Negative experience: Good gym facilities, but I feel so let down by this company. After cancelling my membership, I encountered a fee discrepancy. I was assured by the customer service manager that the issue would be resolved promptly, but nothing was done, and the manager subsequently quit. I was informed by staff that there was no one available to address the issue, as they didn’t have a customer service manager at the time. After waiting for the new manager to start, I spoke to her, and she assured me she would speak to someone about the issue and get back to me within a few days. However, she did not follow through. Since then, I have called over a dozen times to contact her, but to no avail. I feel completely taken advantage of.

Fantastic experience: Amazing atmosphere and top quality equipment that is always maintained and kept clean by staff. The staff are beyond amazing. Harmony is such a kind and caring soul and she has been so helpful and knowledgeable towards myself and my friends. I highly recommend this club to anyone that’s looking for a community environment with modern and up to date equipment.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for over a year and just got hubby signed up. This gym is so well laid out, great equipment. The lighting and design creates such a good atmosphere. We also use the kids cartel and it is excellent. Our girls absolutely love it! The staff are always so friendly. The classes are great too. It's good value for money. Highly recommended this gym.

Negative experience: Absolutely ridiculous staff. It is the worst experience dealing with the Fitness Cartel. The management is poor, and the systems are disorganized. I’ve faced multiple issues with unauthorized charges and direct debit deductions even when the gym membership was cancelled 1 months ago. To date, no refunds have been processed for these direct debits. The manager never made herself any efforts to respond to my inquiries, even after staff assured me that my messages would be passed on and she will give me a call back. Each time I have to call and ask if Manager is there and was never there. Not recommended at all.

Fantastic experience: i’ve been to fitness cartel a while ago and had poppie introduce me she has great customer service for those who new to the gym !

I did not catch the person’s name working at reception or the front desk on Friday when I was in, but wanted to give you a shout out. Your friendly and positive art belongs in the industry. Really great. Great place to train.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalled at the behaviour of this gym. Initially upon sign up we were excited, a big new flashy gym and secured foundation memberships (yay right), wrong….. the moment the 15 months were up, they upped the price, but not for everyone! They sneakily didn’t charge the annual fee to retain the same price which in the contract it was to be done automatically. We initially let that go, for the classes and what was on offer it still seemed ok, sort of. That was until they started cutting classes, sauna was taken out of order and the constant replacement of staff just left a bad taste in the mouth, so we chose to walk. Out of contract, we completed the departure form as required. It stated that in order for the membership to be cancelled a call will be made to us to cancel, that call never came. My husband managed to hound them daily enough for them to just do it without even calling him back, but not mine, no I have had to call and call and call and still no call back or cancelled membership. 30 days is nearly up…… Poor form Fitness Cartel, such poor form.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for quite some time and, while the physical aspects of the gym are commendable, my overall experience has been quite frustrating. Let’s start with the positives: the equipment is top-notch, and the facilities are well-maintained. I particularly love the virtual classes—they really are some of the best I’ve come across. Plus, having the ability to use the classrooms when they're available is a huge bonus; not many gyms offer that kind of flexibility. Unfortunately, my good experience has been overshadowed by the incompetence of the staff. Right from the start, I encountered major issues that have persisted since I joined. The most significant problem was being locked into a 3-month crèche contract without my knowledge. It was never communicated during the sign-up process, and when I tried to cancel it, I was told I would have to keep paying and was unable to cancel it, in turn I would receive two weeks free as a “resolution” — Not exactly what I was looking for. After much back and forth, including quite an uncomfortable confrontation, I finally managed to get them to cancel the crèche contract. However, the troubles didn’t stop there. Since then I’ve received multiple calls stating that my account is always overdue, despite having sufficient funds. I’ve triple-checked my account numbers and even after numerous calls, the staff continues to insist there’s a problem, which has led to unnecessary additional fees. This is incredibly frustrating, and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed by the whole situation. It’s disappointing because the facility has so much potential, but with such ineffective staff & management, it’s no wonder why they struggle to retain members. I’m counting down the days until I can officially cancel my membership. If they can improve their customer service and train their staff better, this gym could truly be a gem, but for now, I wouldn't recommend it!

