Negative experience: As you can see from more reviews, they take money from your account, charge for things that don’t exist, and I’ve been trying to resolve an ‘overdue payment’ for over 4 months. I canceled my membership because they were stealing money from my account, but they still haven’t resolved it and are trying to charge me almost $200 for a fee that doesn’t exist. Even after 2 months of canceling my membership, they keep taking money from my account. BEWARE, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!

Negative experience: I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Goodlife Burleigh that I feel compelled to share. Recently, I was wrongly accused of tailgating, and the way the situation was handled has left me very dissatisfied. When I first contacted the gym to address the issue, I was told to send an email. I did so promptly, only to receive a response directing me to reply to the initial email—which turned out to be a no-reply address! This lack of communication is unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. To make matters worse, I was charged without being asked for consent regarding the alleged incident. When I attempted to dispute the charge, I was met with dismissive responses and told that I did, in fact, tailgate, despite my vehement denial of the accusation. To top it off, they refuse to show me any footage that could clarify the situation. The service I received throughout this process has been abysmal, and the way I have been treated is appalling. I expected better from a reputable gym. I strongly urge others to consider their options before joining Goodlife Burleigh. This experience has been very disappointing, and I feel completely unheard and unjustly treated.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs!!! I joined this gym at a reduced rate, and my partner also joined a few days later, however they refused to honour the reduced rate for him as the promotion no longer applied (there was absolutely no mention of the end date of the promotion). This should have been our first sign to run. Once I finally ended my contract there is a 30 day period you must keep paying the fees for, so your contract is actually a month longer than you sign up for. My partners’ contract is a longer one and has just ended three months ago, however there has been no response to his multiple emails through the sites contact form (when we called the location the girl told us that sometimes the form just “doesn’t send anything”). He called and was told it would be cancelled, however three months on we are STILL being charged. We have had the contract cancelled today, however despite the fact we have tried for three months to cancel, there is “nothing they can do” about the month of extra fees. We are appalled with this and the fact that they do not have a contact email. When we asked how to get a refund for the three months we were told we had been cancelled for, the girl said to contact their debt collectors??? TLDR, do NOT get into a contract here.

Negative experience: Today I got a call from the gym manager asking me to take down a recent negative review. If you are reading this, please take my warning to not come here. The staff don’t care about their members. The gym is old and not up to date like other Goodlife Gyms. Discussed an incident with the Gym manager about a staff member and he denied any wrongdoing on their behalf and then proceeded to ask that I take down my negative reviews, stating, “It was unnecessary and unreasonable.” For too long service industries have not been held accountable for their staff or lack of qualify service. Customer service is almost a foreign concept in Australia. I will not take down my review and for even suggesting that I do without resolution is the reason for this review. In all my life, I have never experienced such terrible customer service and even worse feedback from a business manager. All other negative comments support this view. I will never come back to this gym.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE!! The service at this gym is atrocious. The guy and girl at the counter had no interest in serving members. I was never greeted when I walked in, this guy didn’t even acknowledge me when I went to buy some meals. He just continued to talk to his friends. When I walked out I ever turned my head and said bye but never got a response. Honestly don’t feel wanted at this gym. To the management of this gym, search the cameras at 7PM. You can see clearly see the terrible service I received. I left World Gym because of the customer service and thought Goodlife would be better. I’ll be signing back up with World Gym, at least they have better equipment and facilities.

Fantastic experience: 10/10. Id highly reccomend goodlife burleigh. I love the group classes. I thought it would be boring but it's really fun. The instructors are wonderful. The yoga is AWESOME. The yoga instructors even add in the spiritual aspects of yoga which is so nice and interesting. I love the breathwork and meditation in yoga classes. Such good value with unlimited group classes. I save so much money getting my yoga and fitness all in one place. Good swimming pool. The womens gym room is good. Most women want to use one particular machine so having two of those would be better, I believe it is called abductor or adductor machine. I love being a member here.

