Derrimut 24:7 Gym - Rundle Mall

Positive experience: Good gym, can get real rushy at times. New and old machines. Good spot for a quick session maybe before or after work

Negative experience: By far the worst Derrimut gym I have been to in Adelaide. Have been a member with Derrimut for over 3yrs now, this was my first visit to the city s3t up. The place is dirty, weights left where ever anyone wants to dump them, lack of quality equipment and lack of accessories ie: hand grips, ropes and bars. Machine are poorly maintained. If the government wants to know where COVID-19 originated, this would be on the list, felt ill being there. Wont be back.

Fantastic experience: The views are beautiful and the equipments look well maintained and the sauna, is a must try

Negative experience: Over crowded. No body brings towels or re-racks their weights and the staff are on their phones.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and welcoming place. I particularly liked the ladies only space but was disappointed in the lack of variety of equipment to do calisthenics work (i.e., no rings, no bars, no bands, no free wall space, etc) Loved having the sauna to relax in after the session, though!

Negative experience: I've been to many different durrimut gyms in Adelaide and I have to say this one might take the cake for being the worst one ive been to. There isn't enough equipment for the amount of people who go during prime time (2pm-5pm) the water fountain stations SUCK so bad there's barely a stream coming out the taps, and you'd have to wait like 10 minutes for a 1.5 litre bottle to be filled it's that bad. Also how does a gym NOT HAVE A REGULAR LAT PULLDOWN??? there's like 4 different variants and none of them are ones you'd see in a good durrimut gym. OR ANY OTHER GYM. I did multiple laps of the gym looking for one and there just wasn't a single one. I wouldn't recommend going to this gym even if it was a one time thing

Negative experience: Out of stock of cleaning products for months now. Trying to do the right thing and clean down machines after use, makes it hard when there’s no supplies

Positive experience: Great gym with awesome views of the city, but lacking 22.5kg weights. Please get some new ones! And fix the broken equipment please

Negative experience: Getting really sick of machines in the women's gym being out of order. It's getting ridiculous.

Negative experience: Windsor Gardens and Rundle Mall gyms are too crowded and equipments are too close to each others. I am stuck with 14months now and wasted money.

Negative experience: Training room/group classses area is more of love making room. It becomes uncomfortable for others if there is a couple sitting in a corner. Guys get a room please

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to workout and network with other motivated individuals making it an exquisite experience.

Negative experience: Wayy too crowded with teens. Absolut chaos with no gym manners. People would hawking up on equipments in groups and just chit chat away instead of using equipment. No such thing as putting back equipments let alone cleaning

Fantastic experience: The staff are always very friendly, helpful and serve me with a smile every time I've walked into the Gym, even if I wasn't able to exercise on that day. They are also very informative of any questions I've had!

Negative experience: I've had enough of this!!! Broken machines that never get fixed. The place is becoming more and more trashed every visit. If you're going to sell memberships cheap, please take measures to keep up with the demand.

Negative experience: Absolutely tragic maintenance of machines. Some machines/cables have been broken for months, not sure why I’m paying for a full membership and receiving half the service.

Negative experience: Friendly staff but it is so freaking busy at 4-7pm, i barely can use any of the machines as someone is always using it, theres no surveillance for capacity of the gym, and barely anyone brings their own towel. Lots of broken equipment, things all over the floor.

Negative experience: Most of the equipment has been broken and hasn't been fixed for over three months. It's not fair to charge customers without providing good service. For such a busy gym, there should be better maintenance and services.

Negative experience: The staff members are doing an excellent job, and I appreciate their hard work. However, I am concerned about the broken machines. Could you please provide an update on when the machines will be fixed? It's important to me that the equipment is fully operational, as this is a key part of the service that I am paying for. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Negative experience: Friendly and very helpful staff. Lots of the machines are broken. Poor selection of machines, and typically worse versions of machines than other Derrimuts (e.g., fewer weight options on machines and they have a lot strange ‘bio-arc’ machines instead of normal ones). Poorly maintained (e.g., tearing on machines) machines. Bad selection of attachments for cable machines. Bathroom has very strong chlorine smell, I assume from the sauna.

Negative experience: Worst Derrimut in Adelaide. Let me start with the good. The front desk and cleaning staff are great and friendly. And it is cheap and 24/7. However, several machines have been broken for months without any being fixed. Not to mention they don’t have some matching dumbbells (only one 22.5kg). It’s always been busy from 5-7pm but lately the lack of fixing machines and increasing members have made this gym intolerable.

Positive experience: One of the best equipped gyms I've visited since being in Adelaide. It's got everything you need for a good workout. However the gym is let down massively by its small changing rooms. The gym was packed when I visited, and whilst I had no problem using the lockers in the actual gym area during my workout, the fact that there are no lockers in the changing rooms for you to put your stuff whilst having a shower isn't ideal!

