Negative experience: I joined the Mooroolbark Goodlife Gym through a promotion, and paid for a personal training session. At the beginning, I requested to book this PT session, and the receptionist assured me she would arrange it—but she never did. After about a month , I followed up by calling the gym and spoke to Charlie at reception. I requested the PT session I had paid for and also informed her that I planned to cancel my membership at the end of the 3-month period I had signed up for. She questioned my decision, asking the reason I am trying to use the PT session when I am planning to cancel and whether I was planning to switch to another gym. I found this frustrating, as I was simply asking for a service I had already paid for. Later, I injured my back and provided the gym with a medical certificate stating I couldn’t use the gym for the next three months. Despite this, the receptionist refused to cancel my membership, claiming the medical certificate needed to state I was unable to attend indefinitely. Their refusal to accommodate my situation was incredibly disappointing. They just kept charging although they knew I am unable to use the gym and have been in just couple of times in the 3 months. This experience has left me frustrated and dissatisfied—I will not be returning.

Negative experience: Super busy gym with old machines and keep adding members with no future plan for improvement. Some of the machines are actually useless and just took space! You cant find free machine to exercise if you go between 5pm-8pm! Despite of having a limited time for Sona, staffs trying to cut the Sona time to go home a bit earlier! Look at other alternative gyms if you can.

Negative experience: It is always sooooo busy, especially with school kids that huddle around equipment in groups of 5, the variety of equipment is shocking, the layout is shocking, the music is genuinely unbearable. This is a classic big chain gym. I regret signing a contract.

Negative experience: It is 4:40pm Sunday. The staff is just gone. But staff trading hour is until 5pm. So many people is looking for staff now. To use sauna or want to join this club. However no one is here. Irresponsible.

Negative experience: When I wanted to cancel my membership, they told me I cannot do it due to being on one year contract and the cancellation fee is 240$. Noone has informed me about this when I was signing the contract. They told me I could sell my membership on Facebook marketplace... I advice not to waste your time with this facility

Negative experience: The staff at this gym has no regards for their customers, my son has been going to the gym every morning for the last month and has put in complaints regarding other members that break the company policies i.e.; members walking around with no footwear or socks (bare feet), this is a hygienic issue and they have confirmed it's not part of the company policies, they are aware who the member is and is not actioning the complaint. After advising the staff member behind the front desk she just kept on reading her book without any action.

Fantastic experience: Such a great community vibe in this place.. I've been in a crazy place as of late, moved to this area for a fresh start. The way I was treated not only at sign up but on a daily basis by the staff at the desk, especially Lily, Anita and Shane, was and is so professional.. It felt like I belonged straight away.. Negative experience: Through my recent experience staff don't take paying members seriously and completely dismiss any reasonable and polite complaint. Also when cancelling, for the last and final time, hung up in my ear before I had the opportunity to clarify whether I needed to give 30 days notice....again. Absolutely poor and unacceptable customer service...do better! Otherwise facilities are adequate however bathrooms are small. Feel free to wear what ever your heart desires, as long as uour comfortable and happy. Doesn't matter if it's revealing or possibly offensive as NO ONE can say a dam thing. Enter at your own risk and enjoy

Negative experience: Not happy with my experience with this gym. Been trying to cancel my membership for over 6 months. They talked me through the sales pitch of pay month to month and you can walk out anytime and now they want a walk out fee. I’ve spoken to 4 people over 6 months trying to deactivate my membership, as of now im still a no lock in contract forced gym member. Yes membership is still going… “I’ve put that forward for you” Avoid at all costs - go to power house instead half the price and easy to deal with . I guess I’ll just keep trying to get through to this gym that I don’t want to be a member

Negative experience: Really poor attitude here. The level of respect towards females in the gym was appalling . This gym seems to still support the sexist attitude of the fitness industry and views about women belonging in the gym. Felt harassed and sexualised. Management must be pretty poor if this is how PTs are allowed to treat females in a gym space. Disappointed in whoever handles this gym for this toxic environment

Negative experience: They cancelled my direct debit on their end and then added late payment fees onto it. I asked them back in December to cancel membership but they keep charging it. They say they're going to keep charging it for another month despite my cancellation request. Nat on the front desk claims there is nothing in their system regarding cancellation, while then listing all the emails I'd sent since December.

