Negative experience: Will miss the gorgeous view from the gym’s balcony and the convenience of parking at Westfield Everything else I will not miss at all. The unfriendly reception team, the filthy change rooms and toilet paper everywhere in the toilets. I won’t miss the steam room that has been out of order for almost a year or people that leave their trash in lockers. I also won’t miss the entitled personal trainers that think it is OK to block multiple pieces of equipment and their passive agressive behaviour. This could have been the best gym in town with world class views and perfect location. Instead, through poor management and upkeep, it is an absolute disappointment. PS. Added a couple of photos to illustrate not just how insufficient the cleaning is, but mostly the indifference of management (if such management exists)

Negative experience: I signed up for this gym a week ago and clearly explained my requirements for a three-month membership. Instead, I was given an 18-month contract without a detailed explanation of all the fees I would incur. The information provided in person was inconsistent with what was stated on their website. It honestly felt like a scam designed to earn commissions by trapping customers into paying more than they intended. I decided to cancel my subscription within the cancellation period, but it took four emails, three calls, and two visits to the center before my cancellation was finally processed. I felt scammed by the team, which was useless and seemed to be waiting for my trial period to end to avoid my cancellation request. And this is not the first time I hear this. I know people that they cancelled their subscription months ago and they did nothing to keep receiving money from them. I strongly recommend looking for another gym. It appears that their focus is solely on profit rather than caring for your members. Shame.

Fantastic experience: Pity about the closure in Jan 2025. I've enjoyed the club for about 20 years. Current Club manager, Sam, has always been helpful and I have the feeling he really cares about members, me included and I'll happily stay until they close down in Jan.

Positive experience: It is a Beautiful place but most of the time is overcrowded, they should do something to regulate the amount of people, queuing all the time to use the equipment ruins your training experience.

Negative experience: A place where they steal your things in the bathroom (obviously you can't see the culprit as there are no cameras, but at the exit there are) and no one is ready to help! Unfortunate..

Negative experience: I was at the Fitness First Platinum Westfield Bondi Juction gym, around 8:45am and I kept my things, jacket with passport, credit card, house keys, when I came back around 9:50am my things were no longer there and they still left a garbage in place. I went to the reception and two employees were not at all receptive, right away they said they couldn't do anything because there are no cameras in the bathroom and if I wanted to, I would have to call a number to try to appeal, but right away there was nothing to do or They gave me this number. My native English-speaking flatmate called and spoke to the manager and that I should come back with the police report, so I did, I spoke to the police officer and he said he would open an investigation and go to the gym to check with the manager but in these cases There's not much that can be done, I went back to the gym, the manager was working out so I spoke to another employee, asked to write a letter with the information and only then did the manager appear, and said that there's nothing to do because there are no cameras, but he said If they “return” it, they will contact me. Ps: I had my passport with me because I was going to sort out some things after there. I swiped the card to lock the door but didn't check if it was actually locked. Besides, almost all the cabinets are defective in almost all units. I had a very frustrating day today. — feeling annoyed at Fitness First Bondi Spring St Platinum.

Fantastic experience: Gonna absolutely miss seeing primed toes with fine faces to match. They might of let the place turn into a 3rd world country but what I won't stand for is slandering of hot sexy people who look after themselves in this gym. You call them arrogant! And say they are up themselves blah blah blah.But you just need to work harder! I grew up in a small town full of ugly out of shape people who all suffer from tall Poppy syndrome and that my friends is a true horror to be in. I will never surrounded myself with ugly people again, because they are literally the worst. I'm hardly successful myself and look like a strong 6/10 but I enjoy being around hot successful vapid people and pretend to be one of them and talk fake business, they think they are talking real business but I'm doing fake business. I pretend I'm a very successful realestate agent who manages some of Sydneys best realestate. The key is to lie and be good at it, then you can beguile them into your rented but of course you say owned apartment. I hope all you hot people find another refuge soon. And always remember you are better then most ordinary people.❤️

Negative experience: The deadest gym, with probably the worst gym equipment I’ve ever seen! Staff to match. The attitude of the entire place is god awful. No wonder they couldn’t match the bid for the contract renewal, no one wants to go there because of how bad it is. Good riddance to garbage is what I say. Bring on the brand new replacement that will take Fitness Firsts place once they close down here for good

Negative experience: I hate to leave negative feedback, but I have to say this gym is a complete disaster. Not only are the changing rooms and bathroom in terrible condition, but the training area is also a mess most of the time. There are weights scattered on the floor, equipment not being put back, and used wipes left by the machines. It's such a shame to see so much disregard for others. I've been to many gyms, and this one is by far the worst. The staff really needs to step up and enforce some rules.

