Goodlife Health Clubs West End: Opinions
Fantastic experience: lovely staff, amazing and clean gym. Is awesome that it is 24/7 unlike the goodlifes closer to my appartment
Thank you for your kind review, Boston! We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying the clean facilities, 24/7 access, and our amazing team. It's great to know our club stands out for you, and we’re here to support your fitness journey anytime. See you at the gym!
Fantastic experience: Good value multiple activities gym
Thanks Duncan!
Fantastic experience: The men’s showers were really good and clean, staff really friendly and locker was nice and large to fit your clothes
Your generous review means a lot to us. We are thrilled that you are enjoying our gym, facilities and services
Fantastic experience: Great, experience!
Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are pleased to learn of your positive experience. If there's anything else we can do to assist with your health and fitness journey, please don't be afraid to let us know. Have a great day!
Positive experience: Please bring back the card to access the club, this app is a pain (at least make then pass available in the apple wallet)… Also lots of kids sticking around chatting on benches instead of working out.
Thank you for your feedback and patience as we roll out digital access. We are the very first club in the country to have this feature! Which is super exciting. We appreciate your suggestion about adding the pass to Apple Wallet and will share it with our team. We'll also work to ensure a productive workout environment for everyone.
Positive experience: Not a bad gym, but it has some negative issues: 1) most of the times too crowded. With a few people that use some machines too much time talking with friends, without allowing others to use it 2) not a good maintenance: it is clean, but most of the time there are not wipes to clean the equipment. And there are some machines that dont work and they keep being out of service for many weeks.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying aspects of the gym, and we apologise for the issues you've encountered. We understand that crowding and equipment availability can impact your experience, and we’re continually working to manage peak times and encourage proper equipment-sharing. We’ll also address the maintenance concerns you raised regarding wipes and machine upkeep to ensure everything is as it should be. Your input helps us improve, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you for being a part of our community!
Fantastic experience: There are many classes to choose from which makes it so easy to include one in one's day. So much equipment available & instructors around who are happy to show the ropes to a newcomer. Management also very helpful with membership problems. Club is also very conveniently located within shopping centre.
Hello Maureen, this is such great feedback, thank you so much for taking the time to share it with us!
Fantastic experience: I do reformer pilates classes and I absolutely love coming to West end because of one of the instructors, Baby is so positive and great at walking you through each exercise and why you do each exercise. She's also great at giving individual aid and alternatives if needed and I'll always try to keep my Wednesday midday free so I can have Baby as an instructor.
Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear that you've had such a positive experience at our club. We wish you all the best with your continued health and fitness journey. Feel free to reach out if we can support you in any way!
Negative experience: Finally left - unfriendly staff, overcrowded majority of the time and staff are just sales, sales, sales…unethical. Even since leaving they try and call and resell me a membership. So many other better gyms in areas
Hi Mat, Thank you for getting in touch. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and would love to understand more. Please feel free to send us a direct message so we can discuss further. In any case, we wish you all the best on your health and fitness journey and hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future!
Negative experience: Horrible with their terms and policies, it’s more of a scam with their payments and policies I would not recommend anyone to join. There is no such thing as cooling off period they just keep charging and over charging as much as they can once they know if you are going to leave please don’t join this gym
Hello Pallavi, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We can confirm that we do have a 7-day cooling off period on all of our new membership agreements. It looks like your request was made outside of this period. We can also see that you have been in contact with our team members this week and they are working towards a resolution with you. If you would like to discuss any of this further please don't hesitate to reach out to us via DM on Facebook or Instagram or give us a call on 1300 393 733.
Negative experience: Very average gym, the only reason I stick with it is because I live in West End and I don’t do weights on the floor. They majorly oversell memberships, so the gym is always way too full. It’s always dirty. Nobody uses towels on the equipment and the staff is not enforcing the rules because they are too busy selling memberships. Which really seems the only purpose of having staff at the front desk. The latest and greatest is that apparently they are getting rid of all the yoga classes and replacing them with this Les Mills Shapes classes. I looked it up, it’s not even close to yoga or even body balance. Obviously Goodlife is only interested when they want to sign you in. Once you are in there’s very little regard for the members. Do better!
