Welcome to World Gym Maitland, where fitness meets community! Located in Telarah, Australia, our gym boasts modern equipment and fantastic facilities catering to all fitness levels. Our members rave about the friendly staff and supportive atmosphere, making every visit a positive experience. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned lifter, you'll find a welcoming environment here.
We are particularly proud of our Group Fitness classes, led by our dedicated instructors like Hilary, who personalize sessions to suit all fitness levels, ensuring fun and engaging workouts. Many have noted the excellent creche services that make it easy for parents to focus on their fitness goals while their little ones are in caring hands.
While our gym is highly rated for its cleanliness and well-maintained equipment, some members have experienced challenges with the membership cancellation process. We are actively working to improve this aspect and appreciate your feedback.

Negative experience: I signed up to the gym and trained once. I then got a job in Central QLD. I informed the gym that I needed to cancel my membership. They insisted that I needed to come into the gym in person. With my travel and frequent time away, this was near impossible. To this day they are still debiting my account. I have notified them via email, text and phone. No one has bothered following up with me. It has now been 10 weeks since my original cancellation request (in writing). $200 of unauthorised debits! Buyer beware!!
Negative experience: Cancelled my membership well over a month ago, filled out all of the cancellation forms and yet I am still getting charged for my membership. It has gotten to the point I have had to raise a dispute with my bank. Do better.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of world gym for over 4 years. I was so hesitant to join as I was 140 kilos size 26 and so self conscious that I would be judged and feel like I didn’t belong! That was never the case and from the moment I joined I was welcomed into the club and encouraged through my fitness journey. The members are supportive of each other and the crèche team are lovely. The best part of World gym however would be the fitness instructors and the classes and they are why I am still a member years later. The motivation and support they provide to members is second to none and it is because of them I have completely transformed my life. I am now a very happy healthy size 6-8 who loves the gym and misses it when I don’t go. There have been a select few that have completely changed my life and Hilary who I do many classes with is always there motivating me and pushing me to keeping me accountable while making the classes fun- I always try new classes that she recommends and she never disappoints -she quiet frankly is the bomb diggerty lol she is an asset to the gym so please don’t ever leave

Negative experience: Nice clean gym, didn’t have a great experience cancelling membership had lots of problems and went on for 6 weeks the only person who stuck to their word and completed it for me was Justin (the real MVP). The staff hours were never accurate the 5 months I was at this gym and there is a stair master machine that’s been out of order since I joined don’t think it’ll ever be fixed. Not the worst gym just has lots of improvements to make.

Fantastic experience: The Pilates classes are what so many of us guys need. It really helps stretch my Joints and improve my mobility. It is a hard workout and I am sweating by the end, it isn’t easy. We do have a laugh as it is easy to be in o as a beginner!

Positive experience: Great gym, lots of clean modern equipment. Love the Barbell bar. Only problem I found is the gym gets a bit warm during the afternoon as the sunlight comes straight through the large glass windows. Definitely the gym of choice if you live in the Maitland area.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for 6 years now, never felt more relaxed and comfortable in a gym like I have at this place. Awesome chilled atmosphere and amazingly friendly staff. Positive experience: World gym Maitland is a great gym. Has a variety of equipment to choose from, it’s clean and all the equipment is well looked after. The staff are always friendly on reception and go above and beyond if you have an issue. I’m also lucky to have found an exceptional Personal Trainer Sarah from Oxygenation8. Sarah is approachable, full of knowledge, supportive and always pushes me to limits so that I get the results I am after 10/10 would recommend Sarah to anyone looking at beginning personal training.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for 7 years now and by far the best trainer there is Sarah. She provides me with good food insights on what to consume and some seriously good sessions whether it’s weight or cardio based. Has even helped me rehab a lower back strain recently. She also incredibly outgoing and has great banter. Definitely worth hiring her.

Negative experience: They accept fitness passport but you have to pay 79$ for the fob. Literally defeats the purpose of fitness passport
I'm sorry to hear that you were unhappy about paying for a key tag, unfortunately this is a standard fee across all World Gyms.
Positive experience: I have been a member of world gym Maitland for a few years now and it's sad to see the gyms quality start to lack, benches missing bolts and dumbbells constantly loose, complete lack of maintenance it would seem, instead of replacing one of the cable ropes that was heavily frayed it was melted with a lighter, some members seem to not have any respect for the gym leaving weights on and leaving attachments laying all over the floor instead of putting things back where they go, daily I clean up after other people, it would be nice if management had a conversation with those lack of respect members and actually put a little effort into general maintenance. Definitely room to improve back to what the gym used to be.

Negative experience: Not a horrible gym, and I was signed up for about 5 years which gives me a pretty good point for this review. 1. Staffed hours are never accurate, you don't know when it's actually going to be staffed or not. (I've showed up twice for casual sessions in apparent "staffed times", gym was not staffed) 2. I complained for months about the infrared sauna being fixed with a glue it shouldn't have been (it stunk everytime you used it), hence why I eventually ended up cancelling my membership, and as soon as I cancelled my membership they bought a new sauna??? 3. Fantastic experience: Went to Gym World second we walked into the door jack greeted us and gave us very clear instructions on how to sign up and we went in we liked the atmosphere of the place and we signed up the second we were done with our free workout session thanks to be referred by family can’t wait to come back meet the friendly staff when trying to work myself