Fantastic experience: Loving reform pilates here on a Thursday 5:30pm with the amazing Patty Katts! Loving it even more now the air conditioning in the reform studio has been fixed, thanks to the club manager Sam Webber for sorting it so quickly! It's so much better to train in there now it's not unpleasantly cold and a good warmer temperature. Thank you!

Negative experience: I was very grateful to be given a free trial at this gym today greeted by a nice gentleman at the counter who assisted me. And then I proceeded to train. while the views overlooking Sydney were immaculate on a beautiful day, to my disappointment that was the only highlight . Several observations I have made doing my time today cleanliness, cluttering and culture. For this being a platinum gym the cleanliness was appalling machines seemed very deteriorated and needs to be refurbished immediately, in fact the whole gym needs to be heavily refurbished. Sanitisation stations were literally non existent. The the placement of the machines were not given proper taught as they were poorly located and cluttering. Weights were literally scattered on the floor. Rack catches for the ez bars were broken leaving the risk of weights easily rolling of and falling. Dumbbells were scattered on the ground resulting in an occupational health and safety. Plates were not put in its proper position finding a particular weight plate proved be a challenge as nothing was put in its proper position. I was assured that the gym gets clean and organized at the end of the day but it could suggest a poor culture demonstrated amongst the members of the gym. And it may be true by making an observation on how members interacted at the gym no one seemed to care about putting the weights back when done. The critical rating mainly goes to all these factors and for the price of membership, you need to be wise to consider that Revo in Pitt St whilst smaller, is a better investment. Kindly consider these points for future development

Negative experience: This gym is an embarrassment for fitness first. The ceiling of the group training room is literally falling apart, with what looks like mold, big holes etc. Not the most relaxing environment when trying to do yoga. The steam room is constantly closed, to the point you think they're sticking up the "out of order sign" on there to save on electricity. Super busy most day, dirty, and really a sad gym. No surprise most people switch to Virgin active next door.

Negative experience: Bathrooms are disgusting, virtual cycling class is cold AF, and tablet/screen breaks regularly. Last time it took 4 months for them to fix it. If they offered classes to cover, fine, but not even.

Negative experience: Somehow they think they can operate outside the realm of Australian law and freeze a membership instead of cancelling it without consent from the member? I’d encourage anyone else who has had this happen to escalate this to the legal system and bypass their employees because the staff at Bondi platinum are seemingly getting paid to do nothing.

Negative experience: I have a contract for $25.19 each week, Pilates includes ( I have pictures of the contract, chats, everything). FITNESSFIRST has been charging $49.99 weekly and they are doing nothing with my complaints. I not recommend them, no fear business.

Negative experience: The gym and equipment are acceptable but their standards are so low on cleanliness and maintenance. Change rooms are either really dusty or mouldy. Floor leaks endlessly despite closing for maintenance multiple times. I have had to wade through dirty water on more than one occasion, it's hard to believe I wish I had a video. Steam room closed for 2 months straight and when it reopens its often not operating for various reasons so you can't rely on it.

Negative experience: You can easily point many things that can be improved at this place, from friendlier front desk staff, better equipment (especially missing parts), to Apple Wallet integration, higher energy music… BUT no other gym close by can really beat the high ceilings and the beautiful view. You can see outside from most spots in the gym, which for me makes a big difference vs being underground. At least for now, this outweighs the rest of the issues they have. Hope management improves over the next period.

