Positive experience: Please for the love of all things good have staff monitor the parking lot! People cannot park and block off exits or shut me in so I can’t reverse out of the car spaces. It’s really really bad Staff is friendly and nice though

Fantastic experience: Great equipment overall. Some machines need to be repaired, though. The new, tall guy at the entrance is very welcoming and friendly, unlike the other staff members from previous weeks who seemed more interested in chatting with each other than doing their jobs.

Negative experience: A decent gym if anything got fixed within a 3 month time frame. $149 gym membership (plus admin) to a $449 (plus admin) gym membership in under 4 months??!!!. Sure if Seaford meadows had any of the extras offered at other Derrimut's maybe but nothing, not even the foyer is stocked it's empty. No one cares about the Elizabeth gym bro look after your og gyms, to the people already paying.

Fantastic experience: This is one of my favourite locations. I used to go to the rundle mall location a lot more but prefer Norwood. There is lots of equipment, the women’s only gym is bigger and people here are so polite and friendly.

Positive experience: Great gym in regards of the equipment Price is extremely cheap for what you get, therefore, it’s understandable that the equipment is not brand new. At the end of the day, they just need to do the job and they do that well! Biggest downside and unfortunately is a big one, is the kind of people who attend this gym (of course not everyone). No manners, cave people, dirty, gym heroes (not sure why you need to take your shirt off in front of the mirror? you can do that at home), using multiple equipments at ones for what reason? so you don’t need to wait? what about the other users?, seating on your phone on a machine without using it?, a lot of people don’t use the towel, 0 respect to other humans. It’s not hard to look at yourself and realise that maybe you should learn how to behave in public and be humble. You are not alone on this planet

Fantastic experience: Gym is amazing. I just wish they had like a public playlist that people could add their fav music to. But it's awesome nonetheless! Very affordable if you get their specials as it comes to like $3-$6/week. Opened 24/7.

Positive experience: Great gym to train in. We train at night (20h00) and the staff is very friendly. The only Derrimut gym in our area where the staff great you upon arrival and leaving. It would have been 5 stars if it were not for the bathroom facilities (area).

Negative experience: Probably one of the best equiped Derrimut gyms in SA, however it is let down by old, damaged and dirty equipment that has been that way for many weeks now. The mens changing rooms are absolutely disgusting more times than not, which sadly is more of a reflection of the people that use them and not the cleaners maintaining them.

Fantastic experience: My opinion has kinda changed, used to think it was like 3.5 stars, but now it’s more like 4-5 stars, it’s good cuz it has staff all the time, it’s generally not too busy (unless you go at 5:00-6:00) and there are heaps of machines, including cables and lots of attachments. There’s also a section with lots of benches with a dumbbell rack that goes from 5-70kgs. All of the equipment is mostly hammer strength and life fitness, but there are 2 cybex hack squats. I do have some nitpicks though because some of the machines, especially the life fitness ones are a bit rusty in the stack, so it’s hard to put the pin in and some (most) of the knob weight adjustments are either pulled off, the weight thing is gone or are rusty and can’t move. Also I think there should be some higher end machines like the plate loaded prime row (kinda just think they’re cool) which aren’t too expensive (I guess)

Positive experience: The good - the equipment is decent, everything is clean, good value for money. The bad - music too loud, i've had to walk out a couple of times. Often too busy so can't use equipment. Parking sometimes difficult.

Positive experience: Great value, and good range of quality equipment. This location has some nice extra's including boxing ring and bags, sauna, posing mirrors in bathroom, and private ladies only section. Popular location, so break-up your workouts if you plan on going during peak hours.

Fantastic experience: I joined Derimutt Gym Norwood, and I am thoroughly impressed with the experience. The facility is big and well-maintained, with top-notch equipment and a clean, welcoming environment. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to offer guidance and support. Positive experience: I have always used this gym while travelling due to the range of high quality equipment. I’ve always been happy to spend the drop in fee of $20, even though a week membership is $4.95 (with a ridiculous set up fee). After spending upwards of $100 in drop ins over the past week, shortly into my workout on Friday the fire alarm went off cutting it short and me leaving. I went back the following Monday and was disappointed in being told that I was unable to carry forward my interrupted workout. Id give this place 5 stars for the great equipment for a gym, however the customer service is lacking which really sucks because i have always loved this gym. Edit: while apparently thrilled about my feedback, the gym did nothing to rectify the situation. A replacement drop in visit means nothing to them in the scheme of things but was not offered. While I’m keeping my original 3 star review to honor their equipment, I will sooner chose another gym with better customer service to visit in my travels.

