Fantastic experience: With all the new racks, one or two extra flat benches could be nice.

Fantastic experience: The staff here have been so wonderful. I ended up discovering there was a gym a bit closer to me but I wanted to comment on how lovely the people who work here are. Chrissy and Indigo were so helpful and I highly recommend Edwin as a fantastic trainer!! I'll also say this gym is always the right amount of busy - personally I prefer a bit bigger space but if you don't like to fight for a machine it's a great option. Thanks team ❤️

Positive experience: Some apartments have bigger gyms than here.

Negative experience: I’m disappointed with how the branch is handling communication regarding its refurbishment. I never received any emails, calls, or texts about the gym’s closure, and now I’m left to figure out when it will reopen. Since the Marrickville location is closed, I’ve been using the Chippendale branch, but now I’ve received a notification about a price increase, as the Marrickville branch is no longer my ‘home’ gym. It would have been considerate if the branch had informed members about the closure, reopening dates, and any changes to pricing due to this situation. Overall, I do enjoy the Marrickville branch; the staff is always friendly, and it does its job well. But it has been disappointing.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this gym. It smells and the assistant gym manager Indigo is incompetent.

Negative experience: I’ve visited a few gyms around Sydney and I would have to say, this has to be the worst. The parking is horrendous as there’s potholes left, right and centre so I wouldn’t be rolling in with a brand new car unless you want to leave with a few “gifts” aka damages. Also, it absolutely stinks because of the lack of ventilation so I would come prepared with a mask because if you don’t die from your workout; you will most certainly die from the stench.

Fantastic experience: Great laid back gym with wonderful staff. Always a smile on arrival and a wave on leaving.

Negative experience: i honestly don't mind this gym but while you're apparently having renovations PLEASE make a female only bathroom. it's legit disgusting there is always piss everywhere and smells awful. compared to camperdown where there are hair straighteners and free tampons these bathrooms may as well be holes in the ground for how gross they are. i come after work and i have to change in these bathrooms and am borderline worried for my health. oh, also, the cleaner absolutely reeks of BO

Negative experience: Male Staff are the rudest and the men who work there are incredibly arrogant and aggressive. The bathrooms are filthy and the team who work there should stop show ponying around and do some cleaning.

Negative experience: Cancelled my contact with anytime fitness Marrickville and they continue to charge me. I filled out fhere form and set proof of my flights to prove I can’t continue my contract with them. They never responded to my email and took the money out of my account. Please rectify the issue and I’ll delete the review

Fantastic experience: Really warm and friendly atmosphere with expert advice on training for all your goals. A family feel that is very welcoming.

Negative experience: This gym truly is the worst I've ever been too!!! The weight rack has no stickers so you can never find your weights easily the benches have years and are cracked which is unhygienic and disgusting!!! The roofeaks of water on to the carpet on the top so it's just disgusting the smell. I have already spoken to the management they say it's been going on for 2 years so it's never going to change. I've asked them to cancel my contract because it's just un hygienic and gross to go to!!! Just take my advice and don't even bother going to this gym ! Join a new gym that's not old and falling apart. And also unorganised.

Negative experience: No vibe. It feels like lacking on equipment. Lots of people that look like they've never trained therefore not using their common sense either. Also parking is full most of the time and small.

Negative experience: Toilets/shower rooms were dirty most of the time. Customer service is awful if not physically there. I left area and have had multiple emails ignored or taken weeks to respond to, which is surprising considering staff are sat at the computer most of the time. Funny because when I enquired about joining, I was inundated with calls and texts and emails.

Negative experience: Appalling maintenance & hygiene Need to get water fountain fixed btw

Negative experience: Bit of a dump ! Worn out equip as well . Staff are great ! Wow what a response from the owner ….the owner , obviously you don’t care which shows . Again amazing staff ! You are very lucky to have them !

Negative experience: Made the mistake of putting in an online enquiry to ask for pricing, because this is not on the website. Was inundated by phone calls during work hours. When I said "sorry I cant talk right now, I am still at work", they hung up on me without even saying a word. This sounds like aggressive sales done wrong, and its just plain rude.

