Fantastic experience: We live in the Gold Coast and came to Melbourne for a work trip. We chose Iron Kingdom because it had a boxing bag, and the gym equipment looked good. We were helped by Katya, really friendly, showed us around and made us feel welcome. If this gym was on the Gold Coast, we’d train here

Negative experience: For the price, this gym is honestly the worst gym I have ever been to. The key fobs never work, I usually go workout after hours and the fob always declines and I have reminded the staff and they never fix it. The worst part of all is that 95% of the machines are extremely rusted and dangerous to work with due to the fact that they have not been replaced in years. The owners cheap out in not maintaining the equipment, if a payment fails once, guess what, you’re paying $10 extra for any instance, they won’t bother waiving the fee either. The parking is also extremely terrible due to the fact that the gym is located next to 4 different building sights, so if you come in anytime before 5-6pm, you won’t be able to park anywhere. Overall you can’t charge people $25 per week when you’re not taking care of the gym equipment, why pay so much when your gym has no premium to it compared to other private gyms or even cheap franchise gyms, you usually get what you pay for, but not here, here you’re donating to charity with no cause.

Negative experience: I seriously believe that the positive reviews on here have been done by friends or colleagues of this place. It’s dark, dirty and gloomy to begin with. Secondly, as already mentioned, don’t sign up to this gym if you miss one payment they will charge you 10 dollars after one day - this should be illegal. I would also like it to be known I am currently pregnant and just had a woman who could not even spell debt, yes it’s debt not dept - tell me my written cancellation was not enough even though I had recently been hospitalised for being unwell. Her response was being pregnant is not an excuse. Well let me tell anyone who is and isn’t pregnant being pregnant is enough of an excuse to make exceptions and have some respect. What kind of health and lifestyle place treats people this way? Every gym I’ve ever been to loves their clients and motivates them to be better not harass them three times a day for 30 dollars. I’ve never been more disgusted by a place then this one. Learn how to treat people with respect and stop destroying your own reputation over a couple of dollars.

Negative experience: Consider the following before signing on with Iron Kingdom. It is good gym with lots of equipment. No dought that you'll find what your after here, plenty of options. Generally clean bathrooms with 24/7 access to the gym. However after a recent experience which I take full responsibility for I found the treatment of members when it comes to a breach of contract in anyway is absolutely savage. As someone that has actively vouched for this gym and pushed other members to join my ambition was was bring someone who was moving interstate for an afternoon gym session to show them around. Having travel delays etc we decided to go early morning then return to look at sign up options the following day. I did bring this person in during unstaffed hours as it was early morning the following day, basically a dumb decision on my behalf and most certainly a breach of contract which I take full responsibility for. I had good intentions to bring another member to this gym and it was a mistake that I made personally. The contract does have all fines and terms listed in the contract signed which I had not reviewed since signing 6 months prior nor at the time was was thinking about. In this contracts it states that using my FOB to gain access for an unorthorised person will receive a $500 fine and any person that is let in will receive an additional $500 fine. There is also an extensive list of other fines there which i would suggest reading carefully. As a business protection model I completely understand the need to ensure all members are paying and are apart of the organisation. I called mangement & explained what had happened and took full responsibility for the incident and requested a meeting to try & resolve this issue and hopefully move forward. The response was these are the terms and conditions you signed, you have breached your contract & must pay within 7 days or it will be sent for debt collection. No need to come in. Whilst I completely understand the need for contracts, rules and business safety management aswell a the genuine need to fine, ban or suspend people who are intentionally breaking gym rules. I think that having zero flexibility and the unwillingness to meet with a paying member after issuing a $1000 fine with the threat of debt collection is obscene. With that being said everyone will have there own opinions on this matter but from my experience I would carefully consider signing up to any organisation who treats members in this way with no personalisation and a one size fits all approach.

Fantastic experience: Nice quiet side street location. Plenty of parking. Easy access during staffed hours. Probably has every machine under the sun, plenty of space between machines, modern, clean facility. Also stock supps if you don't have any.

Negative experience: They charge $20 for casual entry on public holidays but don’t have any working water fountains (have been broken for months) and don’t turn on most of the fans on a 26 degree day

Negative experience: I have tried to train here 3 times and each time there is broken equipment that I was trying to use or the staff have been rude.

Negative experience: Cheat payment with small money. Had a membership here for few weeks and I did freeze my membership for a week before leave. My membership started on Sunday, so the period should be Sun-Sat. But they charge extra money cause their payment day is on Thurday. I talked them about it and got a refund, but you wouldnt get refund if you dont say anything or didnt realized. Cause my friend also had same situation and didnt get the money return.