Negative experience: For the past four months, I have been experiencing difficulties reaching FF Bondi Junction Platinum via phone. Despite multiple attempts throughout the day, my calls have gone unanswered. Upon visiting the gym in person, I discovered that the phone's ring volume was either switched off or set to a low level. This situation appears to be a deliberate tactic to avoid answering calls. I raised this issue with the manager two weeks ago, who assured me that action would be taken. However, upon subsequent attempts to contact the gym, the same problem persists - calls are not being answered. I now have to resort to a google review and hope some action is taken. I frequent various FF gyms in the east and have not encountered this issue at any other location. It is evident that a change in management is necessary, and FF should consider hiring individuals who are willing to provide proper service. This behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on FF reputation.

Fantastic experience: Did a few sessions in here. Excellent facilities. Changing rooms were clean and loads of space in the gym area, with a beautiful view out the back. There was a nice mix of machines, free weights/racks, and cardio equipment. Aaron helped me out massively and went above and beyond for anything I looked for. Would recommend.

Negative experience: Diabolical. Management is clearly non existent here. There are some misogynistic male members who think they can bully women off gym equipment. Went to great lengths to get my membership cancelled and was only done so when I threatened to go to a trading authority. The changing rooms are catastrophic, soap dispensers, toilet seats, all detached. Hair everywhere and I noticed the same bin had not been changed over days. The view from the outside workout area overlooking Sydney harbour is the only redeeming factor and the only reason I haven’t given 1 star.

Negative experience: One of the worst managed gyms I’ve ever seen, I lasted around 2-3 days here before attempting to cancel. They then didn’t even cancel correct so tried to keep taking the money saying I haven’t cancelled despite me showing the phone call log/ various emails. Once they have you signed up they will just ignore any help you need. Avoid way better gyms nearby!

Fantastic experience: My experiences with Sam (club manager) were nothing but positive. he is very friendly , professional for all what he does, he always available to help even at time he was very busy . I have been trying FF branches ( park st and parramatta ) obtaining an offical record/letter of my membership with little success and frustrations . Michael did it for me within a very short time without any problems .. he is a great ambassador and a great asset for the FF brands . he is a role model for other club managers to follow . Negative experience: A little disappointed with this club. Firstly, when I went in for a tour, I asked them if the studio is always this busy (almost every single machine being used, and some people putting towels over the next machine to block others).. and my guide said no… I am on the spectrum and can’t handle a whole lot of people… I informed the man of the medical stuff and he said he would give me a pass so I could come into BOTH this location and across the street after hours. I only found out this was a lie after I went over at around close time and the girl said someone would never promise that, Said I was simply confused. I asked to speak to him, and she said he was on exams (and conveniently wouldn’t be back until after my “cooling off period”) I came back weeks later at what’s labeled the slowest time of the day on google to find the same thing. I asked the girl at the counter and she proudly stated “this is the busiest studio in all of sydney”… which it clearly is because it’s nearly impossible to do a full routine of legs without someone asking you if you are almost done after being on it for less than 2 minutes. I tried out the 24 hour across the street, as they said it’s more “exclusive” and not everyone gets access. Basically what is happening is people all come just before the desk closes and then stays after hours anyway.. When I left because I couldn’t get more than 1 machine per 20 min of waiting … I went to the front door to find 6 people waiting for someone to leave so they could do after hours. The 24 hour gym also has missing pins on most of the weights so you have to wait for someone to not use a machine to steal the pin for your own use elsewhere. A lot of the cleaning areas are broken and don’t have any paper towel or spray. Thus nobody is washing their machines after use. They give great deals on prices! But it’s so overcrowded it’s uncomfortable to use… they seem to be more about selling than providing a good experience. Warning: get them to write down in full sentences all they promise for contact, and be prepared to really only be able to use cardio machines. This place on paper looks great, and they do have a decent selection of machines….. it’s just supremely over populated. Try a week for free and see how you feel about it.

