Negative experience: Unfortunately they are not honest and are misleading. When I signed up a share my goals and budget and was informed it would be in my budget. I signed up with the free PT sessions and reach out and did not hear back had to follow up on multiple occasions and still have not had one since October. They do not offer creche which was not told at the time of sign up, this would have made my decision to join very different. I have called up on multiple times to work out something and talk to the kanger just to be handed of to the person who signed me up and gaslighted. I put my account on freeze and they still have taken membership out (I have called up twice and still is not done even after a confirmation email because the first time there were no noted written down) so if you are a mum with young ones, or need a budget friendly Personal trainer this is not your gym.

Negative experience: Brown Plains has to be the most dirty and have the most unfair and untrained staff out of all. I have been a member of Garden City gym, and it was absolutely nice. Brown Plains, just like to ignore the fact that you no longer want to extend your contract and continue to take money from your account. What a low life individuals!!!

Positive experience: The equipment is pretty good The atmosphere is decent The staff are friendly and helpful The only down side is the sauna is only on half Saturday and not at all on Sunday due to staff shortages hopefully this could change !

Negative experience: They play to be the victim. On the 13th of December I have noticed that goodlife Browns Plains was still debiting my account even since June 2024 despite the fact that my contract ended and the last time my wife worked out was June 2024. The reception asked my wife if she was going to renew, and answered "no". Nevertheless, there was zero inititiative from them that we needed to cancel the membership. As the contract is on auto renew as the receptionist mentioned today. If they knew about the auto renew, then WHY THEY NEVER TOLD MY WIFE WHEN THEY ASKED HER IF SHE WANTED TO RENEW? We never received any email or phone calls, just direct debit that we were too busy to notice until now. When I went there they said, they can't guarantee reimbursement even if I never use it for nearly 6 months now. The most appalling is that if I cancel now, they require 30 days notice, what a joke. I am just hoping we get a positive result as the manager will be in Monday. And today, another man came in today that he received a phone call stating if he wanted to renew his contract. But we never got any calls? This gym does not care about their members well being, they just care about getting other people's money. We are expecting a reimbursement and a cancellation straight away not a 30 day notice. No wander you have 3 stars.

Negative experience: I’m putting bad reviews for this goodlife gym in brown plains, I only started there last month I was training on your treadmill today i heard few sound on your treadmill today, it’s too dangerous for me as well, I don’t want to hurt myself on these treadmill, i was walking upstairs today, there was cockroach laying there die as well, if you could please clean your upstairs as well, I’m unfortunately I will cancelling my gym membership at goodlife brown plains

Negative experience: I’ve been to many gyms but this gym is one of the dirtiest and most neglected gym I’ve ever been to. countless dead cockroaches and alive on the walls , under dumbell racks and water drinking station, needs a deep clean but after many months on going there nothing is changed with the way that the cleaners do their jobs, ( need to shut down for one day and get pest control )

Negative experience: Do not bother signing up. You won’t get out. These people are the worst myself and my parter have had to deal with. Want to put your membership on hold? That’ll still cost you money and the max is 4 weeks. Even out of contract you have to pay to cancel your membership, and even if you provide a medical certificate they still won’t let you out. Had a much nicer experience with Anytime Fitness. I’d use them

Negative experience: Don’t go by what they say. They give you wrong information. Any the time of joining the staff said the cancellation fee was $199 and now they say it’s $299. They also miss-lead with many other information

Negative experience: It was one of the worst gyms I have trained at. So unclean. I have just cancelled my membership due to this reason. The toilets don't look like they have had a clean or a deep clean in so long. The gym equipment has dust falling off. As a cleaning supervisor, it is disgusting to see how unhygienic. Which staff have not cared about. Children come and night and run around and staff don't even care. If I could honestly rate this gym it would be a 0 just for how disgusting it is.

Fantastic experience: I've been to this gym for many years ! Covid came and things have changed! I tried different gym's but this one is for myself the best! It's large ....! Well equipped....! Good spirit and energy all around.....! Shower....toilet....well ....always the same problems (you should work on it) Perfect place for me to get me in shape !

