Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic gym, with plenty of equipment and space for a comfortable and efficient workout. I rate it as the best Goodlife gym in Brisbane. The only concern I have is the lack of enforcement of tailgating after hours. Often, several people enter under the one card. Also non-members wait outside the door for people to exit and enter the gym without authorisation. There is no after hours number to report this behaviour, and apart from challenging the person entering, members don't have the authority to act as bouncers. One of the problems with non-members is a lack of respect for the gym conventions, such as putting equipment back and cleaning it after use. Another problem is the potential for criminal behaviour, especially in that people have their valuables with them. Apart from that one issue, I thoroughly recommend this gym to any prospective gym-goer.

Negative experience: Every few days another machine breaks. 0 maintenance with this gym. Old machines, steam room is always bust. Seems it’s fine for GL to take our money every week but not use it to maintain the thing we’re paying for? Bit of a pisstake

Negative experience: I am client of this gym since the old Fitness First so I have reason to complain, the gym have around 10 machines broken and probably gonna take more than a month to be fixed, sauna (male) is often broken instead of working, machines with poor maintenance (rusty everywhere) never seen a oil before, plus no toilet paper and no wipes. Complaints at the reception do not work. I'm sad to do this review but is the truth

Negative experience: Sauna never works, always broken,it really looks like they turn it off on purpose. Same for gym equipments, there's always one broken and it takes many months to fix. "Out of work" signs everywhere, had to cancel membership.

Negative experience: The equipment is old and broken and the receptionists don't even say hi to you most of the time. The sauna doesn't work properly and is always very dirty. you guys have to do something to improve this. I took the complaint to the reception many times. But they didn't pay much attention. They don't care about the complaints because there are many, there are many broken and dirty things that need to be fixed and the service at Good Life Lutwyche it's terrible.

Positive experience: One of the biggest GoodLife gyms in the northern suburbs. Has a.heated pool so the gym is warm all the time but always get the equipment I need and I go at 5pm ( busy time)

Negative experience: Sono un membro platinum plus della palestra good life da 18 mesi e Lo ero anche in passato (significa che posso allenarmi in ogni good life, non solo a Lutwyche) ed ho recentemente rinnovato l’iscrizione per altri 18 mesi. Principalmente seguo le classi di Pilates reformer ed in questi mesi ho adorato le classi, gli insegnanti meravigliosi, competenti, disponibili e gentili come Kate, Brandon, Emma, Breanna… Sfortunatamente oggi ho avuto un’esperienza TERRIBILE che spero nessuna donna di questa palestra possa provare. l'insegnate Jason mi ha messo le mani addosso con rabbia e violenza spingendomi: Ero convinta che la mia classe iniziasse alle 10:30 ed erano le 10:20 quindi ho aperto la porta della sala di reformer completamente inconsapevole. L’insegnante Jason mi ha urlato di non entrare ed ha sbattuto la porta mentre gli dicevo "mi scusi credevo fosse alle 10:30". Ho riaperto silenziosamente la porta intenzionata a marcare il mio nome dalla lista (come precedentemente, in caso di ritardo, gli insegnanti fanno fare) ma lui mi ha bloccato l'entrata permettendosi di mettere le sue mani sulle mie spalle e pancia e spingendomi con forza, violenza e rabbia ; con occhi feroci e sgradevoli! mi ha causato un attacco di panico e pianto. Un "uomo" di grande statura, di mezza età , che dovrebbe essere responsabile in quanto insegnante e adulto… io minuta, giovane, di statura e costituzione sono meno della sua metà e sono Donna. ASSURDO. non ci dovrebbero essere insegnanti cosi! sono pericolosi.

