Positive experience: Good pool but a bit shallow. Gym looks very well equipped.

Fantastic experience: Matt (the current Manager) and team (Karen - PT, Lara - Instructor) are wonderful. Super friendly team and gym-goers who make you feel welcome and at home, and push you when you need it. Very fair, practical and flexible with contract arrangements - perhaps due to Matt's new management.

Negative experience: I signed up for a swim school promotion offering the first lesson paid and the next two free, with the option to decide whether to continue afterwards . My husband and I attended the first three lessons by paying for the first, but we missed the fourth due to a scheduling mix-up. Next week , my husband had an accident and required elbow surgery, so we informed the swim school that we couldn’t continue. Since then, I’ve been receiving weekly reminders about an overdue payment of $290.30, despite emailing the school twice to resolve this. Today, I received the 15th reminder, which has become a major source of frustration. While the swimming instructors are excellent, the administration’s lack of responsibility is disappointing. I advise others to be cautious about such promotions, as there seems to be no proper support for addressing issues. Does anyone know how to handle this situation?

Negative experience: Absolute disgrace!! Called up to end my contact on the 18th of September, as I’m breaking my contract, I was required to pay one month of membership and than a balloon payment of $150 (okay not ideal)… however they have taken 6 weeks of membership and aren’t returning my calls to pay my final payment… Also, my reasons for leaving the gym is it’s very run down, out of 10 treadmills when I went in only 2 were operational. Majority of weight machines are broken, also found gym dusty. Literally goodlife Wantirna or Knox is 1000% better.. Genesis very dissatisfied/please return my calls so I can leave.

Negative experience: Disappointing cancellation process! What the heck?? In late May, I told the front desk I was moving and gave my 30-day notice to cancel my month-to-month membership. The staff assured me they'd take care of it, but a month later, I noticed I was still being charged. I owed a couple of payments, but they never actually cancelled the membership, so my 30-day notice got reset when I called to re-cancel. I changed banks and forgot to check, but by late September, they charged me $19.95 per week for months to clear up the additional 30 days notice they requested because they never processed it originally! When I spoke to Mel from the NSW team, she told me I still owe $119.95 because they didn't process the cancellation and basically forced me to pay for an extra month. She even mentioned that if it goes to collections, they'll add extra fees to make it over $150, which will hurt my credit score. Ridiculous! I’ll never recommend this gym or use any of their other gyms because this is ridiculous. I’m not paying for their admin errors!

Fantastic experience: Have been going to the gym for 8 years ,love every about it.staff are generous and plenti of equipment with a pool...best Thing about the gym is it has 8 squash courts , I got into playing squash and play every week with my friend by booking the courts ( $10 during peak and free outside peak hours )

Negative experience: This gym hasn’t really updated much of anything for a very long time. The equipment is dated, the vibe is dated and the staff are not motivating. With the opening of a LOT of great gyms in the area they’ll need to lift their game to keep members. I’m paying the same membership fee elsewhere and getting a lot more for my money.

Negative experience: Worst gym and no compassion for when you get injured and can't use the gym yet still want money. Unbelievable. How about using the money to fix gym equipment that looks and smells old and rusty.

Negative experience: Equipment- 2/5 most equipments and machines are very old, rusty and torn(needs major upgrades) Staff- 1/5 Initially I had put 4/5 but after my horrendous experience with them it’s now 1/5. After cancelling my membership they said there is a 30 day period which they will still charge me and I was like sure thats fine. A month passes by, and I get a new email saying that my cancellation will happen after another additional month, I call them and they say they’ll fix it and refund the extra amount charged. Few weeks pass by, still being charged, I call them and now they’re saying that they cant change anything. Super disappointed in the staff. Zero care given to customers. Would not recommend this gym to anyone after this incident. Contracts- 1/5 Awful, they run promos just to get you to join followed by a locked in contract meaning if you cancel you need to pay x amount of money and also if your contract ends, they will still charge you for an extra month cuz apparently thats a policy. Would not recommend this gym given all they want is your money and don’t really care about you or your circumstances. Bathrooms/showers/lockers- 3/5 they are usable, however , you need to bring your own lock and the showers are just meh. The bathrooms are clean. Maintenance- 4/5 relatively clean at most times (no rubbish around of any sort) and the temperature in the gym is optimal for a workout. Support- 3/5 Even though I have not received any support myself, the coaching zone and the personal trainers for elderly seem to be very supportive and active. I see them laughing and smiling every morning that I go. Which is awesome and I would recommend for elderly people however if you’re in your teens or 20s I would suggest a different gym if you’re looking to socialise and make friends in the gym. Overall: 1/5 tldr; old gym, decent staff, money-chasing company, clean and well maintained, supportive for elderly.

