Positive experience: The GOOD --- spacious, lots of equipment, facilities, parking, 24/7 access, swimming pool, sauna, spa, body composition reading device. The BAD --- not all areas are covered by aircon , spamming mailbox (dont bother to read" no spam" in the mailbox.
Negative experience: crazy bad service, just focus on gripping your money.
Negative experience: Upset because the inside of the gym looks nice, originally I won a free membership (runners up) and was promised over the phone free one month of pilates and a free membership until when that opens up but when I went I was told I would only get 7days free and then I was pushed to sign a contract and get a membership and pay for it, I kindly said I would think about it because I didn’t feel comfortable after I thought I won a free membership but I was pushed to sign and pay for a contract. I was just suprised because I was promised a free membership until the pilaties opened up but I guess it wasn’t true. I didn’t really go in there with the impression I would have to sign up for a 6 month contract. ☹️

Negative experience: Dont join coaching zone unless you know all techniques and self motivated. My first day was today. The coach head Marvin welcomed me by investigating what procedures I had done. Instead of asking if I have any health issues impacting my excercise, he policed me like I did something doggy. During the class, he was busy talking about weekend challenges (from beginning to the end) to a particular group. He knew my first day, but He did not explain to a new member what to do let alone how to do it properly (He told the whole class quickly at beginning but it was so quick). I asked him, he replied in a way to saving his time and energy). I was about to give up and go home even it meants washing my early morning. I told him the equipment was too heavy for me, he said “it’s up to you” and leave. So he did not help to adjust activities or equipments to suit me. Luckily another member helped me. Overall, he was busy talking to one group about weekend activities. He did not encourage people or took a great care of people’s postures. He is the coach head, hope that his leadership does not have implications on other coaches there
Negative experience: The air quality inside the facility is concerning. It seems that the air purifiers are either not functioning properly or are frequently turned off, which significantly affects the atmosphere. A sports club requires good ventilation to ensure fresh air circulation, as the current environment often smells of sweat and is unpleasant. I would recommend implementing regular use of air fresheners as well to maintain a more inviting and comfortable space for everyone.
Fantastic experience: Really extensive facilities, friendly staff and not overly busy but always people here. Sauna is good too. Recommended, I have not done classes but there is plenty on
Negative experience: Very rude and arrogant misleading information asked to be a member and he would not help me he was just so unprofessional and rude highly do not recommend Also I got threatened and was made to feel intimidated

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Genesis for sometime now and I can honestly say Genesis Ringwood is a fantastic gym! Their membership prices are really reasonable with plenty of different training options. I have made use of every aspect of my membership including Coaching Zone and PT sessions and have really appreciated the focus and support of the training staff. They have helped me to train to achieve my goals resulting in weight loss and greater strength. Every coach is wonderful, but specifically Marvin and Jess have been brilliant to encourage/push me to work hard and get great results! Thoroughly recommend joining
Negative experience: Worst gym that I've ever been to! If you're thinking about joining Genesis, let me give you a heads-up: you're putting money down the drain. Their membership policies are very misleading. They'll rope you into contracts that make it easier to get out of a mafia deal than cancel your membership. As for the equipment, well, let's just say you'll be lucky if half of it actually works. And good luck trying to get a spot on anything during peak hours. It's a circus in there, most of the time equipment is either out of order or occupied. Save yourself the trouble and find a gym that actually gives a damn about its members. Genesis Gym is not a good place. These people will scam you!
Negative experience: MISLEADING MANAGER When I joined, I asked Gym manager Marvin Johnson that I’m a single mother with two kids. "ONLY reason ill join this gym, If i could bring my kids". And he said "DEFINITELY YOU CAN" So I went to the gym and the same day I was embarrassed infront of my kids & other people. As I was told we don’t allow kids in the gym. Receptionist was so rude to the kids. Extremely appalling behaviour I wish I had read the reviews of this gym before signing. I wouldn’t have joined. I would suggest everyone to read their reviews before joining. Whole franchise is so cunning. I’ve hardly gone there. May be 15 times in one year. They only want your money. Being a single mum, life is already hard. And they’ve made it even harder. Head office did send me an email to pay 50%, only if I join the gym again. I already told them I’ve kids. Not sure why they’re keep on insisting to make me a member. When they are providing misleading info. You would understand that from a trainee but not from a gym Manager. Now the whole thing is with Credit collectors. I don’t even know what to do??
Negative experience: Heard one of the personal trainers (girl with black hair) gossiping about one of her clients, who is PAYING her, about how she would never do anything at the gym apart from use machines and could you imagine dealing with that for 8 months?? Honestly pretty gross hearing a PT talk about someone who’s paying them and trusting them like that. This person really needs to think about what they’re saying in public spaces.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Many equipments out of order takes forever for them to fix and sometimes even already fixed was still not completely fixed. Bathrooms are old and horrible
Negative experience: These people will steal your money, they have the most misleading guides and staff members, do not join, they will make your bank account dry. They might seem like nice people but don’t be fooled, save your money for some other gym.