Fantastic experience: They’ve just added top notch quality machines and constantly upgrading. Also big on hygiene. Both Staff and members respect this place. Definitely recommend

Negative experience: It’s a great gym, but their direct debit system is genuinely robbery as well as extremely terrible parking areas, the equipments themselves are half destroyed or have been completely worn off so much that you can’t even see their weights. if the payment is 1 day late, they will block your access completely and charge you $10 extra which is completely unfair, as the very first time they don’t tell you when the payment will be even taken out. No gym in Australia will charge $10 or even $1 extra for being one day late. And this applies to contracts and no contracts. They should at least tell you what day the payments get taken out.

Positive experience: Would be a decent gym if machines and equipment were maintained. Alot of loose cables, seats and moving machines!

Negative experience: Gym advertises it’s self as wheel-chair accessible but unwilling to make comprises for disabled customers. Came to this gym with a disabled client, prior to the shift I wasn’t told we would be going to the gym so I wasn’t dressed in the appropriate attire. Half way through my clients workout a staff member came over and asked us both to leave as I was wearing jeans. I tried to explain the situation and explained I was not working out but supporting my client to workout, I asked if he could finish his workout and I would ensure I was wearing gym attire next time. The manger told us the only way we could stay was if I payed full price for a pair leggings at the reception. Very disappointing as the client had been a long term customer with a previous support worker and have never had this issue at alternative gyms in the past.

Positive experience: Excellent gym, great equipment, great staff. Fairly new to this gym still but I like it. If you want to train in an industrial style gym away from the mainstream franchise gyms, then this is the place for you.

Negative experience: This gym is as predatory as it gets. Not only will any contract you sign with them be worthless when they decide to increase weekly payments without you being able to opt out, but even if they provide you with a date in writing where your membership will be confirmed as ended they’ll proceed to keep charging you afterwards regardless. Garbage behaviour from the gym’s ownership and management, and I wouldn’t be recommending this gym to anybody.

Positive experience: Gym has a lot of equipment. They closed for a month and just moved stuff around. Only the reception area was changed. The issues with the cables are still the same

Negative experience: No aircon!!!!! Tried casual visit+ then joined as member. 3 days in , it was a hot day. The gym was like a furnace. Asked to cancel my membership due to, too much heat effecting my anxiety condition. They said because i didn't write it in my medical status, they couldn't do it. Asked i want to cancel due to 7 day cooling off period. They said they dont have that. & I should have used more casual visits. Charged me $250 to cancel for 3 days membership

Fantastic experience: Been going here since it opened up as Muscle Factory in 2015. It's recently returned to its former glory as there have been a few rebrands since opening, resulting in change of management and dropping the ball. Membership fees kept going up and overall quality of the gym declining. In the past year there have been noticeable improvements in equipment maintenance and overall cleanliness. The staff are very friendly and the improvements in the gym is a reflection of their attitude and pride in their work. Equipment wise, there's numerous good quality ones that cater for multiple disciplines in a large enough space that it doesn't feel cramped.

Fantastic experience: Been coming for a few years now, thoroughly enjoy working out in the warehouse aesthetic that the gym provides. The staff are friendly and approachable, and the prices are fairly reasonable. I have been dealing with fluctuations in my weight especially since COVID so I had recently taken up Boxing with Louis - included as part of the membership. With his skills as well as his ability to inspire and adapt to me, he has assisted me in going from 126kg - 106kg, a 20kg loss in 14 weeks. That and my commitment to getting fit. The facilities also help with developing and working on my muscle groups, plus the variety of food and protein options.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is super friendly and it has a very chill but motivating atmosphere. The ability to do casual visits is also a plus as it means I can get into a good rhythm first before committing to a membership!

Good value for money, plenty of access to equipment when you need it and special offers that make it one of the cheapest gyms around. *Additional remarks 11/23. This original review was provided after a prize incentive by the gym for a visitors card in exchange for a Google review. Paying annually required making a trip to their main gym in the northern suburbs because the system or staff couldn’t manage it from the Ringwood location. This was doable while the gym was good value for money; however after continued price rices despite an ongoing lack of promised attention to equipment and property maintenance, gym membership no longer became affordable or tenable. Hopefully that situation has since changed.

