Negative experience: No offer of a free trial. Excessive joining fee. Poor condition of gym equipment. Inadequate equipment. Frequent technical issues with the app. Staff booking in wrong classes (because the app wasn't working I had to call to book &/or cancel). Instructors are nice. Admin at castle hill not so much & incompetent. Refused to transfer membership to North rocks until 1 month of my membership had lapsed. Told by other staff this is not a policy but a money grab from castle Hills club. Avoid fernwood at all costs.

She’s incredibly motivational and pushes me to give my best every session. Whether it’s through her positive attitude, tailored workouts, or constant encouragement, she makes sure I stay on track with my fitness goals. Honestly, Ngan is the reason I keep coming back – she makes working out feel rewarding and fun. Highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: This is a 24/7 gym and I got locked in the carpark and couldn’t get out and it was only around 10:30 , which is probably late for most but considering it is a 24/7 gym I don’t really expect to be locked in the carpark. I had to get someone to pick me up and then now I’ll have to go back tomorrow morning before work to get it again. Will not be coming back… the staff are so rude like not welcoming at all and really condescending , passive aggressiveness is not on lol

Fantastic experience: The gym has recently undergone new management and it has never been better!! There is an amazing pilates studio! and the gym is much more spacious. The staff are so friendly and always able to help! Fernwood is an amazing gym!

Fantastic experience: The sign up process was very easy and smooth! Fernwood is different because they really sit down and have a chat about your fitness goals. The facilities are also clean and well maintained with a wide variety of machines.

Negative experience: Why do I believe this gym deserves a 1 star? It doesn't matter why you need to end your membership (family/health matter), you need to pay $500 including $300 cancellation fee plus two further direct debits (1 month of membership fee); The equipment are super old and the quality of the music played is just as bad as an old underground bar; The creche doesn't have any windows and is very tiny and there is no limit for the number of children who can stay at the same time; Reformer Pilates is always booked out and you literally need an assistant to access the app at midnight and book you in for early morning classes; The traffic at Victoria road and Green road is just too heavy most of the time and chances are slim you can travel from Kellyville and not to get stuck in the traffic; There are not many early morning classes you can attend before work and the timetable is almost empty on the weekend; and The location (roof carpark) is just a bit inconvenient and I never felt safe to attend gym at night time. Make sure you attend a few trial sessions and feel the atmosphere before committing to this gym.

Fantastic experience: Joined today can’t wait to start toning and losing the the kilos starting tomorrow. Fontini was my Fabulous Fernwood consultant answered all my questions and queries how could I not sign up with such professional and a smiling face 3 months on I was enjoying reformer Pilates with Carmel and getting to the gym nice and early every day. Down side 2 nd cubicle in toilets were putrid many times there is rubbish ie wipes left over the gym floor near machines and yesterday morning the below happened to my car yes some putrid woman keyed my car I’m usually there at 4.30am however yesterday I was later due to wanting to see the Matilda’s win so this meant I arrived at gym at 5am and left at 6.30 am I park in same spot every day and yesterday bammm some putrid woman keyed my car when I called Fernwood yesterday I was told by Emily that she will notify management and will get them to look at cameras today I was told they don’t have cameras out the front near the entrance I then Proceeded to ask to cancel with no cost and was told very abruptly by Danka the lay of the land. Well I hope who ever did this to my car sees this because I don’t want to be associated with women who do this to others cars. I won’t be back To add more It is quite concerning that a 24 hour women's gym is located where the car park has no cctv so there is no security for safety of patrons found this out today via centre management

Fantastic experience: Enrolling at Fernwood was a seamless experience with Fontini. She guided me through the entire onboarding process and gave me a tour of the gym. Her friendly and approachable nature has filled me with enthusiasm to begin my journey at Fernwood.

Negative experience: Not happy so far Started at this gym about 3-4 months ago. As part of the onboarding package (which they charge $209 for separate from the weekly fee) they included 1 trial fit 30, 1 nutrition coach session,1 personal training session and 1 reformer Pilates class as trial free sessions. I’ve had both the trial fit 30 and the trial reformer but not the other two trial classes which I was promised. I have asked at the front desk multiple times and they say the same thing that their trainers are busy for personal training session etc and that they’ll take down my number but didn’t bother to call be back for quite some time now (I have asked nearly 3-4 times now) Other than this however the environment is great as it is comfortable and everyone is quite friendly and the classes are not bad. Just wish they would not rip off customers as it is a quite expensive gym ( compared to other places like fitness first or anytime) - I don’t mind them charging high prices as it is women’s only but they should also follow through with commitment for what they have promised they would be offering . Just wanted to share my thoughts about starting here. Definetly a very good gym with clean ammenities but not rlly worth the price in my opinion, but good if your just starting out and not comfortable with standard gyms. I think fitness first or anytime is more worth the price ‍♀️