Negative experience: The air conditioning is not always working.. unbearable workout during the summer in this gym

Negative experience: Anytime marrickville is an ok gym. From a budget gyms perspective it delivers the basic facilities you should expect, clean, has the equipment you should expect, and doesn't attract your typical influencer ego lifters. However, the staff turnover rate is unprecedented which makes it incredibly difficult for requests to actualise. E.g. Simply asking to understand the process of requesting new gym equipment (a cable attachment) is either ignored or lost in "we have submitted your request" via instagram. Having trained here the past 2 years, It seems the staff (a mixed bag of local teens through to experienced PT'S) have more on an emphasis on social media presence, as in getting you into the gym (e.g. flogging free 6 week deals all year around, refer a freind etc) opposed to actually maintaining / fixing gym equipment. i.e the mysterious cylce room that has been 'under maintenance' for the two years i've been training. Although the gym does seem to drive some initiatives which is nice to see during the day (great for work from home / unemployed individuals) for the 9-5ers, they seem to miss out on these initiatives. Marrickville is slowly getting put on the map in regards to ub and coming sydney suburbs, from 20 years of derelict to $$$ prampushers & gen z's, whoever is pumping cash into this should invest in ye ole spruce up.

Negative experience: Terrible experience of a friend- As an observer, I've witnessed my friend's experiences with Anytime Fitness, even though I'm not a member myself. It's disheartening to see a gym operate with such a lack of transparency and customer consideration. The initial encounter, where my friend sought assistance regarding membership concerns, reflected a disappointing inflexibility on the part of the staff. The subsequent revelation that the membership had been extended without notification or consent is alarming, raising serious questions about the ethical standards of Anytime Fitness. Additionally, the consistent overcharging of a student, coupled with the demand for an extra payment upon termination, adds another layer of concern to the overall experience.

Negative experience: Terrible Experience with Anytime Fitness - Worst Service Ever I have been a member at Anytime Fitness for over a year now, and my experience with their service has been nothing short of a nightmare. Last year, I approached one of the staff members, expressing my concern about not actively using my membership and inquiring if there was anything that could be done. To my dismay, the response was an immediate and unhelpful "no." I reluctantly accepted it, assuming I would have to continue paying for the remaining term of my membership. However, my frustration reached a new level when I recently called them to confirm when my membership was ending, only to discover that it had already ended back in September. Shockingly, they had continued charging me without my consent or even a courtesy notification. There was no email or message informing me of the automatic renewal, leaving me in the dark about my ongoing financial commitment. What adds insult to injury is the fact that, as a student for the past two years, I have been consistently paying more than the student membership rate. This discrepancy in pricing is not only unfair but also unacceptable, especially when considering the financial constraints that students often face. Now that I've decided to terminate my membership due to this appalling experience, Anytime Fitness is demanding an additional payment for the upcoming week. This lack of transparency and the blatant disregard for customer communication have left me deeply dissatisfied.

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming staff and a nice vibe to go along with a great gym

Negative experience: They make it harder than it needs to be to sign up. Staffing hours need to be updated as 8pm is extremely misleading. Staff don’t work a minute over 7pm. Also needed to check the price and they wouldn’t provide it over the phone. Instead they would rather make people waste their time and ask in person during staffing hours

Negative experience: inflexible, sales tactics designed to bully you into membership. Doesn’t feel great, what is this, the 90’s? I am a shift worker so getting to the gym in normal hours is hard for me (also why AFT on the surface is great). I spoke with a sales person today, intention was to take advantage of the offer and sign into membership over the phone. sales agent advised they are unable to disclose membership rates over the phone, it’s must be face to face. She was also pretty happy to apply pressure around the fact the ‘special discounts’ was only on for a few more days… So you want me face to face to make it harder for me to say no to you? Surely the product you are offering should speak for itself. The sales tactics are gross, and designed to take advantage of people. A google search will show there are a lot of other options. BE. Better

Positive experience: Although there are areas of the gym that need refurbishment. The place is very welcoming if you’re a beginner to the gym and the staff have been very helpful with answering enquiries about memberships.