Negative experience: I got into the gym today around 10am to renew my membership. I don’t know why this derrimut Norwood staff ( the dark hair girl because there were 2 girls at that time) was having a weird attitude to me? I think you guys need to have a better attitude. Worst Derrimut ever. Never coming back here to train again.

Negative experience: A Gym for the frugal gym goer. It would be 3 stars if not for the unbelievably loud music. When asked about it, they mention it varies by workers. What a joke. To play music so loud, my noise cancelling head phones aren’t enough. It’s simply but they decide to do nothing about it. Otherwise, hardly anyone wipes equipment after using, staff seems more interested in their phones than people, and it oozes “Highschool cool” mentality and clique. Got my own at home gym because I realize now how depressing places like this can make you. Never again.

Negative experience: Dont fall for their promos. The gym is un organised, the weights are scattered here n there, almost no one reracks the weight when they’re done, many machines are out of order (not functioning), went there specially for the sauna as all the branches dont have one, and guess what? The sauna was out of order too. Asked at the reception when is it going to be ready to use again, she was like, ummm maybe 2 more weeks, (also said its not working from last two week!) so about 4 weeks of no sauna. The gym is cheap and the locations are good. But yea they dont look after basic stuff. Think twice before joining. Hope this review helps you to make the correct decision.

Negative experience: This fitness gym left much to be desired. The space felt suffocating, with not enough room to move freely, and the machines were cramped, making it uncomfortable for everyone. It's not an ideal environment, and I wouldn't consider returning. The gym desperately needs to upgrade its space to accommodate its members properly. Don't even get me started on the parking situation—it's a nightmare. Finding a spot nearby is nearly impossible, adding frustration to an already unpleasant experience. I felt rushed during my workouts, and I'd much rather go to a different location where I can exercise in a more comfortable and relaxed environment.

Positive experience: Lovely staff, plenty machines to train with. The only downside is sometimes it can take a while to find a parking space, it easier to find something between 4:00 - 5:00 am but there aren’t many available between 15-18 pm.

Positive experience: Good equipment and gym. However music is always so load that you just want to leave after a short time. Always asking staff to turn music down. Still months later after this review have staff that crank the music so loud and when you ask kindly to please turn music down you get an angry look. It’s a gym not a rave party.

Positive experience: Cheap gym, with good equipment, 24/7 access with access to a sauna. Unfortunately, you pay the discounted price for staff to ignore you unless you wait or acknowledge them first. And, to put away gym users' weights. Sadly, even the staff don't put their own weights away. The culture isn't nice, but I will cope with it for the convenience of a cheap and accessible gym.

Fantastic experience: Love that the gym has a ladies only section. It is fully equipped which means I don’t have to leave the ladies section to use other equipment from the main gym! Main gym is also great but prefer to stick to the ladies only bit.

Negative experience: Never purchase meals from this or any other branch. Meals are half cooked. Many equipments are not working. No gym parking. Abusive language used by gym members and no action taken by management. Low price equals low value has been proved right here .

Negative experience: I recently moved rural so could no longer attend the gym. I wasn't anywhere near the city so I emailed to cancel my membership only to be told they were too busy and it would take too long for them to do it! Well 6 weeks later I finally get to the gym to do it in person and I'm told there's a 4 week cooling off period, the guy that cancelled it couldn't care less about my situation and I essentially paid for 10 weeks for no reason. Be very very careful with this place, read the fine print before signing anything!

Fantastic experience: Best Derrimut in Adelaide for a few valid reasons! - best lighting in the main area of any derrimut - heaps of room for compound movements, hammer strength squat cages toward the end and support beams in the middle of the gym which also help for calisthenics - massive dumbbell rack up to 70kg - good variety of machines pin and plate loaded and the best 2 parts of this gym; THE CULTURE, the people here are honestly the best gym enjoyers in all of Adelaide, and I’ve been to pretty much every gym, made the most friends at this gym THE SAUNA, best derrimut sauna in adelaide hands down and the people here make it that much better Definitely worth signing up for this gym, cheap sign up fee, so much value and so much motivation so much potential! Special thanks to Will, Theodora, Mcckenzie and Oscar for always being a brilliant help to me at the counter in my training hours!

