Fantastic experience: Great course with tough holes into a head wind. Will be even better once the clubhouse is rebuilt after a fire took it down.
Fantastic experience: Had a round here yesterday as the current membership drive sparked my interest. I played the East course and started with a warm up on the driving range. Hitting off grass is a great feature. The fairways were lush and consistent for the whole 18. The greens were massive, flat and ran true allowing me many chances to get on in two. The par 4’s and 3’s are tricky playing from the blues and I suggest the course would be a different proposition if you hit off the whites. I played with two lads who were both fabulous and I'm very grateful to them for taking time to explain the course and where the club was at in terms of the temporary facilities and the new clubhouse etc. The chap in the pro shop was also very helpful. He took time to explain the course layout and starting point and I should note any members I bumped into were friendly and welcoming. I was warned about flies and read that in previous review. Not sure what the problem is. It’s spring and nothing a wee bit of bug spray didn’t sort. Most enjoyable experience and round. Didn’t win the comp but took out 3rd place!! Sign me up!! Best Charles
Fantastic experience: It was super windy, raining and they have done drainage on the course everywhere. It was amazing the pro shop was so friendly and helpful, the greens are perfect what an amazing course.
Negative experience: Unfortunately, didn’t live up to expectations. Fantastic course, great layout and lovely scenery (could use some extra signage) but the service was quite poor. I completely understand there is no clubhouse right now (due to renos), but the shed pro shop was sparse (had no women’s clothing) and unmanned when we arrived. A man asked us if we were being helped to which we said no and his response was to start swearing and yelling to his friends across the yard. The young man who came to assist was quite nice but I would have expected much better temporary facilities and service from what is meant to be a top 60 course. Even though it’s a members course, I would’ve like to receive a course map or at the very least some instruction on getting to our first tee and a score card. We booked the cottages specifically to play the course and it didn’t hold up, unfortunately quite disappointing.
Fantastic experience: despite fly infestation, facilities were amazing and the toilet was easily s-tier. those little towels and L'Occitane soaps and toiletries did it for me. Marble/granite everywhere and warm lighting made me feel VERY posh just taking piss there. Edit: Talking about the old clubhouse. Apparently it burned down or smth.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic golf course, the rangers in the background, wide sweeping fairways, greens slick, the view from the 18th spectacular. Just a shame about the clubhouse burning down.
Fantastic experience: A little hidden paradise! Quiet place to rest, amazing relaxing view from the wallabies and nature! The golf course is huge and customer service is great! The cabin was so comfy and had absolutely everything that you need for a restful stay!

Dear Matt, We are disappointed to read that you were disappointed with the corporate golf day that you recently attended. Following the postponement of the date your event was originally scheduled to be held, unfortunately, we had two events taking place on the same day. Your golf day played on our rated Eastern Waters course - a composite course consisting of holes 19-27 on the main course and our Par 3 9-hole Shark Waters, also designed by Greg Norman Golf Course Design. There were also some delays caused by the morning fog which we do experience during the autumn months. Thank you for your great feedback regarding the food service and we will pass these on to our team. Once again, our apologies that your golfing experience didn't meet your expectations.
Fantastic experience: My first time here and I absolutely loved it, we played a round on the South course over the weekend. The course is in great condition. The views as you make your way through the course are spectacular. Greens, fairways and tee boxes (+ driving range) are in top condition ( As you would expect from a club of this pedigree). Def one of my favourite courses here in Victoria. I wondered how the facilities were after the clubhouse fire, needless to say they have done an amazing job with the temporary members pavilion! Can't wait for the new clubhouse to be completed, however as it stands I would encourage everyone to pay a visit.. highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Top of the line facilities here at the Eastern Beyond that, the course itself is so picturesque and is a nice challenging course to play. After the round, the clubhouse has an amazing bar with a good selection of drinks and food. Overall, it was a great experience at the Eastern Golf Club

Fantastic experience: We have just taken our 4 grandchildren to the movie night at the clubhouse and wanted to give a huge congratulations to the 2 staff running it. What a superb evening! The kids had an enjoyable night and loved both the movie, endless supply of popcorn and the pop tops. As for the big kids we had a stress free night watching the grandkids enjoy themselves and the movie choice was great. Thank you and please do it again.