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Flavia. We’re sorry to hear about your concerns regarding cleanliness, overcrowding, and the changes to our class offerings. We understand how important these factors are to your gym experience. We’ll address your feedback with our team to improve our cleanliness standards and ensure that staff are more focused on member satisfaction. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We hope to make improvements and provide a better experience for you in the future.
Negative experience: It has been the third time that I ask an specific question and the staff member that is in the counter every Sunday has never the answers. Does not even make an effort to find a solution and leaves you wondering, do they actually care about their members? Does he really care about his job? It is quite frustrating, facilities have improved and tidiness too, but there should be an emphasis on customer service. Waiting until the contract is finished to find a new gym.
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We're sorry to hear about your experience with our customer service. Providing excellent customer service is a priority for us, and we apologise for any frustration caused. We value your feedback and take it seriously. We will address this issue with our team and ensure upskilling takes place to be able to better assist members. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve. If there's anything else you'd like to discuss or if you have further feedback, please feel free to contact us directly. We want to make sure your experience with us is positive and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Signed up recently. Loving it so far!
Hi Joy, thank you for your lovely review! Welcome to the Goodlife fam and we are so pleased your loving it so far. If there's anything we can do to support you, please do let us know.
Negative experience: They really pack this gym full and are always promoting $0 join fees. Therefore it's the busiest gym you'll ever go to. I suppose it's good to try out the gym, or if youre mostly interested in the classes, but unless you can always go at an off-peak time, you'll be waiting to use almost everything, and it really hinders your workout satisfaction. There's also tonnes of people (including trainers) hogging multiple machines at peak hour and it really gets too much sometimes. They have a limited number of machines so it's really hard to balance use with this many people there at once. If you want to be guaranteed the equipment you need for your workout every time, this is not the gym for you. This is why I've left goodlife after a year.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with overcrowding and equipment availability at our gym. We understand how frustrating it can be when the gym is busy. Your feedback about trainers and members using multiple machines during peak hours is valuable, and we will address this to ensure fair usage for everyone. We appreciate your input and are committed to making necessary improvements. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you all the best in your fitness journey.
Negative experience: Every day I see this gym it looks like the fire alarm went off during a HITT session, there is weights every where. Wipes all over the floor and a feeling of uncleanliness. Also see far too many people not wearing correct attire or using towels. If you can’t put it back dont lift it!
Hello, thank you for your review. It's very ALARM-ing for us to hear that your experience in our gym has been less than satisfactory regarding tidiness & cleanliness. Ensuring our members have a clean and organised space to work out in is a top priority for us so we will definitely address your concerns with the appropriate people. And we agree, if you can pick it up, surely you can put it back, right? We appreciate you giving us the heads up. If you'd like to raise the alarm on anything further, please don't hesitate to reach out to us on our socials!
Negative experience: The worst gym I have ever been to in my life. Small space, all the machines very very close and a bad smell everywhere. All the fans were switch off / no ventilation at all. The toilets very dirty. I don't recommend this gym in West End.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns with us. We're sorry to hear about your experience at our West End location. Your feedback regarding the space, ventilation, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere is important to us, and we take it seriously. We would like to discuss your experience further to better understand and address your concerns. However, we were unable to locate a membership under your name. If you could provide us with more information or reach out to us directly via social media, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and improve your experience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Fantastic experience: A lovely clean gym with good classes and plenty of space. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Woohoo Laura, we love to hear it. Thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: Thank you so very much to Paul Sheppard and Goodlife. Great communication with GoodLife. From the start Paul made me feel so comfortable. Even with communications before and during sessions, very professional, kind, and with patience. Also giving me good choices on availability. Giving me reminders. Then in the sessions he walked me step by step through it, listened to my wishes and trying to accommodate for it. Also supporting me to push forward. Outstanding support. Thank you Paul and GoodLife.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that Paul Sheppard and GoodLife have provided you with excellent communication and support. It's fantastic to know that Paul made you feel comfortable from the start and was professional, kind, and patient throughout your sessions. We're delighted that he listened to your wishes and provided you with guidance and encouragement to push forward. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to Paul and the team. Thank you for choosing GoodLife, and we look forward to continuing to support you on your fitness journey!
