Negative experience: The facilities are excellent, but your payment system is very poor. This is the third time I have received a late fee, and I do not understand how this happens when I registered and authorized automatic payments. You should improve your payment system. I am no longer interested in continuing with the membership, as I find your billing practices to be very dishonest.

Negative experience: The facilities itself are actually quite nice but that is all the gym has going for it. The staff are probably the worst gym staff you will ever meet. The most lazy & rude workers I’ve ever had the displeasure of talking to. If you ever have any issues or enquiries, they will not help you. Seems like the workers just follow scripted excuses and refuse to actually help you at all, it’s like they’re robots with absolutely no human thoughts. Be prepared to have to argue and prove yourself right before they even think about helping you in the slightest. This is also not a one time thing, I’ve been a member for around 1.5 years and have had maybe 3-5 occasions where I’ve needed to speak to the staff, whether it be general matters, payment issues or anything. Every single time I’ve had to deal with a condescending attitude & a complete and utter lack of effort. Seems like I’m not alone on this experience either, plenty of the other reviews say the exact same thing about how the staff are rude and are extremely difficult to deal with. They literally have a 1.4 star rating on the productreview website and heaps of negative reviews on Google, and growing to this day. In all honesty the staff have ruined this gym for me, I’d be looking at a different gym if anyone is thinking about joining.

Fantastic experience: Probably one of the best Goodlife gyms I’ve been to, very modern, big area with plenty of machines and weights for everyone. Staff are friendly and helpful. I just wish the boxing bags were open for use to everyone at all times as well as this would be a big attraction for many.

Negative experience: Been a long time customer at this gym and have enjoyed training here in the past however unfortunately the staff has decided not to do much regarding other gym members constantly harassing, verbally abusing and threatening other gym goers. They would rather keep the one customer who has had multiple complaints against them than maintain a safe environment for the members who actually contribute to the once enjoyable workout environment the gym had.

Negative experience: Long time customer here for 3 years. Recently I had to end my membership due to moving, and i was treated very poorly throughout the process. Firstly, they illegally tried to charge me for a “30 day notice of end” when the membership was advertised as “no lock in” and them saying they would help if anything went wrong. The receptionist - Jack, was making me feel really horrible with his sarcastic remarks towards my questioning. This is no way to treat a loyal customer who has been giving his money to this gym for years.

Negative experience: If you are looking for classes, this gym is way below best practice. Classes are cancelled without notice, no opportunity for people to try and bring more friends, but just cancelled. They don't seem to understand that classes are popular because of the instructor, not just the timeslot. Swap a good instructor for a poorer one whose English is not their first langauge and you can barely understand what they are saying, and watch the class attendance drop, and the class eventually cancelled. Swap a instructor who is running a full class with an inferior one and only a handful remain. Cancels the class without finding a replacement prior! Not to mention the clueless front desk who dont seem to know if a class is cancelled or if the instructor is runnning late and simply make excuses. Does not use social media to communicate changes so you will have to drive there only to find out about cancel classes (are we living in the same era, guys?). V Disapponting. Look for better value elsewhere (hint , about 1km up the road).

Positive experience: The gym is spacious and has plenty of equipments for people to use even during peak hours. There are many choices of group classes throughout the week and they are fun and gives a workout. It would be better if there were more classes on Fridays and the weekends.

