Negative experience: I must say there is a noticeable lack of community and politeness at this gym. I mistakenly took weights from a power rack without realizing that a guy was setting up his camera for his exercise. Being short, I couldn’t reach the weights I needed, so I grabbed what I thought was available. I assumed the person who used the weights hadn’t put them back. When he saw me, he yelled at me to put them back. I was honestly confused also as the setup is completely different from the FF gym I regularly go to. I apologised and explained that it was a mistake. He didn’t apologise for his behaviour. To my surprise, I later found out that he is a personal trainer at the gym. On another occasion, I was standing right behind a machine, preparing for my workout, when a guy hurriedly placed his towel on the machine without even bothering to ask me if I was using it. This behavior is just unacceptable.

Positive experience: This FitnessFirst has more gym equipment compared to other places but equally more busy. Compared to other FitnessFirsts, Sauna and steam rooms are a bit smelly and the amenities less clean. Sauna temperature was better tho.

Negative experience: Backpackers stay away from this gym! They'd promise you to be able to sign you up for the membership without any cancellation fee (and without mentioning that you have to give a notice of 28 days, they'll tell you that they can do an exception for you but you need to sign the regular contract cause they can't give you a different one but "they'll write a note on your account so they will know"). I emailed them 4 times on their email address specific for cancellations and I got no answer at all. I also went to the gym in person twice and spoke directly to the gym manager, Tim. The first time he promised he would speak to his manager to process my cancellation and to confirm I won't have to pay any cancellation fee and he would come back to me. Nothing happened, so I went back again. He forgot what he told me, he admitted he hadn't spoken to his manager and didn't do anything about my problem. This time he added the info that I also need to give a 28days notice, that he forgot to mention the other time. Again, he promised he would speak to his manager and process my cancellation. Still nothing has happened and no one answered my emails or contacted me. Worst customer service I've ever seen, do not trust whatever they tell you! Sign up with any other gym, but stay away from them!

Negative experience: SCAMMERS: I requested to cancel my membership almost two months ago, and they keep stalling it. I simply wanted to cancel it due to overseas relocation, but instead I got told to find someone to take over my membership. In the meantime, I got charged for the time I was getting back and forth with their team. Later, I requested an 8 week refund which I paid during that time, but they advised me to serve a 30-day cancelation notice period, which is beyond ridiculous. I've been trying to cancel this for over two months and not a single time did they mention this notice period, neither does their website provide you with that information. I am not even on a contract anymore, so clearly a case for ACCC.

Negative experience: After reviewing the gym and giving it 2 stars back in may (see original review below) I am now editing this and giving it 1 star!!! The club is beyond dirty, with cockroaches going around, no soap in the bathrooms, soap dispenser were on the bathroom floor for like 10 days and now have been fixed to the wall with tape. There are wipes left around the gym floor, broken pieces of equipment, even the occasional chewing- gum stuck to machines. I sent a complaint message on their website 2/3 weeks ago and still waiting for someone to contact me. The team is lovely and I am honestly sorry for them, because it is clear higher management does not care. This club needs real cleaners and to get pest control in. It’s not the team’s fault if customers are leaving their rubbish behind but you would expect someone to do something about this. As I said in my complaint, if I didn’t have a great personal trainer I would have left the gym a while back. Below is my original review, which management responded to. The staff at this gym are lovely and the personal trainers are fantastic, but the cleanliness is severely lacking. It’s beyond dirty, with chewing gum stuck to the equipment and weights left all over the place. It’s about time management start fining people for not cleaning up after themselves. Ridiculous! I’m writing this review in the hope they take some serious action to address these issues.

Positive experience: This club doesn't have full facility but class time works fine for me. Hence, the staff is very friendly. Maybe it's better idea to label those lockers which are not working as it takes me a while to tap and found the working ones. shower rooms cleanliness can be improved.

Negative experience: Went to this gym as it is included in my accommodation at the Hilton. It is the worst gym I've ever been to. They have minimal useful equipment and the equipment they do have is falling apart. It didn't appear to be safe to use. The pool is long and heated - probably the only good thing this gym has. Staff are friendly.