Negative experience: Stop putting your junk mail in my letterbox thats clearly marked no junk mail. I tried to sort it our directly with the gym to be told I need to speak to the delivery company. They'ye your contractors acting on your behalf
Negative experience: Be wary - Staff misleading. My 15-year-old son was signed up for a "no contract" option. He went to cancel after one month assuming just the Joining fee was payable (this was something I has specifically asked when signing up). Subsequently we were told he has to wait another 4 weeks to cancel and then the cancellation would be effective 30 days after that. At no point was any of this mentioned verbally and emails were sent to an incorrect address. When asking for a solution and who I could escalate this to I was told VCAT. Disgraceful.
Negative experience: Avoid Genesis gym. I joined for six months but had to cancel after one month for a genuine reason. Despite my attempts to cancel, they kept charging me for the remaining five months, even though I didn't use their services. They refused to accommodate my request and lacked transparency. Don't make the same mistake I did; steer clear of Genesis

Negative experience: Never seen such a terrible customer service from "sales consultant" in my 30+ years of gym experience. Walked into the gym, asked to see facilities. Repeat request 3 times. In return I got an attempt of some sort of sales pitch from sales consultant who did not even make an attempt to show me around. Too bad for them. 3 new members gone to another local gym.
Negative experience: Be careful with this gym, They told me after 12 months , cancelation is free and I cancelled after 15 months they took 4 weeks and cancelation fee of my account .
Negative experience: Been a loyal member for many years and unfortunately it accounts for nothing. Worked with 6 wonderful personal trainers over the years and attended many classes. Current management refuse to refund even if health reasons including hospitalisation and advice from doctor prevent you from attending and 12 mth membership already paid in full. Will never return!

Fantastic experience: Hope my physio at progress physiotherapy was amazing. She relieved my pain, identified my issue and worked a plan that works for me. That dosent include have countless physio appointments. Thank you Hope

Save your money and find another gym. - customer service is horrible. - once you sign up and they ask you to put down “friends” that might want to join the gym, best believe they will spam call each individual every single DAY. - They don’t let you quit the gym. Fantastic experience: Signed up for this gym post-lockdown and it was only last year when I really started visiting and using my membership. Reception staff Polly is very welcoming—always has that smile when clients enter and leave the gym. Toilet and changing room are clean. Shower areas also clean. Alcohol wipes and hand sanitisers are located in multiple areas—love this! Sauna, spa and pool area are also clean and quiet—good for relaxing the body post-workout. They have enough equipment available around which is helpful especially during busy periods. I have been with one of their personal trainers and she’s very lovely and easy to work with. They also have a body scanner which helps you to see and compare results using the app.
Negative experience: Customer care service is horrible. The other day someone called me and ask me that why did I put someone with me in the gym. When I said please check the date and time again as I never put anyone with me, and then they realised it’s their fault and Hangup the phone. Other day I went to the front desk and requested to give me the car parking sticker, they advised they are out of stickers. Asked if there any other options to help me, they advised park some other place and walk to gym but not the gym parking area. Clearly it’s a rough way to handle customers. Not to Genesys anymore or refer anyone
Positive experience: I've found the coaching zone program to be highly effective. Some of the senior coaches are really good and will teach you the right technique etc.
Negative experience: This gym will keep eating your money even if you makes a cancellation 30 day before your contract. So don’t join this gym, there’s a few of better and safer gym in Ringwood.

Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly staff, great gym full of all the equipment you could need. The pool and spa are definitely my favourite and the aqua zumba class is good value for my money.
Negative experience: Don’t recommend, they try and manipulate you into these programs to pay more. 6 week challenges and things like this. Then they don’t let you cancel and charge you ridiculous amounts for extras you don’t even use. Dodgey as and sneaky.

Negative experience: Went there to use a 5 Visit Pass for the first time that was given to a friend of mine upon them joining the gym. Put my details into their database and answered a few questions before being told that they could not honour the pass as I did not live locally (I only live 10 minutes away) and because I did not want to join the gym straight away (they asked about whether I wanted to join the gym right away and I said I’ll see how this session goes and consider it). The lady who told me this had the pass in her hand then walked away with it, so I couldn’t even give it back to my friend for someone else to use. Ridiculous that they would not even let me in for such a petty reason, really only wanted to take my money without trialling the gym first.
Negative experience: THIS GYM WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY Tried to cancel my membership at the minimum term following all the steps in the contract. Was told on the phone it will be taken care of and then rudely hung up on. After getting charged a week after the minimum term ended I called again and was told they will fix it. After getting charged a second time I called and was told the cancellation request was never put through and it had to be sent to the cancellation team at the THIRD PARTY company that takes your money. Was basically told it was my fault for not knowing this. Still have not received the refund I was promised.
Negative experience: I originally sent in my details to redeem a 5 day free trial. Before I know it, I’m in the club getting pressured into a membership with no mention of a free trial. They pressure you with all these seemingly great deals and are so focused on a potential sale that gives you little to no wiggle room to check out their highly unethical membership contract that has you in a contract with not only the gym but also a direct debit company that is ongoing beyond your membership period unless you tick a box. The box was not visual on my devices. I end up leaving without becoming a member (thank goodness). I’m then contacted by them again but as soon as I mention the free trial there is always an excuse… oh we can’t do that on sunday, we have another promotion so the free trial isn’t valid, you can’t try out the group classes. A few days later, I’m on the phone to another staff member in hope to get access to the free trial through her. She told me they can give me a 1 day pass where I responded “isn’t that false advertising, then?” Her reply was that, “… yeah, well that’s just how we do things here”. I encourage others to go support businesses that allow you to try before you buy and aren’t money hungry and unethical.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! I attended the club yesterday on it's so called "open day" as I was keen to get back into going to the gym and thought I would try my old club again and potentially sign up if I liked it. I was told by the manager Brad I could not try the gym as I've been a member in the past and I would have to sign up for a membership with a 7 day cooling off period. Appalling customer service and false advertising. Their "Open day" advertisement clearly says "past members are welcome to join the fun too". The place has clearly gone down hill since management changed. Way too money hungry. I'm not surprised it looked awfully quite on their open day and during what used to be considered peak time. Please do yourself a favour and do not join this gym. There are much better gyms around Ringwood that will actually let you try before you buy, rather than just try to scam you into a contract immediately.

