Positive experience: Have been training here for about a year now and there have been a few ups and downs during that time. The gym is fairly modern after the renovation that was undertaken, however in my opinion it misses some key equipment for more seasoned and experienced lifters like myself, which is the main reason I am switching gyms soon. For new starters or intermediate lifters or just casual gym-goers it is more than well-equipped though. It can get very crowded with some wait times at machines or equipment, especially in the afternoon between 4-6pm so I'd try to avoid these hours. And lastly, management and staff has improved tremendously over the time I've been there. Georgia and Ty are always open and welcoming which is such a nice change from the previous staff a few months ago.

Negative experience: Money centered rather than person centred. I had similar experience as described by other customers. Over the phone lady told me that i have signed renewal documents last month only so i have to pay 18 months 50% amount if i want to cancel my membership. Even when i said i did not sign any documents, she was resistant that i did. Only when i told that i want evidence of signing documents as i will take this consumer court then only told me that she did mistake in calculating and it is only few months contract left for which i have to 50%. I am already paying them for past few months even i am not able to go to gym because i am a new mom and currently i am finding hard to go gym. Number of times i asked to send me the link to payoff all the amount to cancel membership but not sure about the policies to pay over the phone or going to gym only. This gym term and conditions are really hard on individuals which are usually not well explained when you join. As others said they just usually try to lock you in.

Negative experience: Lack of equipment compared to the Kingsford and bondi junction anytime, lno glute drive machine or hack squat and so over crowded even in the early morning times so annoying that bondi junction gym is closed now til December

Negative experience: Possibly one of the worst and most overcrowded gyms in the world. The owner should not be allowed to hold a gym license. The good: I've met some fantastic blokes in this gym, and we now hang out together after the gym. So I've grown my guy friend circle, thanks to this gym. A huge bonus for me. It reminds me of the friendly old-school gyms back in the 90s, which were places where us guys would catch up with each other. Today, most gyms are unfortunately very cold places—almost hostile—with no banter or camaraderie or welcoming chats. Thankfully, this gym bucks the trend, with some really awesome men frequenting it. The bad: This gym is tiny, usually overcrowded with members like anchovies in a can, and the wait time for the limited equipment can be extensive. The gym also lacks key equipment and machines, like a hack squat machine. And with so many members packed into such a tight space, the spread of covid and influenza viruses unfortunately happens too often, and I have caught respiratory viruses from this gym on a few occasions. UPDATE: Recently, one cannot train in gym during peak hour. The staff have signed up way too members for this tiny gym. It’s completely unacceptable. The ugly: The last batch of staff displayed incredible rudeness and arrogance, on a level I haven't witnessed in any business. If I were the owner, such staff would never work for me. NEVER. Gym staff are meant to be friendly, approachable, and helpful. Members should feel welcome, when we enter our gym. The ugly: The gym staff fail to enforce the basic requirements for gym cleanliness and hygiene. Every gym must enforce towel usage by members, and members must wipe down equipment, benches, and machines after use. Very few members in this gym use towels, and even fewer wipe down equipment after use. And the gym staff never enforce these essential hygiene requirements. This is completely unacceptable. This situation needs to change immediately. The ugly: Recently, the gym management decided to remove several weight plates from most machines, to install a large spring instead in each machine. This spring, I presume, will buffer the noise from weight stacks being slammed down. But unfortunately for a large and muscular guy like me, these changes have meant that the entire weight stack offers little resistance, being now more like a warm-up set. Conclusion: I'd give this gym one star for equipment, size, staff conduct, and hygiene standards. But some of the members are really great blokes, making it a welcoming environment to train in and occasionally have a good chat.

Negative experience: Bring your own water. This gym doesn't supply its members with clean H2O. Mould all over the fountain, been there for about three months now. This is even after telling the staff.