She went above and beyond in spending extra time with me during the gym orientation and we shared a few laughs together. She was very knowledgeable about the different types of preworkout. Fantastic experience: Love the gym, cafe, crèche and people but PLEASE REPLACE THE SAUNA ALREADY. The only reason I even joined was because I wanted to cancel my city cave membership to have childcare and infrared sauna in one place. Now I regret it because it has been out of order for months. Going to cancel as soon as I’m out of contract because it has been a massive inconvenience. I keep asking how long until it will be working again and one of the reception ladies laughed and told me to have a hot bath. Not really funny when I joined to use the facilities that you can’t even even deliver on? Do better

Negative experience: It's just wrong in so many different ways, to name one , let's see the suana is in the toilet right next to a urinal. If you use it you are just sitting there in the bathroom just watching everyone. You feel like bad perv, it's just so so wrong. Plus if you have any strength at all , don't even bother you will Max the machines out just by looking at them. It's just a joke, a very expensive joke

Fantastic experience: Today was my first experience with fitness cartel and I pleasantly surprised with the fantastic, friendly and charismatic service of all staff. In particular, two staff members went above and beyond in their service (soph and good ol Monte) strongly recommended!!

Negative experience: I’m a pretty easy going person don’t usually write reviews but just sharing my experience… when I joined I made a special agreement and paid a higher rate as I would need to pause my membership once a year for 2 or 3 months .. upon pausing it not only did I get pestered to restart it but there is a hidden fee you still have to pay when it’s paused…. Came back to re activate it and they had started my membership early when asked to rectify the mistake they went back to their old policy and not the one they had agreed on when i joined… I warn anyone about joining this gym they seem to be kinda unfair with their conditions and fees like many other I have seen comment about also.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, good quality and well maintained equipment. Great atmosphere. Also signed on with PT Chris Harris from pickled conditioning. He is a fantastic coach with a wealth of knowledge. Coming up to one year training with him now and my progress has been significant. Couldn’t have done it without him and I couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Negative experience: Had a really terrible experience I wanted to view the club and get information about membership options. I asked to see if I can do a trial just to see if the gym is a right fit - a day/session would have been good but was told it's a premium gym and don't offer that but seems to be all over your website. I think you might need to find some better people to get new members that actually listen. Signed up to Gold's instead.

Negative experience: Personally I found it highly uncomfortable coming here. There’s tripods and recording happening everywhere. It’s a shame gyms don’t ban recording. I’m trying to increase my fitness and I’m constantly checking to make sure I’m not ruining anyone’s video or I’m not in anyone’s video. It’s just unnecessary. The gym is where you go to get fit and keep fit. All this Instagram showy nonsense has ruined what used to be a haven for some people. There’s mirrors to see if you’re doing it correctly, you don’t need to record yourself to check this. If you’re like me and just want to work out and work out in peace, I would pick another gym.

Negative experience: My partner has had the worst experience. For a gym that portrays they are so classy, and yet the toilets are regularly blocked and leaking, water everywhere, water fountains blocked and smell, the place regularly stinks because of these issues, group fitness room regularly has issues and no one knows how to fix them. What a waste of money

Positive experience: Good atmosphere and good range of equipment. I was happy to see they invest in the gym and recently bought some more equipment. Only minor criticism is they are a bit light on resistance bands and ropes. I highly recommend, best gym I have been to. 4.9 stars.