Negative experience: Terrible knowledge about costumer services. Dont really know why she didnt allow me in, go inside and let me go around to see the installations without scanning the QR barcode, she directly said " you cannot go in without scanning the QR with your phone" therefore she didnt show me the centre. I guess is not her fault as i think she doesnt have experience on how to welcome and satisfy costumers. They just probably follow the company's policies. she didnt know if good life is a franshise or not, my experience was that she was really rude, instead of helping she was giggling with the other girl while myself looking for info about the centre in my phone, i had to cause she didnt show me the installations inside the centre. Unbelievable bad experience, never have gone through the same experience in other places. She really needs training. If you read this comment please do not go or use this gym, goodlife in box hill, or at least dont go when these two persons are there or you will have a bad experience, completely useless. Id change the name of the gym from goodlife to BADLIFE GYM boxhill. Terrible and disgraceful, hope managers take some actions about it. Ill tell some friends and family members to completely end their membership with goodlife box hill 5:30pm 25/3/24
Fantastic experience: Great facility. It gets really busy after work but there's enough equipment around. Gym is kept neat and tidy with great air-conditioning.
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym having lots of cardiovascular equipment to let more than 40+ people work out at the same time. It's very convenient that it is open around the clock. Staff are present for quite long hours each day and are extremely friendly. Lots of group training classes are available.
Fantastic experience: I have been a Goodlife member since the end of 2016, with Sandringham & Dingley being my regular gyms. After coming to Box Hill South for the first time in August 2022, this is without doubt my favourite gym to come to now. The facilities are top notch and people in the Body Attack group fitness classes are very friendly. The community created by Patricia is incredibly special and will always be thankful for everyone's friendship.
Negative experience: I've been a member since 2019, initially joining with an $11.99 membership fee. However, in early 2023, they raised it to $13.51 per week. Pretty good price right? well unfortunately, the quality of the goodlife gyms, particularly Box hill, Deepdene and Camberwell locations, has significantly declined. Honestly this decline has diminished my motivation to go to the gym. Upon attempting to amicably part ways with Goodlife, I called their customer service but was put on hold for an exasperating 30 minutes. Eventually, I was informed that they would cancel my membership, but I'd have to pay for the next 30 days as part of their "cancellation process". This final aspect became the tipping point for me, as it seemed an unjust business practice. I was told by the operator that If I was not happy I could speak to my home gym to see if they can waive the exit fee, indicating they had that ability. In an attempt to address my dissatisfaction, I contacted Goodlife Box Hill (my home gym) and expressed my concerns. I pointed out the decline in the gym's quality, my infrequent attendance due to it (last visit being two months ago), and my disapproval of their business practices. Despite my grievances, the receptionist claimed they couldn't assist and allegedly consulted with a manager who was conveniently unavailable. Feeling upset, I inquired about the possibility of speaking with the manager directly, but was denied. I emphasized the negative impact of leaving a customer dissatisfied, suggesting it might not be worth charging an unhappy client a mere $50, as it could result in a substantial loss due to the potential negative publicity from my google review. In conclusion, I find this business approach unethical and, frankly, un-Australian. I wonder if Goodlife believes charging an "exit fee" to a disgruntled customer is worth the risk of a negative review that could potentially cost them far more in the long run. Getting $50 now might lead to potentially losing $5,000 later, as everyone who reads this finds it to be bad practice.

Negative experience: I signed a contract for a month and became a member for a month. After I found out, I went to the store in time to terminate the cooperation with them and returned the card to them. As a result, I still need to deduct an extra month's fee It's a disgusting way of avoiding lightning that's not how you do business

Fantastic experience: I have been attending to this gym the last year and I love it. It is huge, it has a modern and clean equipment. The cardio area it is masive and full of machines so you alwais going to find where to train. The personal is very friendly and ready to help.
Negative experience: The people that work at this gym are so rude. The environment is shocking. Would not join this gym. They don't offer short term contracts so you are charged for a full year. Ridiculous prices. Rude people.
Fantastic experience: This gym is excellent, loads of space and equipment. Very clean and modern, good class timetables with an excellent cycle studio, the instructors are great! Staff are always helpful, I signed up at camberwell but this is the gym I use now and won’t switch back, even though it’s further away
Fantastic experience: Gym twice a week for veterans mental health
Negative experience: October 2023 update: used to be enjoyable, but group fitness has gone downhill. One of the body attack instructors, Dylan Dickson, seems to be a huge fan of freestyling his own classes and selling his dance business on the side. I've attended Les Mills programs at many other gyms and I've never seen someone as bad as Dylan. Notes on stage, doesn't know his own moves, and promotes his private business on club premises. Big thumbs down. ---- Big gym with lots of floor space, multiple dedicated group fitness studio spaces and ample equipment. Very well appointed and well looked after.
Positive experience: Facilities are generally good but this is a very busy gym for Goodlife! I often have to wait quite a while, because it’s so popular. I suspect that it’s because this is the only branch between Balwyn and Ringwood.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of a few gyms in the area over the last few years. This gym is hands down the best. Massive floor area. Always clean and tidy. Everything works. The staff are friendly and helpful. The music isn't too loud and everyone's doing their thing and being respectful of others. It's never too busy. Sometimes there small groups of students who train together who are totally chill. (i.e. no groups of bro's hogging space). I've done spin and pump classes which were great. All good.

