Fantastic experience: Body fit has been a great addition to my fitness routine. The facilities are clean and spacious, with a good mix of cardio machines and weight equipment, so I rarely have to wait for anything. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the protein shakes are well priced.

Negative experience: Terrible management, wont refund the service that they haven't provided, we tried calling many times and all the response was 'our manager will give you a call'. , just pure GREED. So frustrating.

Negative experience: Signed up for 3 months (like 6 months ago) but they rolled over the payments and when asking to cancel they told me to wait 30 days. Its been more than 30 days and i asked to cancel again but i am getting no response. I also paid for pt and was told the pt will contact me but never received a message from them or anything indicating im owed pt. Pretty terrible experience tbh

Negative experience: Hadnt been for a while, all showers and toilets out of order and a heap of machines also out of order making what was a busy post work crowd seem packed … time to find a new gym

Fantastic experience: I love this place! I've been a member for around 2 years and can confidently say after trying other gyms that this one is my favourite. It has everything I need and a great community of trainers and staff to keep you motivated. The spa and sauna are a massive bonus too. Here to stay

Negative experience: I have a list of complaints when it comes to this gym, but the biggest one is that management does not respond to emails! We gave our notice in writing over two months ago, and yet we are still being charged for membership! Management is silent on this. I put in a complaint that the gym was filthy, dirty wipes thrown on the floors, weights equipment was not returned to its place, benches were taken by PT's for their clients, the bathrooms stunk, tv's either off or just playing the Indian news and nobody at reception for weeks. The list goes on and on and I do not like to leave feedback like this. But if you are going to charge me for membership when i gave you my notice months ago, then I am going to get my money's worth. Waiting from a call from management...

Positive experience: I go off peak so enjoy the quieter times. I think the range of equipment is ok for a smaller gym. Staff seem nice and cheerful.

Positive experience: Gym is ok but I will probably switch soon. I can save money and not have to wait for access to the exercise bike because they only have 1 available. It's common for people to be waiting to use the bike. Today, like many times before, it is again out of order so there is only a recumbent bike. It usually takes them a while to get it fixed so I know my membership will be a waste for a while. There are many treadmills but I have an injury. Also dislike facing people going up and down the escalator to the metro shops while focused on my workout. Showers broken for a long time. Sauna often out of order and door doesn't close well, temperature quite low. When it comes to the Marrickville gym, if this is your local, the price isn't worth it. The men who have been working here are great at customer service though, props to them.

Negative experience: When I signed up, I was told that it was $34 per month instead of $34 per week, and I also learned that there was a $124 registration fee! I asked directly to cancel the subscription, having only taken one me the story should have stopped there. They continued to debit me. After sending messages and emails that were ineffective, I called them about 10 times to get them to stop debiting me. Now they have to pay me back what they overcharged, and of course I have to send them a reminder. IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY, DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS ROOM! Not to mention the jacuzzi that never worked

Negative experience: Coolest hot sauna I’ve sat in. I was told it is checked every hour at 82C, but had no explanation why it was luke warm. 45 minutes and didn’t break a sweat. Gym equipment seems fine. I signed up for sauna usage and was crystal clear about this during the signup process.

Negative experience: I can smell urine smell in their sauna room when they switch off their sauna after 8pm. But duty manager said he cant smell anything in it. Members pls check by urself and give input here.

Positive experience: Ok gym Would love to see more equipment The biggest issue is that the sauna, water and a lot of stuff are constantly not working or breaking without being fixed But with that said their price is attractive (should try to get around 15$ pw that's what me and my friends paying)

No issues like that with Bodyfit. Staff are great and always friendly and helpful. Sauna is great and relaxing.

Negative experience: Avoid!! Paying for membership one month after cancelling membership. Water fountain broken for some time, Aircon never worked which makes it uncomfortable to workout in. Spa dirty so only used once and female toilets often dirty. Weights never re-racked I often spent time cleaning up after others. Reason for joining this gym was location,price and flexibility with membership; as I am from overseas. Since joining the price has increased (despite the problems mentioned earlier) and when trying to cancel my membership was told different things, was firstly told it would take a month(which is ridiculous as it's a weekly payment and also worse than my property) then was told in person no problem it'll be cancelled within a week as we had a flexible membership (was also told this when I signed up which is why I opted for this gym). Would avoid this gym as in peak times very hard to get any racks or machines even struggling to find a place to stretch, there is no set contract so they can go back on their word and also my friend who was interested in joining was called at least eight times despite telling them not to contact her.

Negative experience: Dead AC, dying cheap machines, water dispenser and sauna are down most of the time, everything take turn broken, and stinky lady bathroom.