Negative experience: It's been 5 months I have been going to this gym and the staff is excellent always, there was sometimes when I found staff looking frustrated but I have ignored it. But today it was so out of limits and I have to write this review. I was scanning the cards for myself and my partner, scanned the first card, scanner said ok but the gate dint open for her, I scanned again and again, same thing. So I scanned the other card, and the gate opened. At this point the woman yelled at me saying 'hey scan YOUR card now' and I said I have 2 cards, I am not doing anything against your rules, even the other staff member said to her that they have 2 cards but she didn't listen and checked their screen and asked me to scan the card again and in all her sentences there was no politeness. Disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Been training @ Derrimut Norwood from way back, been through all the upgrades and reno's and it's still home for me. Negative experience: I usually have really good experiences at this gym and most of the staff are really friendly but recently there was one worker who was quite rude towards me. I was trying to get in the gym by scanning my card and it wasn’t working. The girl at the counter whispered something under her breath then proceeded to say she would help me get in. She looked on the computer to see what the issue with my card was. Turns out a month prior I bought a hoodie on sale and the transaction hadn’t gone through. Nobody had notified me that it hadn’t gone through and I have been going to the gym a lot since I bought the hoodie. I immediately wanted to pay for it obviously but I also wanted to check my transactions to make sure it hadn’t gone through on my end too. Then she said in a really rude tone “I’m not gonna let you in the gym until you pay for it.” As if I wasn’t going to pay for it.

Fantastic experience: A huge thank you to Loretta , I’ve been attending Derrimut’s for the past three years ? And it is So rare to hear real music, anything aside from techno and all the other jazz the kids nowadays ,call music… my Coachella was tantalised with the musical treats known as rock ‘n’ roll , grunge and some metal too… ranging from some funky classics from the 90/2000’s such as the Chili Peppers , foo fighters & Alice in chains even dabbling back into some of heavy metals origins with some Black Sabbath and Metallica! I am super grateful as good taste of music does not go under appreciated! Looking forward to more diversity from their music selection!

Negative experience: For a gym that makes 15.7 million dollars a year across the country, it is absolutely despicable that it has been 10 days and the treadmills in the ladies gym have been out of order. You tell us we can’t scan in with our phones anymore yet you cannot provide us with simple equipment. Why should we abide by your rules when you can’t abide by ours, the paying customers? The ones who are actually supporting your business??? Please tell me what is the point of even having a ladies gym??? Today I see another 4 of the treadmills but in the main cardio section out of order. You take our hard earned money and can’t provide us with simple cardio machine. Don’t waste your time with signing up. Spend a bit more money and go to Ryder Wear or Revo. I’m sure they place some sort of value on their members.

Positive experience: Not a perfect gym but it’s home to me. I’ve been going to this consistently for nearly the last year I can say I have gotten attached to some of its quirks. And the recent (mid 2023) renovations have improved the gyms offerings significantly. However the there are certain issues with some staff, with some exceptions like James who works the overnight shift James is great and is always pleasant to interact with and leaves the gym clean and tidy ready for the next day. I can’t say the same for the other overnight staff who leave the gym looking like it had a bomb go off inside. I can’t attest to any other Day staff as I only really interact with the night crew as I only exercise early in the morning. Overall great Gym but they should look at improving the quality of customer service from some of their staff.

Positive experience: Good gym for its area as there are not many options. Pricing is excellent and you get access to the derrimuts chain. They have upgraded a number of times which is great considering the gym gets quite at capacity Mon-Tuesday nights especially. -Parking is atrocious. It doesn’t help the gym barricades parks off in their tiny carpark for certain businesses. -Frayed Cables - the cables on a lot of the machines are frayed to where the metal strands are starting to become damaged. This is extremely dangerous as they can snap. -Inconsistent machines: mainly with the new second hand cables they brought it. They are in lbs. other cables have different pulley systems due to different brands and the consistency is not there. Not great for progressive overload. -There is a lack of cable equipment and the ones you do find have no grip so you’re scrunching on metal… -The plates in the gym are a mixture and the rubber is starting to come off a few of them. -Theres all this useless equipment when clearly most the gym floor wants benches. The gym needs more freeweight benches. -There is not a great selection of calf machines. There is one seated and one standing. Yes you can train the gastrocnemius other ways but it would be great if the gym could get more seated machines to target the soleus. -There is limited room for lunges - ab workouts. Where has the iconic green Derrimuts turf gone? -Front staff often do not greet you. There are a few that do and the one that stands out is the girl with blonde hair <- others should learn from her. Some big positives for this gym: +Size +Cost +Many Racks and platforms Please take this criticism as feedback and not malicious. I hope to see more improvements and care for this gym!