Negative experience: Watch out if you choose to join Genesis Ringwood, once they have your bank details they just reach in and take whatever, whenever. I was told when signing up recently there was no admin fee, next thing I'm being charged my weekly debit of $49.99 plus $55.00 on the same day. When I questioned Genesis about it they admitted it was an error but could only offer me credit, to bad if I was relying on that money to pay bills for the week :/. This is the second time I've been stung by Genesis Ringwood, 8 years ago something similar happened in that I requested to terminate my membership, giving Genesis Ringwood the required notice at the time but after that time had passed they continued to reach in and take my money which ended up in dishonour fees being charged from my bank, I could not get hold of anyone at Genesis Ringwood to help with the situation, as far as they were concerned I'd already cancled they just wouldn't sort out the continued debits they kept stealing from me. I ended up contacting my bank and telling them not to allow Genesis Ringwood anymore access to my account. There was no offer by Genesis Ringwood at that time to reimburse or credit me for the funds they were stealing. Which it is, if they were not given permission to take a certain amount of money then it is stealing. As an edit to this post, I recently cancled my month by month no lock in contract membership with Genesis and for some reason they stole a debit of $213 out of my account. I'm yet to find out why and if they will admit their mistake and give it back as I was relying on it to pay an important bill, without it I will have to borrow money to pay my bill. That's the stress this company has put me through.
Positive experience: Plenty of equipment, don't have to stand around waiting for machines to be free. Membership includes access to various group classes like Yoga, Pilates, Zumba and many more, which is fantastic. Open 24/7, which helps. For the cons, Personal Training is very expensive. Some classes have to be booked in advance they fill out very quickly. Some of the cardio machines are old and you can spot rust.
Negative experience: I was a member of Ringwood Genesis for 9 years until the start of 2022. It’s a fantastic club for your own gym workouts, with a good variety of modern equipment. They have some amazing group fitness instructors too including Lauren & Anna!❤️ Polly & a few others are exceptional receptionists with high customer service skills. I never felt very welcomed upon entering with two of the male staff members on the reception. I always felt it was an effort for them to acknowledge me entering or leaving! They were never welcoming or friendly towards me, including when tidying up equipment on the gym floor. Very disappointed after being a long term member the service declined with newer staff! Group fitness classes have changed lots over the years. Unfortunately quite a few of my favourite classes are no longer available at this club. Boxing classes were never the same after lockdowns & it was the last gym in the area to bring boxing classes back for some unknown reason.♂️ I enquired about using the Wantirna Genesis too & couldn’t because they only allow members to train at one club! Sadly I wouldn’t recommend this club anymore.

Negative experience: Be careful when you want to cancel your membership. They didn't cancel my membership and keep continue withdrawing from my bank account even after 2 months of multi times telephone calls. On each call to Ringwood Genesis they mentioned they recorded my cancel request in the system but nothing happened. After 2 months somebody reach out to me and mentioned that the personnel don’t aware of my request! It's crazy and unacceptable!
Fantastic experience: Genesis Ringwood is a really good gym. It is well equipped, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is really good carparking opposite if you have one of the permits they supply. People who use the gym are also friendly. There is a relaxed atmosphere, everyone gets on well. As far as I could see Genesis offers the best value for money in the Ringwood area.
Negative experience: Super disappointed, the policies definitely isn’t user friendly. Frankly speaking it’s a bit unbelievable. 10000% wouldn’t recommend, there are so many better options out there
Negative experience: Went there to get prices and services they provide, I forgot my vaccine certificate as i had them overseas, not enough recpect in this place to give me prices, basically they kicked me out saying your not allowed to be in this building without vaccine certificate, I ask them to remove my number from marketing txts as i wont even walk pass this place but txt are killing me even though i unsubscribe from them, went to hammers gym and they respect me and asked for vaccine certificate when i was joining. Very disappointed with this complex.