Negative experience: Facilities are dirty and a lot of the equipment doesn’t work. It’d also be super helpful if the staff stopped hanging up on me when I try to cancel my membership
Thank you, Emily, for sharing your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to learn that the cleanliness of our club didn't meet your expectations, as maintaining a clean environment is paramount to us. If you'd be open to discussing this further, please feel free to reach out to us via social media. We're eager to address your concerns promptly.
Negative experience: Poor management and just rude staff. They just want your money nothing else.
Hello Mr Sillis We're disappointed to hear about your experience and apologize for any frustration you've encountered. Ensuring our members feel valued and supported is a priority for us, and we take feedback like yours seriously. If you would be willing to provide us with more specific details about your experience, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to address them directly; please message us on facebook. We wish you all the best & thank you for taking the time to leave this review.
Negative experience: Dirty gym toilets never flushed. no wipes to clean equipment. too crowded for hygiene purposes. lack of equipment. no where to be seen exercise balls and bars missing. What's worse is the total rudeness and disgusting staff and the management. No one says hello as you enter Very different to the two in the city who call you by your first name. ZERO concern here for safety and the manager has ZERO concern for members. he really needs to get lessons on dealing with people who are loyal members for over 15 years and who clearly has no awareness of how he talks to members and very unprofessional. I suggest the two bigger gyms in the city! this one is a total disappointment and they dont seem to care to increase their rating. Not a gym for the loyal gym members.
Negative experience: Not very transparent about their pricing. Signing up for a minimum 1 month weekly contract means you still have to give 30 days notice to cancel. Was told when I was signing up that I can cancel any time
Negative experience: Always busy, even at 5AM. Machines and water taps are always broken. Gyms always dirty and has a thick layer of dust everywhere which includes their plants. Go here if you like waiting for one machine which could be broken and always dirty.
Negative experience: Don't be fooled by the latest fake reviews (Scroll back to 3 weeks ago when they all started) - poor equipment availablity - very poor hygiene in bathrooms - keep piling in new members without new capacity
Fantastic experience: good spot. i rate it
Fantastic experience: Man at reception always has chocolate milk in hand. 5 stars
Fantastic experience: Love this gym , great spot being so easy to get too. Yes it is a little smaller than some other Goodlife gyms but this makes it more personal and gives a great vibe. Always friendly and helpful staff with a fantastic range of different classes offered at all times of day . No excuses here …. There is always something on . Just the right amount of equipment for me and like all gyms yes it’s busy at peak times but you have to expect that as it’s normal. 5 stars from me and thank you for getting me into Reform Pilates as well ;0) Jacquie
Fantastic experience: Great club with friendly staff. Mum and I love the reform classes!
Fantastic experience: Clean, modern equipment and nice and cool which is a big plus! Not too busy, lots of equipment available when I come in around 2pm.
Fantastic experience: Really friendly staff, the receptions are really jacked
Fantastic experience: Dominic and Sam were very friendly at reception. Great vibe
Fantastic experience: Very nice staff who brought positive vibes, convenient location with free parking
Fantastic experience: Great experience while coming over from NZ
Fantastic experience: Friendly, great gym in west gym
Fantastic experience: Martell and Sam were great help, got me into great shape and I love it here.
Fantastic experience: New member. Good gym, good facilities, and enjoying the reformer Pilates
Fantastic experience: Great facilities friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Great gym good equipment
Fantastic experience: The best place for workout. Good crowd, some of the best trainers I have ever met. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Small but has everything you need. Avoid peak times though as people have terrible sharing etiquette
Fantastic experience: Best customer service and the machines at goodlife west end specifically the hip thrust machine has done me wonders.
Fantastic experience: Facilities are new and clean. Good range of equipment.
Fantastic experience: Best gym I’ve ever been to
Fantastic experience: Great gym and atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: Great gym, not messy not over crowded
Fantastic experience: good service and amazing staff
Fantastic experience: I cannot sing enough praises about this club. They have a great range of equipment and a great choice of classes. All the staff is friendly and always welcoming. I was shocked to see negative reviews. I have attended numerous gyms in my life, and West End Goodlife has been the friendliest and definitely not lacking any equipment. The front desk staff are always helpful. The club has a great team of personal trainers. My daughter works with Paul Sheppard four times per week. She has autism and used to hate exercising, but working with Paul always makes her smile. Paul is the most enthusiastic, kind, and supportive PT. He has relaxed and non-judgmental attitude, and his enthusiasm is infectious. I highly recommend this club, not only to people who are serious about fitness, but also to people who are anxious or self-conscious. This gym would be a great place to desensitise, get fit, and achieve your potential.