Negative experience: Cancelled the one class I joined for , barely any classes , just the same cycle or pump options, even with the top membership- I ended up always going to the Eastland GL . Read the fine print before you sign anything , they will charge significantly if you leave early ( even with extended Covid breaks) both my daughter & I ended up locked in for much longer and ended up paying for the “free month” they gave us

Fantastic experience: Goodlife Health Clubs Box Hill is genuinely one of, if not, the best Goodlife clubs in the region. The facility is huge and accommodates for large numbers of members from all walks of life. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and it definitely rubs off to the other members, as the overall atmosphere of the gym is warm and positive. All the equipment is new, modern, and up to date, and the amount of which is provided ensures that there is little to no wait time to use something during peak hours. Very good gym to train at - I've recommended all able-body friends to join already.
Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Its clean, with up to date well maintained equipment. The classes are really good too, with a good mix of day and night sessions. Wish it had a steam room, but really, its a nice modern, age inclusive, friendly gym.

I've been to most Goodlife gyms across Melbourne and whilst they all have great staff , Box Hill have the best . I've never had any issues with payments , cancelations etc including through Covid. Negative experience: I signed up for a 6 month contact in 2020. The club didn't open in time due to construction delays and I never used the club. A few weeks ago I realized that they have been charging my account this whole time even though the contract was 6 months. 2 months ago I contacted them and asked to stop charging my account and to refund any funds that have been deducted from my account after my six month contract. They didn't accept to refund saying your contact will be renewed if you don't cancel it and to this day they are still charging my account despite me sending 10s of emails. Don't give your account details to them or you will be charged forever.
Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars I would! Signed up on what I was told was a rolling contract at the end of 2020, cancelled my membership in person at the start of 2021 due to covid etc. Realised at the end of 2021 that they had still been taking money from my account on and off all year, so called and cancelled again in January this year, was told at the time it’s all cancelled and they would look into my payments throughout 2021...... Have just had to call again to find out about my payments in 2021 being refunded, to be told they are still taking money out my account and I’m on a 12 month contract that they will have to speak to regional manager to have cancelled!!! In disbelief to be honest and wish I had never looked at the club in the first place. Edit - after reading all other reviews on here it seems they play a very good game of extracting as much money from customers as possible even when you want to cancel your account, they will just change customer relations manager to someone new who says they don’t have the cancellation information from previously! Wish I had pushed for original cancellation in writing....note to others to do this and avoid 14 months of hassle!

Negative experience: This place is hopeless. I signed up their membership last year and the sales promised me to upgrade me to platinum after 3 months (i have all the messages as evidence), after multiple reach out to them still didn't hear from their manager. I have moved place during that time and it's too far to go back to Box Hill. Now they passed my account to ARMA Group as debt collector company even after I requested them to freeze my account during pandemic! They will keep emailing you and sending you legal letters to harass you, if you don't pay your debt they will go for further legal proceedings. PLEASE do not sign up with Goodlife EVER!!

Positive experience: Staff are friendly and the gym facilities are clean and new. The warehouse style high ceilings mean that that there is plenty of airflow throughout the gym which is important during these Covid times. Ian, the manager is proactive and listens to new members and is working hard to put on more classes.

Negative experience: Worst service in the planet. These guys are the most unprofessional, rude and arrogant sales people I’ve ever had to deal with. I’d never join this gym. They advise you can have free trial… only to harass you daily asking why you haven’t joined!!? ♂️ Isn’t that what a free trial is all about?! To see if you like it! Then they say, the free trial is only if you join stupidly at its finest. My plan was to join, as I live near by. I joined HAMMERS… much better vibe and people. The manger there shouldn’t be called a manager. I think he’s too busy on Instagram to manage a club.
Negative experience: Dear owner, you have a good understanding of what is going on. I reached out multiple times. Eric Bagrianov now kindly confirmed that I have still have a 5 month contract left with goodlife. (the lady on the phone didn't even seem to care) I signed up on 03/01/2021 for 12 months. Yes, I do believe in the fine lines of the contract it would mention somewhere that you actually sign up for a minimum spent with goodlife, but when I came in to sign up the options we're 12 or 18 months. no one ever mentioned a minimum spend. I have not been able to work for a big part of all the lockdowns. I can simply not afford anything i am not using at this stage. I mentioned that I moved to Clayton as well, witch is 30-40 min from box hill and that I have a gym in this building available. this was "unfortunate" according to the lady on the phone. think it's bizarre that a company as goodlife, is trying to benefit of a world wide pandemic.