Negative experience: Love the equipment at this gym but am so glad my membership runs out soon. Never felt so judged in my life when walking in. The girls at the front desk honestly make me feel so uncomfortable for no reason, the gym would actually be better if no one was at the desk. Why work a job where you are required to greet people but only crack a smile at your select few mates? Happy to never deal with this place again.

Negative experience: A few of the staff have a good attitude, but some of them have the worst attitude of any gym I have been to... Also the zipper jumper I purchased began heavily 'pilling' shortly after I bought it. I am not fussy with clothing, but it is now unwearable. Rubbish quality and customer service. No accountability about from head office, I was brushed off with a mediocre discount to buy another, and then completely ignored. In saying that there is a great selection of equipment. But all in all I wouldn't recommend going to Derrimut's and definitely not recommending buying their apparel.

Positive experience: Good enough gym, but the cost of a casual visit leapt up during this year by 33%. Did the amount of gym equipment increase by 33%? No. Did the staff wages go up by 33%? No. Did the franchisee get more hungry for extra profits? Probably. So for what reason could anyone justify increasing the cost of essentially the same product by such a high percentage in one go? Why would the price suddenly escalate so much for the cost of a casual visit?

Fantastic experience: Great gym. I’m so grateful the colour of some equipment is red unlike the other gyms the atmosphere is not dull with blue and grey colours all over. Staff are nice, I’m just happy they don’t greet me as I go there pretty much everyday , wouldn’t want to chat every time In the summer they need to turn the AC on though, it gets warm. Other than that pretty decent and energetic atmosphere.

Negative experience: Great gym, nice machines, very friendly staff but the music is way too loud! High energy music pumping on high volumes. Other then not being good for the ears, it makes it really hard to listen to your own music, to a podcast or to enjoy the music itself! I brought in 3 friends on different times & they all had the same feedback about the loudness of music & ended up not signing up. I understand the reason behind it being a gym & some people may like it this way, but I think someone from the management should look into it & maybe set some reasonable volume levels, inclusive to all tastes & styles.

Positive experience: Generally very pleasant, inexpensive and large gym in convenient location and open 24 hours. Somewhat DISORGANISED and SLOW to ACTION complaints. I advised staff two months ago that batteries on Row Ergs were running flat. Apparently requests were put to management, however not actioned. This morning I was not able to do my 5km timed rowing workout as the batteries were completely flat. I decided to purchase a pair of batteries for them this afternoon. Bulk of equipment is old and numerous “out of order signs” on various equipment. Otherwise I enjoy training here regularly.

Positive experience: Huge gym. Great amount of machines in the main room. I'm slowly becoming a 'gym' person! Not much attention given to the Ladies Room though with machines out of order for more than a month, more broken that the staff didn't know about until we told them (that had been broken for more than 2 weeks) and no padding on a lot of the changeable handles.

Positive experience: Not a bad place, decent equipment, low prices, lots of experienced guys training, and some stuff they don't have at other Derrimuts Points off for absolutely awful parking availability and not enough pulldown stations, looks like the cable machines (and bathrooms) were just shoved in as an afterthought

Fantastic experience: Spacious gym with really good equipments. Great vibe and friendly staff.
Negative experience: Imagine, you walk in, first time visiting the derro-mutts gym. The guy and girl behind the counter are too scared to actually interact, so they charge you $15 entry and tell you to use the 2nd gate for entrance to the gym. You'd think (as I did tell them it was my first time checking this gym out), that they'd be more than excited to show me around the gym, and make a sale. Instead they are too busy being useless and doing sweet nothing. Pathetic.
Fantastic experience: I have joined the club for 2 years. This is my first time to visit this branch. The staff is surprisingly helpful and friendly. This is a very big gym with lots of great equipments also is a wheelchair accessible place! There is sauna room. People train hard here and strong like beasts! Highly recommended!!!
Positive experience: Someone needs to fire whoever is in control of the playlist, otherwise it’s a good place.

Positive experience: Honestly great gym overall but I have a big issue with the music there. It is way too loud and takes your focus away .I dont see the point because most of members have headphones. Some people just need a more relax atmosphere in their training.

Positive experience: 24/7 gym makes it good to go whenever you need to workout. The staff are fine and usually you won't need to interact with them but when you do they are pretty good. Overall, the gym isn't too crowded and there is normally enough machines to go around.
