Fantastic experience: The best in the area

Positive experience: Owner/manager a bit odd, high pressure sales techniques. No thanks. Decent equipment though. Plenty of other gyms nearby.

Negative experience: Inappropriate and creepy behaviour, avoid.

Negative experience: THE MANAGER IS A CREEP!!! My partner was hit on by the manager when she was trying to get a lower rate as she was massively overpaying. The manager then put a piece of paper in front of her and told her to sign to get a cheaper rate without telling her this extends her contract over a year. Now she wants to cancel the membership because of the advances of the manager but Anytime won’t let her unless she pays $600. Plenty of other good gyms in the area, go there and don’t give these people your money.

Positive experience: If you live near, it might be a good joint for you. Good side Close to Southland and have a dedicated parking spaces in the back . More space if you want to walk from Southland parking lot which is opposite of the gym . This place is relatively clear. Patrons are friendly and respectful- overall. Service- with invite friends and get free weeks - it's not as easy and clear as it sounds. Team members- with the time I've been here- about a year- almost 100 percent new team members. Environment- Recently, this gym had a facelift. The downside is that the residual chemical smell wasn't being properly dealt .

Negative experience: Terrible gym and staff, will not let me leave my lock in contract regardless of my changes circumstances and isn’t helpful at all, badgers anyone that comes in for a casual session to try and sign up, do not recommend.

Negative experience: I came in to train and everything I tried to use was empty; the soap dispenser, two bottles of hand sanitiser and the air freshener in the bathroom. Sanitation should be a gyms number one priority. On top of this three of the treadmills weren’t turned on with no signage to indicate this, resulting in members unable to use them. Everytime I come in the vending machine is pretty much empty. People were training on a squat rack that was missing screws so it wasn’t properly attached to the ground which is a huge safety issue. This club at Cheltenham is devoid of proper care, a sense of community and a good leadership team. Although this is my closest gym, I prefer not to come here.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service over the phone. If I could give this place a lower review I would. Called up to start a gym membership through TAC- which is hard enough as it is. The man I spoke to said he wouldn't send the quote of a membership to the TAC email because he had 'better things to do'.

Positive experience: There are still not enough plates (2.5, 5, and 10kg) in the back section. Every time I come in, one of the racks is often stripped of plates, which can make it difficult to work around. Can't say the new layout is better or worse. Some more signage saying to rack your weights would be good, people are leaving barbells full of plates!

Fantastic experience: Well guys., they’ve renovated the gym NEw EQUIPMENT.. head on down check it out!!

Positive experience: Pretty decent gym

Negative experience: Disappointing range of equipment, often machines not in operation. Had multiple poor experiences with staff - from being signed up for memberships not verbally agreed to, to cancellation fees. Much better value and staff experiences elsewhere.

Negative experience: DONT GO TO THIS GYM!! The owner is lousy. He didn't allow me a free trial simply because I was unsure of whether or not I wanted to sign up. Unbelievable. Aside from owner being extremely disrespectful and rude, the place was incredibly dirty, the plans are highly overpriced, and the equipment was old.

Fantastic experience: Amazing club tour and experience. Club Manager Parham made me feel welcomed and heard soon as I walked in the club.

Negative experience: EXTREMELY POOR ATTITUDE and HORRIBLE customer service skills from the new manager Parham. My pass successfully granted me access and instead of saying hi like a normal human being, he has the nerve to stop me at the entrance. He kept repeating "you're not a member" several times. No "Hi, how are you, how are things". At first I thought he was joking, but later I realised that the clown was actually being serious. He was acting as if I'm a complete stranger and just totally disregarded me (even though I trained him in his role, being the former manager there). Absolutely ZERO communication or appreciation from manager or owner to let me know my services as a PT had been ceased. Never met such self-absorbed, egotistical people in my life. Complete lack of professionalism and hyper arrogance to the point where you just don't want to train there any longer. They were probably fine with me showing up to the gym one day and being denied access instead of sending me any form of communication as a courtesy to let me know I'd need to resign as a member. Goodbye to a sad AF Cheltenham. You're going to need to fix your game if you want to survive amongst the bigger and better clubs in the Bayside area. I've been to plenty of AF clubs in Melbourne, all of which have grasped the concept of customer service and being nice to your members. Signed up at AF Brunswick last week, a club that actually looks after their members and former employees, shows respect and creates a warm and welcoming vibe to train in. Both manager and owner have some lessons to learn about not just being obsessed with numbers and monthly sales targets, but also prioritising the service and feel of a club. Not stepping foot in this gym AGAIN. My response to management's comment: I suggest you read the full review before responding to comments in future. If you did this, you will realise that the source of my frustration has very little to do with my access to the club. It is the lack of communication about my personal training contract being cancelled / voided by the owner (I am still awaiting formal notification of this). It is also the complete lack of customer service. Extremely disappointed that the manager is not even capable of greeting an ex staff member before going on a rant about how he has denied my access, then continuing on to serve another customer. Your comment "as discussed" refers to a discussion that has never actually taken place. I also thank you for the insult to my intelligence by making the major assumption that I did not understand the terms of my agreement. This just once again proves my claim about the arrogant and self-absorbed nature of current management. Well done!