Negative experience: Most inconsiderate gym we have come across in our life. I only chose this gym at Brown Plains as my son's friends were going there and he wanted to train with them. Initially the manager pretended to be very friendly until we took the membership and there on it was only about money. Very cold responses on any requests and no consideration on any aspect. Due to the ill health of my son we had to freeze the payment though we had paid for many months without him going to the gym and the notes were also taken. When the freeze date passed they didn't even show the courtesy to check on his health conditions nor notified us on starting the auto debit. When we realised this, I called up to mention the status of his health and to cancel the membership from immediate effect as he would need some more time to recover. By then, we had already paid for more than a month despite him not going to the gym. To which the manager responded in rude manner and asked for a medical certificate which was provided by the specialist. But the manager rejected to cancel the membership saying it was not as per the format and the statement they wanted, which no doctor will provide with such medical information. It was an insult to us as my husband is a doctor by profession and this rejection made us feel that we were lying about our son's health to avoid paying 30 days notice period. So we decided not to waste our time or let ourselves down to their level and paid the notice period to cancel the membership. Hence our conclusion is, this gym is not a place for bettering health or fitness as the only thing matters to them is money and they do not care how you feel or your health conditions are or how their conduct might impacts the mental health of the clients. We would never recommend this gym to any of our family, friends or our community. If any of you with health conditions are planning join this gym for bettering your health, think twice!!

Fantastic experience: I train at both Springwood and Browns Plains Goodlife gyms and find them to be great facilities with friendly staff. I train 5 days a week with a personal trainer, (Christian Wall) and have done for a number of years now. The fact that I am still going each day should in itself tell how great he and Goodlife are. Could not be happier.

Negative experience: Bathrooms aren’t clean, Staff is passive aggressive - who would want to go train at a gym where all the staff gives you death stares and speaks rudely. Not upto standards, don’t know if the franchisee is not upto standards to the company policies aren’t fit for staff. Don’t just let anyone become a staff, do a full check and get a better recruitment process.

Negative experience: "I had a terrible experience at GoodLife Health Club. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I took my brother for a day trial, and they didn't even let us train. On top of that, they had the audacity to ask for a $200 fine because he wasn't a member. Their way of talking was just awful. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone."

Fantastic experience: On holiday from Christchurch, NZ and 1st impressions were felts like im at a Hillsong church lol so electricfying and elevated. I spent 5.5 hours there, worked every muscle known to me lol, great gym, good vibes and great atmosphere.

Thick layer of dust on tiles, dead cockroaches - I don’t think this gym is ever cleaned. With this terrible condition it would’ve been okay if the gym was free. People pay and deserve a well maintained and clean gym.

Negative experience: Today had really bad experience. No free passes paid 20 dollars. Passive aggressive employees want my friend to join gym. I bought one day pass. Later after workout I lost my water bottle, which I couldn’t find. I politely asked that if they help me. The same staff member was very rude and sent me down stairs. I just had walk off without my water bottle. Gym equipment 10/10 People service 1/10
Negative experience: Been going there for a while, consider it a well equipped and large gym, especially with female friendly area downstairs- however, there’s not a day without cockroaches crawling on the floor or getting squashed by weights and stuff.
Negative experience: Gym is big with plenty of room and is well equipped. Only 2 stars as the cleanliness especially toilets is shocking.
Negative experience: 1 star is generous. Reception staff lack basic customer service skills and don't have knowledge of proper policies to communicate this to clients. I asked front of house how much notice I needed to give to end my gym membership. She informed me off two weeks notice. When it came time to put in my notice they then informed me it was 30 days. No accountability was taken by the manager to rectify this when their staff have not been trained properly and give out misleading information. Very un professional.
Positive experience: Gym ok but sauna closes far too early for most people work till 5 .00 pm , and some staff even turn off sauna 6.45 , lol , why so tight everyone I talk to feels the same, if you must limit staffing then install a timer, was 9.00 pm then 8.00 pm now 7.00 please provide the services we are paying for
Negative experience: I sent the below message to Goodlife, later in the day I received a telephone call from a lady (Believe it to be the manager), informing me that she receives daily pictures of the gym to ensure it is clean. I informed her that several of the members had deliberately not picked up rubbish left be others to see if the cleaners cleaned up, such as razors left in the shower area for 5 days. I was informed this can not be correct because she checks. This lady had very poor customer service skills. I would recommend EMF which is located in the same area. Good Morning I have been a member of the Browns Plains gym for about 12 years and I am contacting you for two reasons. 1) The cleanliness of the gym is disgusting. This week I witnessed a gentleman (member) in his 80s cleaning the floor in the changing room because it was so dirty and smelled. As you walk up the stairs you face nothing but neglect, the gym looks a mess. 2) The amount of equipment that is regularly out of order is ridiculous, no wonder so many people have left and gone to EMS, even staff members are embarrassed about the significant decline in the standards. The deadlift machines have a warning sign stating the following "This equipment is not fully assembled, Do not use". If things do not improve at least 8 of us will be cancelling our memberships and moving to EMS which is located in the same area.
Positive experience: Great size gym to work out in. Manager goes over and above to ensure gym operates as it should. Clean and tidy. Great to go there for a workout.