Negative experience: Been a member for 4 years but doubt I’ll stay. Possibly one of the worst renovations I’ve ever seen. The A/C is left on high constantly turning the place into the Covid haven. They have oversold memberships to such a point where you can’t train there even on the quietest days. The music is blaring almost always. If I could give negative review I would. The addition of massive hammer curl racks has removed some Of the better pin loaded machines used by beginners and intermediates alike. I do t know what they were thinking the whole space is under utilized forcing members into the main area with proper equipment! It appears this is a new AF policy as now Kensington is slated for the same fate.

Negative experience: I’d give 5 stars for all previous gym managements. But if there was an option of half a star for the current branch manager and the staff, I’d definitely be going for that now. Had been a member of that gym for 12 years straight. Always been treated with respect and understanding. Latest management changes have left a bitter taste in my mouth. Entering or leaving the gym- no “hi”, “hello” , “ how are you” ? Keep dreaming . The gym went through the renovation a few months ago. The management did not even bother to let their members know about the closure, approx. period of renovation, nothing at all. Then the gym re-opened after I guess 1.5-2months. Did we get the notifications of it? I will let you to take a guess… Also without notifying any members , the prices went steeply up straight after the re-opening. I guess someone needs to pay for renovation’s expenses right? I had taken a minute to talk to the staff and especially the branch manager. Asking why there is a zero communication between the management and members and who is in charge of answering our concerns and questions the manager’s responce was that if I get to talk to her like that and keep raising my voice ( i was calm as never ) it would be better for me to leave. That was the last thing i needed to hear and it absolutely clarified my opinion on how is the gym managed and by whom. I had immediately cancelled the membership and joined a different one and I’m super happy. It’s a shame because the new gym looks stunning but… The manager should possibly take some “ people’s management” courses as her and others only care to sign new people in. Once you locked with a contract, their job is finished and you better forget about any gym info and updates. The manager should possibly question herself who pays her salary Highly unprofessional and I would not recommended it at all with the current people running it.

Negative experience: Worst gym, worst staff with worst service. Staff is very immature and the manager doesn’t even know how to talk. They are only interested in locking you in to a contract and that’s it. They didn’t provide what they offered. They care only money, so getting your payment details is their business goal. Easy business. They don’t provide service, but take money. They don’t compensate anything when they break their contract but they want customers to pay penalty for cancellation. Don’t waste your time and money here. Never recommend.

Negative experience: Today I went to anytime fitness in Randwick to ask for information about a membership.the staff was not there , I had to wait for 30 minutes and while I was waiting I was trying to use one of the machines for about 1 minute . When one of the staff finally showed up , one of the staff of Anytime fitness started screaming on me and having a rude behaviour against me because I was using the machine without any permission. even though I apologised about that . I has been treating really bad . Poor customers service and rude behaviour from the Staff of anytime fitness in Randwick

Negative experience: Bad first impression. Was curious about a membership promotion that I received via email, so dropped into the Rnadwick branch to find out more. I asked how much personal training would be ontop of the membership, and the girl at the front desk was extremely cagey. First, she said "it varies from trainer to trainer as they set their own rates". So then I asked for a price range, and she claimed she could only disclose that information (1) if I sit down for a 1-on-1 consultation and discuss my goals etc, and (2) assured me that it's standard practice to withhold those prices and other gyms/studios do the same. The second claim is nonsense. I've been shopping around for a personal trainer and haven't encountered a single gym/studio/ personal trainer that has withheld their prices when a prospective client is enquiring in good faith. Let's just say that I'll be taking my business ELSEWHERE since i value transparency and do not appreciate time-wasting sales tactics like this. Good luck.

Negative experience: Terrible gym. My membership fee was hiked to $104 a month despite being in the middle of an 18 month contract.

Negative experience: I would also like to highlight the poor service I received from your branch today. I went I it the branch to cancel my membership. When I got there three female staff members were playing with a customer who had a dog. All three staff members blatantly ignored me until I asked if someone could help me. The younger of the 3 said I should take a seat and she will think of how she can help me which made no sense. I said I can see she's not busy, besides taking pics of the dog so I would like to be helped. One of the other ladies now decided once she was done going the dog treats that she can help. I said I came in to cancel my membership and the Anywhere Fitness website said to come into the club to complete a cancellation form. She insisted thats not how they work, I should send them an email and they will email me the form which again made no sense. This is just stalling tactics. Why should a simple cancellation need to be so hard? The only reason I didnt email is because I tried calling a few times with no response. When I did come in before I was told to bring in my access fob but now I was told I can keep it incase I would like to rejoin in future.

