Negative experience: Worst dishonest gym I ve ever been. Don’t waste your money going to a gym where staff is not clear at the moment of sign you in a contract.

Fantastic experience: Staff here are really friendly. The communication is really efficient. Glad to fit there, but due to some reasons, I had to leave, but I did have a great journey with them!

Positive experience: The staff are passionate and friendly! There is a wide range of equipment available! While the variety of equipment and 24/7 access are great advantages, the minimum contract period of 12 months might not be ideal for working holiday travelers. However, I’d definitely recommend it for those planning to stay in Australia long-term.

Positive experience: I visited this gym on two occasions before the renovations, and it was too dark and depressing to work out in. But the recent renovations have transformed this gym into one of the better AF gyms in Sydney's eastern suburbs. The gym now boasts plenty of light, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The gym also houses plenty of equipment and machines, catering to most people's needs. And it's not too busy, even during peak hour—a huge, HUGE bonus. But the gym does have a couple of negatives. It lacks a standard straight chin-up bar, which is really annoying for someone like me whose primary upper-body exercise is the chin-up. To compensate, the gym does have all sorts of different pull-up bars and other variations of the standard chin-up bar. But nonetheless it lacks a standard chin-up bar—something incredibly annoying. The other negative: all the floors are uneven, and you have to watch your step at all times. I noticed a couple of gym members almost trip over, because of this problem. Apart from these two minor issues, AF Kensington offers an inviting atmosphere, with plenty of equipment, to have a good work-out. This gym definitely destroys AF Randwick, which is probably the worst gym in the world—even worse than a hotel gym.

Fantastic experience: The design/feel of the gym is modern and less antiquated than other Sydney AF's. The staff are friendly, and say g'day to you by name before letting you get on with your workout. The underground parking is also a huge bonus, when it's raining or during peak hour when there's limited street parking. A few more bikes with screens would be handy, but you can't have everything :)

Negative experience: Gym and staff are ok but the gym is just way too busy. Doesn’t make the gym an enjoyable experience. I’ve been going to AF for years but moving to the areas been the worst.

Positive experience: This was a good gym the jury is out as renovations are due and if they are anything like what they did to Randwick don’t bother! My hope was to transfer my membership to this gym but it’s increasingly obvious the I have to rethink staying within this network.

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience with Anytime Fitness Kensington that I feel compelled to share. A few years ago, I was a member of Anytime Fitness Kensington. When I decided to discontinue my membership, they refused to refund me for the key, insisting that I could use it if I ever decided to rejoin Anytime Fitness. Recently, I attempted to join another Anytime Fitness location, but I encountered an issue with the key. The manager explained that the key was still linked to Anytime Fitness Kensington and needed to be unlinked before I could use it elsewhere. Upon contacting Anytime Fitness Kensington, the manager was incredibly rude and unwilling to assist. She flat out refused to unlink the key, unless I rejoined Anytime Fitness Kensington or another gym from the same owner. This situation left me feeling frustrated and deceived. I didn't even purchase the key from Anytime Fitness Kensington, yet they were adamant about using it as leverage to force me into rejoining their gym. As a result, I had no choice but to purchase another key for $89 at the new Anytime Fitness location.It's disappointing to see Anytime Fitness Kensington resorting to such tactics to retain customers. I expected better customer service and transparency from a reputable fitness chain. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would caution others considering joining Anytime Fitness Kensington to be aware of their questionable practices.

Negative experience: Too busy, never professionally clean, and they continue to try and get more people in. I got annoyed when they screwed up my pass and I couldn’t get into a gym for three weeks but they wouldn’t refund me that time.

Fantastic experience: I joined Anytime Fitness Kensington about 4 months ago and haven't looked back. It's not big, but it has everything you need and is really well laid out. It's also very clean, the team go to great efforts to make sure everything is hygienic. The team are really friendly and welcoming and the PTs are impressive and take your goals seriously. I was offered a free session with Jennifer when I joined - I took it, not expecting a full work out but when I left, every muscle was sore (in a good way!). I signed up with her the next day and I still feel sore after every session because she constantly challenges me, but in a safe (I have a lot of injuries) and fun way. I've had many PTs over the years and despite her quiet and smiley demeanour, she is most definitely the most effective yet fun!

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness Kensington is honestly one of the best gyms i have been to. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Their facilities are always clean and i have no issues whatsoever. I would personally like to commend one of the Personal Trainers there - Jennifer, I had taken part in one of her free PT sessions and now train 3x a week with her. She has helped me gain so much confidence while also helping me reach my goals. She is a lovely girl that will also push you to reach your maximum potential. I am so thankful this Anytime Fitness has such people :))

Positive experience: Anytime Fitness Kensington is a really supportive place with very helpful and lovely staff. Especially Tom. Although my friend and I had an unpleasant encounter with one of the personal trainers called Jennifer upon first meeting her. She appeared very uninterested and dismissive towards us when we were asking about the complimentary personal training session. It was said that as we both have our own personal PTs we are apparently unable to make use of the free session. She later called to offer the session but since our first and only encounter we have been put right off. You could tell she wasn't interested in helping us. It's very upsetting seeing a PT or anyone in the gym acting this way especially to people new to the scene

Plus the Gym manager is a deadset legend, humble and good natured bloke who's always ready to help out. Weekly Rates are pretty damn decent too

Fantastic experience: Went to have a look at Kensington anytime fitness yesterday afternoon. Staff were super attentive and had a deep knowledge about everything inside the facility, furthermore the gym was neat and tidy. I will definitely be returning when I come back from holidays

Negative experience: Very bad customer service. Today I got my friend with me to show anytime fitness. At the door a person asked him very unnecessary question as how serious is he. Mainly stuffers are rude and don’t know anything about rules of the club and they just comment everything which they should not. Don’t lock your self into busy and rude service.

Fantastic experience: Kensington branch is the best! Even on Sunday afternoon, the staff, Luca, was super welcoming and was really patient with my international friend whose English level was low. We felt genuinely cared for and listened to. Important Membership policies and rates were explained both verbally and visually with no hidden costs. Luca’s aussie friendliness and professional cs made the gym more trustworthy and appealing! I cant wait to start at AnytimeFitness Kensington! P.S: The gym equipment were clean and organised. The gym didnt feel so crowded (on a rainy Sunday arvo) and felt much more spacious than the nearby branch and other gyms.

Fantastic experience: As a long term member (2+ years). An active lifter for the past 9+ years I believe I have avid experience in what a good and or bad gym looks like. In the case of Anytime Fitness Kensington my long term membership is testament to the former the gym is larger than most in the Sydney area certainly in the CBD, clean and full of any equipment any novice or advanced gym goer could ask for. However all the equipment in the world does not make for a good gym what makes AF Kensington the stellar gym it is… The culture from the friendly experienced staff and the members themselves very accepting open minded and respectful area to train. Personally has been one of the greatest gym’s I have been luckily enough to be a member of which I am happy to continue to the support Keep up the good work guys!! Dáire