Fantastic experience: Fitness First Park St is hands down the best gym I've ever been to! The facilities are top-notch with all the latest equipment you could want, whether you're into weightlifting, cardio, yoga - you name it. But what really makes this place shine is the incredible staff, especially the Club Manager Phil. That guy is the real MVP! He's so passionate about fitness and goes out of his way to make sure every member has an amazing experience. Phil is an handsome guy and his team are super friendly, knowledgeable, and will bend over backwards to help you crush your goals. The vibe at Fitness First is electric too. You've got this awesome community of motivated people who keep you pumped during your workouts. Whether you prefer to fly solo or feed off the group energy, the atmosphere is second to none. Negative experience: Customer service are an absolute joke. Enquired about getting a cheaper rate dropping from Platinum to Passport as I’ve moved and no Platinum in my area. The First Lady I spoke to told me I could save around $15 a fortnight. When I called back the next day was told to go to my local gym and ask for a form to put the change into effect. While filling out the form I was told I could only be on a more expensive plan and to call Park Street again so they can authorise the cheaper plan I was quoted by them previously over the phone. When I called I was asked what was the ladies name that told me the cheaper plan, as if I write down every person I speak to that is representing Fitness First. And told they shouldn’t have told me that and there is no option for cheaper plans only more expensive ones. Obviously frustrated I asked them to sort something out and expressed disappointment after over 10 years of loyal membership no options for me other than cancelling my membership or going on a higher plan. without my knowledge, go ahead or permission being given they then cancelled my membership. Now my only option is to sign on another 18months at the same rate I was on for Passport instead of Platinum I was on for 10+ years!!! What a absolute joke, extortion, penny squeezing, unethical, and no regard or reward for loyal long term members !!!

Negative experience: Great location, great space. I’ve been to many branches and this is probably the easiest branch to access. Equipment selection is good but my biggest peeve here is that this is the gym with the messiest gym-goers that do not re-rack weights and put equipment back properly for others to use. If you’re looking for that other pair of the dumbbell, kettlebell, plate, or you want to use a bench, look no further than the other far end of the room or the other floor where some lazy bloke or lady dragged them, did two sets, and walked off into the sunset.

Negative experience: The guy with beard, loud and big. Seems like he is the manager of the place. Should work on his customer service. I asked for a locker, he gave me a key card not working. Then I came back asked for another that works nicely, yes I work in hospitality too. No sorry, just say you should try other lockers, its quite insensitive. Yes, I did try many locker. I feel unwelcomed every time he is around.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service from Cameron - I booked a free pass because I had just moved in the are and wanted to see 2-3 gyms around before I decide which one to join - which is what free trials are for anyway but I got told that I can only use the pass if I sign up for fitness first afterwards. Otherwise, I would be charged $34 for the trial because they do not allow you to trial other gyms. How would you know what people do in their free time? What a stupid policy - but that is the reason why gyms do trials - for us to go and see what it is like and know what options we have available in the area. The guy was very rude and even wanted to know my nationality straight away which made me feel like he changed his attitude the minute he found out where I was from. I will be telling everyone about this horrible attitude and not going to even consider joining now.

Negative experience: The worse customer service ever. Classes are alright, but when the customer needs support the team doesn't support you. I was in a weekly plan and signed for a weekly plan, because I didn't want to stay in a long contract. Then I send and email requesting to cancel my weekly plan and they say that they will keep collecting my payment for 30 days even thought if I'm not using the gym anymore, which it's absolute abuse for me as a customer specially because none notified previously about it that I needed to do my cancelation with a 30 notice days. Also, at the moment, my plan is still going and I'm leaving Australia in a week, without the security of you guys are going to really cancel the plan (because it's not a membership), which it's absurd!!!!! I already had hearted about your badly with the customer service. but I never image that it was true. so then, don't make bushtit trying to collect new customers and pretending to be nice with them, when the reality it is that your don't care about them and the only thing that matters for you is collecting their money.

Negative experience: Very disappointing. I used to come here all the time for classes pre-covid. I could walk in unplaned and have a choice of classes going on at the same time. Boxing on the gym floor, HIIT outside the yoga studio, yoga/pilates classes, and a range of other classes in the studio upstairs. Now I walk in and sometimes not a single class in any area! Really gone downhill and not what it used to be.

Negative experience: Poor equipment and service. I cancelled my membership so they tried to offer deals to get me to stay which I declined. But then they kept wanting to charge me after I paid my final bill. After being constantly harassed by email, debt collectors and text, I wrote an email to front desk saying that I had already cancelled by email which was ignored. A while later I then got an email threatening debt collectors (which was already happening on phone and text). Had to write back to gym again saying I had already cancelled, they then asked me to provide the cancellation email as apparently they can’t search themselves, or they don’t keep records. I eventually got through after calling and they found it in 15 seconds. After being a member for many years i would have thought they would at least called me to try and resolve.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Fitness First Park st after being away for a year on work duties. I just had to leave a review because I had such a pleasant welcoming back! The classes are phenomenal, the equipment is top notch and the customer service is such a pleasure! I genuinely love the team here due to their immense respect for fitness goals and the respect they give to members striving to achieve them. Please do yourself a favour and come visit if you want to achieve your goals and join this warm, supportive, community atmosphere. 5/5

Negative experience: Never trust them. 2 and a half months ago I canceled my membership by calling. The person I spoke to on the phone said it was canceled and I didn't need to do anything else. She said it will be canceled after 1 more month of withdrawal from my account. But after 2 and a half months, money is still being withdrawn from my account. They do not respond to my emails. They do not solve my problem.