Positive experience: Please please please get a hip thrust machine, it’s 2024 :( Also editing to say that this is one of the dirtier - if not dirtiest - gym I’ve been to. There’s literally three people at reception who talk all day and for the last three days there’s been no restock of wet wipes for other people to clean the equipment down. If you want to waste money on three people talking in reception all day fine, but at least give us the means to make this gym less of a dirty hole thanks

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible. They promised me a 30 day cooling off period and I cancelled well within this and now theyre saying I only had 7 days and have to pay a cancellation fee and my contract is ongoing for 6 months. Do not sign up!!!!!!!! Will be going to ACCC

Negative experience: They were giving promos but it was not easy to get out on there swimming lessons. My child did not like it there because the staffs were not accomodating. I paid for the remainder of the agreement even if you did not continue the lessons - seems like a trap.

Fantastic experience: The staff are all super nice, welcoming friendly and the people who go gym there are all also generally really nice too.

Negative experience: Place is a scam. I wanted to just try it out for the month, but there was a mix up with my bank details. I called up to fix it up on the first day I was made aware of this and told it was all good and I'll be charged the next week, but was given a massive "late fee" fine that was almost double what I would have paid for the month. After I went in to fix it up again and just pay it all off they told me the total for my month is $140ish TOTAL. I wasn't happy about it, but the staff I worked it out with seemed helpful. Only to find I've been over charged for MORE things that I was told was part of the $140. The gym itself is very mediocre, the equipment is old and a lot of it is broken. The showers have awful water pressure that's about a drizzle and the cleanliness is very subpar. Don't recommend. I seriously can't express how upset this experience has made me. They're definitely not transparent about their scummy billing fees, it's all hidden in the fine print of some big PDF that I'll be honest, I only skimmed, which is my own fault. But I was told there wasn't any cancellation fee for the membership, even though it's actually $100 cancellation fee. It was cheaper to just pay for the month to go to some poorly maintained gym.

Negative experience: Signed up with a 6 week deal pay nothing for 6 weeks and then $12 weekly after that, 3rd week in I was double charged, and the next day charged again, all 3 charges where not at the sign up price but we're $12, asked to have it resolved and nothing happened, the following week was again double charged. Beware useless rude staff, go to GoodLife wantirna. Or any other gym frankly.

Negative experience: Facilities are great which includes the swimming pool but watch out for the payment. Always wrong if you asked your account to be on hold during holidays. They either charge extra or double charge. The worst thing is they asked to call the debit company (Debit Success) directly as they can't help. I spent half an hour on the phone and ended up finding out that it was one of the administration errors from the gym.

Negative experience: The customer service is so very bad and rude! A pool trainer actually yelled at my wife as she was trying to get out of the pool! They won’t resolve your problem and keep on transferring you to other staff members! Even a meeting with the manager achieves nothing , it's like talking to a brick wall. Just like money hungry leeches! Its all about money. We've even had a staff member steal money out of our gym bag in the changing room. Again nothing has been done and she is still there. Shame on you Genesis Wantirna. When will you respect your clients, and give us the service we've paid for? Get a manager who can train the staff in customer service. Not these "Self-centered" bunch you have today, including him.(The current Manager)

Fantastic experience: Fantabulous gym with most everything you could ask for, including machines I've never been privi to before. Squash courts & exquisite waveless pool. This place is da bomb y'all. Note: an exclusive upstairs private gym for ladies only, far away from the predatory hawks eyes. Let's move it, stay strong & work hard. It's like lotto with a million times the rate of success. Clear the past & create a new future. ✌

Fantastic experience: Having joined Genesis Health and Fitness Wantirna I am most impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. This was exhibited by the regular members being greeted warmly and assisted with queries in a punctual and cordial manner. The facilities are clean, well ventilated and provisioned with ample natural light. Equipment is first class and with a 25m swimming pool, exercise classes and pleasant change rooms it is a positive environment. I am looking forward to a long association with the Genesis clubs. Keep up the great work!