Negative experience: The gym is as usual. Tge machines have not been workikg since 3-5 months! Out of 6 or 7 treadmills 3 is not working and many more

Negative experience: They've never fixed the broken machines. In the ladies' gym, three treadmills have been broken for a long time; only one works. I think they never check stock availability; there is often no toilet paper, paper towels, soap and no disinfectant. I was in the toilet, as I was bursting, and I found no toilet paper. I asked the clerk, and he told me to use my own towel to clean the equipment. People use their towels to wipe their sweat. Temperature is too high even during the winter season. I already spoke to the team about this, but nothing has changed. The management team is really bad, and I feel sorry for the front desk team and cleaners. I heard they escalate issues to the manager every day, but nothing has changed. Some cleaners have even quit due to a lack of supplies. I work at the city, so I have no choice; otherwise, I wouldn't use it.

Positive experience: The vibe is always good. But the 22.5k dumbbells are missing for so long. I need it so bad

Negative experience: It has a decent amount of equipment, is open 24/7 and it's cheap, but thats it. For how busy it is all the time you would actually assume it would have more or better equipment. Smaller branches in various suburbs are more preferable, though they still get quite busy.

Fantastic experience: The location is very convenient, the atmosphere is very good, the staff is very warm and patient, there is a Chinese employee named kexin, she can speak Chinese, she always greet me warmly when she works here, she will solve problems in a timely manner.

Negative experience: I’ve been collecting data from my visits over the last two months, though which period, I’ve attended on average 5.7 times per week (but have been a member since they opened, nearly three years ago) between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. The busiest times are 2:00pm - 5:00pm, at which time there is, on average, 1.7x more people than machines/benches/cables. Given the demographic characteristics of the clientele at this time (16-19 year-old young men, mostly) - who are incredibly arrogant, inconsiderate, and selfish - you will be lucky if you can even use the lockers or walk through the walkways, because they put their bags all over the ground, blocking paths, doors, lockers, and fire exits, and congregate in walkways in groups of up to 8, sitting on machines they aren’t using, despite using two or three for occasionally up to 40 minutes. On average, 27% of the toilets in the men’s are out of order at any given time. There is a disabled bathroom, but on the rare occasion it isn’t occupied by groups of 2-5 young men (what are they in there together for?) - which is around 17% of the time - you will find that it has no soap, no toilet paper (and no dispenser), and no paper towel (and no dispenser), as has been the case for the last five weeks. 22.9% (3.9) of the cardio machines, 8.5% (4.1) of pin-loaded/plate machines, and 16.8% (2.18) of cable machines have been out of order over this period. During this period, less than 5% of clients have a towel, of whom I was among only 2 people I saw use it - in two months - everyone else just carries it around. 6.3% of people wipe their machine/bench down after using it and 7.1% re-rack their weights. The staff, when training, also do note wipe their machines down or rerack their weights. Likewise, neither do the PTs - both when training themselves and their clients. I have been training for over a decade now, and have been a long-term member of 12 gyms (anytime fitnesses, university gyms, goodlifes, derrimuts) - at not one single other gym have I got a fungal infections. But here, every couple of months I get one. I won't be renewing my membership at the end of this year.

Negative experience: Worst Derrimut in Adelaide Weights all over the floor, I’ve tripped three times now. Smith machine stinks of piss and it is so god damn hot in this gym. Whole place reeks!! I’ve been to every other derrimut in Adelaide and none of them are this gross

Positive experience: It's been more then a month still equipment is out of order. Crazy...

Positive experience: Lots of equipment, sadly alot of the attachments are broken and some of the machines. Things do not get fixed or replaced for a long time (1-2 months). They also play music way to loudly, like at the point where it gets difficult speaking to other people some places in the gym.

Fantastic experience: Words can't do justice to how good this gym is, forget anytime, goodlife, this gym particularly this branch is perfect. The variety in equipment is superb, extremely well kept and clean all around including the bathroom and sauna to allow for a sanitary experience. Friendly staff, i tend to go at 2am so i tend to see the same staff but on occassions outside of these times, all staff have been very friendly and easy going and all do their job well and take free weights and plates back to their locations. Can get a bit busy at times but that's just testiment to how good of a gym this is. Beginner friendly and can suit you however far you take your fitness journey, been going everyday for the past 5 months and have never looked back, this gym makes it the perfect choice too for an incredibly reasonable price too! Keep it up Derrimut!