Negative experience: Enquired about a promotional $200 voucher for new sign ups for my partner. The morning on the day we agreed to come in, he calls my girlfriend to confirm. She picks up and says "Hello *girlfriend's name* speaking", which the manager replied to by mimicking/mocking her, repeating exactly that back "Hello *girlfriends name* speaking". For some reason, he seemed to think that was an intelligent and humourous thing to do. Upon coming in, he proceeded to insult me and my girlfriend during the sign up process by making wildly inappropriate comments about our relationship that I will not repeat publicly here. One example, however - upon my girlfriend not remembering my phone number for the emergency contact, she used her mum instead and explained she remembers it because she grew up as a child remembering her number. In response, the manager looks to me and says "look how she gets around it!". He then claimed he would be giving us "3 weeks free". I asked about the $200 credit which turns out actually covers a $99 enrolment fee (He claimed on the phone there was no enrolment fee and the $200 credit was seperate to that). That leaves $101 of credit. I then asked about that and he said he is giving us 3 weeks free to "cover" that credit. The weekly fee is $18, so I said that only adds up to $54. For some reason, this seemed to hit an emotional nerve with him. He suddenly became agressive and said "dont you get it?". He then claimed he is giving us a water bottle and a towel to cover the rest. I said we dont want a drink bottle or a towel and regardless, they are not worth the remaining $47 - so I said that is not $101. After he had already insulted my girlfriend and our reltionship, he then thought it was a bright idea to attempt to insult my intelligence by suggesting that "it's almost $101" and therefore we should be satisfied, as if 'almost' is good enough, which it wasn't even regardless. At this point we had had enough of his frankly disgusting behaviour and walked out to the tune of him throwing more insults at us. When he realised he had fumbled the bag and we were legitimately walking out on him, it was evident he thought it must have been some sort of negotiation ploy because he started saying things to try get us to come back in. For the record, I don't know if he was actually the manager, although I am assuming this because he claimed he was. In conclusion, the most shockingly embarassing sales attempts I have ever witnessed and been subject to. Protip, try not to insult the people you are trying to sign up, their relationship and their intelligence. Further, try not to engage in misleading and deceptive practices that are beached of the Australian Consumer Law.

Negative experience: Seems like a good gym until you walk near the change rooms and breath in. WOWZA the Smell is TERRIBLE!

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness gym in Cheltenham, Melbourne is well-equipped with modern and high-quality machines and equipment. The staff are always friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, making fitness journey enjoyable and motivating. What I love most is the 24/7 access, which allows me to work out whenever it suits my schedule. Fantastic experience: Terrific local gym. Been coming here 2 years now, the equipment and set up are top notch as always, but happily the new managers Richard & crew have brought an even more positive and inclusive attitude to the space. Great place for a work out and to get your vibe going!

Negative experience: Came in the morning on a Wednesday to suss out membership. No answering phone calls, no staff during staffed hours. Very disappointed.

It's not like other gyms where your judged the moment you walk in. It's been a incredible experience so far and I look forward to continuing with my time here.

Fantastic experience: I usually attend in the morning and appreciate that the floor to ceiling windows allow in plenty of natural light. The main room is always clean and has designated areas for cardio, free or machine weights. Numerous cardio machines available to vary your workout. Change rooms are clean/fresh and there is usually a supply of deodorants on hand for members to use. Gym has members of all ages who I have found to be considerate and willing to assist if needed. It has a good atmosphere & is a safe place to exercise.

Negative experience: Not happy with their services at ALL. I kindly for months have been explaining to them that I would like to cancel my membership due to having to go back to my country of origin due to personal reasons and they’ve been freezing my membership as I was supposed to be back. Once I have mentioned to them that I can’t be back in Australia, they’re asking almost $400 from me. I have all the necessary proof that I had to leave the country & go home but they’re asking money from me. Do not sign up with them they will trap you into a membership, although you are on the other side of the world. Ridiculous

Fantastic experience: First visit to the gym, it is very clean and well maintained! The equipment is fantastic, some advanced machines that I have not seen at other gyms, great floor space for workouts. The amenities were freshly cleaned and hygienic! The Club manager Kay was great, patiently gave a training session as part of the membership. Would definitely recommend over other gyms in the area!