Negative experience: DON'T TRUST this company, they are absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL and disorganised!!! They promise you free weeks for a new membership but they never give it to you and then after a while when you decide to cancel your membership they keep charging you over a month of your notice, even if they say to you that you have been cancelled. My experience is absolutely disappointing! They definetely deserve less then 1 star.

Negative experience: This ff park st is not worth to join. I called them so many times and nobody pick up the phone. If they heard u want to join membership they have time to call u or text you. But when u need them for help they don't even care .

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend my personal trainer Mike at the gym. He is incredibly kind and always focuses on the training at hand. His dedication to helping me reach my fitness goals has been truly impressive

Negative experience: Definetly not recommended. Impossible to work out unless you come at 5am or late at night. Multiple machines broken on a regular basis, old and damaged benches. People leaving tons of equipment around, messy and dangerous. No safety signs in sight anywhere. One of the worst FF branches I visited.

Negative experience: I was excited to check out this gym after always seeing it on the way home from the bus stop. Unfortunately, I found myself pretty disappointed after my visit. The change rooms were abysmal. It stank and I was shocked by how poor the lockers were. I had to change lockers three times as many were broken, missing doors entirely or just wouldn’t lock. Some still had leftover gear or rubbish in them. It was a sad sight. The gym itself is okay, downstairs looks great which is what got me excited to come in but I did find the workout space limited as PTs fought for the little area there is for their sessions. Upstairs felt a little like a construction site in parts, it was hard to know where I could lie down and do a core workout and some areas looked like it was being repaired. I think I might return as I like the location but I’m hoping the presentation improves.

Negative experience: I tried to get into the gym as I am a member of Fitness First. Unfortunately I am a member on a "lower" kind of subscription (I live outside the city) so the manager didn't let me in. When asking what could I do cause I wanted to workout and it was kinda funny, he just gave me his back and said "upgrade your subscription" while walking away. Sadly rude. I've heard Fitness First vibe was really showy and cocky, which I really agree now.

Negative experience: Terrible, my friend was coerce into the gym with a promise of a free trial for 1 week. Somehow they asked for her bank details which she gave and they have taken money out of it for her "free trial" she went back to cancel her membership with them asking them to refund that money which they say they will and it will come in 1 week which it never did. She came back to ask them again and apparently her membership was still active. She is still waiting for her refund. From her story I do not recommend this gym as they are scamming customers from their free trial.

Negative experience: This F1 branch is very poorly maintained. - Showers are never cleaned. The floor in the shower area is slimy and walls with mold. Never been rubbed for sure. - Lockers are never cleaned. - Employees always stay downstair on their phone while the second level runs out of wipes and gets messy as - People dont put things back to place. And since there is not one checking it just become a mess. - During and after peak times the place is just trash. I've been holding to share this complain but they dont seem to get better but like charging premium prices. I am looking forward to seeing this branch better maintained.

Fantastic experience: Fitness First (FF) has always been a constant in my life, even during Covid lockdowns etc. FF did everything correct by providing free group video training online which helped maintain our fitness & most importantly our mental health. They continue to inspire me with new group classes & training options & remain very understanding as we navigate through post covid health issues & attendances etc. Thank you team! Keep up the great work!

Negative experience: I was sold a year membership on the basis that "They are all over Australia"... what a lie that was. Told the guy I'd be travelling but I can see now he just wanted to sell and didn't actually care I'd be paying for this membership without being able to access a gym! Additionally, I was under the impression my contract was for 1 year and my payments would stop after this ends. That's also incorrect because all direct debits are continuing unless you provide 30 days notice. Absolute Joke this company. Very unhappy customer!

Fantastic experience: The creation of man had led to this very moment. The idea of being "welcomed" is such a necessary one but never a need that I ever thought I'd "want" once I'd stepped through the automatic doors of Fitness First Park St Platinum. Emily Pullen had sufficiently fulfilled that "want". I am appreciative and forever grateful for the constant giving of sufficient care supplied by such a keenly equipped Members Service Representative. The role given to Ms. Pullen has exceeded expectations beyond any doubt above their paygrade. So, to the effervescent and gracious conduct of Emily, I am thankful. Positive experience: Limited machines, there were a few exercises that I couldn't do for my physio program that weren't available or in working condition. Will need to walk to the other 24h fitness firsts to get my whole rehabilitation workout done.

