Franks Gym

Negative experience: quite dirty, overpriced for the area, blaring music, staff not very nice. has some nice machines but they’re all very old. would steer clear. it’s empty all day, which is nice, but it’s evident why it’s not at capacity….

Positive experience: I have spent a fair bit of time training in this gym over the years. It’s certainly in a great location with plenty of space which is probably a big part of its appeal to most people. However, the building is very old, as is most of the equipment and the internal spaces. Unfortunately, there seems to be a limited amount of cleaning going on throughout the entire facility and it’s staff and management could probably be a little bit more friendly. If this gym was located in Noosaville, it would struggle to compete with some of the newer, more modern gyms. However, if there was a major renovation carried out with new equipment purchased and a rigorous cleaning routine, it would easily regain its title as the most popular gym in Noosa.

Positive experience: Good facilities. Friendly staff. If you have an international phone number don‘t bother coming outside of staffed hours. The automated access system only works with Australian numbers. A bit annoying after confirming the day before how easy it is supposed to be. Why not just use email?

Fantastic experience: I've never been to a gym with such a friendly team and welcoming members. My mum and I are visiting from out of town and decided to join the 6am Pump class. We arrived just as the class was about to start and, feeling a bit lost, were amazed when fellow gym-goers immediately stepped in to help us set up our equipment. The support and kindness we received from everyone was something we've never experienced before, and we're so grateful for it. I would highly recommend Franks to anyone looking for a positive and supportive gym environment!

Fantastic experience: Visiting from interstate and could not have asked for a better gym as a casual. Weekly pass was great value for money and the gym floor has everything I needed. Loved the open air atmosphere and friendly faces. Could not recommend more highly

Positive experience: The gym is okay overall but feels overpriced for the quality provided. Cleanliness could definitely be improved—some areas, particularly the equipment, seem to be overlooked too often. (Scared to write this as an the owner is so hostile to constructive feedback) It also feels like management is resting on their laurels, relying on an older, loyal clientele rather than striving to improve services or compete with other gyms. A little more effort in both customer experience and facility upkeep would go a long way. Not bad, but there are better options for the price.

Negative experience: Used Franks while visiting Noosa recently. It’s not a bad space with plenty of equipment, though much of this is a bit careworn and tired. Handles/ curl bars used for the cable machines are worn with bearings gone making for jerky movements / screeching, and cables easily coming off pulleys etc. 24$ for a single visit isn’t the cheapest but you pay for convenience, and prices are advertised at the reception desk, so that’s fine. Main comment is that it really needs a good clean. All the touch points are filthy, and when you look a little closer there’s a layer of grime over most surfaces, whether it’s the floor, weights benches, cable machines or amenities. I noticed the same discarded disposable water bottle in the same spot for three days running- presume no cleaner had been in those three days or it would have been removed. The above said- I did attend three times in a week and got in a decent workout, though there’s definitely a need for a deep clean. Edit- following response from owner: I don’t think commenting on amenities provided, price and cleanliness constitutes a strange review…?

Fantastic experience: Love the friendly staff and awesome facilities at Franks! The girls at the front are so lovely and love I can grab a coffee after a workout. The gym is always clean and well maintained. Definitely recommend ☺️

Negative experience: I bought a 3 day pas thinking i would be able to go in on Saturday nights en Sundays as I was not informed otherwise by the staff. Now I’m standing here and it turns out I need a tag? Waste of $67.

Negative experience: Very expensive gym, benches and equipment in bad conditions( probably 20 years old) everywhere full of spider webs dirty and water fountain tastes horrible. Staff is not very nice. Don’t recommend this gym at all.

Fantastic experience: If you’re staying in the area for the weekend and want to start your day with a pump, some endorphins and some friendly locals- you need to come and see the guys at Franks Gym. With every machine you could need, a really cool old school vibe and some weapons in there to motivate you for those last few reps. I had a great workout, was able to work in with others and had a few great chats. Franks has character and will leave you feeling like a million bucks!

Fantastic experience: Great Local Gym

Negative experience: Prices were unreasonably high. $73 for a 3-day pass, and $99 for a one-week pass. This gym also doesn’t offer Free Trials, while most gyms such as Fitness First and Anytime Fitness do. A one-day Free Trial would be nice. Some local gyms in Noosa only charge $16.50 for a week. I was also roped into paying an additional $6 for a towel on my first visit. Good customer service means waiving these types of expenses for first time customers, Kyrah. Casual visitors are not allowed 24/7 access, and apparently a ‘day pass’ is a one-time visit pass according to Kyrah. I was told this after I paid. This is deceptive and misleading. Other gyms in Noosa are bigger and have the same vibe/atmosphere, so why charge 3x more for Frank’s gym? Value/Price proposition is a key business consideration that Franks ought to re-evaluate. Other google reviews have expressed a similar sentiment regarding the price, the towel policy, and the staff. The unprofessional manner in which Frank’s gym responds to these reviews reflects firmly on their poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: I had a membership for 3 months at Franks Gym, and I really enjoyed my time there! Staff is very friendly, there is a nice atmosphere and had all the equipment that I wanted. The yoga lessons were my favourite classes! Will definitely go back when I come back to Noosa!