Fantastic experience: The membership process was straight forward, simple and priced well. The equipment is great with a huge variety for everyone no matter what your fitness goals and plenty of classes to chose from also. The best part is no pretentious people, just members doing what they want and enjoying the gains.
Positive experience: Good range of excercising machines but I believe there should be more effort put in maintaining them. Also airconditioning in the Gym is good but not great.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Gym. Well priced, Open 24/7. New equipment and the staff are great. Michael is the manger and he is relatable, kind and knows what he is doing. Polly and Tina are at the front desk, they know who everyone is and its always a pleasure having a quick chat on my way in the door.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has never had confidence when going to a gym, I could not be happier at Genesis in Ringwood. The warm greeting I get from not just the staff, but other members goes a long way in making me feel at ease. I’ve finally found a gym that allows me to enjoy exercise, instead of seeing it as a chore
Fantastic experience: I give Genesis 5 stars. Good location. Great value, really great value, Nautilus facilities in the gym are exactly what I need being an older Australian and the place has a great vibe. Definitely not one of those gyms where you could cut the atmosphere with a knife!!! The staff are friendly and easy going and pretty in-tune with life is my observation. Originally I started to make enquiries just when lockdown was starting again and they stuck with me following up, keeping me informed and finally when the time came to sign up as lockdown eased they were so easy to deal with. All contract and payment details were fully explained in plain English so no hidden surprises, what you see is what you get.
Fantastic experience: Super spacious gym with ample equipment and areas to train! Staff are always very friendly and communication is tip top. Management during Covid has also been excellent with prompt suspension of memberships and free online classes during periods of lockdown. Thanks

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Genesis for about 13 years. I joined to help recover my fitness and body tone after my second child. Over the 13 years, I have seen Genesis Ringwood continue to improve and the desire to deliver a quality produuct is still at the forefront of the gyms focus. It is a very well- managed club. The staff are friendly and there is friendly banter in all the classes that I have attended, which helps to provide a sense of community. The knowledge amongst staff of human anatomy and how the body responds best is impressive! Over the Covid period hygiene and code of conduct has been integrated effectively to meet all requirements. It's a great gym. Come and check it out!!
Fantastic experience: Genesis Ringwood have had a really difficult year, between lockdowns and meeting ever-changing covid-19 safety standards. However, at every turn they have communicated with members and risen to the challenge. They have suspended memberships immediately upon closures and provided free work out videos. They have conducted themselves very professionally and are to be commended for their community mindedness and consideration of members.
Positive experience: Dont get me wrong, the gym and everything is great. My only feedback is that theres an inconvenience for me when I go there after work at 6:30-7pm and the changerooms are always barred up and ‘closed for cleaning’. I fail to see the point of going to a 24hour gym initially due to the convenience of able to commit after hours, but never being able to access the changerooms when i get in. Perhaps a quick suggestion is to do cleaning later throughout the night and maybe leaving the toilets still accessible? Was previously at the boxhill branch and they had no issue leaving the changerooms open even during cleaning and the cleaning wouldnt take place until late night after 10pm. Really hoping this can be fixed somehow and doesn't affect my decision of commitment to this gym.

Fantastic experience: I joined Genesis Ringwood in between the two lockdowns last year and have been very happy training there ever since. The staff are all friendly and helpful and there are so many benches that even at peak times there is usually one available to use! If you are looking for a good gym at a competitive price look no further than here! You have no excuses if you think going to the gym costs too much, I pay $10.95 per week! And I can come whenever I like. I’ve made lots of great friends here and still manage to find time to do my workouts without staying all day!! Be sure to come and check this place out and get your fitness journey started or take it to the next level. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I started in Dec in bad shape. Zoom a few months later and I've lost over 20kgs! The Coaching Zone classes are awesome. The instructors are awesome and friendly. And I've made a few friends. Would recommend this to anyone who is commited to becoming healthier!

Fantastic experience: Genesis Ringwood is the best gym me and my husband has joined so far. The trainers and staffs are amazing and very friendly. We love going to the gym now not because we are getting some of the results that we are after but also the people and the environment that they have. Shout out to Shanon and Nathan they are amazing.

