Fantastic experience: World gym penrith is a first class facility. The owners are always looking for ways to improve the facilities and recent upgrades have really made the gym ten times better and I didn’t think that was possible. I would highly recommended this gym to any member of the public, they offer a vast range of classes and the equipment is always maintained and well looked after. Grab yourself a shake to, they are top notch.

Positive experience: World Gym Penrith is a fantastic gym with an impressive range of equipment – they really have everything you could ask for, from various weights to the latest machines. The staff are friendly and helpful, and features like the posing room, outdoor area, and comfort zone make it unique. There’s even a convenient store inside for workout essentials, and the community vibe is spot on. It’s also spacious, with CCTV in the car park for extra security. On the downside, the gym’s aesthetics are a bit dated and the toilets could use some updating. A few pieces of equipment need maintenance, like the lat pullover machine missing a belt, and one of the pads on the lat pull-down machine is loose. Also, the fans don’t reach every part of the gym, which can be annoying during a workout. Overall, though, it’s a great gym with a welcoming atmosphere and all the resources you need to achieve your fitness goals.

Negative experience: Asking $19 for a casual visit or $50 for a key as a Fitness Passport member FOR VISITS DURING STAFFED HOURS is absolutely ridiculous. Clearly Fitness Passport members are not welcome. Editing as a result of owner's response. Thank you for your response. I'm not sure if you are aware, but FP members can use their app to check into gyms, ensuring your gym gets reimbursed. However, your gym is asking me to pay $19 and sign in with FP credentials, which seems like double-dipping. Moreover, what’s the point of my FP membership or your gym’s partnership with FP if I still need to pay a casual visit fee?
Hi Emanuel - thanks for stopping by with your feedback. You need to understand that you pay Fitness Passport for the opportunity to use gyms, and when you use a gym under the correct rules then Fitness Passport pay the gym. FP and gyms are totally seperate businesses, our financials are not linked. So if you do not wish to pay for a keytag (which you will find is a charge at most gyms if not all) which then registers through to Fitness Passport so we get paid, then your other option is to pay for a casual. If we let you in without one of those options then you are simply using us for free thats not fair on us as a small business - hope that makes sense. Fitness Passport members are very welcome with us, infact we have a high percentage of members from Fitness passport, and we don't come up against feedback such as yours as they all understand the contract they signed at Fitness Passport. Please call the club and ask for the manager if you require further clarification. Thanks
Negative experience: Start talking with a membership consultant, after advising of my partners work schedule, it was suggested it would be okay to go to the gym on a Sunday to complete the membership. We went to the gym, signed up with two memberships and also a creche account. Almost immediately, I had issues with the crèche account, details were not entered correctly. After phone calls and several follow-ups finally got to the bottom of the issue with the debit account and why it kept saying I was owing amounts. I note here- that if it is not ideal to have payments come out on a Monday as it does not give time for weekend payments to synchronise with your debit system. Perhaps your staff should not be setting Monday as a date for payment… I digress, myself and my partner, we had a two weeks free for commencing our membership, only two yet again have issues with payment, we are receiving notifications to say money is outstanding. The account is suspended, since the account is suspended I am not able to log into the mobile app and update details. So once again I have to make another phone call to update details that I should not need to update, and trusting another persons attention. I won’t put words in anyone’s mouth, but as o was advised, the gym is understaffed over the weekend and it is very easy for staff to be distracted. Perhaps it may be best not to offer perspective members the opportunity to come into the gym and sign up over the weekend. Because it is due to human error, and distraction that I have spent more time on the phone to the gym than I have at the gym and I am out of pocket two dishonour fees. At this point, I’m thinking it’s a miracle that one out of the three accounts had the correct details. I was also advised that I could contact the debit company myself to see if the dishonour fee could be waivered, as a customer who did not enter in the details herself, and purely as a customer full stop. I do not believe it is my responsibility to try and negotiate a waiver with the debit company when the error has have been made by distracted staff. I am a customer of this debit company only by proxy of the gym itself. Yes, I will say I do have high standards, as I work in the customer service space being a consultant for an IT firm. And I think the staff may need to go on a course to understand how to deal with difficult customers, the technique the person used and the language the person used only made me more irate. So I have a solid grasp on customer service, and sadly, this situation is lacking. Quite frankly, this has been the worst interaction I have had in the longest time… we have since cancelled our membership. I don’t think I can enjoy my workouts with this situation hanging over my head

Negative experience: After being with the gym for almost a year I felt like my privacy was invaded every time I had to take time off or work away The gym asked to see my tickets & itinerary for each occasion i had this is not in the policy or procedure Where i go in my spare time to work or leisure is personal and private Wanting to cancel my gym membership for privacy reasons is not a good outcome My issue is privacy not my gym subscription
Hi Lex, thanks for leaving the review, however this is very strange, as the phone call with you earlier you were more than happy with the outcomes and information provided. As explained to you, you have had multiple suspensions above and beyond what was signed by you in your contract, and we have simply informed you that it extends your 12 month term which was your query around cancelling. This is all clear in your contract. We are happy to try and help you resolve your misunderstanding on your signed contract, however you need to communicate with the gym. Thanks