Negative experience: Don’t believe for a minute that this is a friendly local gym! The owner is rude & disrespectful & his reputation is well known in the small community of Noosa . Wish I had never joined this gym but thankfully I’m now at Snap Fitness Noosa with friendly & helpful staff,, great facilities & 24/7 access, clean equipment & a cheaper membership is a bonus.Franks gym you have done me a favor.

Negative experience: I visited Frank's Gym recently and had a disappointing experience. Despite checking the website, there was no warning about the towel policy, and when I called ahead, no one answered. Upon arrival, we were rudely told off for not having a towel. Moreover, the casual visit fee of $25 is unreasonably high compared to the $10-$15 standard at other gyms. The staff's attitude was unwelcoming, especially for visitors to Noosa. Frank's Gym needs to improve its communication and be more accommodating to maintain a positive reputation. Edit. While I appreciate your commitment to gym etiquette, your response comes across as unprofessional and somewhat narcissistic. A gym should prioritize friendliness and welcome, not push people away. Rules are essential, but communicating them respectfully is equally important. Your suggestion to stick to American clubs with "no gym culture" seems dismissive and could alienate potential members. Constructive dialogue and understanding might better address concerns raised by visitors.

Fantastic experience: I’ve travelled and trained all over the world - Frank’s rocks, and Kym son-of-Frank is a star - this is one of the best family run gyms in Australia. Friendly, open-air section is fantastic, proper strength and functional training equipment, and the community vibe is great too. Bring on that ice bath mate!

Negative experience: It is too expensive for what it is. I payed 225 AUD for four weeks, 25 AUD just for the 24/7 entry (which you really have to pay, otherwise you can just train during the staffed hours which are while most people work or just two hours on weekends). When I got my membership, the woman at the reception seemed annoyed and was not helpful at all, I had to find the changing rooms on my own which can be complicated the first time. The other staff members were pretty nice though. I am used to a gym which is way bigger and better equipped, but that is just my personal view, many people told me that they think Frank's is quite big. However, there is a small ladies area which I like the idea of- but there are men training in the area and nobody seems to care, also the area is pretty see-through. The changing room, toilets and shower are nice but while there are classes going on, you have to go through the training area to get there and can not use the hit area. So all in all I did not like Frank's very much but for me there was no better options since Snap Fitness is too far away.

Negative experience: If you want to go to a gym where the staff meet you with hostility for being a guest and the trainers strut around without helping. This is the place, I can cop outdated equipment but the vibe is horrendous.

Fantastic experience: Everything you need. Huge free weights area, lots of "machines", countless cardio units, well laid out and super friendly people in the middle of Noosa Junction. What more do you want?

Fantastic experience: Needed a good place to do a serious heavy leg day and this gym was perfect. Plenty of free weight loaded machines and pin loaded that really got my legs hit from everywhere. The same was available for all the muscle groups. The cafe is a real bonus to refuel and recover before heading out to continue your day.

Fantastic experience: I’m not particularly fond of writing google reviews, I don’t think they truly give full exposure to what business offer, but this gym is definitely deserving of my time to type a 5 star review. While it’s a small gym, the space is utilised to its full potential. The deliberate selection of equipment such as nautilus machines and even really well aged caligym equipment is what really ticked the box for me. Great atmosphere, and was greeted by friendly staff every time I came in. While I came to Noosa to enjoy what nature can offer, I have to say my stay wouldn’t have been as good if I didn’t have this mad little gym to go and pump iron in. Hats off to everyone at Franks Gym.

Fantastic experience: I was really pleased that I chose Frank's gym on my recent trip to Noosa. Everyone made me feel very welcome and the social coffee after training was a great way to start the day... my first oat milk latte. What I liked the most was the breezy environment upstairs with a lot of natural breeze flowing through the workout space. Next time I am back in Noosa it will be Franks again for sure... Can't fault it

Fantastic experience: Love my weekly visits to Franks! Always greeted by great staff with genuine small town warmth. I’m by no means a candidate to win Noosa’s next triathlon but I always find a comfort zone for me at Franks. About to try one of their membership included yoga classes next week! If you’re looking to get surf fit, this gym has it all!

Negative experience: There are better gyms in Noosa like Noosafit. This one doesn’t have the village feel it used to - no sense of community and general good kind reception. The blond woman at the front was unfriendly and clearly bad for business, as both my partner and I went elsewhere.