Negative experience: Absolute nightmare to suspend membership. No acknowledgment of emails and there’s no valid reasons to cancel your membership… YOU HAVE TO PAY THE 15 months- still being charged full fees without hold. Pretty disgraceful lock in contract for 15 months! Join in fee $100 + $14.95 per week x 60 weeks = 1000! Things change (trust me on that), want it or not… they do not care. Also; - Admin staff complete unprepared / untrained -Extremely LAUD music, not pleasant - couldn’t heard my own music - Sauna is mostly busy or wet with some else sweats. Way too many people for the weights & machines available. Not recommended. There are lots of good GYMs around.

I appreciate her patience and kindness when she was approached with an issue I had. She was very willing and able to help straight away. Thank you CC!

Negative experience: Pretty disgraceful what this gym did to my partner a few weeks back when she tried to cancel her membership. We joined prior to opening, but due to unforeseen circumstances, had to relocate. She never even had a tag to get in to this place, and tried canceling on numerous occasions but this gym insisted in sucking every last cent they could out of her. Very difficult to deal with and not understanding at all, made her jump through a number of hoops to be able to cancel her membership and even after giving a months notice prior to paying the ridiculous cancellation fee, they still tried to steal an extra months worth of payments out of her! In total, around $850 just down the drain. The crazy part is, my brother is experiencing the exact same thing with another Fitness Cartel! I would never recommend Fitness Cartel to anybody. World Gym is far more superior in every way.

Fantastic experience: The crèche ladies are amazing! My little bub loves coming here. Joining this gym 6 weeks postpartum was the best thing I’ve ever done for my mental health! People actually put their weights away and wipe their machines down when finished! The front desk staff are really lovely too which I’ve never really experienced. They have a wide range of equipment and great booty machines This is hands down the best gym in Brisbane

Fantastic experience: FCT Monday vs Wednesday. Monday is very busy in the club and it's been super hard to gain the fct space indoors. Some ppl become very difficult and confronting for staff. So we have been outside. Don't get me wrong outside is fine. But I think having some sort or sign or space blocked off will be better use of the area for the times needed.

Negative experience: Be awere; Lock-in contract! - To transfer a 15-month membership has to pay $100 for the tag and other fees and the new member will be locked for 15 months… may as well get a new membership without transferring – waste of time and money - things change in 15 months! But you still need to pay till the last day. The staff member I have been dealing with has shown to be highly incompetent in her role -the administrative and management staff are absolutely useless, immoral, and unethical.- stay clear!! This gym utilises Debit Success are Scammers! Read the reviews on Product review, Trustpilot, and consumer action law center : Worse service provider to deal with, Untrained staff, don't know how to do simple accounting.

Negative experience: Disappointing that I had enquired about canceling my membership as I was moving, I had never trained there nor had I picked up my tag and yet I’m still paying my weekly membership.

Fantastic experience: I was hesitant at first when two neighbours suggested I join Fitness Cartel. It’s 15mins drive from home and I pass 3 gyms to get there. But I’m so glad I took their advice. This is my kind of gym. A place where there is good music, atmospheric lighting, amazing bathrooms, plenty of equipment, heaps of classes, engaged staff and friendly other gym goers who are at mixed stages of their own fitness journeys. I’ve had my share of unused gym memberships in my lifetime. This is only the second gym I’ve ever been to that kept me coming back to actually get fit for me.

Positive experience: Joined Fitness Cartel was shown through by Bri honestly she was cool and professional. I work in a heavily customer focus industry and she shown great customer service meet my expectations.. Gym all round is vibrant model with great equipment.. only downfall is their payment method how the company uses a debit company and not their own system. Thank you Bri keep up the customer service.

Negative experience: Wouldn't join this gym, you miss a payment and they will call you 4x times a day untill its sorted, absolutely rude, even on weekends, imagine having a afternoon BBQ with family on a weekend and having them call you 4x times each day and filling your voice mail box up, I discussed with them not to call weekends and only business hours and still do this anyway, even my partner gets calls and emails all time asking to join when she has said she is not interested and stop emailing and calling her, the vibe in that gym is average, small and in a bad location, definitely do not recommend.