Negative experience: I had a very poor experience with this gym and the reception and management staff. I won a 6 month free membership voucher for this gym. I went into the gym 3 times and the first 2 times was told they couldn’t sign me up as “the manager was in a meeting” so I would need to return. The 3rd time I returned they took the voucher off me and advised they would sign me up and be in touch. This never happened and haven’t heard from the facility since.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a good range of equipment and a swimming pool! No idea why people complain about equipment here. I rarely see broken equipment, and while not a brand new gym, it's still decent quality. It is a gym after all, not a health spa. Some equipment has surface rust from Fitness First days when the pool was open to the gym floor and the chlorine attacked the metal over time, but pool is enclosed now so this is no longer an issue. Not the largest gym, but has plenty of lifting cages and space for functional exercise so still a great gym, and showers are always clean, unlike Chermside! If you want a larger gyn or a nice ambience, try Chermside or Nundah, respectively. Plenty to choose from with Good Life.

Negative experience: The equipment is old, very worn and regularly broken. There is almost always at least one machine out of order. The power racks are antiquated and none of the barbells are particularly nice. As far as I can tell there are only two 20kg barbells in the entire gym. I was direct debited several $7.99 fees without any notice. When I queried this, I was told it was an account fee and it is charged to everyone. This fee is not clearly advertised anywhere and I was not notified of it verbally when I originally signed up. They hide this fee in the terms and conditions and hope people don't notice. Goodlife's fees and contracts are also high and long but that is an issue with the franchise in general, not just this location.

Positive experience: Good size gym and range of equipment. Cardio machines are good quality however some of the equipment seems to quite old in certain areas (racks and cable machines).

Fantastic experience: My partner and I are members of goodlife lutwyche and have enjoyed our time attending this club. The reception are helpful and the amenities are great. Some machines are a little outdated but they are usually available when we train so we are happy. I attend the reform pilates and enjoy the classes very much, great instructors - especially Kate.

Positive experience: Nice gym with a pool. Pool area needs cleaning. The tiles around the pool are slimy and the edges of the pool have green moss. Time to get the bleach out and give it a clean... And then keep cleaning it!

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Plenty of equipment and machines, I’ve been at all times of day and always had access to everything I’d want. The gym floor and the facilities are always clean and tidy. Staff are all really friendly and approachable. Jesse is fab and would 10/10 recommend him as a PT! The swimming pool and steam room are a great bonus, always nice and warm and never too busy. I initially signed up at Fortitude Valley but found myself choosing the longer commute every time as Lutwyche is so much nicer and a lot cleaner!

Negative experience: Terrible service. When signing the contract, employees lie straight to your face. Nobody takes responsibility for the lies. They pressure you to sign the contract quickly without allowing you to read it fully. There are constant additional fees. When they had an issue on their end and charged me double for several months, it took a month and 5 employees to resolve the problem. As an apology, they promised me several weeks for free but didn't keep their promise. Besides fake smiles, this gym offers nothing.

Negative experience: this gym was an absolute nightmare of a fever dream. the equipment is so old and it can be so crowded by school kids and gross men with a stench of BO. they literally harass you to sign a contract and then never let you escape. avoid at all costs.