Negative experience: When you want to join a gym as a member, they will send you an email the next day. When you want to pause your membership for four weeks due to being overseas, they don’t even reply to your emails, even though you’ve sent three times. By the way… I’m still waiting their email since 3rd Aug.

Negative experience: Disgusting gym! Old and run down. Got charged $20 each to do a 1 day trial. Absolute rip off!! Will never return. Dumbbells only go up to 55kg. Partner can lift heavier than this! EMF up the hill is so much better. We will stick with them as our regular gym. Never returning to good life
Negative experience: Not very pleased with how they handled my membership payments and all round customer service. My account had insufficient funds and rather then contact me over the phone they automatically charge me an extra $10 each time. I understand my account had insufficient funds but they could have at least given me some notice of the additional charges before they were made. I tried to speak to management to clear it up but they never returned or bothered to contact me back.
Negative experience: If you want to know anything about this gym, head over to the 1 star review section as its all spot on. Equipment and facilities always in bad shape; and lord forbid you need any information from the staff relating to your membership/transferring/cancelling as you'll be in for a 2 month ride spinning in circles, talking to different people every time who will constantly provide you different information, to in the end get nowhere. When my wallet was stolen and had to cancel my card it was a complete nightmare dealing with Goodlife, their debit success people and ended up paying late charges when I was initially told not to worry about it. For what you get, completely overpriced and terrible service. The staff are nice and friendly, but totally incompetent. Go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know what everybody else is talking about. This gym is amazing! It’s my favourite one. I see reviews about the gym being dirty and having an unpleasant odour but it Is great it’s not dirty and has a good smell as well. If you’re looking for a gym than this one is the one your looking for!
Positive experience: Everything is is really good. The only issue is that alot of the machines are too close to each other, should be spaced out a but more.
Negative experience: Unable to keep the Kubofit app up to date, as my partner & I came to train, and were unable to as they were closing at 7pm, but the app says 8pm, when mentioned on my next workout, to reception staff all that was said was "oh did you check the website?" Why would I check the website if I use the app! And what's the point of having an app if you want us to check the website!?! A suggestion would also he to get a kids creche would be a great start as well
Fantastic experience: It's an amazing gym, it's big, there's a big variety of equipment with different weights that can be set accordingly to your needs and the staff are all friendly and always willing to help at anytime.
Fantastic experience: Best club southside of Brisbane. Great staff and very accommodating upon negotiating terms of resigning membership!
Negative experience: The gym looks the part but does not offer a lot for the money you pay . And watch out for all the extras they throw at you . You are not shown how to use the equipment properly the classes are barely none . The ladies area is disappointing .
Fantastic experience: Seriously my favourite club I’ve ever been to!!! This club has such a good vibe and atmosphere. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful and always greet everyone with a smile. Love that it has a female only gym as well as the main gym and a sauna!! Plus the group fitness classes are so fun.

Negative experience: I am asking to staff provide me 24 access card as I join this gym around 2 months ago and still waiting for it when I ask them they every time told me use our KuboFit app for 24 access I try but not go through when I go back to reception she said she can’t do anything. I recommend please visit other gym because to many better options around Browns plains. If you join this gym you gonna waste two things money and time pls think twice before make any decision. I know because I already did that mistake that’s why I wanna aware you.
Positive experience: Good open gym with plenty of machines and free weights the trainers could be more friendly but I do enjoy this gym.
Positive experience: Be very careful what you sign.always take photo or ask for copy. They say different things at sign up and things get changed when you do cancellation. Always cross the any empty columns on your form. Because it turn out absolutely nightmare later. I only upgrade to arena for 12 weeks and later I was told I signed up for 12 months. I made very clear when upgraded for 12 weeks that i dont want to be in any contract. Some info is added later in my form and I was not provided any copy of that after asking many times. Be very careful with them. Can't believe my review got looked at and resolved. Tony made it so much easier to find the best outcome for both of us. Wasn't expecting that though as some staff can be disappointing. Talking to right people takes lots of stress off. Thanks so much Tony. I am happy with the outcome.
Negative experience: I read alot of bad review's before signing up and thought I give this place a chance. Alex and Taylor were the first ppl I delt with, They were kind , energetic, professional and made the signing up process super easy. The place is massive!!! Not Clean. They have a women's only Gym which im so thankful for as it gives you a bit more privacy however it does need more pedestal fans or Portable air con in there as it gets very hot and uncomfortable and can be a health n safety issue been to hot. The place is not clean!!! The machines are sticky and a little gross and outdated but, The machaines work how they are supposed too and access and availability is easy, however some are too close together and you bump into other ppl while adjusting them. Place is outdated it needs a good clean , fresh paint and basically a good hose out. Floors, mats, machine's, bathrooms mirrors, walls need a good scrub out they are sticky and smell!! The front staff are energetic everyday they Greet me and others happily with postives attitudes. It's so refreshing to feel welcomed after a stressful work day, just that simple gesture alone makes me happy to go to the gym. I've been going for over a year now and not once cleaned , there is still the same broken false nail on the floor from over a year ago. Place is very dirty. It's a massive Gym can get very very busy Monday and Tuesdays.

