues with this club and staff. Don’t do it! Contract was not explained properly which I understood in a way because the person who did it was very new and still learning however should have been shadowed for training. I had an operation and recovery was beyond 2 months like they gave and this is the kicker, you have to pay to put your membership on hold… that’s right people, they are money hungry Staff are rude and completely incompetent. I transferred my membership to another suburb as a result of all this and have not had an issue since until recently when I was starting to be charged by Helensvale club again Once again, taking money where they shouldn’t, absolutely disgusted. I called this morning and was told they will get the manager to call me in the next 2 days, it should be today you silly person, not acceptable! When there is a complaint it should be same day by COB. I insisted I wanted the money back and she said she can’t promise anything…. go figure, more incompetence
Fantastic experience: I have been going to class for over 10 years. I like the airflow and coolness of the room, the floor is good for training on, as it does not grip too much, and the equipment is good. I like how light the room is also. The teachers are great quality also.

Negative experience: Never sign a contract with this Gym. They will not let you out of the contract no matter what financial and medical hardships you face. I tried to cancel my membership in June following an injury which impacted my income and there was no support or follow up that I have proof of receiving. I joined in October 2020 and paid until November 2021 because they had a COVID matter. Not good enough. Never mind the (added) benefits that I paid for and never received. Very disappointed and never joining this gym again.

Negative experience: Poor communication with contract, was asked to stay on at discount rate, which I did and told that I could cancel anytime, went to cancel and they said its 5 weeks notice, not what I was told. Staff at reception are always unfriendly and unwelcoming. some too busy talking to acknowledge you, always seems like you are interrupting them. I wouldnt recommend going to this gym. Equipment is good but always super busy

Negative experience: Please be careful signing up to this club. Get it in writing what you are asking for! I told the sales man I only wanted week by week and no lock in contract. The club manager is now telling me , when I asked to cancel my membership, I needto give 5 weeks notice and that I am on month to month contract. She is telling me what the sales guy told me was verbal and they don't go by that! STEER AWAY FROM THIS CLUB! THEY SELLBY DECEIT!

Positive experience: Staff are friendly, space is clean although a bit cramped. They have a downstairs area for circuits and a lifting platform. It is a bit inconvenient as you would need to go there and back upstairs if you need to use other machines

I had a swipe card but wasn’t working after hours.. on the weekend each time I went I had to wait at the door for people to come let me in with their swipe cards.. told good life Helensvale in an email.. they said it should work the next day, but didn’t. Their wifi is slow.. and not all the equipment was working. Really don’t recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Just attended Selina's Sunday morning Body Attack class. IT WAS AWESOME! I've been going to BA for years and you can really tell the difference between instructors that give it that extra effort. She was so energetic and really pushed us! Would recommend.
Negative experience: Thieves! They will steal money from your account after you've closed your account and cancelled membership. Watch your account after cancellation!
Positive experience: Love the class instructors and some of the consistent class rotations throughout the years, i dont like how things get so run down and take forever to be replaced.. E.g Speakers in the Studio seem to keep running on a fine line and you can hear the static and faint noises throughout the classes. You would think with the increase of membership fees things would get replaced regularly...

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership and paid 4 weekly payments required after cancelling and blocked direct debits after the 4th and final payment, after hearing and reading stories of Goodlife Gyms continuing payments when they should not be. I have paid all 4 payments and then received a text saying my account is overdue and I need to contact the debit company because I owe money. I have contacted the gym who didn’t have a proper explanation and finally got hold of the manager whom said my account is now closed. I have asked for closure of my account in writting which I am still waiting for. Please be careful of this when cancelling and watch for continuing payments! This seems to be a constant occurrence and battle with Goodlife Health Clubs.

Negative experience: As a Veteran with PTSD and a whole host of other injuries that require me to have a carer (my wife in this instance) in attendance. The General Manager who goes by the name of Turddick or something like that was positively rude to both my carer and I. It is unfortunate as I was attending training sessions with active body conditioning exercise physiologists (who deserve 5 stars). I will never attend a Goodlife gym ever again and will now go above and beyond to warn all veterans about the vile behaviour of the manager at Goodlife Helensvale.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional. Be very careful what you sign up for. I tried to cancel 3 months after signing up and was told I would need to find someone else to take over or wait out the 18 months. 21 and a half months since signing up and 18 months of not using my membership once, they were still taking out payments and then when I realized I was told I would need to wait 30 days to cancel and weekly payments would continue to be charged for another month! No phone calls, no emails.. absolutely shocking service.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, functional gym. I love how Goodlife are one of the only few gyms that have a functional steam and sauna area I’ve been with Snap and Jetts, but Goodlife beat them both as they have high quality equipment and facilities in comparison. 24/7 hours, studio room, cardio, machines and free weights; there’s a CrossFit section across the road too during staffed hours Only negative is that it’s too popular during peak times! (5p-7p) I honestly don’t know why there are so many negative reviews, the place is just fine, the staff are polite and human - it even has a daycare for busy mum’s. Don’t be a pu*sy, be grateful for what you have in your life.
Negative experience: Ok gym just convenient location for me. The equipment needs to be updated and replaced quicker when it becomes damaged.
Negative experience: Ok Gym. But staff and management are Money grabbers. They dont disclose all the agreements when you sign the contract, they rush through it with out explaining everything. Then when you try to cancel they dont and keep debiting your account. Even if they say they wlll freeze it they still expect you to pay. And then refer to the contract, that they didnt properly go through. Avoid them if you can, plently of better more friendly gyms out there
Positive experience: I love this gym and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I used to go to Snap fitness across the road but was always ignored by the staff and equipment seemed cheap. But after going to Goodlife I found the helpfulness of the staff really refreshing. Was fully toured around the gym and was provided with really great deals for personal training sessions. On top of that, the trainers really know what theyre doing and even after suffering a back injury from my workplace, would go to the pt sessions and the trainer (Krizstina) provided me with great physio advice on how to continue exercising without hurting myself. I had really bad posture and from her advice i have been able to do the exercises without placing any strain on my back. I would give this place 5 stars but have had some issues with Debitsuccess. My bills were way over what i expected at one point and they didnt provide me with any notification of it. Still to be resolved but aside from that I would definitely recommend this gym