Negative experience: Worst gym you can possibly think on joining. Honestly, don’t even bother! I went there and had to cancel my membership because it is way too crowded. I went there in person and canceled in 5 days, during the trial period. They didn’t cancel my membership properly in their system and I was still charged! It has been literally months now, after many calls and emails and still no refund! If you want a super crowded gym, an inefficient team and extra problems when you try to cancel, that’s the gym for you!
Fantastic experience: Amassing facility. Great staff. Thanks to Jess, Paul, Jasmine and Sam.
Fantastic experience: Decent workout place in westend center. PT Josh is really supportive and friendly. Lost 7kg during his session. Will come back to build more strength with him.
Positive experience: The gym has a great location. However, the facilities have a very poor management, designated areas don’t have proper signal so patrons do whatever. Moreover, We never have body wash in the Toilet, and most of the time it is dirty
Negative experience: Avoid, avoid, avoid..... Completely overcrowded and poorly maintained. By far the worst gym I've been to in 10+ years. Management have not put a cap on the number of memberships they sell. AS a result its always overcrowded and almost impossible to train in the afternoons. I also requested cancel my membership, the staff were quick to take the cancellation fee of $290, however, I had to call multiple times accross 2 weeks to actually have my membership cancelled.
Negative experience: Yeerongpilly even those is not open yet, must be keen to get members, when they put up posters at bus stops which is not allowed, put junk mail in letter boxes that says no junk mail and other locations ring you getting you to join even those the so called free trial is not finished.
Positive experience: Small for the amount of members this would serve as a home gym. Only a few benches for freeweights which was 100% taken for the full time i was there. Great quality equipment though which was clean. Just that a 30 minute workout took over an hour, as its full of people doing max reps of their thumbs (sitting in their phone). And taking up all the equipment. Just super crowded but overall an alright location, has good potential, not bad not amazing. 3/5.
Negative experience: Horrible gym, it's always overcrowded and busy. I also made the mistake of signing up for a year, four months in, and I have hardly used my membership. What's the point of going to a gym that is always so busy, with limited equipment. This goodlife is tiny compared to their other gyms. Save yourself the money and sign up to another gym.
Negative experience: I signed up for a 5 day trial. I had a membership person call me wants to ask if I wanted to join and I said I was thinking about it. On my second day of the trial The nice guy at the receptionist told me membership had told him I was not entitled to the trial because I didn’t respond to their message. They didn’t even bother to speak to me directly. They told him to tell me I wasn’t allowed to use the trial any more. Absolutely awful management and just generally LAME!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, friendly staff. Always clean and neat. One of the best gyms I've used in 20 years.
Negative experience: Applied a physical card for a year to enter the facility, but haven’t got it yet. This gym is so bad
Negative experience: Disgusted with the way their manager Stephen Allen handled our situation. Worst gym. Only friendly and desperate when signing the contract. Horrible customer service after. They only want your money and will take ages to contact you back. Communication is horrible and misleading. The gym is Always busy and overcrowded. I don’t recommend this gym at all but If you do, I recommend recording every conversation you have over the phone from the very beginning when signing the contract.
Negative experience: Horrible sewage smell.
Negative experience: Booking a class of Pilates is a nightmare, you’ve got to book way in advance to find a spot. On holidays the timetable changes and no one informs anything. Very poor management at least at the west end branch, very rarely the person at the reception knows anything at all. There’s no app so you have to book through a very inefficient website.
Negative experience: too many people , even I go there after dinner around 8:30pm. Most of the equipment are full. Also, the clearer is unprofessional, they didn't be aware when using the vaccum during people squatting at the plateform. It is very dangerous !!! Also, most of the time, they are no handwashing fluid in toilet and wet wipes .