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. I signed up for a trial for the Reformer Pilates classes, when the class finished they pushed a hard sale to sign up on the spot, with no time to deliberate. The gym is dated and could do with an update, the toilets are always gross and need a clean, the App is pretty useless and crashes all the time and the staff aren't very friendly (not the instructors). The classes - Unfortunately this gym doesn't split their lessons up into beginners, intermediate and advanced. All classes are mixed and during every single class without fail there is a beginner that needs to be inducted. This eats into the class time, which are only 40 mins and because classes are back to back they never make up for the lost time. Another frustration I've have with this gym is the fact I feel they rip their members off. I paused my membership during the Xmas break (they charge you $10 a fortnight to pause) and unfortunately I got my dates mixed up and my membership started back up earlier than I thought so I accidentally missed a Direct Debit payment. I was completely unaware until I got a call a week later and a lady told me not to worry and that they would try to take the DD again in a few days. Which I had no reason to question as this is pretty standard practise for companies. Unknown to me, this was the first of MANY calls, all during working hours. Do the staff not communicate with each other? This is only a small gym and I didn't realise that there was that many members of staff to relay information to and warrant being continuously called about the same thing over and over when this only required a SINGLE phone call. Payments are taken alternating Thursdays and I was called AGAIN on this day requesting to clear the payment over the phone. I explained that I'd spoken to numerous people and had been told that the payment would automatically be taken and I also explained to her that she was calling on the day DDs are taken so I didn't want to risk being charged twice. Luckily I was right to push back because the payment was taken later that day. This is when I found out about the $15 they charged me for missing the 1 attempt to take the DD payment - even though I was told not to worry and that they'd take the DD automatically again. I find it outstanding that not only was I charged $15 for accidentally missing 1 DD but that fact I was hounded by numerous people and nobody managed to make me aware of this charge. I take full responsibility and understand it's my fault for mixing my dates up (who doesn't loose track of the days during the xmas break?!), I'm not even disputing having to pay my membership for the week I didn't use it, but the fact they don't give their members the benefit of the doubt and more than 1 attempt to take the DD before slapping a $15 fee onto them is just a bit ridiculous. I tried to raise a complaint with the staff about the $15 charge and was met with rudeness and no help at all. They just kept reinforcing its out of their control and that I need to raise it with head office. I was given an email address to send my complaints to and I'm still waiting to hear back from them almost 2 months later. After this whole ordeal I told the staff I wasn't happy and wouldn't be proceeding with my membership and to cancel with immediate effect, as my 6 month contract has been fulfilled. The lady on the phone told me ALL memberships are "continuous" and that I have to pay another 2 fortnightly payments whilst they process my request. At no point was I made aware when signing up that my membership would roll over and "continue" - this is something they've hidden in their T&Cs. It's also worth noting they expect you to go into the gym in person to cancel your membership, which is also a bit ridiculous. To say i'm disappointed in my experience with this gym is probably an understatement. It's a shame because some of the instructors are great but they don't consider the continuous stream of beginners and they rip you off at any chance they get. Avoid at all cost.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been loving coming to Fernwood Fitness Castle Hill! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, there’s plenty of equipment, the reformer Pilates class is great and I’ve lost 3kg and 28cm in the last 4 weeks with HYPOXI. It’s been the best gym and I’m looking forward to seeing my results in the next few months.

Positive experience: I was given a tour of this gym. The gym was clean and not as busy as other gyms. What I didn’t like about this gym was that they spammed me with their sales calls! I booked the tour one day ahead, and I had five missed calls from them on the same day to confirm the tour!! After the tour, they called me many times during working hours, which I couldn’t answer. Once, I was in a meeting and had 3 missed calls from this gym in just an hour!! I finally decided to join another gym, as I felt so annoyed with their sales team.

Fantastic experience: I attended Fernwood Fitness Castle Hill for four years and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The staff and instructors were lovely, and the gym environment was always positive. My experience was so great that I went on to work for Fernwood as a personal trainer. The team was incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic about their clients and the club. Fernwood is an amazing place for everyone, especially newcomers to the gym. They are very welcoming and provide step-by-step support to help all members achieve their fitness goals.

Fantastic experience: This morning I called castle Hill and spoke with Caitlin she was amazing. She is very friendly, professional and helpful. She promised to call me with the information I needed and she called me within an hour. I've called few other Fernwood, no one was close enough. She is doing a very good Job and She the best. Positive experience: Fernwood Castle Hill has a lovely atmosphere and great facilities. When you first walk in, you are greeted by friendly and helpful staff and no gym.sweat smell. They have 24/7 access with a key fob and seems pretty safe (although the carpark downstairs can get a bit too quiet ans isolated outside of staffed hours, but there is a carpark up the ramp also which is just outside the gym). When I first started at Fernwood Castle Hill they provided nice touches such as cool towels, bath mats. For after the showers, breakfast set up, nice essential oils burning, it is sad to see those slowly disappear. Also, when things such as stereo speakers, fans are broken, it took them weeks to get them fixed despite gym instructors and members also expressed their frustrations over this period when staff used to be proactive. In more recent times, more and more gym instructors have left and these group classes replaced by virtual classes, which has resulted in less gym time options and certain face-to-face group classes becoming bigger. The amenities are clean and I love the flowers placed in the change room and that there are hooks and shelves where they are needed within the shower cubicles. Overall, Fernwood Castle Hill is a lovely gym for women to work out with a good variety of group classes and is easy to get to with a bus stop just nearby.

Fantastic experience: Sarah is the most amazing instructor. She is super motivational, most of all her sense of humour makes for the best workout. I started Fit 30 because of Sarah, now I am addicted because of Sarah's method of training. Always pushing you a little bit more. We all absolutely love Sarah!!!!

Fantastic experience: I signed up for the reformer pilates membership and it's been so good! Jackie and Lauren are excellent instructors, super informative and are always keeping the workouts fresh. Staff are extremely helpful as well and everyone is so lovely, I'd definitely recommend!