Negative experience: I’m giving 2 stars because we need some sound deadening in the squash courts, can barely here the person next to you. Please genesis, only cost $50

Fantastic experience: Recently both myself and my wife went in to sign up as members. Staff were friendly and process was smooth from the beginning to the end. We went closer to the closing time but they were more than happy to assist. Great facilities and a lot of equipment, yet well organised. There are a lot of options for group fitness classes and the times are very convenient for 9-5 full time workers like us. Ample parking at the back which is great as well.

Negative experience: The service attitude was very poor, WiFi was not allowed

Fantastic experience: I love working out at Genesis Wantirna. I have been a member for years. The team are fantastic and I love the personalised group training of the Coaching Zone. You form great bonds with others, we are very supportive of each other and the early morning starts mean I can work out before work and feel energised, leaving with a spring in my step for the rest of the day. Well worth trying out.

Negative experience: Very poor management I never go back again My son used to got to Swiming class there but if we had any issues no one was there to respond or every week a new manger was look after the swimming classes

Negative experience: Terrible service!!!! can’t believe the manager at swim school is terrible, 0 customer service she literally shouted on me just because I asked her to consider the late fees they just charged me double the amount am supposed to pay saying it’s late payment fees. Worst service ever I have faced in my life.

Fantastic experience: Always felt welcome from Day 1! As an "older" lady, the vibe here is positive without the intimidation of some other places. Group classes are fun and other ladies always offer assistance when I had no idea what was happening. Instructors are fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Genesis have done a great job in keeping the premises clean at all time. I like the open space and there's enough equipment so I don't need to wait. Staff are friendly also. It's good to be back.

Great range of machines to hit every muscle, super happy with signing up as unlike other gyms I've never had to wait for equipment , perfect! I definitely got value for money on my membership. Great rates. Very Happy.

Fantastic experience: It is fully equipped and spacious Gym that anyone would desire for. Staff is very friendly and they customized the packages as per my need. This place has got a good size swimming pool as well.

Positive experience: I have been a loyal, long - time member of this gym. I enjoy attending many of the classes, including Body Pump, Cycle, Boxabike and Body Balance. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I have even recently brought my daughter along, who is now a new gym member too!

Negative experience: Communication or dealing with the staff is a total nightmare. To suspend my membership at GYM it took me two attempts. First time i shared my details and was told that it will done by senior team member which never happened and I only realized it after my account got charged. Went in next week again and got it done infront of me which took around half hour as I had to wait for the right person.Though we did this on Tuesday evening, it stated its going to be done from Wednesday. Same week I get charged for whole week again even though suspension started from Wednesday reason stated for this is was that admin teams takes 2- 3 business days to process it and it will be corrected from next week, however no acknowledgment of the extra charge since suspension request date or even the 1 week I lost coz the person at front desk didn't knew how to do it. In third week, though even after supplying all the documents for suspension, I get charged again. Don't join the GYM all they know is to charge your account and then will force you to connect with the debit company itself. No proper trained staff, swim school is also an havoc which I believe has a very poor staff retention rate. My son did 4 to 5 lessons with new trainers every time, fortunately we found another swim school for him.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for a few years now. The staff are always welcoming and very helpful. It shows how good the gym is when you get to know a lot of the regulars that have been members for well over 10 years.

Negative experience: The swimming school in this place only know how to take your money! Once you sign the membership, you wont able to cancel it easily. They will ignore your cancellation request，and keep charge your money.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THE SWIMMING SCHOOL IN THERE. This is regarding to the swimming school. They keep charging me money after 30 days I send the cancellation notice. I go there in person and also send email to them to confirm the membership cancellation. They never get back to me and never contact me back. But only trying to charge my money from my bank. And one day there is a debt collector contract me said I am owing a lot of money from them. I have no obligation for that. And i have all the evidence. If the swimming school want find more problems. So go for it. Let’s see in court. DO NOT GO TO THERE TO SWIM, DO NOT SIGN THR MEMBERSHIP FROM THEM.

Fantastic experience: ​Fantastic Gym and very professional staff!. I mainly joined because of the squash courts and I really like the fact that ​I can pop in at any time (24x7) to have a hit. The membership is also very reasonable and I was spending more paying for just squash bookings. Now I've full access to the gym, pool, and squash.

Negative experience: The customer service is soo rude, they won’t resolve your problem and keep on transferring you to other staff members! And after that if another client comes in they’ll talk to them while they leave you hanging! They won’t give you any importance at all unless you’re new to the gym! I’m just waiting for my membership to finish so I can get rid of this gym with pathetic staff!