Negative experience: I've been training for 20 years and I'd say this is the worst gym I've ever been a member of. The layout is poor and there's no where near enough equipment for the capacity of members. Good luck trying to wash your hands with the non-existent soap or find a paper towel that isn't on the floor in the bathroom. After emailing management months ago about a cycle machine's foot straps to be repaired I still have received no reply. I can see why the Goodlife founder sold out and has gone a different direction. The company simply does not care about the members. Save yourself the hassle if you're moving to West End and sign up to one of the other gyms in the area.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, love the staff good people and love the vibe there.
Positive experience: This gym has decent facilities and is in a great location. But yea like the other reviews say, it gets way too busy at some times. Good for if you like to go to the gym after 10pm.
Negative experience: This saloon is always full. The problem is not about full , it's too small saloon when u come at morning 6 o'clock it's full when you come 10 o'clock at night it's full 12 it's full because squish place you can't do soo much cardiovascular workout yea maybe you can do hypertrofi but rather then that you can't do anything. I give 2 star it's because I still can take a shower.
Negative experience: Don’t join! Trust me don’t join!! Don’t do the reformers classes, if you don’t book like 3 days in advance you won’t get a spot. IT IS WAY TOO BUSY. If you use the gym before or after work, you literally can’t do your workout cause there is no room. They need to stop bringing people in because me and my brother joined and were told it is not busy except at 5-6pm, that was a lie from sienna staff member. Even though it’s cheap, you literally can’t work out so don’t bother. I PROMISE YOU’LL regret it. They continue to promote joining the west end one when it at least 4x its capacity. A 40 minute work out with the machines you want is at least 1hr 30. Me and my brother walk in and walk out because we don’t have time to wait in lines for the machine. I wish the staff was honest from the start or someone had let us know, so I’m letting you guys know.
Negative experience: The worst gym management I ever experienced ! When working out should be a stress release and they are actually adding more anxiety to you as they are over charging you for your membership for months and refuse to refund you $150. They only made some break payment in my membership to compensate, and it still doesn't make it up... Renegotiated a price and they kept on charging the old one, they are terrible at following up client satisfaction... Just a factory that is good to take money. Such a waste of time and energy !!
Negative experience: Definitely not recommended. The staff get so rude as soon as you sign up the membership, obviously a place that only wants your money. They have very poor management facilities.
Negative experience: The facilities have a very poor management, designated areas don’t have proper signal so patrons do whatever. It has been three days since the same bottle is standing in the same place and no of the staff members have been able to clean. That’s how poor is their attention to detail, clearly a place that just wants your money. Facilities are always out of order, either toilets or machines and takes months to repair it. There’s way more affordable options with much better and clean facilities. Definitely not recommending it.
Negative experience: Terribly oversubscribed for a tiny gym. Completely packed and full from 6am-8pm. You spend more time waiting for a machine or weights to free up than actually working out.
Negative experience: Regarding to I cancelling my membership due to I moved my place, they lady Alana called me this morning just hanged my phone straight away. How cultured she is. How wonderful service Goodlife provides.
Negative experience: Look, I get that Monday nights are super busy and people are entitled to do the workouts they want but there needs to be some sort of timing per squat rack during peak hours. I waited probably 20/30 minutes on the floor next to the racks for one to be free. The people on them clearly saw me but just continued to hog them. One chick proceeded to talk to her other friend for 10 minutes but left her squat rack with all her stuff. Then she called another friend and was on the phone, then did super sets. One dude used his phone for a few minutes in between sets. And then he did an overboard amount of sets of squats and then deadlifts. Another dude did the same. They were both on the rack before I started waiting and one dude was still on it after I started my squats. Not 20 seconds after I got on a rack some dude asked me if I was done cause there was nothing on my bar??? There were a bunch of other people waiting too and I am sure they were pissed at how long they had to wait. I pay for the gym too and when I have to wait 30 minutes + for a rack and can’t do anything else cause then I might never get a rack it’s just a waste of my time and my ability to do what I need to meet my goals. It’s just super disappointing that there isn’t rules in place that makes it fair for all members. Especially those struggling with their health and weight and want to better them self but they aren’t given the ability to. The reason I quit the gym in the first place was cause I was spending too long in the gym. I finally talked myself to getting back into it and it’s just more of the same except I’m just sitting around waiting for equipment all the time. I had a 45 minute workout which was created by my PT from my home club and give about 15/20 minutes for warm up/cool-down I approx. should have been at the gym for 1hr 10mins but I ended up having to pay for parking which means I was there over 2 hours so I would have just been waiting for equipment for about 50 mins+. Happens every week but Monday night was just overboard.
