Derrimut 24:7 Gym - Newcomb

Negative experience: It is always so hot in the gym with fans that aren’t turned on and no ac. Weights are never put away and if you go on the floor in functional area you will get covered in dirt. No staff ever on the floor to make sure there’s no tripping hazards. These things are such a shame because apart from that it is a fantastic gym.

Negative experience: 90 percent of a orientation that go here are more interested how the shape of behind looks than actually doing any exercise. Each year the tights move further and further closer to covering the face. The gym itself is about as clean as a public toilet. Staff to busy checking ticktok instagram Facebook and all the other crap they do on the phone. Give it a few years and the equipment will be as dated as a sticky date pudding

Negative experience: Derrimut gym Newcomb has decent equipment but that's about it,the gym is pretty dirty most of the time,fans on the wall hardly work,was told if they turned them on that they would probably trip the power,it's always hot in the gym and uncomfortable to train in.the air con hasn't worked apparently since COVID which I think is such poor management of a gym this size and the amount of people coming in and out everyday,the high ups should be disgusted in themselves to not have had the air con fixed.disrespectful to all members.corio derrimuts is how a gym should be,clean as and nice cool air con throughout the place making it comfortable to train.derrimut gym Newcomb needs to sort the place and management out asap.

Negative experience: The girl behind the reception is so rude. The gym is absolutely filthy. Theres too many gyms out there now that are clean and have competitive prices.

Positive experience: Decent layout. Did like the fact that they had a safety squat bar and a trap bar, something the Corio gym doesn't have. Showers were spacious but need a bench or another hook to hang stuff. Also need to run the fans or have better aircon circulating in the squad rack area and cardio area. It was only about 22 outside, felt like 32 inside.

Fantastic experience: I've been a dedicated member of this gym since its opening, and it has become like a second home to me. Even though I've recently moved to Armstrong Creek, I continue to make the journey to Newcomb because of the exceptional experience and sense of community it offers. P.S. I would love to see the return of group classes, or at the very least, have access to the group room for my own HIIT sessions

Negative experience: I'm not a clean freak but Newcomb is very dirty, I read another review from a year ago with pics, nothing's changed. The functional area has fake grass and if you kneel on it all the dirt and grub gets all over your nice clean clothes, today there were ciggy butts and rubbish on the floor, so disgusting. Machines are really dusty, never routinely wiped down, floor space underneath and around machines are filthy especially at the end of the treadmills in the ladies only area, wall fans are caked with dust, walls are covered in dust and spider webs, its not healthy!! I've been going all 2024 and tried to not let it bother me but I can't do it anymore, disappointed much. Routine vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down is all it takes to level up!

Fantastic experience: Been looking for a decent gym in years and finally I found it! Excellent clean and modern with great music and high quality gym machines throughout. Price for annual membership is much more affordable than other competitors. They also have a separate women’s gym with all the equipment you need, sauna and great classes. Friendly staff and they also sell food and apparel.

Fantastic experience: Its good gym however mirror are soo dirty it would be great if lads could take pictures of sexy body transformation. Otherwise everything is good let’s see if glass gets someone’s attention.

Negative experience: Plenty equipment to meet everyone’s goals. Relatively friendly Gym staff should get and mingle instead of hiding behind the counter. Toilets are probably the cleanest place in the whole gym….it’s very grotty! I’ve only seen one cleaner!

Positive experience: I do really enjoy this gym, there’s plenty of equipment to use and staff are very friendly! But the lack of air conditioning is quite a let down and makes it generally uncomfortable, and unbearable to workout on hot days

Fantastic experience: Prime value for money- I’m currently paying $3.81/wk. This Derrimut may not have the basketball court and pools etc, but the staff are incredible and Ive forgotten my AirPods out in the open for half a day and no one stole them and you can make eye contact with people without worrying about getting in a fight. It gets busy but I rate this place

Positive experience: In terms of Variety and amount of equipment you can not beat Derrimuts. There is Multiple of every machine so you are rarely waiting. Very impressive to see. However I do find the Cleanliness of bathrooms pretty poor And to not have the Dumbbell rack in order is strange. Given there is a 20 dollar casual fee and an employee there 24/7, You don’t pay for organization nor cleanliness.

Negative experience: Plenty of equipment, no one puts anything away, dumbbells scattered through out the gym. Worst of all is the level of cleanliness, it’s a joke. The floor area is rarely cleaned, hair and rubbish throughout the gym.