Positive experience: Its a good sized gym with pretty fair pricing. Its usually pretty busy during peak hours, although I usually always manage to find a piece of equipment free for the relevant training day. Only downside is, given it is an acquired gym from Fitness First, some of the pieces of equipment are pretty dated and breaks fairly often and they take a while to get fixed. Overall, good gym with friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been a gym person but joined Goodlife Lutwyche two months ago as we moved into an apartment in the area. I’ve been doing the Reformer Pilates classes and I’ve never done anything like this in my life before. I also enjoy swimming in the pool. I’m really loving this experience. The instructors are exceptional and people in the classes are so friendly and down to earth. I would recommend this gym to others that are seasoned campaigners or beginners like myself. It is well worth it.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined Goodlife and it is all that is good! Jesse is the most amazing PT and is helping me heal my back to rid constant pain. Life changing!
Negative experience: Dirty. Doesn't feel like there is any routine cleaning of equipment. The treadmills glisten in the light with weeks worth of previous users sweat. The antibacterial wipes are rarely refilled to clean the equipment down yourself. Other notable features: Yuck smelly toilets. Rusty equipment. Pros: The Group classes and group trainers
Negative experience: I wish they had an option for 0 as that would be my rating for the accounts and membership management. I wished to cancel my membership back in September and only had it cancelled in February by paying additional fees. I asked for some consideration as I am part of the army and was getting relocated/posted to a new city. This was the first time in my career where they didn’t support defence members and financially gained over our circumstances of having to move. In addition, carpark unsafe and prone to accidents and dated equipment. Reception staff always friendly.
Negative experience: Pros: • Trainers are lovely; • Spacious gym with pool facility; Cons: • Superceded old equipment; • Aircondition that always fails and is never cold; • Takes many months before equipment is fixed and then breaks again quickly; • Dirty, dusty gym and the toilets are pretty filthy even after a toilet upgrade; • Other than RPM with Lene & Kasey Anu, the rest of the classes and gym instructors are average. There is also not many classes scheduled. • Angela the manager is rude and does not respond to queries; So there you have it! I’ve been a Fitness First member for 15 years before they transitioned to GoodLife. If you still want to join I’d head to Nundah.

Negative experience: The worst Goodlife I’ve ever been to. I have trained here once and I will never return. The equipment needs to be replaced. I.e smith machine is too rusty and is actually quite dangerous to use when pushing up. Cmon guys do better
Negative experience: Good location, but there are some downsides. The equipment and weights are too old, and the steam rooms sometimes get dirty. I had to buy a bottle of water for $4.10 because there was no water available. If the equipment is broken it takes a very long time to be fixed.
Negative experience: I had a highly unpleasant encounter with a manager, likely named Angela, at the gym. Despite expressing my concerns via email, I received no response. The overall sentiment among members seems to be frustration with the recent change in management.

Positive experience: Good gym and has plenty of features including heated pool( only available during staff hours) Gym membership for month to month is expensive (31 dollars per week for platinum) among all the major gyms like ( snap fitness, jet, etc) having a pool justifies this as entry to a pool will cost you 5 dollars in any council pools.

Negative experience: Machines are super old and unorganised. To do leg or chest routine you need to go all over the gym looking for machines, abds machine two of them and one of each in a different corner of the gym, most of them doesn't have the attachment you need or out service.. When you get membership transferred by someone else, they expect you to know where is everything and how to use everything because the induction it's only for the person who signed up first (unsafe and risky). In the welcome email, they specify one-one meeting (I needed to ask twice for this and I'm getting my “catch up“ a week later after membership transfer). Looking forward to finish this contract quick, unfortunately.

Positive experience: Excellent range of equipment and clean. The aircon situation is COOKED however - often as hot and humid inside as outside.
Positive experience: I am a Fitness Passport (FP) holder and visit many gym all over QLD. Good Life (GL) is well equipped and fairly clean. At the time of my visit, it is one of the very few gyms where I witnessed members actually put the weights back correctly after they used them. Overall not bad. It is also a bit inconvenience that Good Life Lutwyche is the one Good life Gym requires Fitness Passport Holders to leave their cards at the counter. When I asked for the reason, the person at the counter said, "It for safety reasons. In case there is a fire, we can ID who is missing(?)". Totally didn't make sense. I didn't want to make his job difficult, I complied. Fitness Passport members use a different machine, we still have to check-in with our cards just like all GL members. GL, would have my record in the FP scanner. I don't see the different. Can Lutwyche management explain why your FP policy is different?
Negative experience: Won't allow e-scooters to be stored inside (other goodlife gyms allow this). Bike storage is unmonitored and outside of camera view due to large column.
Negative experience: Called with account enquiry. Spoke to a bloke named Harry who laughed at me and told me to learn to read contracts. When I spoke with staff they mentioned he was new and still in training. I think there is a fairly large difference between being new to a job and what he did.