Negative experience: Good location, good equipment. However how poor of a condition and the lack of cleaning is disgusting. Also had the manager extremely rude and has harassed me on several occasions. You would rather go to any small time local gym in the area. Better experiences and you will save money. Your'e welcome. Attached is one of several photos I found on my phone of my time at this place. Someone shaving and not washing it down the sink in the gym. The 2nd photo proves the location.

Fantastic experience: Clean, tidy, no gorillas slamming weights, great quality equipment

Positive experience: Facilities are good, but the means of wiping down equipment is ridiculous. Get paper towel, walk 10m to sanitising spray, find a bin. Just get wet wipes, AF fees are pretty high, you can afford wet wipes at every station like Brighton.

Fantastic experience: These guys are the best in the business. Friendly faces, they remember your name and the facilities through covid were clean and safe to use. Couldn't recommend more. 10/10

Fantastic experience: Made the switch from another gym about a year ago and so glad I did. All the staff members who work there are extremely friendly and there is always plenty of free equipment and a good range. Couldn’t ask for much more from a gym, couldn’t recommend it more.

Positive experience: A home away from home. You'll find a varied level of community at their gym's. Some are incredibly welcoming, where as others may present themselves as purely utilitarian. Either way you're going to receive a baseline level of gymness that is overall decent.

Negative experience: Do not sign here! The club managers lie to get you to sign a contract and then don't uphold it! So disappointed and will be contacting head office immediately.

Fantastic experience: You'll find the staff (during opening hours) friendly and easy to talk to. There is generally enough space to get your workout done in peace although peak times are obviously busy. Lots of treadmills and cross trainers. No secure bag lockup.

Fantastic experience: First train here, very impressed. Nice facilities with great machinery, plenty of free weights, extensive selection of cardio equipment. Water fountain, admin service during work hours, friendly staff and plenty of atmosphere. Highly recommend.

NO I DON'T WANT TO JOIN YOUR GYM NO I DON'T WANT RECEIVE YOUR EMAILS YES I FOUND A BETTER GYM. That's not smally, pushy and ANNOYING LIKE YOU ya cockroaches. They provide wonderful classes throughout the day to help with any type of fitness goal you want to achieve. There's always a very happy and friendly vibe when you walk into this establishment, coming from the friendly staff and members as well as their friendly competitions that they hold from time to time which is a nice motivation to work a little bit harder. The gym is kept at a very high standard of cleanliness, from when i first signed up, 2 years ago up to this day. I am a very happy member of Anytime Fitness and will not be leaving anytime soon :)

The use of space is well thought out with up to date equipment and great facilities. Andrew has always managed to have great staff on hand to offer a smile upon entry, and leaving.

When i signed up 3 months ago and the first time i went to the gym for a workout the manager in there greeted me by my name. It sounds simple but with so many members already there and the newbies signing up props to Emma for remembering it. Great business practice :)

I drive past two other Anytimes to continue to use Cheltenham and would recommend this gym to everyone.

Fantastic experience: This is a great Gym!! Very friendly & helpful staff. The facilities are always clean and tidy. Ive also found most of the members friendly and willing help any one new. Theres a good variety of machines, free weights, and functional equipment that you can utilise. Theres a bit of room, to do the free Hiit and yoga classes or train with a friend or two. Ive been a member for coming up to three years, and I don't see my self changing gyms.

Fantastic experience: I'm lucky this is my local gym as I've visited plenty around Melbourne and this is the best! Spacious, clean, well layed out equipment. Loads of brand new cardio equipment. Huge rack of free weights and benches so you're not waiting forever during busy periods. Great new functional area which allows for great circuit type workouts. Even have meditation classes! Good, friendly atmosphere! 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training here since early 2017 and never looked back.. I prefer to keep to myself when training, but the staff still always offer a smile and say gday. Cleanest anytime I’ve been to.. and contrasting to other AFs, the tap is always working Also recently renovated!

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a good variety and amount of equipment. I like that various classes that they offer with a bunch of classes scattered across the day. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and they are always upgrading equipment which is a nice treat. I like they have almost monthly workout competitions which gets the competitive juices flowing. I have been a member for 3 years and have not reason not to be for another 3 years as they keep getting better. Thanks Cheltenham anytime fitness

Many thanks to Andrew & for his exceptional service. i was a member many many years ago, receiving a phone call out of the blue just to say hi & asking if i had a chance to see the upgrade to the gym, made me think again about joining up, so after popping in- what can i say my son and myself where very impressed, we both signed up on the spot, Great job guys, keep it up.