Negative experience: This gym has no consideration to people who are not using their membership even though you have a valid reason to cancel. It is very hard to cancel membership that I need to pay first (even though I am not in a contract). Gym has stop the child minding services (the only reason I came back at the first place). Will not be recommending this gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and prompt service from the time I walked in over two years ago. As an older (very) participant I have found floor staff most willing to vary their programmes to suit my special needs and tolerant of my shortcomings (and goings) without making me feel like a freak. Thanks to Charley, Caitlin, Carley and Jacinta - I'm staying with Goodlife Moorooolbark where they make me feel one of the Family. Goodlife, indeed.

Negative experience: Mediocre. Main issue is staff are poor at communication and generally can't even muster a good morning as you enter. They refuse to recognise they no longer offer the services that have brought members there, and dismissive when they bring it up and explain why it's important to them as a client. (Ladies Gym) Steam room is continually breaking. Have also politely commented on overfilled sanitary bins and gum in the showers, and was met with brushed off 'ok we'll look into it' Not a bad gym if you're confident and know what you're doing independently, but if you want the little extra support and services (that you pay for) look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for over 14 years! This club is my weekly "go to" for heath, fitness and that community feeling. Classes are fantastic, great instructors, easy parking, good equipment and club is always making improvements . Pump cafe out the front for coffee afterwards and catch up with friends. GoodLife caters for all ages and fitness levels, I highly recommend over any other gym in the area

Negative experience: If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I went here for a few months and they locked me into the 12 month contract. I did the right thing and waited out my 12 month contract, I call up to be told that there is a 30 day cancellation period and I should’ve read the contract, that was 20 pages long. They were very unhelpful and just kept referring to this contract I signed, however when I did sign up no one ever pointed this clause out. I mentioned I now live 40km from this gym and the girl didn’t care at all. What a disgrace to charge people when they physically can’t get to the gym.

Fantastic experience: Well spaced out. They even have a massage centre and a massive aerobic fitness area. The staff are very pleasant and easy to talk to. There is 1 feedback to be given and this is related to health and safety. Please advice people to not wear on thongs to the gym, high chance of a dumbell falling on their foot. The staff should pay a little more attention. Other than that I don't see any other flaw. Good job guys keep up the good work.

Negative experience: Just doesn't hit the spot for me. I toured it twice after my gym shut down and they only seemed interested in signing me up and locking me into a contract. Then you have to hire a PT, that they couldn't even tell me the cost of, as they apparently work independently of the gym. They were not interested in my needs. Give it a miss.

Negative experience: I'm not even a member of this gym and I'm going to post a review. I was looking specifically for a Zumba class to start and new they ran through gyms but didn't realise I would need a membership. When I got there they asked what I was looking for so I told them and then it was seriously like they didn't care they just wanted money from a new membership....this was a month ago, I didn't join, and I'm still getting phone calls!!! I was also subscribed to sms's from them without my knowing or authorising. Pushy doesn't even start to describe it and it's a real turn off. I went in 2 different gyms that day (didn't mention the 2nd to them at all) beand the difference was astounding. The first gym talked all about the class I wanted and very much listened to me. GoodLife on the other hand where ready then and there to call the manager to get a deal if I'd join that day they were that desperate! Both gyms said they would call the following week to see if I was still looking, so you'd expect maybe on the weds...this gym called on the Monday...that's only 2 days AND CLEARLY paid no attention to me when I said I work between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The other gym did wait till Wednesday and called at 5:30pm...which gym would you choose?! (Also fyi this is the 2nd time I have experienced this with this gym. Same thing happened the first time when I WAS trying to find one to join, God knows why I went back)

Negative experience: My Daughter canceled in April with a hefty payment taken as reimbursement to Goodlife for canceling and all of a sudden they begin to debit money from her bank account in December…to be continued!

Negative experience: It's pretty much the same complaint as the rest of the reviews. The equipment is old, worn out, dirty, and not well-maintained. Also, I really don't understand the deal with bolting the recline benches to the floor. There's only one mobile recline bench available which is mostly occupied. I understand you may have concerns in the past with people stealing the benches, but surely there are other solutions to the problem? This is not the only 24 hour gym around...