Negative experience: They refused to give me a price over the phone unless I came him. Too much of an effort to join. I was literally ready to go in and join. I was disappointed with them refusing to give me a price over the phone. Made an excuse saying it was too hard to explain over the phone. Be careful of any I dodgy sales tactics if you do visit the gym! A friend experienced the same problem.

Positive experience: Summary: Good gym but lacks standard gym equipment. Pro's: newly refreshed gym and they've made a good use of space (awesome amount of racks). Super friendly staff who always say hello and a good training atmosphere. I'd say the gym is also 'slightly' less crowded than the nearby Bondi and Maroubra alternatives. Con's: Unfortunately, Randwick lacks what I'd consider 'standard' or essential gym equipment such as a hack-squat, seated leg curl, arm machines, seated calf (list goes on etc etc). Although It's a medium sized gym with limited space, I see no reason why these standard machines haven't been added? If you can fit a vending machine, but don't have a hack squat ... (priorities right?) Also, an additional one or two cable systems is urgently needed, there's only two and I've seen people nearly fight to use them. Hopefully we see these modest additions ASAP. I'd happily edit my review to 5/5 and recommend this gym to others with some more of the basic equipment covered or at least some commitment from the staff to get them. This gym has massive potential. But until the basics are covered, I'd say spend your money with Bondi Junction or Maroubra.

Negative experience: I signed up at a particular rate with Anytime Randwick and was told that after a certain length of time (a month maybe?) I could also use other gyms. I work in Redfern and the Randwick gym was closed for several weeks because of renovations, so I used the other gyms at Surry Hills and Redfern during that time. I've just had an email from Surry Hills telling me my membership has been transferred to SH and I will now be charged significantly more per week as a result. Not happy with this, particularly since I don't remember being told at sign-up that different clubs had different rates and Randwick has been closed for several weeks anyway.

Negative experience: I've been instructed to send an email in order to cancel my subscription one month prior to the date that I neednto leave. I did that and now, almost a week later, not even a confirmation that my email was received. I tried calling, I tried email again, I tried instagram and no answer from this staff. They are very happy publishing storied and trying to get new clients but if you are a client already they won't even bother to answer you. Poor customer relation.

Fantastic experience: Updated: Gym is in top shape now. I hope going forward the staff will keep the place and equipment well maintained. Old review: This gym is holding it together just like a bandaid. The state of the gym/machines is terrible just like it was a year ago. The management seriously needs to step up! Anytime Fitness in a area like Randwick can do 100x better.

Fantastic experience: The freedom to go anytime is what make me rate it 5 stars. The gym is not that big and the equipment is a bit old/consumed, but overall, if you go during evening time like me, you can workout without waiting to use machines and equipment. Also, the opportunity to go to any other Anytime gym in the city if you need, it is another plus.

Negative experience: I joined this gym and then cancelled within the 7 day cooling off period as it was too far from my home and parking was busy. This was two months ago. To this day I am still getting emails from Anytime Fitness for overdue fees. I have sent so many emails back asking for my account to be cancelled, as per my legal rights under the contract. If this continues I will be reporting to Fair Trading. Completely unethical conduct - honour your contract AF, and allow people to cancel within cooling off without charging their account. DO NOT join this gym.

Negative experience: total scam of subscription - Already filled all the forms to finish my subscription because I am going overseas soon but received no response back. Super bad customer service and staffs are lack of consideration towards their customers. Please dont ever sign up to this club again, if you in the area go to the Kensington or Kingsford one those might be more helpful

Negative experience: I am embarrassed to be a part of this gym. My asthma and allergies are consistently triggered when working out here; the amount of dust and grime covering machines, windows, fans, ceiling ducts, walls etc is horrendous. The airconditioning is sub-par, the water fountain dispenses warm water, and the bathrooms are an absolute disgrace - always. Toilets are always blocked/unflushed. Yesterday all four toilets had issues; blocked, pee all over the seats and yesterday I had to wipe with a paper towel (!!) as there was no toilet paper. Also yesterday, two out of the three wipe dispensers were completely empty. The no towel no train policy is not enforced whatsoever, so wipes are needed before using any sort of equipment. I am very seriously concerned regarding the health and hygiene practices of this gym. This gym is screaming out for help.