Negative experience: Been a member here since it was fitness first and have witnessed the steady decline into Brisbane’s worst gym. Lock in contracts are a thing of the past but how else would this gym keep the little members they have left. Old broken equipment, unhelpful bitter staff and overall unpleasant experience. If you’re considering this gym please look elsewhere, say the 6 other gyms in a 500m radius.
Negative experience: Lack maintenance by goodlife Stinky shower
Negative experience: Do not be tempted to sign up for a trial with a cooling off period. They will continue to charge you, act like you never called to cancel, or even claim that you must have called the wrong gym location! As far as the gym itself...run down, rusty and broken. Needs a complete renovation. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Positive experience: The audio is always out of sync with the TV and it’s quite vexing.
Negative experience: This gym is not what you want to do while working out, instead what you can do. As it is very busy and machines are constantly broken. For the price you are paying here you should be getting a lot more. There are many better gyms that are close by like Jetts, F45 and snap fitness just down the road
Negative experience: When you're going through financial hardship, and yet their "freeze" option will still charge you $5/week. And then they will charge you an automatic extra $10 for a day late of payment. All other gyms freeze your membership for free. I've been looking at other gym options as I write this review.
Negative experience: Sorry i have to give 1 star they are very happy to harrass you to sign up to a membership calling and following up maybe not harrass but you know, then they promise they will send me an invoice and i said it needs to have bsb and account number only 10 times to the staff and of course it doesn't have that so ndis can't pay the invoice without bsb and account number, they promise me my personal trainer will call me the next day to arrange an appointment but no one has contacted me for an entire week, i mainly signed up for pool use as well as personal trainer but the pool only has 3 lanes often used by some elite swimmers and im way too slow so i dont want to get in their way and the shallow side is so shallow that my knees bang on the concrete when im trying to swim so i cant use this pool anyway. I got nothing out of signing up absolutely nothing. Further to this im calling them and there is absolutely no one answering the phone so i now have to walk in to cancel my membership and mind you, you only have 1 week to cancel after signing up or you are locked in to contract. All they want is your money they dont care about your personal trainer contacting you or meeting any of your needs they advertise themself well and theyre all available and kind to you until you sign up they just want your money.

Negative experience: We joined for aqua aerobics - the teachers were great But the water temperature is low for hydrotherapy in comparison to other indoor swim centres offering the same. One week the temperature also got too cold and a number of people had to complain. The steam room also wasn't working and noone bothered to even put a sign or let people that were coming in to the gym, know that that facility wasn't working. Staff that greets you at the reception can do with a bit more friendliness - because when I told them the steam room wasn't working - they said they were aware and cut it me off very abruptly without any apology or proper conversation. I also wasn't allowed to wait with my 10 yr old daughter on a regular basis in the waiting area while I waited for my mum to finish. Joining a non commercial gym is way better - there is a good healthy relationship with the coaches and the owners and everyone else that understands your needs. Why waste $90 membership fee when you wont even get full service and equipments not working and a non friendly staff lasted only 2 weeks there I wouldve given it a 1 star, but the extra star is for the teachers that were good - but the vibe of the management and the staff also extremely important
Negative experience: Equipment is broken more times than it is working. One thing gets fixed and another is broken almost instantly. There has been a used gym towel in the same spot for the last 4 weeks which hasn’t been picked up or spotted by staff members or cleaners. Not sure how the staff always get complimented in the reviews about being so polite and helpful. The club manager is so eager to listen to customer feedback but never actions it or responds. The gym has so much potential with its size and facilities but needs to be managed by someone who wants more out of it other then getting more memberships.