Positive experience: I love the community feel that the gym gives. The yoga ♀️ classes are amazing and love Michelle as our instructor. The whole gym has a sanitary protocol and everyone seems to participate in keeping thing’s hygienic there which is important to me.
Negative experience: The change rooms here are dimly lit, they stink of body odour and toilets are never clean. The also do not allow cash payments which is ridiculous. It's just about your money at this gym franchise go somewhere else..
Negative experience: Overcrowded, super bright lights everywhere, staff are useless, no sauna, just bad honestly
Negative experience: I have no complaints about the gym itself other than being small with limited equipment. However my complaint relates to the access cards. I work long hours and needed a 24hr gym. When I started, they didn’t have any access cards available. Told me to go to another gym to get a card but other gyms told me it’s my home gyms responsibility. Then west end told me it’ll arrive next week etc etc. I kept asking for an access card over and over again for 4 months but every good life gym had no access cards. Then when goodlife took over fitness first, the fitness first members had priority over me with access cards. If they couldn’t look after their own paying customers, I quit and will take my business elsewhere. And magically they had a card available for me. I discovered after I quit that some goodlife like at Springwood can actually let you enter the gym with the app. Something west end should have invested in right from the start and would have kept me as a customer.
Negative experience: Some machines are broken, since long time ago and has bot been fixed. Additionally not space because it is very busy most of the time. Costumer service 0 zero
Negative experience: Way too oversold for such a tiny gym AND constantly still pushing for new members. Seriously, how can you keep selling memberships when it's already always packed full of people as it is. They only have one of every mechanical machine so when its even a little busy which is pretty much all the time you have to sit and queue for them, and stuff is always broken. It smells bad in there too, like grey-water in a dank cupboard - which is unsurprising given the AC unit in the corner is leaking something which has been dripping on the leg press for months now. There's a fleet of PT's walking around soliciting themselves, I watched one of them go around asking every single person if they needed any training basically begging for business. When I joined I was given a "starter pack" of 4 "free" PT sessions only to find that the trainers don't get paid for their time doing those and their only incentive is to pick up new clients on the back of them so in good conscience I can't use the training sessions that came with my membership because I know full well I can't afford to become one of their ongoing clients. The bathrooms are filthy. There is one lady who obviously comes in for rehabilitation which is fine, but she comes in with an entourage of people - does the rehab trainer & their friends/support workers have to sit on the machines around the one she's using taking up that equipment when other people want to use it? I raised this with the staff along with an instance of a dude taking selfies in the mirrors on the weight floor (against the rules to take pictures in the gym) but nobody seems to care. Overall, pretty bad and way overpriced.
Negative experience: Homeless people sleep in the chnagerooms regularly. FEMALES PLEASE BE Aware. I can't comment on Wether the same applies to the female changeroom but please be aware. This is such an unsafe situation I am surprised nothing had been done about it. Some piggyback In. I have seen those with access cards swipe in. It is intensely unfortunate to be in their position, alas I do not think maintaining your gym membership allows you to utilise it to sleep in at night. Shower/toilet/use wifi... Yeah go for it! But sleeping?
Negative experience: Gym is small, over-subscribed, dirty and it seems like all the amenities are broken. No lockers, handles fall off taps, dirty washrooms, dust everywhere. Not the best.
Fantastic experience: Terrific staff and amazing customer service, a true gem out of the good life gyms
Negative experience: Their facilities are generally good, but I had to cancel my gym membership with them as they were taking out $26.64 from me every week, yet there were rarely ever any of the exercise classes I was interested in, which was the main reason I joined in the first place really. There were more of the classes I was interested in at first, which is why I stayed for a while, but then they simply lost interest in providing said classes anymore, and I'm not here to fund a gym that isn't providing me with anything beneficial. Also, their online timetables are extremely confusing and not at all useful. There are two timetables for classes online. The one that presents itself first, and so makes it seem like the only timetable on their website, isn't accurately updated, and so you'll look up a class and visit the club, and the class won't be on - which is a waste of time and money for members. I made a complaint about their timetable, and was told that there's a second timetable on the website, it's simply hidden in a very convoluted place, so you have to know it's there in the first place in order to find it. Good to know now, except that there still aren't enough of the classes I'm interested in on offer. To top it all off, after having to complain about said issues, rather than apologising and ending my membership sooner, so that I don't have to pay - they advised that I had to pay for an extra month before I could cancel...so it's a very one sided relationship. Not impressed at all. Some empathy and better care for the customer is definitely required. If you're looking for regularly occurring exercise classes, I'd go somewhere decent. Do your research and make smart choices, and don't commit to long term contracts. I just want to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen again, just to be good and safe.