Fantastic experience: Rock climbing wall is fun, left my climbing shoes so couldn't climb properly but that was great! Sauna is very fancy too with colours inside, love it! Boxing area is cool too:) Shame group classes here aren't running at the moment though you can use the room still Also fantastic it's just across another venue that has a swimming pool to go after the gym ! Ladies room is cosy for more privacy and less people:)

Negative experience: The WORST gym culture I have ever been to, there is so much disrespect to the brand it’s honestly atrocious 1 star for cardio equipment and another for the weights/ machine area. More than 3/4 of people who walk in the door don’t bring a towel, I have seen many many people not even wipe their equipment, with a state that was massively locked down this is crazy. Not one sign saying bring a towel anywhere. I asked a staff member and she said it was in the T&C’s.. You can go in at any time of the day and a lot of the machines are loaded or practically fully loaded, again no signs to say put your weights back. If I could upload photos of (right now) 1pm 2/5/23 you’d be able to see what I mean For such a massive brand name the managers/ owners don’t care about the state of the gym or the gym etiquette, but obviously this is ‘normal’.

Negative experience: Worst bench service and at the time u leave the gym they says you have to pay for the next 30 days period even though when we ask if their is any cancellations fee , they says like no cancellation fee you can quick the gym at any time but now they are not upto what they have said in the beginning. They looted my money up for 2 months

Positive experience: Love the equipment, wish they would put arm machines chest machines and other body equipment together. Music is offensive nobody wants to listen to racist misogynist songs while working out. Get with the times.

Fantastic experience: Massive gym, friendly staff and clean as. Just don't try and get a squat rack at about 5:30pm or you're in for a bad time. Also wish that the rock climbing wall would get reset occasionally but those are tiny gripes. Will definitely be back in the winter.

Negative experience: Todd one of the staff was rude and obnoxious towards myself and my son . I’ve been a member at derrimuts for years and for the best part rhe staff are amazing. Today I came in to view one of my clients in the group fitness room. I was told I couldn’t have Kye in the gym because he was under 14 despite not being in the gym And only the group fitness room. My sons, accompanied me into the gym a dozen other times with no issues and further to this has had no issues going into other gyms whilst accompanied by myself . I have my own gym and my son has been surrounded in the gym environment his whole life. Deeply disappointed at the way this was handle today and how I was rudely spoken too. As my membership is paid in full and was on sale when I bought it I can’t cancel it now suspend it or even transfer it . Moving forward, as long as Todd is a manager at Newcomb I’ll never step foot into that gym again and will be in contact with Nic the owner to forward a customer complaint .

Fantastic experience: The best gym I've ever been to. More Cardio and strength machines than you can poke a stick at. Only thing it could possibly improve on is providing some chalk in the Olympic barbell/plate area but maybe I just couldn't find it.

Negative experience: the way I was spoken to on the phone when asking about a query was absolutely disgusting and the prices are absolutely ridiculous.

Positive experience: Great facilities but the casual rate has been jacked up to $15 per entry. Don't go often enough to justify a membership but did like to option to go when I wanted. Probably won't bother anymore.

Negative experience: Going to close my account due to sudden major price rise in 2020. I signed a lifetime contract for roughly $13.70 (plus 3 monthly direct debit fee passed on to clients) this price rise also includes the people who work there to provide the best service. So head office, I think you will loose many customers over this. How did I sign a "lifetime set fee contract" to be unwilliningly signed up to a new $20 contract. I will be looking elsewhere. Many places close to me other than derrimits.

Positive experience: Great gym - cheap, lots of equipment and friendly staff. However, out of all the gyms I have been to, there has been a noticeable lower level of gym etiquette, such as, weights are usually left racked.

Negative experience: WAY TOO HOT! This gym is great, large variety of equipment, large amount of space. Generally a great place if you avoid peak times, but...they don’t turn the air conditioning on high enough (or even on at all some days). This gym opens a single door near the squat racks, tucked as far away from the cardio section as you can get, and you can’t feel the A/C even when you’ve just walked in. It’s almost impossible to do cardio due to the heat, and I find even lifting weights a struggle if I’m not stationed near the open door. I have a membership here, but won’t be renewing solely because of the gym temp. in the summer. If they turned up the A/C, I’d definitely renew.