Fantastic experience: I joined Goodlife Gyms about 5 months ago. The Staff at Burleigh were so friendly and accommodating, I signed up there - although I go to different branches some days depending on my favourite classes. Fantastic experience: The Gym is five star in every way, from the staff to the facilities and of course the equipment. All pretty well maintained too summer heat not a problem aS the gym is very airy and of course air conditioning works very well

Positive experience: My expectations of Goodlife Health Clubs Burliegh Waters have been met. Most of the Instructors of their Reform Pilates class are more than just instructors but make educating the class part of the session. I consider this to be a bonus - big thanks to Yuri. Massive improvement to overall body strength and condition. Maintenance of change room has room to improve. The biggest issue thus far is the foul smell emitting from floor drain outlet closest to the sauna/ male change room entrance. If these matters were dealt within 2 weeks, great and it would be 5 stars. However it’s been over 9 weeks despite front desk being informed.

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed the Body Combat Class with instructor- Magda. Always endeavour to attend either her class or Aaron’s B/Combat when visiting the Gold Coast from Brisbane. Both instructors are professional & passionate communicators… you couldn’t ask for more…. If you haven’t tried Body Combat - it’s a must…. Stay with it for at least 3 weeks of classes until you hit your stride…. feeling empowered through this extensive MMA - Mixed Martial Arts work out! Well done.

Positive experience: Facilities are good but it’s too crowded at during peak hour and not enough equipment so you will spend a fair bit of time on waiting

Negative experience: Yesterday ive left an item at the gym and when i called to ask if someone has found it the lady on the phone was laughing like she couldn't care less. Not to mention the equipment that is broken and never gets fixed.

Negative experience: Don’t become a member of this gym, they will steal your money. I presented a medical certificate a 2 weeks ago, the staff member who took it, has submitted my certificate only yesterday. They took my membership card since I dropped the medical certificate and they still charge me, so I don’t have access but they still taken my money.

Fantastic experience: I love how much Goodlife has to offer at such a great price. I’m a reformer Pilates fan so this is where they stand out for me. So many time options, different teachers which I love the uniqueness of each teacher, gets me out of my comfort zone. I have also recently been loving the steam & sauna after working out. ️✨

Negative experience: I tried to cancel my Pilates class this afternoon but I missed the two hour window by 5 minutes because I was on hold on the phone, I spoke to Pete, the manager. However as a manager I was so appalled by his attitude and lack of understanding. he did not allow me to cancel but there has been multiple times this has been allowed via phone call due to certain circumstances but there was no consideration. I am so extremely disappointed the staff are usually lovely but clearly management needs improvement I understand there are policies in place however a little kindness goes a long way especially working in customer service, might even make you a better person. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Goodlife for more than 2 years. I really enjoy going there and look forward to the classes. Negative experience: Things break and don’t get fixed. One of 2 leg presses has been down 70% of the last 12 months, currently been out of action for 6 weeks. Picture of urinal attached has been blocked now for 10 days , after highlighting yesterday it now has a witches hat as well as an out of order sign. Dumbbells constantly loose never tightened , gym managers who don’t know how a gym runs. Since rebrand to goodlife this gym has gone downhill massively. Constantly at least 10-15% of machines out of action for extended periods

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy reform pilates at Goodlife, the variation in daily choreography, always interesting and motivating, wonderful for strength, mobility, flexibility, balance and maintaining a healthy weight, so many benefits.

Negative experience: they shut their aircon off at 9pm. i finish work at 9 every night get to the gym and its like an oven in there. I almost pass out when im working out you make enough money to not shut the aircon off
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for 10 years I kept my membership mostly because I enjoyed the pool, as most do I was ready to cancel my membership when my husband kept pointing out I wasn't using it. Just in time a friend suggested I should try Reforma Pilates. I love the classes, I feel good after a class, I feel stronger now with my golf swing, I have trouble with my knees however I feel the improvement there also. The classes go for just the right length of time 45mins, the instructors are very helpful and friendly. My husband is happy because now I am back using my membership.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. Beware false info being given over on sign up, Fair Trading even said it was wrong. Such a scam to sign up to this gym, teens have no experience with contracts so they get stung. Support smaller locally owned gyms who offer real casual plans not long term commitments that kids cant afford. No duty of care.