Fantastic experience: Such a great community atmosphere! The gym is huge and has amazing facilities including a pool and spa! Love the variety of classes and the high tech coaching zone which really tracks how hard you are working! Definitely best gym and value for money!

Negative experience: I only joined up for 1 month membership ONLY, however I was still being debited for a monthly subscription 5 months later and through Covid lockdown (staff didn't tell me that I had to cancel after 1 month when I joined). I've attempted to make contact via their website, email, FB messenger with no reply asking to cancel my direct debit. Very disappointed, I expected better as they pretty much roll out the red carpet on arrival to get your money! I was also promised a $30 Nike gift voucher for leaving a fabulous review but never got it....still waiting!
Fantastic experience: I love this club as it is a big part of my life with great classes and instructors especially Anna and some great friendships have been formed. It is a very social club and lots of options. Am highly recommend it
Fantastic experience: Genesis Ringwood is by far the best gym that I have ever been a member of. Every piece of equipment that you could ever need is available and there is ample space provided. Classes are challenging but inclusive, everyone is made to feel welcome. The gym, pool/sauna/spa area and change rooms are always clean and well maintained. What really separates this gym though, not just from other gyms but from a lot of other businesses, is the staff. Every staff member that I have encountered has a genuine passion to improve your fitness, your health and your happiness. It is apparent that staff love working at the gym because it is reflected in everything that they do. Although I have now relocated I will always be indebted to them; a truly special place.

Fantastic experience: I have found that Genesis Fitness Ringwood to be a great place for my excercise,all the equipment is all up to date and plenty of excercise machines for all my needs. Genesis have very good staff that are all very friendly and they all greet you with a smile. I would have no problem recomending any of my friends to come and join.

Negative experience: Worst gym and customer service in the area. Avoid!!! Reply - Wrong, I requested my membership be cancelled, I'm not going to pay money to a gym that treats members unequally. Secondly, why wasn't the mask rule enforced for every member? There was a guy talking to your customer service staff without a mask on when I entered the gym. Not only did he swear at me multiple times but he threatened me and tried to intimate me. Thirdly, that wack job at customer service swore at me several times. That's some great staff you have there mate. Real professional that she stormed off because she had to compose herself. She's mentally unstable. But I give you credit for hiring someone with a mental disorder. Well done. And no I'm not upset at all. More than happy to hand over my money elsewhere. As for you 'Josh', how about grow a pair and return my call or email instead of hiding behind your keyboard.

I understand you are upset that we terminated your membership, however, we won't tolerate the use of profanities and frustration directed at our staff who are just trying to do their job. At the time, masks were required to be worn in the club at any time you weren't exercising strenuously - this was directed by the chief health officer, not an internal policy and was widely publicised in the media. It's important to us that we are doing our part to stop the spread of Covid-19 so our team were directed to ensure all members were wearing a mask until exercising. Negative experience: I don’t usually write reviews but I am at the point now where I am beyond frustrated. I have written to cancel my memberships almost 2 months ago now and it still has not been cancelled! I have moved states and can not use the gym yet I am still being charged, I have followed up via email every week for the past 4 weeks and have not received a response and I am still getting charged, can someone get back to me about this ASAP?!?! I prefer to be communicated with via email and not phone due to my work hours.

Negative experience: I'll never come to this gym again due to my bad experience here and poor customer service provided. Waste my time and money, but I really learned from it. Tips: do not call them and talk to them as they do not record or memory anything. If you have any issues, write down and keep a copy by yourself.

Fantastic experience: This gym is one of a few, that offers ample car parking space, extremely helpful reception staff. Lots of equipment, very well maintained. Reasonable prices given all the facilities.

Fantastic experience: I have been at this gym for some years now. I have not only improved my fitness but made some great friends. The coaching zone program is excellent and all the staff are friendly. I recently had a credit card issue and Mark the manager sorted it for me immediately. I highly recommend you give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