Negative experience: First time giving a one star review, which I don’t want to but leave me no choice. Cancellation the membership takes months and still direct debit my account!!! So disappointed of the customer service. Such a shame of a new gym, good staff members but provide poor service when you would need to cancel the membership.

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms in the area, very new equipment, covid safety standards are excellent. The staff are very friendly as well as the PT's, it does get busy at times but since it's a 24/7 gym you can never skip leg day.

Negative experience: Horrible experience! First they told me if you refer your friend you will be charged less from next week itself still they deducted the same amount through out month. As another lady told me it takes upto month i still waited for a month and still they charged me same amount and there was one off payment added to my account for no reason ( I wasn’t informed). They are actually fooling people to join the gym. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Please stay cautious and read your contract i might say read it thrice because they would add something or the other later on.

Negative experience: I’m writing on behalf of my boyfriend. During lockdown is over,he called in to cancel the membership and he understand there’s a cancellation fee occur so one of the staff asked him to provide his card details, which he did, so he thought the membership has been processed and automatically cancelled! Until few days ago he received a email from the Armagroup saying that he has an over due account and it will effect his credit rating. So we went to the gym and asked about the situation, reception said that we asked for transfer account. Excuse me, cancel and transfer are two different things! To be honest, is it not clear by saying cancel membership over the phone or there’s some lack of management and communication? Ridiculous

Negative experience: Extremely dishonest provider. Only way to resolve is to contact ombudsman. Please do it even before you contact them.
Negative experience: As advised by the previous reviwers, this place is full of liars. They will say anything and everything to rip you off. 3 months ago my cancellation fee was $156. Now it is $166. Last week I was told by I have 3 weeks left in my contract. Yesterday their manager Tania told me still 3 and a half months to go. It is fascinating how they are lying and still in the business. PS: contact service ombudsman if you want to get any dispute reolved in your favour. It worked for me ;)
Negative experience: Wouldn’t let me cancel membership due to Covid. Once I paid cancellation fees they don’t know the exact dates my membership expires. “Before may” isn’t a professional answer you morons! How can you not see the date my membership expires?!?
Negative experience: it is the hardest way to cancel the Goodlife membership in the world, after you call them,emailing them,face-to-face talking them,they will keep playing the word game with you, they ignore all the conversation, they deny all that they says, what a nasty company,the Manager Tania, the staff Ellie, Sarah, thanks all of your helpless, hopeless customer service, please stop playing your game, don't be nasty to customer.

Negative experience: As long time members at GoodLife I would highly advise THAT YOU DO NOT JOIN BOX HILL. The cancellation process with the gym was extremely long winded; taking an email, 2 visits in person and 3 phone calls. Additionally some staff are confrontational and very demeaning in their approach. It's a shame, considering the service provided in the past GoodLife gyms was excellent.
Negative experience: Terrible experience with the staff here, cancelled my monthly membership in June (Between lockdowns) but was not told they were deferring final payment due to COVID lockdowns. Got a huge bill in November for a membership I was able to use for less than 3 weeks. It has taken so much time just to figure out what the final fee should have been and why as the contracts are so confusing that even the Manager cant work out what they are charging.
Negative experience: Specifically signed a month to month agreement due to coercive gym contract experiences and since COVID had moved house and not financially viable for me to continue membership. The cancellation process as a result was so demeaning and quick to threaten debt collection I will not ever sign up with Goodlife again. To try and charge me $50+ plus for a gym that's been closed since March and on a supposed contract clause that wasn't expressely mentioned is very bad faith business.

Negative experience: Staff has no coordination at all, stalled me for weeks for getting the review on my membership and charged me for extra fees while i was clearly answered upon asking that i will not be charged for the admin fee as i went there with one month voucher. BAD EXPERIENCE!
Positive experience: It is a very good just with just small thing. They need to fixed their alarm. It went off for no reason twice.