Negative experience: I’ve lost my passion to gym due to Goodlife Lutwyche and haven’t been for months. I have just started going again seeing as I am locked into a 12 month contract and two times in a row people have been gyming without towels. Reception should be pulling this up as people walk in. Then they walked away from every machine they used without wiping it because the gym had none.
Fantastic experience: Unsure why the rating for this gym is so low ... I've been to MANY goodlife gyms, and this one is now in my top favourites. It's a large gym, there's lots of area to be able to stretch + do floor work, decent amount of equipment, plenty of squat racks which I never seem to find at gyms and overall just a good gym. The receptionist Angelina was super lovely and informative as well, I love when the staff are genuinely nice people.
Positive experience: I'm not sure why this club has such a poor rating but comparative to other Goodlife clubs, this one is a good one. Cycle room is lovely and bikes are new, well maintained and ergonomically designed. Of course, there's room for improvement but generally, it's a good club. If you think this club is bad, I would highly suggest to train at Elizabeth street one !!!! You'll see for yourself
Fantastic experience: Good gym very fun to workout at especially with friends and staff are really friendly Felt a big improvement from the start of gym to currently When people don't believe in the 6 month grind you will regret it but in reality it's worth it and I've only went for 2 months! Look at the difference TIME TO CHANGE KING Update 2 months later, and I see a huge difference changed me alot and I'm proud to see it. All you really need to do is be motivated! Go with a friend it makes it much easier! BIG UPDATE 4 months in and I look like this now (shirt off) it's a big difference and only 1 hour a day for 3 days can get the same result if you put the effort in king so let's do it!!
Negative experience: I am sorry to say I am so angry with the service,I use my membership mostly for swimming and the swimming pool was not ready to use when I started my membership and I lost more than a month and then swimming pool was ready and after while water was cold and I couldn’t swim for more than three weeks and then they fixed it again and I could swim again and then today again the swimming pool was cold and I couldn’t swim,I complained and they just said sorry we are working on it. I am a customer that pay for my membership and all the time money come out from my account but I am really angry with the service that I deserve and I didn’t get it here,waste of time and money.
Negative experience: No rating star at all Welcome to offensive rudestaffclub lutwyche. i had never such a rude staffs in my life. there were two young girls one with glasses and one with blond in reception(Sunday morning 26th Mar 2023). somehow in system membership was not upgraded to platinum even after paying for platinum for a while, but they said they could not let in the class and should call the goodlife club where u r from as angry face. the class already started. make it short the other goodlife club made a mistake(did not upgrade membership to platinum even i've been paying for platinum) it was their mistake but lutwyche receptions did not want to help find out what was problem at all. they were so so rude and offensive and treated people(customer) ???t
Negative experience: I went to lutwyche for Zuma class( 26th of March 10am) .there are2 ladies in reception said I 'm not allowed to access class coz I'm a blue member so I said I was joining with blue but I changed my membership to platinum so I can access ..they keep saying iam definitely blue member for sure so I said then you should check to fortitude club where i joined..then one lady said (her name is kaiya?) No you have to call them !! We don't call!! with angry attitude I was so upset at this point! So I told the girl if I am a wrong I will apologize to you but if not you should apologize to me ..then I rang to valley club and verified iam a platinum then I asked apologize to kaiya she rolled her eyes and said why should do that? I didn't get name of the other lady but she say nothing and didn't help at all!! I know it's not their fault .the system hasn't updated by Fortitude Valley BUT it such a horrible customer service as receptionist one simple solution just call and check or explain to me as nicely then I willing to call !!they should NOT working reception if don't want customer service!! They ruined all my morning !! It such a shame Hope you guys take this problem seriously and train more staff customer service
Negative experience: I've been a member at Goodlife for a long time and have tried to give you the benefit of the doubt but the time has come. Lutwyche gym is filthy. Every time I wipe down my equipment brown rust wipes off. This used to be blamed on the pool, however since the pool upgrade happened there has been no attempt to clean the equipment at all. It's disgusting. Staffed hours have significantly reduced meaning my access to the pool reduces (and for people like me working full time only gives me 45 mins before or after work to train). I am due to give birth shortly and tried to cancel my membership today as the creche has been removed (with three months notice). I was told because I didn't sign up here I can't cancel here. Disappointing but I accepted it. Then I called the centre I signed up at only to be told that I can only cancel 30 days in advance so I would need to call back in May to cancel then. Absolutely unacceptable! Your fitness instructors are amazing. They lead with enthusiasm and skill and are the only saving grace in this gym.