Negative experience: I go here cause I can walk to this gym. If I had to drive, I wouldn’t be a member here. Equipment is old and needs attention. The entrance to the sauna and steam area is so rank, it smells like sewage. For the price, EMF is a much better option.
Positive experience: I only attend once a week and can only use 4 pieces of equipment as I have a shoulder injury There was a woman on the leg exercise equipment in the corner who spent most of her time on the telephone or using the internet. After waiting quite a period of time I asked her if I could use the equipment quickly for a couple of minutes she said no . As there are only two of these machines in the club I think it is unreasonable that one person can hog it for extensive periods when they are not using it. Imentioned this to the person on the desk but they were unable to help!!
Negative experience: I had not intended on writing a review, and this marks my first-ever negative review. My experience with GoodLife Burleigh has left me quite disappointed, primarily due to the troublesome cancellation process. On two separate occasions, I called to inquire about canceling my membership, and in both instances, I was informed that I would be subject to a substantial cancellation fee. Despite clearly stating that I was outside of my contract period during both phone calls, I was placed on hold for an extended period, only to be later told that I was, in fact, correct, and no cancellation fee should apply. During the second call, I decided to proceed with canceling my membership and requested to settle all outstanding fees, which the consultant agreed to. However, my troubles didn't end there. After reading several online reviews, I had suspicions that canceling my membership might prove difficult, so I prudently placed a hold on my card. Unfortunately, my apprehensions were justified, as I am now facing persistent attempts by debt collectors to collect another payment. I ended up in a frustrating email exchange with the club manager, going back and forth. Eventually, I just decided to bite the bullet, pay up, and that's when I thought, "You know what? I've got to leave a review about this." If you are considering joining for the female-only room, I strongly advise against it. The equipment is often broken, and the lack of air conditioning, replaced by a small fan, makes it unbearably hot. The state of the bathrooms is frequently less than satisfactory, and the virtual Reformer Pilates classes do not provide an ideal learning environment with the virtual screening of the classes.
Negative experience: So Disappointed that when I rang to cancel my reformer class due to an emergency with 90mins before the class they still charge me a cancellation fee.
Negative experience: Being a member for a very long time I find the cycle room has deteriorated to such an extent that it stinks, there is mould actually growing on the ceiling and the bikes are in such disrepair as they have never been replaced. This room is a health hazard.
Negative experience: I have never had such a terrible experience at a gym. There is no such thing as customer service here, I was not made feel welcome and harassed by staff mainly the tall, dark haired lady at the front counter. I used to be a personal trainer with goodlife years ago and always had issues with this company as a whole. They don’t look after there staff or there customers only there revenue. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to go to a gym don’t go to any goodlife if you want a positive experience and to feel welcomed. I truely hope this review makes it to the head of this organisation so something can change. I will also add after months of cancelling my membership I was emailed by the manager of this gym saying I wasn’t welcome there and one of the staff had seen me using the gym still. ( I haven’t and wouldn’t step foot in another goodlife gym ever again) so this is the level of customer service you can expect. Please know I am a positive person but I feel people need to know, so they don’t make the same mistake.
Negative experience: Why do gyms take your money every month and not contact you when you dont use your membership but as soon as you want to cancel, they throw free PT sessions at you. Some encouragement and contact throughout the membership would be a better retention strategy, IMHO.
Negative experience: Do not go to this gym. Signed up on trial and was told I wouldn’t have to make a payment for the first month. Decided the gym was way too busy (another problem in of itself) so decided not to join. Charged me $295 and I literally hadn’t used the gym a single time. Absolute ripoff. Zero transparency of their terms when I signed up for trial which felt tactile. They were very fast to explain everything and sign me up. Not clarification at all. Incredibly disappointing. Go to ‘mod gym’ just up the road half the price twice the gym.
Positive experience: Goodlife Burleigh boasts top-notch facilities and equipment, spacious workout areas, and a variety of fitness classes. However, the experience is soured by the reception staff’s unfriendly approach. The reception staff's attitude towards myself is almost always disappointing. I have been a member for over a year and I can confidently say 99% that I arrive I am not greeted by what appears to be disinterested staff. I used to always say hello with a smile, whilst barley receiving a hello in return … so I’ve given up. In my opinion, it is essential for gym staff to be professional, courteous, and approachable, as they play a crucial role in motivating and supporting gym-goers. Unfortunately, the staff at Burleigh Goodlife seemed to lack these qualities. In conclusion, the gym's facilities are impressive, but the staff's unfriendly behaviour detracts from the overall experience. As a result, it's difficult to recommend Goodlife Burleigh to potential customers. Hopefully, the gym’s management will address this issue and take appropriate steps to improve their staff's behaviour to create a more welcoming and positive environment for its members as this is the only Goodlife that has me writing a negative review.
Positive experience: Usually busy, not enough machines, too many treadmills.
Fantastic experience: Great place to workout in a great environment with friendly staff and clean, well layer out facilities.
Negative experience: The poorest equipped goodlife gym I have been, plus they have some machines I use but I can’t use them cause they placed them in the women only area, good job
Negative experience: I had a worse scenario with my membership cancelation. I had a phone call to cancel my membership in nearly September 2022 and the staff didn't registered it in their system and even did not send me an confirmation email about the cancelation. On that date, they assured me that everything is fine. In January 2023 when I checked my bank account , I noticed that they regularly withdrew from my bank account the amount of $42.58 every two weeks . So, I emailed them and described every thing but they put me in a liar position and asked me for evidence and recommend me to provide a statutory declaration signed by a JP. I told them that it is their responsibility to do their job correctly by sending me an email or doing cancelation paper work right after my request. Now, I don't know what I should do. I am very sad and disappointed of loosing money without using the facility. I am unhappy with good life health club Burleigh water and not recommend this club to join. They could be much more supportive and trustworthy. They can easily deny when it comes for membership cancelation. :(
Positive experience: Not the best of the goodlife gyms on the Gold Coast, would personally recommend Bundall Goodlife instead

