Negative experience: As someone who has been a member of this gym, I’ve gotten familiar with the people here and here the talk that’s goes around that I agree with. This gym was an amazing budget saving, efficient and friendly place to come into. Thriving with a wide accessory of exercise equipment and the assistance their team USED to provide. However the last couple of years the gym has made some of the dumbest decisions ever. There has always been an overcrowding situation and an equipment quality issue at the gym and many people have requests a solution to this. Instead of showing their loyal members they’re being heard, they instead upgraded the entire gyms aesthetic, took a frequently used machine into another room which if you don’t pay a certain price, you can’t come in. Backward step in the business as every time I’ve been in the gym, the “coaching zone” has either completely empty or has been used only for an hour just to be deserted till the following day. People i would consider harder Gemini’s members than me have now been talking about a move to another gym like general conversation now.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Dandenong Gym, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The customer service is exceptional; the staff are friendly and always willing to help. The gym is spacious, providing plenty of room to work out without feeling cramped.They have female sessions only aswell. The equipments are all new and well-maintained, making every workout enjoyable and effective. I also love the other amenities like the sauna ,Pilates and swimming pool, which really enhance the overall experience. The rates are very affordable, especially considering the quality of the facilities. The location is convenient, with ample parking available, making it easy to get in and out. Plus, when you start your membership, you receive a water bottle and a towel, which is a nice touch. I also appreciate the great discounts offered, making it even more budget-friendly. Overall, Dandenong Gym is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to stay fit in a welcoming and well-equipped environment. Highly recommend

Negative experience: I strongly advise against signing up for this gym. The pool is poorly maintained, with dirty water and debris like band-aids floating around. Management is extremely dismissive when concerns are raised, such as machines being out of order or pool closures, offering no explanations and responding rudely. On top of that, the pool and change rooms are frequently unavailable for members due to school or corporate bookings. I will be canceling my membership soon as it expires.

Negative experience: Pool is never working on long weekends / public holidays. Staff makes up bulshit about the pool malfunctioning, but we all know it's bulshit they're trying to save money by not having the heater going. There are royal morons doing that will only end up costing more money to heat the pool. This is not a disabled friendly gym for anyone who needs a reliable functioning swimming pool. :(

Positive experience: A member of 2.5 years. Average gym. Friendly staff. However, needs another dual cable machine for sure, especially with the coaching zone taking place, hence blocking 1 of the 2 dual cable machines which is pretty annoying coz obviously I’m paying a membership for the access of the whole gym. Also needs a standing calf raise machine which every other gym has, plus the quality of half the machines aren’t that great including techno gym which is legit horrible I’m sorry to say. The old nautilus machines which were “upgraded” were much better than half these new machines. The Overall facility has upgraded which is great, but the quality of half the equipment has decreased which is unfortunate, except for nautilus which we need more of and some of the sterling machines which are decent. Was a 4.5 star gym 1-2 years ago in terms of machines and equipment imo.

Negative experience: This is the pathetic gym ever i had been experienced. There pool is mostly closed due to maintenance or cleaning or sometimes for school. I had an injury because there was something in the pool and i got heavy bleeding due to that. From last 15 days going to pool is an headache. Today i called them to confirm the pool timings to avoid inconvenience and she said yeah it is open from 4pm to 9 pm and when i go there the pool was closed due to maintenance. 3 times in this month the suana room was also not working. There weight machine is also out of order from whole week and this is the second time in this month. I was using there stairs machine and it gets out of order and am on the machine and people over there help me to get out of it. Such a worst experience. Never suggest anyone to come here.

Fantastic experience: Genesis is one of the most cleanest and staff are soo energetic and supportive of their members. I met Sheree at the counter and she made feel so welcomed as I was nervous and almost backed out of coming in joining the gym as my experience at Freeway sports center was terrible with the staff. She walked me around the gym and introduced me to the instructor ls and I felt like a family member straight away. The gym is clean and staff are soo friendly and professional. Definitely one of the best gym and cleanest with an amazing energy as soon as you walk in.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS GYM! They do not care about their members! Make empty promises to get you to sign up and then don't follow through when you request the changes that were promised to you at sign up! Several emails are unanswered , phone calls ignored, requests made at reception ignored and no return calls for weeks! Forget about getting a straight answer from anyone! The information changes every time and no resolution is given! The manager is always "busy" and doesn't return phone calls! There are better and newer gyms with better and newer equipment nearby! Even gyms that offer unlimited reformer pilates classes for half the membership price! They only clean the gym once a day, so not great either! Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere as you will never be able to cancel and will continue to be charged despite making several cancellation requests!