Positive experience: Great clubhouse however the course is suffering a bit from wet weather. Some greenside areas very thin for grass. Greens are ok and quite challenging. Its a long walk but thats golf sometimes.

Unfortunately, we were heavily impacted by last year's extreme weather events with significant amounts of the course under water for several months - with the final floodwaters not receding until early January of this year. Our course team have done an incredible job throughout the summer and autumn months with the restoration works undertaken in readiness for winter. We keep coming back here as it's good quality for the price, picturesque with a couple of holes with great views, and really personable and friendly staff with cracking mustaches. Fantastic experience: We had a work social golf day event at The Eastern today. The service and hospitality from the staff was fantastic! Drinks carts came round regularly and lunch was amazing! The golf was a lot of fun. The course layout is fair and very picturesque. The course appears to be recovering quickly from recent floods. Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing experience here yesterday in a private room for my grandfather Ted's 90th Birthday. The waitress was so attentive and accommodating to everyone's dietary requirements (& the chef of course) Thank you to everyone who made it a memorable moment for a great man. Highly recommend x

Positive experience: Presentation great, bar and service great,views lovely. Thought some of the food was average, was a birthday dinner but Duck under cooked and tougher than an old tyre sitting on some sort of mash no taste very poor. Crab entrees dry and fairly tasteless waste of time. Seafood pie terrific,chips lovely plenty of salt and pepper. Beer good and cold perfect. Obviously they have a cook and not a chef. Lovely plush ambience

Unfortunately this winter has been challenging with extremely cold temperatures and the month of August the wettest on record since we opened in 2015. Unfortunately, flies can be problematic throughout the summer months in Australia and we always recommend that golfers carry some form of fly repellant in their bag. We look forward to seeing you back out on course very soon.
Fantastic experience: The Eastern Golf Club have a secret weapon and its name is their golfing coach Scott Barradell. I could barely swing a club let alone hit a little golf ball 5 months ago, but have had success since being one of Scott's students. He has made the last 5 months exciting rewarding and fun. His patience is immense and his coaching skills impeccable. Nothing is too much trouble for him. This was brought to the fore when I had trouble with my golf shoes and he was able to rectify my problem and I am still smiling and so grateful. If you need any help or tips I would recommend Scott 100%. Who knows you might be the next Club Champion? Hopefully see you on the Range.

Positive experience: Great golf course on this side of town. But still a lot to be desired during peak winter months where it is a lot wet and mud is oozing out on fairways making it almost unplayable potentially closing the course for some days. Some lesser known golf courses around the sand belt area are in much better condition during these times. Would love to give it a 5 star if these conditions improve.
Dear Pradosh, Thank you for your comments and we apologise that your experience was less than positive. Unfortunately this August has seen the most amount of rainfall we've experienced since opening in 2015 - with in excess of 85mm; whilst our location adjacent to the Yarra River doesn't help when that reaches high water levels during periods of high rainfall. We hope you will have the opportunity to come back and play during the much better weather that late spring, summer and autumn bring with them. Keep enjoying your golf, wherever you may be playing.

Fantastic experience: Did not have the chance to play round of golf since we're travelling with our little one, though the course looks fantastic and very inviting. Clubhouse is great and the staffs were really friendly. We were able to hit the range using their borrowed clubs for free (Since we're staying in their cottage i assume) *A must visit place for golfers around Vic*

Fantastic experience: 10 out of 10. I had the pleasure of being able to play here and it didn't disappoint. Pristine greens and fairways make this course what it is and although it's a hard course, it's enjoyable at the same time. Would recommend this to anyone who has a chance at playing here.

Fantastic experience: One of the best experiences ever! Myself and my partner never played golf before. We had the lovely Jake as our tutor. He is such a kind, patient and passionate young man. He made our experience one to remember and was very patient with us. The lesson was extremely comprehensive and he guided us very thoroughly. Fantastic experience: Not only is the Eastern Golf Club situated in a spectacular setting, all staff from the Admin team, the Pro Shop and the Catering staff are so friendly, always professional and provide excellent service and the food is top notch. My dear father was a member of the club for almost 50 years and he always found the staff to be like family. Well worth the visit to eat, play and stay.