Negative experience: More and more machineries not working and not getting fixed Also, no water station as it broke over a month ago and it hasn't been fixed either

Fantastic experience: BodyFit Marrickville is convenient, clean and well organised. The team are really lovely. I sought assistance with a personal trainer and got introduced to Jess Mills. Jess brings a bubbly personality, experience and an inviting attitude that encourages you to stay on track to meet your goals. Jess really helped me reconnect my relationship with food and regain some confidence in the gym. I would recommend Jess as a PT if you’re looking for a friendly face, weight loss or some extra gains!

Fantastic experience: Good people and great gym

Negative experience: I cannot recommend this gym until they stop being cheap and fix the damn aircon or set it to run continuously. The aircon is never on at night and it's often hotter inside than outside on summer nights. It's like a sauna. We all pay quite a lot of money for the facilities and it seems these profits come before customer comfort and safety. I've brought this to the attention of management several times and yet nothing changes. Fix. The. Damn. Aircon!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym I have been a member for a few weeks under the fitness passport 24 hour convenience, fantastic staff (shout out to Pat in particular) who took me through for my first visit. The equipment is excellent and the staff are friendly no hesitation in giving 5 stars!!

Fantastic experience: This gym is exceptionally smaller and minimal compared to other gigantic gyms. This gym has all the necessary equipment and resources needed to get your workout in. The staff have been fantastic so far always cordial and greet you on your way in and way out. The only problem would be the human traffic in the peak hours. After a couple sessions in peaks I've comfortably adjusted to the gym and can still get my session done.

Fantastic experience: The staff is great, always polite and feiendly. The gym has everything you need from free weights to squat racks to rowers and more. So you can do what ever exercises or workouts you need to do. I would recommend to a friend.

Negative experience: All machines are cheap no brand that just seem like knock offs, break consistently too. Half of their 12 TVs usually are on screensaver mode. Free weight area is pretty crammed, took them over a year to label where the dumbbells should go (never in the right place anyway). There are no scales in the gym. The $10 inaccurate ones that broke months ago still haven’t been replaced. Wanted to like it but it feels like an overseas investor has slapped it together and found some cheap staff to rarely be there. If you actually owned or managed it and ever walked in you’d spot 20 things to make it way better (if you had any faintest idea of how a gym should be, to be any good anyway). Shame

Current staff lack professionalism and people skills hiding behind the desk and more concerned about their appearances. Loud thumping music. Looking forward to my annual membership expiring soon. Should be renamed Boganfit.

Negative experience: Warning! They make it impossible to cancel your membership when you need to. Really sly business practices. Shame because the gym is great. I called them 3 times, they said to email them. I emailed them 6 times (three email addresses provided team, marrickville and an employee’s name) and no replies. Eventually had to do a charge back and cancel my credit card. Really poor service. The story gets even better… Which is why I’m cancelling. They made a mistake and charged me two memberships at once (for the same person). I told them over and over again at the gym to fix it. But they didn’t. So I cancelled my credit card to avoid the double charge constantly happening after months. Even though I was in credit with them (due to over payments). They sent ARMA debt collectors after me. Who threatened my credit rating. After 38 emails and 27 phone calls I finally convinced ARMA to prompt Bodyfit, who recognised the double membership and finally called them off. How much time I wasted on this is mind blowing. I noticed many other people making similar complains. Also I should mention the equipment is old and frequently broken. But I was okay with that. What I wasn’t okay with is the above… Shameful Bodyfit, shameful.

Fantastic experience: Happy for 24/7 access. Almost had the place to myself. Good, clean equipment. Just wish the air con was more effective, I can't train on a hot day there.

Negative experience: Ive passed out 3 times in this gym due to the heat. Aircon has been broken since 2021 and refuse to fix it because it costs $700 which is ironic because they corner you into a one year contract, charge an extra $10 for every missed payment, and on top of all that they leave machines and equipment broken for months. Upon me joining the sauna was out of order for 6 months. All these positive reviews are fakes as they offer free protein shakes, shakers, accessories and more to everyone who leaves a positive review (myself included). Please for the love of god do not sign up for this gym, you will regret it.

Negative experience: Bodyfit have been incorrectly charging my girlfriend since August despite trying to cancel her membership. She has contacted them several times to have it cancelled yet through annoying and tiresome bureaucracy they never do. They are threatening to send her to ARMA debt collection despite it being their negligence. Disgraceful, just got to Club Lime. Much better facilities and at a cheaper cost

Positive experience: Came by today to visit, have a look, and probably sign up. After recommendation from friends and because it's close to my workplace. Look nice. But the 2 reception girls are way too busy doing their own business. One sitting on the rest area with her laptop on the table, I knew she saw me, not even bothering to greet and the other on the reception too busy talking to her friends on the mobile phone facing the wall. For over 5 mins, I felt like a ghost looking around to see what equipment they had, and then I decided that this is just another one of those gym-in-a-can, good equipment but bad customer service.