Negative experience: The professionalism and attitude from the owners of this establishment is ridiculous. Bunch of carnies running a gym basically. Don’t sign a “12 month contract” with them as it never ends and they try and force you to come in to cancel when you can sign up over the phone.
Hi Jack, considering you havent ever spoken to the owners regarding cancelling, then its hard for you to establish an opinion of them. If you have a problem with the contract you signed, firstly we recommend you read it throughly as everything you dispute is written in it, and secondly if you did make the time to escalate and talk to the owners then you would find they are very empathic people who would have not left you any reason to 1 star keyboard warrior onto google. Feel free to reach out to the club and chat, you have left this review with no indication of your real name nor that you are even a member so we have no way of contacting you. Also abusing with discriminatory names leaves a not so good impression of yourself, and your review history is scattered with 1 stars on businesses, seems you are against small businesses. Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. Plenty of cool machines, everything is neat and tidy and well positioned. Staff are all very helpful and obviously take pride in the gym’s appearance. They even have 2 separate incline fly machines - unheard of! Even if you’re not a local get a passport membership and make the trip - it’s well worth it.

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to and one I would highly recommend. The floor space at Penrith is massive and even during peak periods I’ve never felt unable to do a workout as there is ample equipment/machines. Massive variety of equipment, including things like a Viking press I haven’t seen in other gyms. Love how everything is zoned and love the classes, especially the X-Fit classes. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, gym is very clean and I would highly recommend.

Hi Kevin , thanks for taking the time to review, however you must have the wrong gym. We completely gutted and renovated 5 years ago, we constantly have new equipment, infact multiple new pieces last year, complete new cardio the year before, and no equipment is more than 5 years old. All the best
Positive experience: Organised a tour and trial session over phone, made considerable effort to get there. Had tour, was asked to pay to do trial. Not cool. Poor form guys. Joined one of your competitors- kinda.
Hi Mark, sorry you feel this is poor form. Yes we don't do free trials as per just about every gym in Australia, but from the tour you can see the whole facility. Should you join after the trial then we take any costs off any startup fees. We also get scammed alot in the past with free trials, hence others may have ruined it for those genuine people, after all we are trying to run a business. Hope you found a gym that met your needs,
Fantastic experience: Great Allround it has group fitness classes Saunas, bike classes, boxing fit classes, awesome updated and well kept variety of equipment. Staff are really friendly. They even have a daycare for the little ones allowing parents to workout. The shop is very well filled with the latest products and staff are really good with helping you select the right products. There is also the option of personal training and assistance.

Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely exceptional experience with the AMAZING Mikaela who helped me sign up for the gym. I can't give her enough praise - it was truly a 10/10 , 5-star experience. She made the entire process seamless and so enjoyable. Her friendliness and willingness to provide me with all the information I needed were remarkable! What's even more outstanding is her dedication to helping me despite the many delays with my application (due to my irregular work hours). She stayed in contact with me for weeks, ensuring that I was fully supported throughout the process. Her patience and commitment are greatly appreciated. Working in the hospitality industry myself, I recognise excellent service when I see it, and her service is among the best I've ever encountered! As for the gym itself, it's a thing of beauty! It offers a wide range of classes, amenities, and assistance that make it an ideal place to reach fitness goals. I can't wait to make it my second home and fully embrace all the wonderful experiences it has to offer. Fantastic experience: As someone who has just started going to the gym for the first time, I was super anxious and intimidated, however, I was greeted and served by Mikaela, who gave me the best customer services I've ever received. She took her time to run me through the policies and programs they offer and made me feel welcomed. She wasn't just trying to get it over and done with, like other places, she explained everything perfectly. She did an amazing job and she deserve an award/raise. Thanks again Mikaela!

She is the most welcoming & warm person & always lights up the room & will help with whatever questions you’ll have ! I was very shy & very closed off when I first signed up & mikaela helped me through it & always made me feel welcomed ! Now it’s like my second home. If you’re looking for a gym to sign up to for the first time or thinking about changing gym’s definitely pop in & ask for a tour you won’t regret it !! Also the shakes are amazing

Fantastic experience: This facility is top notch and will accommodate your needs. The fact it accepts Fitness Passport is a bonus too. Big shoutout to Pritam for all his help, guidance and understanding in the fitness space. His knowledge has had a positive impact on my training goals.

Fantastic experience: World Gym is FANTASTIC!! I've been a member for many years now and I can't recommend it enough. The instructors are awesome, the club is always clean and all staff are more than happy to help you with questions, big or small and advice. World Gym = my second home!!

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! The staff are always on point, friendly and make me beyond happy to be there. Couldn't be more impressed with the atmosphere and equipment. The PT's are superstars (especially Jess <3). You won't regret signing up with World Gym. The shakes are a dream and no one makes them better then Sonya!

Fantastic experience: World Gym Penrith made me fall in love with going to the gym! The variety of machines is unmatched, the separate area for functional training/stretching that isn't in front of the whole gym is so great and the vibe in general is so welcoming! The staff are AMAZING and are very member-focused Cannot recommend this gym more - if you have gym anxiety I would recommend getting a PT to introduce you to all the machines