Dear John, It was lovely to welcome you to dine with us in the Clubhouse recently - thank you so much for your lovely feedback regarding our incredible team who do a fabulous job. With the current industry wide staffing challenges, our hours of operation vary throughout the week; and as a result so do our menus. On Tuesday, we offer a Snack Menu, with a more comprehensive menu available Wednesday - Sunday. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
Negative experience: Laughably bad, Fawlty Towers level experience of poor service and total lack of concern from staff and management. We booked the dining room for a 100th birthday. Upon arrival we were told that we would be sitting in a bar area, and that the only menu available would be a snack menu. If we had been told this, of course we would not have booked for such a special occasion. After having to request a menu (when we realised none would be given to us) and being handed one single menu for a party of 8, and having to retrieve our own from other tables, we ordered, and one of the three main dishes was unavailable. However we ordered and after a while the food started being slowly delivered to the table. After half an hour, during which time most of us had finished, two dishes still had not come - including the lunch of the lady turning 100. The other non-arrival was a sandwich which we had already been told was pre-prepared, not made fresh, so really no reason it should not have turned up. After asking twice, eventually the two dishes were delivered (along with an attempt at re-delivering two burgers that had long been eaten). The final dish - the birthday lady's lunch - was plopped on to the table with no apology whatsoever. We didn't bother with the birthday cake we had brought along so took it and left. On the way out, we spoke to the manager, who very far from being apologetic, told us the booking was our mistake, we should not have been allowed to book a table anyway, as we were not members (our fault we were allowed to book, apparently?!), who said that when you do two orders you should expect food to arrive separately - perhaps true but not half an hour apart, and actually the two late dishes were one from each order, so truly a terrible excuse. Then she asked sarcastically 'if the birthday girl had a lovely time anyway'. Again, no accountability, no apology. Just awfully, laughably bad service from a shower of people who do not belong in hospitality. Such a shame that a literally once in a lifetime occasion was marred - obviously we still celebrated and we will visit another restaurant to celebrate properly, but still gobsmacked that it all happened.

Fantastic experience: What amazing customer service from Scott the manager with assisting me through purchasing a MGI buggy A.T as a gift. After calling every club in Melbourne and comparing all costs, the eastern golf club beat all prices around & scott going out of his way to personally deliver was just 110%. Make sure to give them a call if ever in need of any equipment as they are by far the most reasonable and fairly priced club around. Thank you Scott!!

Fantastic experience: Staff were welcoming, spoke well, left the appropriate amount of time between drinks. They presented well.Lunch was very nice. I had 2 entrees - zucchini fitters & salad niscoise (included a small medallion of seared fresh tuna - yum), my husband also had zucchini fritters followed by fish & chips, my sister had the salmon and her husband had the pork loin chop. Food was well presented using fresh crisp ingredients and beautiful subtle flavours. Great pricing with the entrees at $16.50, mains not substantially more and my husband chose the 2 for $35 deal. Great selection of local wines, including by the glass and averaging around $7.50. Their house Shiraz was also surprisingly pleasant. Great atmosphere, with the tables and oh so comfy chairs well placed so we're not being included in the neighbouring conversation and vice versa. Plus, we were not over-run with golfers coming in for lunch:). Definitely full points and we were pleasantly surprised

Fantastic experience: Wedding: We had 1 of our Indian Wedding Functions here. They were very particular about what they could accommodate and couldn't. We only wished we could have done all our wedding functions here but they could only accommodate 150 people haha, and wow, my did they accommodate them well ! The other functions had requirements of 300, 650 pax so we had to look elsewhere. But we loved this venue so much that we has to have 1 functionhere and it was beautiful. The sunset, the scenery, the decor, the wildlife was excellent. Perfect Picture Perfect. Not too far from the city (especially the north - north east). Staff were average-good, but the kicker was that manager allocated to us on the day was exceptional. The events team was helpful but strict and inflexible at times - but I guess that was to provide a standard of experience that they are committed to delivering. Overall, very pleased and grateful that we got to experience part of our wedding here. Thanks guys, really appreciate you making our memories - memorable.