Positive experience: Good location for gym, sufficient equipment and space good ventilation, they have smooth smith machine. A good bunch of regular guys. Also they have Frank Wang personal trainer working from there, suggest him for thorough training, injury prevention, and understanding of weight training.

Negative experience: Very rude staff. Not one or two. As if they are very unhappy there. I was offered a trial at Fitness First Market Street. They booked me a yoga at Park St as they do not have it. When I when to Park Street I was told they have no idea about it, cannot find the booking. As a result, I went to the classroom late. The instructor asked me to leave. Because her class is full. After the class, I found that she was lying. Not all the names on the list are ticked. Luckily it’s only a trial:) Would be a pain if I have a lock-in contract with such kind of service. Hope my review will help more people avoid similar experiences. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: How dare I give any feedback after being told "I Do Not Appreciate You Being Here" by the Reception?

Negative experience: Equipment forever IN REPAIRS Honestly my pics don’t lie … you got to be kidding me ??? Month after month the same equipment are still not repaired. No one cares here … where is the manager ? What is he doing about it ??? Absolutely NOTHING .. excuse after excuse .. for GOD sake just get it fixed !!! UPDATE: it’s now 30th May … it’s been 2 weeks since my last post . One machine fixed 2 more to go. Thank you !! Hopefully the smith machine and leg curl machine gets fixed this week. Not counting on it though

Fantastic experience: Great range of classes - the yoga studio is spacious and airy, and has the option of hot yoga. All fitness and class instructors are very friendly and run excellent classes. Also open 24 hours.

Negative experience: Frankly abysmal experience. The facilities were alright, but I was not just disappointed, but also appalled by the way they treat their customers. My multiple requests for PT weren't taken into complete consideration, and my complaints weren't taken seriously. In fact, I had to complain again on a simple matter of basic consent (a trainer tapped my shoulder without me expecting it, just to make try and sell me PT, not aware that I had already lodged too many requests for PT). When I talked to their manager on the phone, the manager also shouted at me. In the end, we came to an agreement that the consent was a genuine problem, and he promised me a free PT session. He never called me back. Needless to say, I switched gyms.

Negative experience: Platinum price for an average gym setup. Gym needs more regulation. Weights left all over the place and the machines are older than most the members.

Fantastic experience: A great gym for body weight functional fitness. It has various pull bar heights, ropes rings and climbing wall. It took me years to get one muscle up and I decided to hire a PT named Robbie Durrant to help me achieve it. He was so good at breaking down the technique and exercises to help achieve it that I got in 3 sessions. I highly recommend him for your PT needs

Negative experience: Like everyone said, the girl on customer service section is not proffesional and rude. I understand the situation I need towel to cover the sits and benches when I want to use it, I explained to her why I don't need towel cus I'm not gonna use any benches just dumbells, and then she threw question to me in unpleasent way "are you training or not" like 3 times and forced me to rent a towel from them. Why do I need towel and pay for it when I'm not even using it. They don't even give me any respons when I asked to stop my membership during the lockdown but just froze my account, and without any notification they just start charging me again.

Fantastic experience: Edgar is the best PT! Always friendly and fun, but serious about the work you do. He is very knowledgeable not only about different exercises, but with food and diet. Edgar is always willing to help you achieve your goals. You cannot go wrong with him as your Trainer and guide.

Negative experience: Fitness First is back to its finance first tricks, introducing “new health measures” that are nonsensical. Gone are the mats and rollers for stretching, leaving you to lie down on the floor. The floor, of course, is filthy. Generally, I haven’t seen anyone cleaning the area, as they were doing diligently before lockdown, and ff members aren’t bothering either. Complacency has set in. The promise of fifty percent discount until further notice was a lie; they went back to charging full price after only one pay cycle. Let’s see how sleaze and neglect gets them through this crisis.

Negative experience: Bad management, & one of the trainers tired to come into the shower that I was in!! There’s no communication between staff about poor hygiene or people working out e.g not bringing a towel & not sanitising equipment after use. Sooo unsafe & one of the worse clubs !!

Negative experience: I can always get a treadmill but the showers are outdated and this is the second time I've been in this week and there was no hot water so I could barely have a shower. The showers need upgrading like Kings Cross did a couple of years ago.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this gym. 1. The busiest gym in CBD. At peak times you’d have to wait for machines at least 5-10mins. 2. Equipment is limited and dated. 3. Water is occasionally leaking from the ceiling. 4. 24/7 access doesn’t always work. You might come early but the doors won’t open. Time wasted.