Positive experience: I joined Bodyfit in Marrickville back in July and my experience so far is mostly positive: - You are always being met with a greet and a smile. The interaction with the staff, personal trainers and group instructors feels genuine and is unmatched compared to the many gyms I've tried before. A big plus! - They have a wide range of different group classes and so far I've tried yoga and circuit. It's a fun environment and the group instructors and fellow gym members support one another to achieve our goals. - It's a very inclusive environment, everyone's welcome and as a new member I feel like I've been welcomed with open arms. - New facilities with showers, sauna and jacuzzi. - Open 24/7 A few things that could be improved: - When I signed up I mentioned that my partner may be interested in joining the gym but not at this stage and if they would put his name and number down he does not wish to be contacted. I appreciate that sometimes there's miscommunication between team members and everyone does make mistakes, but my partner was contacted multiple times - to the point where I had to ask them to stop contacting him. Unfortunately they continued to do so even after requesting this to stop. - Many people before me have mentioned the fact that the temperature easily reaches an uncomfortable level and I do agree. Making an investment in a proper air conditioning system as a gym should be a top priority and it would definitely make me update this review to a five star one if succeeding in accomodating this request that so many members are asking for. Overall great gym and great place to workout, happy I found Bodyfit!

Negative experience: Patrons are so stupid.. don’t know how to put equipment and dumbbells back correctly. They do dumbbell and bodyweight/equipment-free workouts in the squat rack area, taking up room for people who actually want to lift weights. People decide to do circuit training and take up three pieces of equipment at the busiest of times. Staff are useless and occasionally stuck-up, just sit at the front desk or aren’t even there sometimes during business hours!

Fantastic experience: Just joined the gym. Had a 1 hour circuit series class with Matthew. Really enjoyed!! Great teacher, I tried to give up because I was tired many times but he kept pushing me Will be doing more classes for sure

Negative experience: The fitness room here has no ventilation, makes it impossible to do a class in there, pushing 35 degrees. Have been asking for an airconditioner to be installed for over a year, management said they will fix it, and havent in over a year, dont recommend this place

Fantastic experience: Bodyfit Marrickville is dead set one of the best gyms I have joined, I recently joined and was one of the best decisions I have made all year, with their great customer service behind the desk the team there are polite, friendly and well knowledged, you are always greated with a smile. The gym offers a huge selection of gym equipment and work out are with a indoor sauna and believe it or not a jacuzzi, there is also a protein shake bar I would highly recommend one after your work out. Wheelchair friendly I must add. Located right near the first floor car park at the metro shopping centre such a breeze with ample amount of free undercover parking available. This gym is very well maintained, clean and extremely good lighting. I would highly recommend this gym over the other gyms out there.

Negative experience: I went in for a 2 week trial and signed up for 6 months as my current gym was restructuring so I had no issues signing up, HOWEVER, I was pressured into signing up my husband as well even though he wasn't even with me and had never been to the gym at the time so they said I could sign him up and he can cancel within 2 weeks at no charge. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FREE TRIAL. He called up after 7 days and was told they would cancel it but he was still debited the admin fee $20 and membership fee after 14 days. He called and was told he had to email to cancel even though he called them and was told it was cancelled. I followed up twice to get his money refunded and both times nothing was done and all I get is "we will follow up" Its now been 6 months and I've cancelled my membership and went back to my previous gym and probably will not be referring anyone for the trial as I think it's just to get sales. Maybe work on retaining members too instead of new memberships. In regards to the gym itself - its very basic if that's what you're after. Staff have always been nice and friendly. It's quiet and empty most days which some people might like but it lacks any sort of motivational atmosphere. The classes come with the membership but there are not enough time slots which I can understand is probably because they don't have a large enough number of memberships. CRECHE - one of the worst rooms I've ever seen for a gym creche and really needs alot done to it. I actually felt bad leaving my son in there. Please get rid of the filthy, dirty lounge in the room, I wouldn't even wanna sit on that. Its a tiny room with old toys and a tv. I booked my son in once and they just turned on a tv for him and let him watch for the whole hour. Also, why is the aircon always so low, if there even is one? It's always so hot in there.

Negative experience: Went in for a trial as my current membership is about to expire. was all good to go and the club manager came over to advise because i still had a current membership at another gym I would have to sign up with them for a 7 day trial where i could cancel and provide my credit card details... i walked out. I would give ZERO stars if I could and have crossed bodyfit off my list of gyms to go to in Sydney. Probably as bad as fitness first lol.

Negative experience: Machines don’t work, spa smells and doesn’t work, toilets aren’t clean, over priced, really small, people don’t rerack weights and low quality machines. Would not recommend.