Fantastic experience: Greate gym it has everything you need to get into shape.

Negative experience: Don't join money hungry fitness centre who don't understand the meaning of cooling-off market when you are in lockdown. According to manager George, the cooling-off period is valid regardless the whole Victoria is in lockdown and we are closed. In short, we will not give you time to review our facility. Just give us your money.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy this gym on a weekly basis, it has everything I need. Everyone who works there is so helpful and friendly. Very welcoming with plenty of parking. The Aqua aerobics is so much fun.

Negative experience: The lack of professionalism from this company is astounding. I have never once shown any interest in this company but relentlessly, out of the blue, I have been spammed with phone calls and text messages marketing for months. Every single time I have asked them to remove me from their marketing database but it hasn't stopped. What a pest of a company!!

Negative experience: Beware setting up a direct debit here. They will not cancel it, even when you are past the minimum contract period, despite phoning writing etc. They wont return calls, they wont identify themselves and you'll be forced to cancel the direct debit at the bank, whereupon they will try to refer you to debt collectors. This is AFTER any minimum term on your contract has expired. It took a letter to the directors home address to stop the harrassment. Nobody at the Wantirna branch takes responsibility (there is no 'manager'), they just ignore you so they can keep up the direct debits.

Fantastic experience: I am so pleased to be able to use the pool at Genesis Wantirna. I wish it were open and available for longer though as many more customers would use it. I have never had any issues with lane availability, the water temperature is fine for lap swimming and the changerooms are close by the pool area and always clean and available.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for over 10 years. Genesis Wantirna has everything I need to stay fit. The gym has a friendly atmosphere. Would be nice to have a sauna.

Fantastic experience: The staff and facilities here are incredible! The staff are always approachable and friendly. 24/7 access is amazing considering I work a rotating 24 hour roster. Having swimming pool access also means getting fit can happen in more than one way! Super happy

Fantastic experience: Top class coaches. Great support in reaching your goals. The coaching zone with the myzone app is probably one of the best tools I've used in my fitness goals.

Fantastic experience: I started coming to Genesis wantirna after moving into the area. It’s a 5 min walk from home which is really convenient. I mainly attend group classes (Body Pump) and shoutout to Georgina who is a great instructor. I also use the lap pool occasionally.

Fantastic experience: What suits me best is the flexibility of being able to attend anytime 24/7. You’ve gotta love that! The gym area is huge, plenty of cardio machines, a group fitness area, large shower/change rooms and an extra women’s gym too. There are a range of classes (beginners & beyond) if you’re into that, and squash courts and a pool too. The gym has long been used by many in our community (a range of ages), so you’ll find they keep updating things as needed. Staff are busy, but friendly and helpful. Lastly, there’s a huge car park, so once you arrive you know you’re going to workout!

Negative experience: Place is requiring some serious maintenance. Also despite contacting Genesis via Phone, Email and over the counter all several times they tried to continually charge me for an account I had suspended due to Covid. They then passed this on to Debt Collectors. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and friendly staffs. Enough equipments, facilities and spaces under covid 19 needs. Love to go Genesis for exercise regularly that it's my healthy habit now. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I love the variety wantirna Genesis offers, from all the classes, coaching zone, workout areas and especially the pool. The staff are amazing, always friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. The entire gym community is welcoming and encouraging.

Negative experience: Worst communication. Unhelpful staff. Misleading/deceptive practices. They continued to deduct money from my account weekly, after I'd informed them of being away for health reasons. I adhered to their cancelation policy, but they kept ripping me off. I spoke with 5 staff about it over 2 months, and send emails, with no reply. Dodgy as! Don't go there. I'm going full Karen on this dump, and I didn't even get to speak to a manager

Fantastic experience: Love the size and variety available, particularly the childcare and the ladies only training area.

Negative experience: After asking them to cancel my membership, it took 3 months to do so. I didn't pay for the three months, so they continued to tell me my bill is overdue and charge me more every week. Then sent it to collections. Stuffed up my perfect credit rating and I have to pay over $409 to a debt collector for a service I did not receive and told them I don't want. It didn't cost them legit ANYTHING and they don't care. As long as they get theirs, eh? this is how they get money, this is their job. It's quite telling that they only address positive feedback on Google.