Negative experience: Terrible email communication and customer service. Changing to FitnessFirst. They told me that there is a max time of freeze of 2 weeks, which ISN’T TRUE! I read the contract and doesn’t say anything like that. Basically telling lies and misleading customers! Update: their “solution” is to offer free stuff instead of recognising their fault and the poor communication they have had.

Negative experience: [ maintenance & cleanliness ] Dirty toilets, struggling to find wipes and sanitiser as there’s always one or two stations refilled in the whole gym, full of dust everywhere and old equipment.

Negative experience: The gym is actually quite nice and well equiped, unfortunately I had to step back from the contract and used the cooling off period (signed up Thursday and cancelled Tuesday) , all according to their terms and conditions. I even went into the studio the next day to confirm that they received my cancelation and was assured that they did. Nevertheless, I got charged the membership fee 3 days later. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym!!! Just like all the anytime fitnesses, this gym has a welcoming environment and is well maintained. The show stopper of this gym is the staff and the kind hearted nature of their assistant club manager Aaliyah. She hasn't been there for very long but she is such a light!!! She gets you motivated and pumped up for a great workout!!!! I hope to see her more often. Love your work!!

Negative experience: Small gym. Terrible customer service. They say you can transfer your membership at any time, but they make it as hard as they can. Don’t recommend getting the membership at this branch.

Negative experience: I only visited this anytime today because I wanted to get a workout in before heading to the beach. So I'm not sure if this reflects well on the regular condition of the gym. The equipment is quite old and some machines could need some maintenance. The "no towel no train" policy is not enforced even when staff is on-site. It's a bit unhygienic that majority of the people train without towels, don't sanitise it and jump back and forth between multiple machines without putting weights away. I feel the gym has potential but it needs a bit of a makeover. Edit referring to the response: I understand that theoretically the "no towel no train" policy as well as sanitising after use should be strictly enforced. However, I saw with my own eyes that it wasn't at all. Their response is lacking any sort of acknowledgement.

Negative experience: Worst AF gym I've been to, out of many across Canberra, Wollongong, Sydney and Southern Highlands. As others have mentioned it's extremely poorly maintained and the equipment is old. There are only 3 squat racks why? It's a small gym but I've seen small AFs that use the space a lot better.

Negative experience: This is the worst anytime Fitness I have been to. I have been a member here for 10yrs on and off, and avoid the Randwick gym as much as possible. I go to the city or maroubra however as this one is the closet to where I live so end up here some weekends. Here’s just some of the issues, a drinking fountain that has warm water, leaking ceilings, broken clocks (and even the ones that work take weeks to update the time after daylight savings) tvs that just show errors or standby, broken and worn out equipment, air conditioning that doesn’t work or just doesn’t get turned on, rubbish in the cubby holes that have been there for over a week, and today no music at all.

The music and air conditioning has now been fixed, and the broken equipment has been lodged with Life Fitness and we are waiting on parts. It will be resolved as soon as possible. Fantastic experience: The welcoming in gym is great. All working staff ,trainers and managers are very helpful at all times. Gym is very comfortable fit with all equipment I need for training. I am very happy to continue training in this gym.

Positive experience: Since i became a member it has change management for the better, dealing with Alanah is a pleasure she is very helpful and friendly, you are always greeted with a smile by the rest of the staff also, it is good to have female management, it accommodates a nice environment to train in! and a the music is normal which is great, I listen to all types of music but some of the gyms i have trained in play music that uses disgusting lyrics 24/7 creating an uncomfortable environment. i would recommend Randwick Anytime fitness Anytime.