Negative experience: Terrible gym, treadmills are always low battery, equipment is old, overly hot worst AC system, pool was out of service for months. Then the women’s change room has a curtain that doesn’t even fully cover the room and have seen multiple bugs when using the bathroom. They charge high prices for poor quality.

Fantastic experience: Just had the most amazing experience with one of the staff, sadly cost of living it hitting hard and I've had to cancel a lot of subscriptions and memberships to help ease the burden, and for all the bad rep gyms get for being hard to cancel membership at I was ready for a fight... needless to say all that energy was completely wasted, I had the most amazing and painless experience I could've imagined.

I wouldn't sign up here if you want to use the pool on the odd occasion as it more often out of order then it is usable. To add To this things like toilets where broken and unusable the whole time I was there. All this said they refuse to let the contract go and take no responsibility for not being able to correctly maintain the gym
Negative experience: The club manager is unnecessarily rude. Looking at other reviews it's fair to say this was not personal, but rather perhaps she is in the wrong job. I am still going to join goodlife but will go to another club where the manager isn't prone to power trips.

Negative experience: Been a member of fitness first and now good life for many years. Used their online portal to freeze my membership which failed to work. When returning from a months holiday noticed payments kept coming out. Only talking two payments of $26. Provided feedback their online system failed and proof of my holiday which they have refused to process. Customer service is lacking across this gym chain!!! Where is their commitment to their members!!! Seriously it’s the principle. Terrible customer service!!!
Negative experience: I cancelled my membership. The rebrand to goodlife lost me access to fitness firsts across the country. The pool has been closed for months now with no explanation, the equipment is old and rusted. The lockers are old, the steam room is disgusting and feels like it’s never cleaned. The showers are old and mouldy. Soap dispensers ripped off the wall. I could go on…. Instead of goodlife having an opportunity to just shut the place down for a month and rip out and redo the interior it just takes over an already old and tired space. I’ve cancelled my membership and have found better value elsewhere. The staff are useless in negotiating and giving any straight answers. Stay away is all I can say.
Positive experience: It would be great if someone would maintain some of the equipment. Have reported batteries are flat several times on equipment over rhe last couple of weeks and nothing is done. Sounds like fitness first!

Negative experience: Don't go here. Half the equipment is broken. They will charge you ridiculous fees that don't match the standards of their facility. Overpriced, incompetent and too busy for a gym that size.
Negative experience: A bit disappointing, has recently rebrended from fitness first and since then swimming pool has been working on and off for weeks and has been completely closed for more than a month now. Only advice on when it will be fixed is NO ADVICE, NO TIMEFRAME, NO REFUND. Half of the lockers are not quite working and overall the feel is a bit rundown. On the plus side they have nice yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Probably wouldn't recommend joining until the gym owners get their act together and bring it up to scratch with what was originally sold as the deal when existing members joined.
Negative experience: Ive been a long time regular, since the FitnessFirst days.. lately, the pool is a bit murky and tastes a bit yuck.. Every swim gives me respiratory problems now.. I also am a regular at Good Life Burleigh on weekends and the pool at that facility is really great, clean and never experienced any issues... Me thinks the pool at GL Lutwyche is overused.. since they've reopened the pool this year, Ive noticed pool usage has geared up with large aqua jogging group sessions, evening adult swim lessons, weekend kids swim school and plus the usual gym members... there could be anywhere between 100-200 people in the pool on a daily basis.. Really hope they do something about the cleanliness before it turns into a health hazard..