Despite canceling my membership, they continue to charge me exorbitant fees. It's clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and have no regard for their members' well-being. If you're looking for a gym that values its members, I strongly recommend avoiding Genesis. Their greed and lack of empathy are unacceptable.

Despite my clear cancellation request and after I finished my agreement period, they have continued to charge me exorbitant fees. Negative experience: I recently had an unpleasant experience with the customer service team at Genesis Fitness. When I called and show up in person to address an issue, the representative who answered was notably rude and dismissive. To my surprise, this same representative was part of the so-called "complaint team." It’s hard to understand how someone with such a lack of professionalism could be in a position meant to handle complaints and compliments. I hope they address these concerns to improve their service in the future.

Negative experience: I was verbally advised at the time of signing up for my '3 month membership' that the membership automatically terminates after the 3 months. When I called up today to double check if my membership terminates this week or next week, they tell me that my '3 month membership' that I signed up for is actually an ongoing membership (with 3 months minimum) that I have to provide 30 days notice for cancellation. I have no issue with a policy of calling up to cancel with 30 days notice, but the straight up deception and lies at the time of signing up for my membership, so that they could scam me for another $200, is a big issue (my membership is $50 a week). I honestly enjoyed the Pilates and group classes they offer here, but the sneaky and deceptive management/contracts has ruined the experience. Please listen to other reviews and go to another gym with more integrity. I was going to come back here after getting back from overseas, but now I won't be.

Negative experience: Last time i remember signing up for 6 months membership, when i try to do cancellations it said i was in 18 months membership ? How did i missed that part while signing the form ? The staff said it’s not their fault and business saying thats what i signed up for . Rude and unprofessional, this place is trash small and smelly that’s why i stop coming its very messy unsupervised. FRAUD scam now i have to pay over 200$ for the cancellation fees and weekly fees . Im not surprised why so many people come and go majority all people talk about the same topics here . They never mention about 30days notice cancellation they told me and my friend we can cancel anytime after the membership ends with no charge , they only push us to sign in form , advice don’t come to this scam gym junk hole make u paying for a place

Negative experience: It's almost 3 months they didn't change a clock battery or to fixed .we mentioned more then 5 times. Poor management

Negative experience: I was in three months contract and while joining no one told me that you have to give notice after that period and after three months the payments automatically deducted i did not receive any mail about renew membership or any other mail i thought the money will not deducted after the contact and they said we dont give refunds the payments deducted 2nd of july and i called 3rd of july

Negative experience: They make weekly payments sound like the better and cheaper option, but in reality, it’s just a trap. DON’T FALL FOR IT!!! When I first applied, I wanted to pay for the whole year, but the staff told me the fortnightly plan was better and pushed me to make that choice. THEY WERE WRONG. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM OR THEIR “ADVICE”. This gym doesn’t want better for you. They only do what will benefit industry and KEEP THAT IN MIND. Plus, if you want to quit or pause your membership before your year finishes, you also have to pay A LOT (+$100) for it, WHICH THEY DID NOT MENTION WHEN I APPLIED. I don’t even use the gym, and I can’t afford to quit it. It makes it very hard when someone’s in a financially unstable situation while needing to look after a whole family- and I don’t even go there anymore. I will never recommend it to ANYONE, and when I decide to join a gym again in the future, it will definitely not be this one. A gym should be a place of relaxation and exercise- thanks for nothing but stress.