Fantastic experience: Wow! I've never seen a club like this before. It has everything. All the equipment you could dream of. And a huge swimming pool as well. Also has massage, yoga and palates.
Negative experience: Lost a personal belonging and am currently away on holidays. Called the gym and asked if it had been handed in and they refused to check lost property for me even though I said I was currently away. Said I have to come and do it myself. What?! Horrible customer service
Fantastic experience: Mermaid Waters, I joined for the Daily Aqua classes. Great 60min workout with dumbbells to music. Follow Spa, steam, sauna. Plenty lockers and showers, hair dryers and ironing board. ... I'm sure upstairs full Gym is also good. Friendly staff. Affordable weekly fee.
Negative experience: Average for arms sessions, bad for legs sessions. big gym with just ONE leg press machine, ONE leg extension and ONE squats hack…in busy days/hours it’s impossible to use those machines. Bathroom in a bad shape. The gym look abandoned by the management.

Fantastic experience: One of the best good life health clubs on the Gold Coast! As a personal trainer I must say the people both on reception and on floor hold high quality service. The equipment is well laid out and there’s also a ladies only room. Sauna also! Many great facilities. ( also a massage pallor within the gym, they do fantastic lymphatic massages) Definitely my favourite gym and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Good Life health club to anybody living on the Gold Coast.
Negative experience: Excellent gym good size, good range of equipment. The reason for 2 star is there are some very rude old ones here they seem to think they are superior! yet I don't see them wiping down the equipment after they finish, it's sad they make it unpleasant experience for others!
Positive experience: The staff and instructors are amazing especially Lorraine the rpm instructor. The equipment is mostly amazing. The bikes for the spin classes are clunky and very well worn. That is a shame as the seem to always have the numbers. The showers and men's locker room are spacious and kept very well but if you are after a nice hot shower the best is Luke warm which won't matter much as summer approaches. The Sauna is always busy and I really enjoy a good sweat. The steam room however is not even near hot enough and seems to have a strange odour. This is disappointing as if it was the right temperature the numbers using the dry sauna may be more spead out. The gym floor is large and very well equipped. If you want to swim there is a full length pool to do you lap training. Overall this is an extremely good club and well worth the membership they charge. The classes are well attended and reception staff are always very friendly and helpful. I dropped a star mainly cause the spin bikes and steam sauna.