Fantastic experience: Fitness First Bondi is an amazing gym! It's got everything you need to get fit and have a blast. The trainers are super helpful and the facilities are top-notch. Plus, it's conveniently located in Westfield Bondi Junction, so you can do some shopping or grab a bite to eat after your workout. It's the perfect place to break a sweat and then treat yourself! ️

Negative experience: Awful experience. I was told I would get a referral bonus when I got a friend join the gym, but it never happened. They kept saying it needs to go through management, but 4 weeks passed and nothing happened. When I asked, they kept making exuses that the manager is in a meeting or the system is down. On top of that, they charged my bank account extra fees for their mistakes - luckily, I managed to succesfully dispute these and get the money back. I then cancelled my subscription by sending an email, as they asked me to, but they also forgot to register thay so I had to call them again and ask to end it - they said it would take another 30 days to end, which I said was not my fault as I emailed ages ago, and that iy was already supposed to end. Besides, the gym is very dirty, and lacks equipement. I changed to Anytime fitness around the corner.

Fantastic experience: My first choice for local Gym around bondi. Due to hours and parking and steam room and extreme value for money. Yes the change rooms are often messy, yes there are wait times for equipment at peak times, but hey - the roads in Sydney are busy at peak times that’s why I avoid those times. Show me another gym with views like this, from an outdoor area, Nope doesn’t exist. Show me a big well equipped gym with steam Sauna, rooftop parking right outside, open till 10pm? Nope doesn’t exist. And for 20-30bucks a week, are you kidding.. This place is a great value asset to the community, I’ve been going here on and off for over 10years. Please spend less time complaining and more time lifting. That said I do wish the platinum subscription would be expanded as I would happily pay for nicer change rooms.

Negative experience: Busiest gym I've ever visited. In the morning peak, there isn't one bench, one cable or one machine available. And the ones that are, are defective or broken. Impossible to have an efficient workout when you spend more time looking for an available spot than training. Staff was friendly.

Negative experience: I signed up for a 4-month ago fitness membership. Since I'm a student and might move to a different place, I chose the monthly, more expensive option for easy cancellation. A week ago, I had to move and paused the membership, but Fitness First charged me around $20 for it. Now, in my new area, there's no Fitness First, and when I tried to cancel, they're asking for a 4-week payment. Why did I opt for the pricey package if I have to pay a cancellation fee now? Sharing this frustration for everyone to know.

Negative experience: Probaly the worst gym I have ever been in. Way to busy any time of the day. No staff taking care of equipment so everything is broken or unorganised. If you leave what you’re doing for 2 minutes someone steals it. Some other fitness firsts are good and have good facilities, but do not bother with bondi junction it would literally turn you off the gym all together.

Negative experience: This gym is the most unsanitary fitness first I have ever been to. They do not clean this place. One of my mates once found one of his wrist supports a couple of weeks after he had lost it which proves this point. The showers are also full of drain flys and smell disgusting. Something needs to be done in terms of the cleaning. There is often broken equipment which is left broken for multiple weeks. Such a shame as the location of this gym is fantastic, with lots of natural light and an outdoor section on the balcony.

Negative experience: Got charged a $10 penalty for late payment because staff put my bank details in incorrectly even though I had to go back 3 times to fix it (eventually I had to do it online myself). Equipment is old/broken/not enough to accommodate for how busy it always is. The bathrooms are always filthy (and smells awful) and often male staff in female change rooms which is quite inconvenient. Poor quality service at front desk most of the time, and phones are never answered. :( Pilates classes are nice though.

Fantastic experience: I want to give the 5 stars to manager whom helping me solved the problem with male client in the steam room. problem: I was in the shared steam room with males and then male customer complained me that I can not press the blue button to start the sauna because he was too hot. So I told him that I have the right to do it and if you are hot just sit outside, shower, and come back. But he did not stop to complaint me and tried to ask the clients in the room if they are hot. He still talk back that clients left the room and went to shower because the room is too hot. So I noticed him three times by saying “please be nice to me”. Finally, I went to discuss this problem with the manager that he can not tell me what I can do or can not do it because I didn’t break any rule. Moreover, I don’t want he direct complain at me because any his problem need to inform the staff.