Positive experience: After 6 thick shakes from the MacDonalds next door I sat in the carpark and thought .. if I could drink 6 of these ones why not .. take .. on .. THE WORLD? So I didn't .. out of a combination of unbridled enthusiasm and confusion I joint the gym next door.. pretty good equipment and bathrooms need a good clean.

Negative experience: Have had a membership for over 1.5 years and out of my original 12 month contract, I have been diagnosed with an injury which has forced me to cancel my membership. I am still going to be charged another 30 days post my phone call of me cancelling when I can’t even use the gym. Absolutely terrible service will never recommend goodlife to anyone I know. Smaller independent gyms all the way.

Fantastic experience: After much procrastination, I felt it was time to sign up at the local Gym being Goodlife in Mooroolbark. Being an old 'Mooroolbark Boy', there was a touch of nastalgia walking through the entrance to what was once known as 'The Roller Ranch' in my youthful days many moons ago. From the onset, the expansiveness of Goodlife was very noticable with well thought out areas of the gym inclusive of cardio, free weights, every work out machine imaginable along with seperate spacious areas for yoga & pilates classes, stretching, ab work etcetera. There are plentiful options available with your fitness regime. From dietary advice, to complete fitness plans suited specifically for each individual, with Personal Training guidance another option.There is also a Sauna on hand along with refurbished and very tasteful change rooms with all the amenities. Cleanliness as a whole is excellen throughout. Both Nat & Sian were very friendly and professional in their manner which is a credit to Goodlife Mooroolbark.

Negative experience: I will never jion this club again and highly recomend you dont they will debit your account and threaten you with debt collectors if you dont pay even though you dont go to the club very poor

Fantastic experience: Had breakfast at the GoodLife Pump Cafe with my son, after he had finished a gym work out. Was delighted with my meal, and the coffee was also delicious.

Negative experience: I don’t think one staff member ever smiled and said hello to me. The cardio equipment were always getting ‘fixed’, the weight machines are old and very heavy to move, expensive contracts that trap you in with misleading information and nothing is complimentary... the ‘free’ programs and check ins every month is a LIE. The group fitness was the only half decent thing.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service. Calls never returned. Careless attitude. I preferred to pay the penalty of $240 for early terminating the contract rather than continuing with this gym.

Positive experience: Whilst the equipment has been upgraded it's disappointing that after 3 years with the club my membership has just been increased to just over $18pl per week. Wouldn't have an issue if they weren't offering new members 13.95 per week, loyalty unfortunately isn't valued

Negative experience: Doesn't really care about members, offered free personal training sessions and the trainers only went on about how they aren't getting paid for this, for pricing yes its got more a sauna but other then that nothing special I find that more then 3-5 machines are always out of services and takes between 2weeks to a month to service, also they put me on the wrong contract I am a student and I should be put on a anytime cancelation contract but unfortunately not. they actually put me on the wrong contract and now I have to pay 200-350 dollars to cancel as a student.

Negative experience: Terrible service from the moment I signed up with Goodlife. Members now receive a price hike in fee's with no notification or explanation from Goodlife. I call to discuss to be told I would be contacted within the day then days later receive no call back. I then have to call again to receive a more then poor response from a staff member. Would not recommend Goodlife.

Positive experience: If you are coming to use gym as you like its great. But if you are looking for a PT id be very selective. Everyday i see the same PTs constantly sitting on equipment scroll social media while the paying customer is standing about waiting on next set/exercises. ( female PTs are the go too here. Stay away from majority of the make PTs )

Positive experience: It's a good gym. Gets busy at peak times, and car parking can be a bit tough to find when there are classes on but otherwise I like it. Reception is pretty friendly too!

Positive experience: Good gym, everything is nicely organised and in sections I.e cardio, free weights etc. Could have some more free space to work out circuits but it's still doable

Negative experience: good gym but they kept telling me that I was behind payments and I was not because I payed two months in advance and then they stole $100 money and told me it was a mistake and would pay me back and have not still and they told me that 2 weeks ago
