Fantastic experience: Really good gym with very friendly staff. Did a PT session with Nancy, she is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend - helped a lot with technique for deadlift and bench.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! There are a wide range of equipments and they are well maintained. I had a PT session with Curtis, he was super helpful and gave a lot of tips around my fitness goals.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. All the equipment was super up to date and very clean. Staff are very lovely and welcoming. Did a pt session with one of the staff members Leo and he was super helpful and took the time to show me and my friend how to use all the gym equipment. Would highly recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: Had an insightful first session with Curtis on Wednesday! The gym has some wonderful gym etiquettes that are displayed in a non offending, empathetic manner. The space does not feel judgemental, everyone's just doing their own thing.

Fantastic experience: I've recently joined back up with Rec Xpress after being a member since 2016 and am glad to see the progress the place has made over time. The trainers/staff are friendly and interactive, and my training session with Curtis today was insightful to get me back into the swing of things.

Positive experience: Rec Xpress Ormond is a conveniently placed (for me) gym, that's accessible 24/7. The treadmills are new and FTA TV can be watched on them , which is great - I've found this feature very beneficial. There is a reasonable level of equipment for weight training, both free weights and machines, and membership pricing is very competitive. Despite the relatively small space, members can train effectively. Having been a member now for >12 months, I've made significant progress in both strength and size. What is challenging at times are a subset of members who occupy equipment for lengthy periods and are preoccupied with scrolling on their phones between sets, and fail to adhere to simple gymnasium etiquette (failing to wipe down equipment after use, monopolising equipment for lengthy periods while they chat with mates between occasional sets, dropping weights, etc). The gym's rules are clearly displayed throughout the gym, however, I've found myself at times having to call out these younger male members for failing to adhere.

Negative experience: The gym itself was small and hot but fine for small sessions. The staff were pretty friendly. The real issue was trying to cancel is like pulling teeth. After sending the email (while I was in the gym and being shown what to do by a staff member) I thought it was done and dusted. Almost a year later I find out they've been charging me the entire time and when I sent the email across that I had originally sent asking to cancel they refused to refund the 10 months of payments I'd been making. The area manager could clearly see I had not used the f.o.b. in that amount of time and blew me off. There's plenty of better gyms in the area. Why waste your time here?

Negative experience: Worst gym. Was told by the owner to go to another one of there gyms as there was nothing they could do about the air quality. Very stuffy and not sufficient air conditioning. On top of this when cancelling the membership after a long period of non usage. they made me jump through hoops to get a cancellation: sms, phone and email. Do not join this gym!!!