Negative experience: Never Take Goodlife Membership. They Trap people with their tricky plans . I took membersship for only 3 months but they took money out for more than 5 months and they won’t stop untill you dont change your details. And They will take money for 30 days extra after your cancellation. Never Go with Good life.
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere upstairs. Lots of life and music pumping, and a vending machine for convenience. Nice hot room and real hot at times. Been 7months straight for me after sign up. Personally bulked up myself from 77kgs too 84kgs through consistent weekly training. Will miss this gym as I'm relocating to melbourne now.
Fantastic experience: First day back after surgery, didn't realise how much I missed it
Negative experience: Quick and easy to sign up with goodlife, but an absolute nightmare to transfer your membership. I have moved away from my local goodlife and was wishing to get my membership taken over by someone else. I have contacted the gym on several occasions (Some calls not even answered) and been in contact with Bek over email. Its taken 22 days to respond to an email and 3 people who were keen on taking over my membership have pulled out due to the time it has taken to get any response from the gym, and told that it would cost $245 to cancel my membership. Facility is average and the bathrooms are always disgusting the Aircon never works the gym equipment is out of service or dirty. There is a reason this goodlife is rated the worst in the brisbane area. My word of advice is to STAY CLEAR of goodlife as a company. Will not be returning
Negative experience: This gym is going down hill fast. Noticed a lot of people leaving this gym for reasons like Air con never working right. Air con always broken down stairs in females section. Staff are sooooo rude ( actually hung up on us for correcting her error and a simple apologie would have been fine or could have been handled in so many other ways but she chose to hang up…wow) Toilets are always dirty and out of toilet paper. (Read other reviews and Facebook comments where members are constantly pointing this out). Machines are always out of order and they take ages to repair! They actually charged a maintenance fee on top of your membership but yet couldn’t keep the machines in working order so they change the maintenance fee and renamed it to a 10min personal trainer fee that members were not aware they could do each month. So basically they are collecting $10 off every member and not telling new or old members that they are in titled to this. Over the last year without a doubt there has always been at least 2 treadmills that are out of order. (Refer to fb page where members have put pics and posts and videos documenting this). The thing is, they charge you a premium here but you definitely do not get your Monies worth. I could look past most of this for some time but iv had enough of the staff being rude here. Any other business or manager with common sense would not except a staff member to actually hang up on a customer. Like wow!!! This club has a lot of leg work to bring it back up to even a 3 out of 10 level. Elevator has been out of order for over a year now. Lol such a joke, I for got they had a elevator! Seated row was meant to be repaired but after four months of it sitting there out of order they just remove the entire machine. I joined because I wanted to use that machine but it’s gone now but my membership fee still remained the same Amount even no some Machines have been removed or out of order. How does this make sense? You walk new members through the gym and show them what they get and what they can use when they become a member. So they sign up and then two months in. The machines are gone or broken and you still expect that member to pay the same amount in membership fees. PT trainers have left for similar reasons. Sales managers have changed four times in six months. There’s new staff at reception every second week. I imagine the staff are probably nice outside of the Goodlife work environment but how ever they are being treated or poorly trained, it is definitely reflecting towards the members. For an example, if someone misses a payment by one day and you call them demanding payment or it simply goes to debt collectors. Lol very rude and unprofessional. Usually a staff member or a good person with common sense and manners would offers solutions instead of threats. Work with the member not be negative or encourage the member to leave and cancel there membership. Again wow! The club manger at browns plains Goodlife - Shane seems like he is very reasonable and sensible. Shane, you say you will have the staff do more training so it doesn’t happen again. How do you train them to have common sense or train them not to hang up on a member. How does one get pass the interview stage with an attitude like this?

Negative experience: Good facilities but make sure you have good headphones otherwise be prepared to have a headache from the speakers directly above the squat and dumbbell racks blasting extremely loud and obnoxious music 24/7.

Fantastic experience: Other gyms are pale in comparison. Slightly more in weekly payments but the facilities cater for large number of gym goers. Lots of exercise equipments nicely set up within a large area.

Negative experience: The aircon in the ladies section hasn't worked for months now. No fans, it stinks there and has limited eqiupment. Most of the times the fans upstairs aren't on either. The showers and toilets are pretty gross, the staff don't really care. Poorly ran gym.