Negative experience: Disgusting toilet and rude staff. I brought a friend on weekend, and the girl told us you have 15 mins left, and after 15 mins she would make an announcement for us to leave. Is it really that serious to make an announcement? So rude, bad customer services. I expect something like ‘ W e’re so sorry, but staff hours will end in 15mins, visitors are not allowed out of staff hours, is that ok? ‘ will not visit again
Fantastic experience: Goodlifes' newest gym in Brisbane is big, well set out and clean. They have had problems with the sanitary towel dispensers, they seem to be empty or broken every week, but otherwise, it's a superb gym with new equipment and machines
Negative experience: Hi, Goodlife west end. I am very happy to have joined Goodlife for almost two years. But recently I found out that my membership fee has increased. At the end of December 2022, I referred my friend to join Goodlife in the West End store. I asked the clerk how long my contract was, and she checked it for me and told me that if I resign my contract, I can continue to pay $15.99. I agreed. But since December 20th, my bill record is still $16.47. And I don't see 2 weeks free either (referred to a few friends before and didn't get free either). These things add up to my great disappointment.
Negative experience: Please clean your showers. The same fake nail and tampon package is still in the shower and it’s been over a week!
Negative experience: A few weeks ago my money was stolen from my wallet in the lockers and I called the goodlife about it and they never called back or even cared to look into the matter. The guy probably still stealing customer stuff btw. 17/01/23
Negative experience: If you train before or after work don’t bother. Over crowded, not enough equipment, terrible layout.
Positive experience: Happy with Goodlife West End. A smaller gym compared to other Goodlife gyms but the Reform Pilates classes are great as part of the Platinum membership. Terrific value and friendly instructors to guide workouts.
Fantastic experience: PT staff are absolutely lovely - I’ve spoken with Adam multiple times and had a session with him and he’s fantastic. This is my first experience with a big gym and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Positive experience: Great club and most receptionists are polite except 1 so far, never acknowledge members when we walked in and she just pretend not seeing us.
Negative experience: Shocking condition and unclean. Rude management when requested to remedy
Negative experience: Debt collection agency which just happens to have an on-site gym. There are countless gyms in Brisbane. For the sake of all that is good, avoid this one.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with fantastic group fitness instructors. Reformer Pilates also a real bonus. Shout out to Laura, Tanya, Katrina and Portia who always give their all during group fitness classes. Best gym I have ever belonged to.
Negative experience: I had done quite a bit of looking online at joining a gym being new to the area. We went yesterday to have a quick look at the facilities. We were made to scan in with QR code that then wanted email, full name, phone number, full date of birth, reason for attending, etc etc and more. I got half way through entering all the details and said to the staff member that all we really wanted was a quick look. Were told, “this is just what we do.” Sick of having to give over all our personal details and put up with the hard sell marketing emails, texts and phone calls that follow, just to get basic information on what’s offered. No thanks.
Negative experience: No sauna, no heavy, gym space too small & no proper machines for glutes.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoy goodlife west end. Staff are lovely, gym equipment is great and group classes are fantastic.
Negative experience: For a new gym, most soap dispensers have fallen off the wall and the others are empty. A lot of the bag storage boxes have broken locks. It's begining to feel over priced.
Fantastic experience: Goodlife west end has the most modern equipment compared to the other goodlife I’ve been to. The staffs are always friendly too. My PT is George who strengthened me very much in a short period. Some people forget to wipe the equipment after their use or not put towels, but the wet tissue is always full and it is not the management’s fault people are not doing so. The best thing I did this year was to join this gym