Negative experience: This gym has gone downhill in a big way over the past few years. Equipment is dated and jumbled all over the place. Generally crowded and badly ventilated so always stinks. Bathrooms are straight up disgusting. Leaving this review in the hope owners/management invest in a clean up or refurb as the staff are always very friendly and enthusiastic and deserve a better facility!

Positive experience: I enjoy the 2 floors and lots of space if I want to tuck myself away in a corner and just do my workout without the busyness that smaller gyms or spaces have to put up with. If you're feeling more social, there are lots of friendly regulars and staff. Equipment is satisfactory and there seems to be some level of hygiene across the facilities and gear. The gym's proximity to cafes, supplement stores and food means you have everything you need right next door for a solid workout.

Negative experience: Cleanliness of the gym is simply disgusting; great staff/stacked with strong machine selection although it’s constantly busy and makes it hard to get a quick workout in without waiting for machines.

Negative experience: I have been a member of Anytime Fitness for many years. Have decided to leave, as there was no maintenance including cleaning the bathrooms for many months and was only getting worse. The place is filthy! Have arranged for a cancellation of my membership, everything being finalised with David( the manager) Three months later, I am still being charged for a membership that was cancelled. Appalling service. In the industry were there is a gym around every corner, Anytime Fitness Marrickville certainly doesn’t make any effort to keep or get your business. Not worth your hard earned money!

Positive experience: Below average for an anytime fitness nowadays. The place really smells, every time I go. Really needs a revamp. Worst part is the dumbells are all jumbled constantly and there aren't a pair for every weight...

Negative experience: This is a review about the amenities. The gym is stacked and amazing. Toilets are unkept and unhygienic. Mouldy and dirty showers, wee on the floors, filthy toilets, toilet paper strewn across the floor, dirty floors, rotting paint at the bottom of door. Bacteria heaven. I felt dirtier after my shower that before. Not good enough considering the money we pay. Anytime team, please visit Hurlstone Park or Summer Hill to get an idea of what a clean and maintenaned toilet should look like. I won't have photos, but I do have them.

Positive experience: The staff are friendly and welcoming, always greet you and say goodbye when you're leaving which is nice. Gym itself definitely in need of a refurb - machines are pretty old, one of the treadmills sounds like an A380 taking off, doesn't smell great especially when somebody who has had too many protein shakes nukes the toilet. Parking can be tricky as the boom gate doesn't work which means non-gym members use the car park to go and get their coffee, you can usually find parking down a nearby side street though. With a refurb and the boom gate fixed this would be a 5 star place as it's conveniently located and the staff are nice.

Positive experience: I went to the Marrickville Anytime Fitness for a change of scenery from my usual branch but was very disappointed. Gym was so cramped with machines so close to one another and the cleanliness of the place was terrible. Sorry but the bathrooms had not been cleaned for weeks, maybe even months.

Negative experience: Tried cancelling my membership after my contract expired, they have been unresponsive and are continuing to charge my card even after multiple emails to stop. Ended up needing to call the bank to block them. Haven't had these issues with other AFs, just Marrickville. Really disappointing. The gym itself is fine. Limited parking means it's a roll of the dice as to whether you're able to go however.

The club manager David is an asset to your business. The club itself is also quiet compared to Fitness playground and has all the equipment you need. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I was excited to join this gym because it was super close to home and I was told that they were about to renovate the entire gym with 'better' equipment. It's now been 6 months. I've tried to give the gym a good go however the current equipment is really average with rusty pins. I asked to see if they had a hip thrust pad however I was advised by staff it would be best to buy one at K-Mart. I've tried to get out of the contract as it's not met my expectations on what was promised and now I'm being told to pay a $300 cancellation fee or freeze and wait for the renovations. I'm never one to complain, feels icky but this experience has been so average!

Positive experience: Staff are really lovely, it's a large venue and not over crowded with plenty of space and variety of equipment. The only negative thing are the state of the bathrooms - they are really horrible and staff don't clean it, there was poo on the toilet seat