Positive experience: Good amenities. Found it quite hard to find a gym that also had a pool, sauna and steam room. The only problem being is that the pool and sauna only stays open until 8pm which is not always easy to get there before that with work and kids. The hot water in the showers is not really hot. I’ve never had to add cold water which in summer is ok but winter not ideal when your getting out of the pool and wanting to warm up staff are friendly

Negative experience: Would give 0 stars if possible. Even after requesting a freeze to my membership, as I was flooded in Brisbane and wasn't able to move to the Gold Coast, I was still charged on my account. Nobody informed me, that they would charge me and an indefinite freeze wasn't possible, plus "credit" has been taken out of my account without my consent. Be aware, that they will not tell you, that you will have to pay in full whatever membership you sign up for, even trials.

Fantastic experience: Freddie is a great boxing instructor! He always creates the best energy and pushes you but understands everyone’s level of fitness is different! :-) I can’t wait for the next class!

Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend Fitness First Robina highly enough. I've been a member of around a dozen gyms here on the Gold Coast and it's my favourite. The staff make you feel so welcome and despite being very busy helping out members they are always very friendly. My Mum visited earlier this year and initially felt quite apprehensive, until several staff members came up and said hi to her and started chatting with her. She came away really enjoying her visit to the gym. And you will too! I definitely recommend trying out Fitness First Robina!

Fantastic experience: Great gym. I’ve been a member for almost 5 years, loved the Creche for my children with they were younger, Myanna and Suz are the best!! Love all of the classes available, the staff are all really well trained and run great sessions. The yoga classes are definitely not typical gym sessions, definitely feels like a private yoga studio vibe. Love all of the floor classes, strength and conditioning is a great mix of body weight and weight based training run by a qualified PT. Finally, the pool, steam room and sauna make it an all round health experience. Cannot recommend the gym highly enough.

Negative experience: Disappointed that person behind desk didn't wear mask for the duration we were there(was around her neck) Also person entering in front of us didn't use mandatory QR register, and wasn't asked to do so. Upstairs sanitary wipes were mt and not replaced.

Positive experience: I would say the facilities are amazing , the lay out and the bathrooms in general. Best gym I've walked into. The classes also are a hit!! I love how there's a variety of people who come to this gym. However staff is probably the only down fall (behind reception). Come in late evenings and early mornings and some do not look happy to be there , approached one staff member about pt sessions and she had a bit of an attitude?
Positive experience: Fitness First is, as always a premium gym, but with one consistent flaw that's been present since they opened when I was still a teenager. They don't compare equipment with other gyms to analyse wether or not their equipment is as premium as their price tag. While having an Olympic swimming pool is awesome, GoodLife in Nerang for example has a superior range of facilities available for customers to utilise during their workouts. Including a simulated outdoor area and steam room / sauna etc. So considering the only negative thing I can say about the competition is that they don't have a pool, the price tag comparison doesn't look good. Other than that, if it was the only gym in the area it'd be a 5 star rating so it is what it is.

Negative experience: Dont join this gym, I told them I was leaving back to my country and wanted to cancel my membership, they froze it and once the covid restrictions went off and they opend, started charging me again. Making me impossible to leave been paying then for 2 months and finally they let me cancel it but make me pay for it.
Negative experience: Put up with some kind of wart on my foot for two years from going to this place for 4 years until doctor finally removed after 4 months but now have some other fungus due to poor toenails. Watched the cleaner do S bends with the mop. Disgusting dirty germ filled premium priced gym.
Negative experience: Be good if the staff did the rounds now and then to see how many are not using towels...I only count 10 tonight not using them...so much for personal hygiene
Negative experience: $22.50 for a visitor pass is a bit extreme. Also had a free visitor pass because a friend joined recently but couldn’t use it because I didn’t live locally is quite rubbish. Overall disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Thankyou so much to the ladies at the creche.The wonderful way Mianna looks after my son, Benjamin for these last 6years. In he's younger years he would run off from school, the shops, everywhere. Many people really struggled with the behaviours he had, however the wonderful child whisperer you are, he would stay with you. You get the toys he's interested in and create a wonderful environment. This makes me feel especially safe that he was in great hands! I am able to enjoy a great workout de-stress and relax.
