Universal Gym

Positive experience: Love this gym for the price and the women’s section, has a lot of equipment to use and treadmills are excellent. However, women’s section is always a pigsty - even when you come in early morning, the equipment is all over the place, weights are not racked in order, holes in the wall and ceiling. Most of the women don’t put the equipment back because the gym isn’t neat for them to follow that example so they just leave it on the floor where it already was. Mirrors are dirty full of fingerprints, there’s no fans on to have a flow of air. Outside has so much litter… really hope there will be some improvement as I enjoy working out here.

Positive experience: This gym is really good but I wish they had hipthrust boxes. It makes it much easier to set up for hip thrusts and doesn’t hurt the back as much. Please add these !!

Positive experience: I recently visited Universal Gym and had a fantastic experience overall. The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly and professional, and the variety of equipment available meets all my fitness needs. However, there are a couple of areas that could use some improvement. The water dispenser needs to be fixed, as it was not functioning properly during my visit. Additionally, some of the equipment is old and rusty and should be replaced to ensure a safe and pleasant workout experience. Despite these minor issues, I would still highly recommend Universal Gym for anyone looking for a great place to work out.

Fantastic experience: You have no idea...I have been to gyms all over the world and this is the best equipped gym ...the best prices...and the best owners...I highly recommend it..PS ignore on line pics....it is so much more than what you see...that was years ago....now unbelievable.....They continue to invest huge sums into the best equipment as it becomes available..no waiting for equipment here

Negative experience: Toilets filthy and music way to loud, got there at midnight to have a relaxing workout and the music is pumping like there's no tomorrow, asked the guy at the desk to turn the volume down two times. It seems like he turned it back up as soon as I walked back into the gym area No common sense...

Negative experience: Worst gym ever. People literally sit in there cars playing with there phones..

Negative experience: Don’t sign up to this gym!!! I tried to cancel my membership multiple times over the past year. The girls I spoke to on the phone said no worries we will cancel it for you or we will call you back. No call back and never cancelled it. I have lost so much money because this gym didn’t cancel the membership when said to. I have had to go through my bank to block and stop the payments coming out of my account. Don’t waste ur time signing up to a contract because all they do is steal your money.

Fantastic experience: Really good gym, its not only massive, but everyone is so nice, especially the employees. The boxing ring is also nice for sparring, it makes it really enjoyable. Edit: Sadly they removed the boxing ring a while back, but they do seem to be adding new machines, but still wish the boxing ring was there.

Fantastic experience: Probably today the best gym in Melbourne. I travel every weekend from point cook just to train there because of the equipment.

Fantastic experience: There isnt alot of parking in front of the gym, but there is plenty on the side road. Lots of equipment, they seem to be doing an upgrade right now. Big plus: Cheap one time entry.

Positive experience: The gym is actually nice. There are a lot of machines, including same muscle group and different muscle group. The equipment is quite good but not very new, they do the job though. The daily pass is $5 now and around $300 a year. I recommend this gym as it is located on the highway so it's easily accessible, the machines are good, it's spacious, and the ceiling is high. Only I found it uncomfortable that the air conditioning hits some machines directly, which can be uncomfortable.

Negative experience: Do NOT recommend coming here or signing up. Be careful of their contracts. It’s one of those things that they hide important details in the fine print. Called up to enquire as I started suddenly being charged even though I had called up months prior to cancel. Lady was very rude on the phone, asked for her name so I could follow up- wouldn’t give it to me. Asked for the bosses name- wouldn’t give it to me either. I was told “if you want to speak to the boss come in and speak to him yourself” Do not sign any contracts with them as they will scam you! The person on the phone was very misleading and her response to the bad treatment and losing a longtime member was “we’re only losing one member it’s not a big deal”. These people don’t care about you- they just want your money. Honestly don’t give these people your money. The lady I spoke to at the front desk worked 24/10/2022 at 9pm. So unprofessional & extremely disappointing considering I had been a member for so long.

Positive experience: In general, it's a good gym. - Equipment takes a while to get repaired. - Idiots parking in the entry and exit driveway as they are too lazy to walk a few extra steps. - Too many kids running around. - Toilets are kept nice and clean. - People at the front desk are friendly and polite, and the owner seems like a good bloke.

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything you need as well as the best meals, variety of pre workout drinks and remain to keep their entry prices low. Best value of money in Melbourne. Separate girls section that you can enter without passing through the main section. Girls section is large and has recently been extended in size.

Fantastic experience: staff are super friendly and helpful, owner is a gem of a man, the gym itself is very spacious and has ever single type of equipment you can think of, hence you won't be waiting for a machine even in busy periods, I've been going here for about 5 years now, and I can definitely say that they're the only gym that is always adding more and more equipment and consistently doing renovations to further improve the gym to satisfy the members and their experience. They're definitely undercharging for memberships and casual entry, in my opinion, the membership shouldn't be any less that $1k per year. So yeah, super happy with this gym, keep up the good work universal team

Negative experience: Such a bad a bad gym, rude stuff and the owner has no people skills. It is really dirty! I definitely wouldn't recommend this gym.

Negative experience: Could be the cheapest gym in the area but no professionalism in their dealings with their customers. I am upset, wont send my daughter again. I would rather pay more money and expect professionalism and understanding especially when I am mislead by one of their staff members.

Fantastic experience: Great for intermediate to professional weightlifters to workout and find supplements, gym clothing and sometimes a post workout meal. They offer females only gyming aswel as mixed gym. A boxing ring with a few boxing bags for the Mma/boxing enthusiasts and a whole area designated for cardio workouts. The gym manager is a nice guy who also trains in the gym from time to time and is informative about any info needed.

Fantastic experience: I've been to many gyms including Derrimut, Dohertys, anytime, snap, fitness First etc. and this is by far the biggest and best gym.

Positive experience: Big gym best range of equipment when working correctly. Toilet smells in cardio area seems like no ventilation duct work exiting the building. They really need new cleaners who know how to clean & use the correct chemicals to disinfectant the areas .

Not only should it commonsense but it is also so dangerous! I don’t seem to see any signs enforcing the girls section to “put weights/equipments back after use”. Or I must be blind if they do

Positive experience: Good value for money. Place is huge. I just wish management could enforce their rules a bit more on cleaning equipment after use and putting weights away. Most of the people that go to this gym have no respect for others so they leave their stuff around after use and the way they park is disgusting. So good gym, unfortunately some people that go there ruin it for everyone else

Positive experience: Love this gym. Plethora of workout equipment ranging from cardio, calisthenics, free weights and fixed machines. The water fountain occasionally tastes very strongly of chlorine and chalk is not allowed at his gym (only downsides).

They stock supplements, drinks, meals, clothing and gym accessories. I cannot fault this gym.