Positive experience: I've been going to irons since 2018. The gym offers great quality and a range of different gym equipment. Allowing any gym goer to easily complete any form of excerise program they have created. The environment is very comfortable and the staff members are always lovley and attentive when customers have an enquiry or concern. They have especially done a great job during the pandemic in ensuring that all equipment is keept sanitised and wiped down. However, prices back in 2018/19 were much more competitive. Although there is a wide range of equipment available..some are found to become a bit rusty overtime due to many people using it. But as a whole this gym is great and convenient due to the many locations around Melbourne that they own.

Positive experience: It has improved a whole lot since new management! It’s a more comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Just needs slight improvements like better lighting and a full length mirror in the bathrooms. Also just louder music for a more motivating atmosphere. Other than that, I have no complaints!

Negative experience: Been at this gym since it was Muscle Factory years ago... equipment wise and the gym itself is fine but it’s the money and memberships. They have always shortchanged me by a couple of months every time my yearly expires and the last time this happened the guy at reception said he would call me back. I’ve called twice since to double check and gotten no call backs or revising of my membership. That was the 4th May, can’t be bothered going to a gym that keeps shortchanging you every year.

Negative experience: Cancelled my gym membership back in feb by sending an email through the website. ( no other email address provided to email direct) I’m still getting charged! When I questioned why they requested I give them proof yet I couldn’t track the email as it went through their system, so I asked they look for it. I then asked for them to stop direct debits and they have continued to take money from me without.

Negative experience: Have been trying to cancel my membership. They ignore emails, phone calls and all communication drops off once you try to leave. However have no problem continually charging and collecting payments when told repeatedly to stop and cancel membership immediately. Pathetic gym and their service is even worse. Could not recommend them any less. Would give less than 1 star if possible.

Negative experience: Covid cleaning lasted about a week. No one cleans anymore. Old dirty chux used to clean. Don't treat members well. And don't you dare criticise or ask a question of them on socials or they'll kick you out. I've found a better gym for cheaper and closer to home now so I'm glad I'm no longer there.

Negative experience: Gym equipment is good, customer service of whoever was working tonight was awful. Very rude. Wont be signing up to this gym. Fix your staff, don't have unprofessional tryhard non qualified "PTS" that have a bad attitude do the evening/night shift customer service.

Negative experience: Glad my contract ended just over a month ago. No common sense or pride in the facilities and cleanliness.

Negative experience: On the positive, Iron Kingdom Ringwood does have a good variety of equipment. Unfortunately the equipment isn’t serviced as well as other gyms with a number of items not working and appears not to be repaired quickly. As noted in other reviews, the state of the bathroom areas are terrible with broken skinks, frequently no soap available to wash your hands and showers that you wouldn’t want to use to to their condition. For me the latter is not an issue as I don’t shower at the gym however if you do, I’d definitely recommend looking elsewhere. Off-street parking is very limited.

Positive experience: A lot of machines if that's your thing. The equipment isn't in the best condition (eg. broken barbell collars, torn bench surfaces). Could do with more than two deadlift platforms. $10 casual entry is okay, especially as they are manned 24hrs

Negative experience: PROS: - Convenient location - Warehouse gym - Lots of equipment CONS: - Only ONE good shower in the male bathroom; the middle shower door won't close and the other broken shower has been closed for over a month due to broken tiles. I hear that there are issues in the female bathrooms as well. - Broken toilets tend to go 3+ months without being fixed - WATER LEAKS. There are MANY leaks in the warehouse creating puddles of water all over the place. We've seen a machine fully unusable because they get covered in water from water dripping on it; granted this seems to mostly happen on cold winter mornings but it really isn't good enough, we frequently see water dropping from the roof when it's cold. FINAL THOUGHTS: The gym is fine, however the management of the gym is poor. They do not keep on top of keeping the place 'nice'. They tend to meet the bare minimum to keep the gym operational. I would ask management to consider putting themselves in the shoes of someone that is coming to the gym for the first time on a casual session. Do you think they would want to sign up if they see various machines covered in water, or bathrooms that are not adequately maintained? Make the effort to make the gym more than 'just' a warehouse gym and you'll see that people won't complain when you attempt to up the membership fees every year. People will pay more for quality. UPDATE -- Within a week of posting this review the gym has re-opened one of the previously closed showers. I don't believe that it's actually been fixed as the tiles in that shower are still visibly no good and it results in little specs of dirt along the shower floor.

Positive experience: Awesome gym and equipment. Came down from Brisbane and was really surprised by the size and range of equipment. Would give 5 stars but location was hidden and got lost first time trying to find it as we didn't find signs for it until we found the huge mural on the building.