Negative experience: It was such a bad experience to join. I asked them about the hidden charges, and then they added up admin fees, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. On weekly payment $17 they detuct extra 15 on enquiry they said won't happen next without any reason made up some other excuse and top of that they claiming still you have some overdues left even after deduction of $120 in a month . The first month was $1 a day, and now it's the same old story you need to come up with. Pay $213 to cancel plus 30 days' notice. For real

Negative experience: Update 16 Jan 24 - Have had to put in a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Avoid if you do not want to be ripped off. Read below for my experience and some calculations. See reviews from other members who also have had bad experiences with memberships and cancellation. Sidenote: If you’re joining for the pools/sauna. That is only accessible during the day when most people are at work or school. In the afternoon they run swim classes for kids, so they block regular members from using that area, or its super weird. Most members who regularly use the facility are annoyed by this. My story. After being a member for a year, I was told by mike that it was cheaper to go on a weekly. It wasn’t. Made it sound like you get an extra week. You don’t. When you do weekly payment, a calendar month gets calculated as 4.3 weeks, so your always paying 3 days more. After doing some research the pricing turned out more expensive than other gyms in the area. For comparison. These guys charge 15.95 per week (12 months) or 13.95 per week (18 weeks). In comparison, Revo on princess highway is 9.69 (newer and cheaper) and XFC Noble Park is $299 for the year (so roughly $6.30, smaller but has most the equipment’s) . Knowing the above info, I cancelled within the cooling off period, this was 2 months ago! They still haven’t processed my refund, which pretty sure is 100% illegal. They kept blaming the debiting company, but it doesn’t take 2-3 months to clear a refund. Still fighting them to process my refund. Join at your own peril Reply to the owner response: Yeah that’s fine and I'm just better informing the public in plain English what they are paying. Is the pool and sauna fully usable during 4-7pm Mon-fri weekdays? being 'accessible' isn't the same as being 'usable' Which is when most members will use it, because there’s literally signs on the change room doors stating otherwise. That’s incorrect, the email mentioned 10-20 business days from the refund confirmation email: 14th of November 2023. So that means the 20th business day was December 12 /13, that’s still before any official holiday started. There still hasn’t been any email confirming this. Once again it doesn’t take 2 months for a refund to come through, unless its not purposely not actioned

Positive experience: So far so good. Loved the ladies area as that's what I mostly use. Just one concern, I didn't know kids are allowed on the gym floor? Using the equipments etc. As it's a ladies only area.. boys shouldn't be allowed in there. That's the whole point of the ladies section I guess? Besides that pretty good gym.

Negative experience: Used to be a good gym until new owners and management came into place. Very disappointed with main manager who doesn’t care about members and lies to protect himself. He yells at members rather than come to solutions and very unprofessional approach. You can see from other reviews - they only care about the money here. Quite sad. I hope they can resolve this or just start by getting a new manager in place.

Negative experience: I come today for a free trial pass before decide to get yearly membership. But the staff gave the 6 weeks for $1/w as a much better deal. Then i have a tour. Before he tells me that i need to sign the yearly membership to get this 6 weeks deal. He said i will save lot of money with this deal. I only wanna get the free trial first. He said if i pick the trial, i will not get the first 6 for $1/w. Lastly, he can only give me 1 day trial. On the genesis website is still showing 5 day free trial pass. Not sure what is going on here. But i feel wasting my time with this staff and sth wrong. Hope owner can see my review.

Fantastic experience: I was into losing weight and managing pain, they have great set of treadmills, cycles, step machines... also there is a terrific physiologist, Deanna, who provides bmi scans and lot more, there are massage therapists, and also certified personal trainers!!! I lost almost 6kg in 6 months and improved on muscle mass with guidance from Deanna, looking forward to better health and well-being at Genesis Dandenong!!

They do not care about their customers, the only thing that they care about money. I've visited 6-7 time personally to cancel, every time they are talking that because of system error or manager is not available. I'm tired to say them again and again that I want to cancel my membership.Worst worst experience I had from this gym and staff members. And they took money my account was hacked overdue once then they call again and again and they charge for the overdue amount as well I don’t recommend anyone to go to this gym or be the part of it

Negative experience: The new owner and management are such money hungry they do not care about members. I had to follow up an issue for a week to avoid the wrong directdebit and they failed to complete the admin task. When I spoke to the manager he said they have so many members to service they can't get back to me. I was overcharged i have called head office 3 times and no one has got back to me , the staff are literally teenagers with no knowledge and the manager has no accountability for errors, pathetic!