Positive experience: the gym itself is really solid with a good variety of clean, high quality equipment. i came for a one time casual visit with my friend and the lady at the front desk was quite unpleasant and rude towards me for some reason, not sure what that was all about... aside from that, a solid gym

Negative experience: Music at the gym is way too loud - like a rave. Forget bringing your own noise cancelling headphones, they're not gonna help. Come here to lose your hearing by the time you get to 35.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional service as a casual visitor to the gym! Kexin is a standout staff member, making my visit one I would make again with her professionalism and friendliness. The gym is kept in order as she makes an effort to put weights back where they belong.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy going to this gym and the staff member Ethan is what made this 5 star. He keeps the music to a normal level unlike some of the staff on the weekend. He always says goodmorning and is really great to talk to. Absolute legend. Love this gym because it has a sauna and a women's only section which helps with the gym anxiety.

Fantastic experience: Came in during the night for my workout between the time of (11pm-1am) on a Friday The receptionist bloke at the front so very friendly. Saying hi to not only me but everyone that walked in as well as saying bye and telling everyone to have a good night and to look after themselves. Ended up speaking to him about the gym and everything he does and I’m fairly amazed by what he actually does to support the gym 10/10 my new gym to go to all because of how welcoming he was

Negative experience: Person working on New years day between 4-6 really wasn’t helpful at all on his phone the whole time and rarely goes inside to clean unlike the other workers and he lost around 7-10 potential customers who waited in the lobby area for around 15 mins because he went into the staff room phone first for around 30-35 mins leaving the desk unattended.

Positive experience: Soo clean and a good environment for practice.

Negative experience: Simple details that you should have improved or purposely not wanting to improve. Most cabinet lockers are not working, you need to bring your own lock. You put it there, you risk it, your responsibility. Despite there are cctv on site, many casuals visitors coming to this gym. No wifi, charging point, no basic toiletries, (simple body soap or shampoo). The machines here serve the general masses. You should provide yoga mattresses or extra cushion to support various exercise positions. Each individuals body are different, not fit the machine. Some people with different body proportions wouldn’t fit with some machine, for example abdominal crunch which highly risk your back and it’s extremely dangerous if you don’t know how to or getting extra support to adjust the machine with your body. Lack of various handle straps for machines, you may need to look around for 5 10 minutes to find the straps and extra wait if someone using it. This gym pushing on membership sale only in various seasons. Take December and summer sale that cost u below $300, which is reasonable. Any season will cost u more than 350, which is not worthy. Overall, there so much things to improve especially looking at how’s the crowd using this gym daily. It’s not meeting expectation for cbd class.

Negative experience: Be cautious don’t lose ur pass, they will definitely charge you unreasonable 15 dollar for a new one and you actually paying hundreds for the year membership.

Positive experience: Lovely gym! Staff are kind and informative, and when any issues arise, they are here to help. Toilets and facilities and cleaned regularly, very hygienic. I am a daily user of this gym and I come in during the weekdays (4pm - 6pm). The gym usually hits its peak at around 5pm, where sometimes I have to wait to use dumbbells for my sets, which I am happy to wait. But wait times can be up to 20 minutes, therefore being annoying as I have to skip workouts due to the excess dumbbells which are hogged over. I would recommend having a few more lighter dumbbells from 5kg to 15kg added to the shelf, that way the wait time won’t be longer, and everyone can do their workouts happily! Additionally, the volume of the music which is blasted from the speakers are like ridiculously crazy! I like to listen to music when I work out, however the music coming from the speakers overcome the music coming out of my AirPods! To be able to listen to music, I have to use my noise cancelling headphones which I sometimes forget! I would recommend adjusting the volume of the speaker so that it’s not that loud! But other than that, everything else is pretty much 5 stars from me! Great gym for the price paid, overall.

Fantastic experience: Came in today and was greeted by Justine, who was working the desk. I had just recently lost my wallet and I walked inside obliged to get a new membership tag. She obliges as I have been a member for quite some time and honestly made my day as it took some stress off my back. Definitely feels like a sense of community at this gym. I am very grateful to the accomodating staff

Positive experience: The gym equipment is fine (no 5kg weights for deadliftss) and the overall facilities are decent as well. However, the 4 stars is for the extremely loud edm music that is always playing, to the point where I can't hear my own music unless I use noise cancelling headphones. It's a bit ridiculous, honestly feels more like a club sometimes with how loud it is. If the staff could adjust the volume, it would be 5 stars from me. Edit: I appreciate the response addressing my concerns, however the volume issue has not gotten better - if anything, it has gotten much worse. I'm sitting in the gym right now and can still hear the gym's speakers clearly with my noise cancellation headphones on and volume on 50%. Not sure how many people need to complain for this issue to get fixed.

Negative experience: Worst derrimut branch ever, please train your staff the basic customer service not only their muscle!! The staff has no idea about how to talk to people, walked straight out without renewing my membership!!
