Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Anytime fitness Northcote for a while now, and it’s honestly one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. The place is huge, so there’s never a problem finding space to work out, even during peak hours. The equipment is top-notch and always clean and well-maintained. What really stands out, though, is the customer service. The staff are super friendly, approachable, and always ready to help with a smile. They genuinely care about their members and create a welcoming, positive atmosphere. If you’re looking for a gym with plenty of space, excellent service, and amazing equipment, I highly recommend this one! :)

Negative experience: I can’t comment on the gym itself, but I do have to complain about their at times super aggressive marketing. They’ve send me 8 SMS, all from different numbers, plus six emails for the same promotion offer. I find this absolutely unacceptable.

Positive experience: The gym is decent! Local, plenty of parking, most of the machines needed for a good workout. Be aware between 3-5pm weekdays it is infested with teenagers who either don’t know gym etiquette or ignore it.

Fantastic experience: Signed up the other day and was very impressed by the service and attention that I was given. I am new to the gym but Mohammad was so helpful and made me feel at ease. Prices were reasonable and offered me the kind of flexibility that I wanted.

Positive experience: A good gym if you’re going off peak times. Avoid if you like to go peak times and like your privacy. Management allows tripod recording of workouts so i would avoid if you don’t want to be recorded in the background . Not sure of the legalities of it but maybe try one of the other close anytime fitness gyms .

Fantastic experience: I've just joined AF northcote and the experience has been lovely in my past few weeks. The team are friendly, and space is great. They're on top of cleaning and replacing equipment quickly which is awesome. I'm loving being apart of the AF family too because it means if I'm out and closer to another location I don't just have to go to my home gym. Get in those holiday workouts . Thanks for giving me a space to get me back into things again, its been a comfortable and welcoming place for me to get fit again.

She is an amazing trainer, so knowledgeable, is passionate about her clients progression & an inspiration to be around. Positive experience: I trained at AF Northcote for a year between October 2022 and November 2023. I trained 3-4x per week. I had transferred from another AF gym. I did get good fitness results, and the range of equipment is okay, and many goers were friendly, but also had many issues too. In 1 year, AF Northcote increased my membership fee twice. The first time because I moved from another AF. The second fee increase was poor form due to apparent “upgrades” (which were necessary as the gym is getting older!) The fee increase was communicated misleadingly: the email only included the “small increase” not the “total fortnightly rate”. In late 2023, my membership rate was expensive at $37.90 per fortnight. The gym became worse over the year. The music was played increasingly loud, the toilets got dirtier, soap and cleaning spray & wipes ran out, and the equipment wasn’t always shelved. The gym also became busier. Finding equipment free was a growing challenge. Too many new members had been signed up, for this small gym space. High school teenagers also just hung around. The range of equipment was less than other AF branches, probably due to a lack of space and investment. AF Northcote did add and replace some equipment while I was there, but other AF branches are better and newer. There was also some people who trained at the gym who took up lots of space and harassed other gym goers, as well as the staff. This included verbal and physical harassment, to hurry up on equipment. When this harassment was raised with the managers, it appeared that this was a known offender. But the managers lacked the courage to institute a permanent ban on them. The gym also once posted full names of frequent gym goers on social media. This was a blatant breach of privacy and a safety concern. AF Northcote is a low quality outfit.

Fantastic experience: Love the Gym and Staff… majority of members will help out (needing of a spot) regardless if you know them or not. As for Pricing, I timed joining the gym with one of their plans, plus having a “refer a friend” discount, had me paying no joining fee, and free membership for over a month and a half. The staff were then kind enough to change my rate from the 12 month rate, to the 18 month rate, but still for 12 months (given I’m a student) I pay about 19$ a week, but for the quality of the equipment and overall cleanliness of the gym, you for sure get your bang for your buck compared to other local gyms.