Negative experience: Visited few FF in Sydney and this one is clearly the worst . Hygiene disgusting in the lockers (love the mountains of towels close to the entry) never seen someone cleaning , few showers are broken so people are waiting .. and cherry on the cake, some of the young age PT .. congratulations, laughing on the backs on some clients, spending more time to look after girls !! Negative experience: Girls walk around in socks, gym is littered with young teenagers who sit on their phones playing games, half the equipment is broken, the roof is always leaking on your head, bathrooms are nasty, lockers are broken. Negative experience: [Updated in Nov-23] Cleaning is non-existent, notably in the change rooms. Bugs infested the shower areas, drains were uncovered, covered in dust and/or rusted through, some showers also weren't in operation. Locker area was filthy, rubbish across the floor, locker doors broken and mirrors cracked and/or damaged. The toilets were abhorrent with toilet paper all throughout, walls peeling off and toilet bowls not cleaned. The steam room was horrid with a rotten smell and lukewarm temperature. Contact with the club several months ago has led to no improvement at all and customer service from the club manager was well below average on all occasions. Avoid this club at all costs. UPDATE - Added additional photos from Nov-23 (spoiler alert - it's still just as bad)

Negative experience: The only reason they will reply to a call about membership cancellation after they ghost you for months insisting to send emails to them and their manager will be in contact after all I wanted to do was pay out 3 weeks and cancel my month to month is when you take matters into your own hand and block your card from them. After phone calls of different staff giving me different emails to send through my request I feel like nobody has any idea what the procedure is for someone who has every legal right to cancel a membership and should be able to do it on the spot and not have it go on for months. I’ve given up and with no response I felt like it was my only option and now they are replying because I’ve blocked my card and they cant steal any more money off me. I don’t know what the system is here but either a manager that responds and can process cancellations or having staff trained to be able to do this should be in place. It’s been months I’ve moved on you wouldn’t help me cancel so now leave me alone!! Just be careful they try and hold onto you and put off cancelling you as long as possible I don’t want to pay any more money and when I called my bank to cancel my card they said this happens all the time with fitness first. TERRIBLE and so stressful never again.

Negative experience: Good price, but too many members for the equipment available. Best part is the wonderful view from the treadmill area. Worst part is thr struggle to find available weight-training equipment, even at times that could be considered off-peak. There is even a shortage of weight plates, particularly the 5kg and 2kg Much of weight-training equipment is also worn and shonky.

Negative experience: Very poor experience signing up as I wasn’t given an explanation of what was included and what wasn’t as part of the membership package. So I decided to cancel my membership during the 7-day cooling off period and that proved to be so excruciatingly difficult despite my many visits to the gym to sort it out, my emails and texts. Instead of cancelling my membership after 4 weeks of back and forth, they charged me instead! They were very disorganised and very poor at handling anything but getting people to join. Negative experience: Busy, dirty and needs maintainance. I’ve been a member here for almost a year. I find that the gym just gets way too busy at certain times and so I have shifted my trainining to avoid the peak periods. But I still end up having to wait long times for equipment. Everything needs a deep clean. From the equipment to the facilities. The bathrooms are a mess and disgusting. There are never any paper towels to dry your hands. The toilets were unusable today. The sauna tiles are falling off. For sure the most filthy gym I’ve ever trained at. Equipment like clean yoga mats and working bar clips are few and far between. All the equipment needs a scrub, including barbells and plates. Pins for the pin machines are missing. I like the outdoor section becuase of the view. And the location is convenient for me. That’s why I’ve stayed.

Negative experience: The gym is always busy, you can’t even train properly - even outside of peak hours! Machine and equipment are old - a lot are broken and never fixed. (For example: Only one rower machine left now!) Gym cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and there are never wipes available. Lockers are broken/no doors. The staff are rude, ignorant and extremely unhelpful. Would definitely not recommend this gym !!

Positive experience: This gym is my "native" one. My subscription started in June 2011. Do you think they marked my DECADE with them in some way? I go there only once a week for top presenter Marlon Woods . Otherwise there is a lot more FF clubs elsewhere. If you like crowded noisy gym with teenagers posing at the mirrors blocking the way in the change room - this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: I have had a new lease on life since joining FFirst. I have met new people, lost weight, increased my energy, become part of a team. I have helped my back injury and destressed in the sauna. When I have time I go to other FF gyms … I go to the city for a heated swim, marubra for hot yoga and I enjoy the ability to be linked in with a very long list of FF gyms in different areas that provide a range of group training classes and each different suburbs comes with its own type of client personality… Wonderful.
