Club Lime Platinum Belconnen (CISAC)

Negative experience: I took out a so-called ‘fortnightly membership’ with Club Lime. It turned out that actually one month’s written notice was required to cancel. I was given incorrect information about this by a staff member when I tried to cancel while heavily pregnant - they told me I could suspend instead of canceling (when my child was born) and subsequently cancel if I didn’t want to come back. In fact I had to reinstate the membership and pay for another month to complete the notice period. When I complained I never received a response, despite following up twice over three months.

Negative experience: Save your dignity and don't sign up! I had an extremely disappointing experience at Club Lime CISAC, primarily due to the rudeness of the manager and staff. When I signed up for membership, I was assured that my son could use the pool at no charge until he turns 3. However, after just a couple of visits, one of the staff members rudely demanded an extra fee, completely dismissing my case. I tried to address this issue by emailing the main manager, but my concerns were ignored with no response. It feels like they only treat you nicely to get you to sign a contract, and once you're in, you're just another paycheck to them. The staff's body language and dismissive attitude were appalling, and I felt disrespected as a member. If you value professionalism and respect, I suggest looking elsewhere. It’s clear that once they have your money, they couldn’t care less about your concerns. Avoid this place if you want to be treated with dignity!

Negative experience: There’s no water to drink in the whole facility… seems dangerous for an exercise facility. The obvious solution is to give complimentary bottled water to patrons. There’s no signage either to indicate that all the bubblers are out of order so people are left with the choice to either buy $4.10 bottled water or go dehydrated in the gym. When you pay $55 a fortnight for this membership you expect the bare minimum ie. water.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH CLUB LIME. I signed up under a 'no-lock in contract', and never ended up using the gym. I tried to cancel and they refused to let me cancel my membership, EVEN WITH MULTIPLE DOCTORS CERTIFICATES. All were stating that I had health issues and could not possibly attend a gym, which goes against their cancellation clause. The support has been horrible and even ignored my emails for several months. They have still been taking money out of my bank to this day for a service I have not accessed for the entire 18 months. I have been experiencing hardship at home with letters to support this as to why I need the funds, Club Lime CISAC still refuses to cancel. I have now racked up a $750 debt which I will never be able to afford or change because I CAN'T CANCEL.

Negative experience: **Terrible Service – Feels Like a Scam!** Hopeless service and attitude of Manager I emailed the gym back in March to cancel my membership, yet I’m still getting text messages about overdue payments! It feels like they are trying to scam customers by not processing cancellations properly. Despite sending multiple emails to both the head office and the manager, I’ve never received a reply or even a call back. The level of customer service is absolutely hopeless. If you're considering this gym, beware of their shady cancellation practices. They don't seem to care about resolving issues once they have your money. Extremely disappointed!

Negative experience: Took my money and revoked my access I have been using this gym for a long time, only classes though nothing else. It is expensive and there is no competition in Canberra hence stuck with this gym. The equipment is not maintained and classes are very limited. Customer care is nothing. Recently I thought of downgrading this gym from 28$ weekly at CISAC to one single gym, 19$ to save some cost. I still had a week to go as they charged me biweekly. The downgrading cost is 20$ and they do not refund any money which is 28$ for the next week as they deducted it as biweekly payment. I lost my access to the CISAC immediately. When I asked for the reason they just said we will not refund and you have to make sure you downgrade it before you billing date. Hence I paid for the CISAC and one other gym with 20$ extra. They just kept my money just like that.

Negative experience: Really disappointed in this facility. The equipment and such as perfectly fine, the majority of the staff are good. But when I try to talk to them about accessibility issues it’s like pulling teeth. It took 3 emails before I received one call which I wasn’t able to take. No response to my follow up email as I want to discuss ways they can improve. I received an email after they called telling me how I could access the gym while on crutches, no response to my reply. I will only continue to use the gym whilst I require the pool for hydro rehab. Otherwise I can’t support this institution. Terrible management, feel free to contact me about this because you need to improve

Negative experience: The guy with the 80e hairdo doesnt know about customer service

Negative experience: Shocking experience, not once and Twice in One Month. On the 19/02/24, prior to my visit to the Swimming pool, I made a call to check will the swimming pool be open to the public and I have been advised that it was open. Then I came with my family and then I have been told that it is not open until sometime in the afternoon that day. Given that I already paid two hours parking, they issued me a free parking ticket as a sort of “compensation”. But I can’t just hanging around for a couple of hours to doing nothing so we went to the Manuka Swimming Pool instead. I thought I have learned from that lesson and I made a call at 9:33am today for the same reason, and I have been told that the swimming pool is open. Again I took my dad in his 70s with all the gears on and arrived there at 10:50am and we were refused because “the swimming pool is closed until 2:00pm”. Are you guys kidding me???seriously???!!! The manager firstly denied the conversation until I showed her the call out records on my phone. Then she started trying to tell me how to check the open hours on the website detachedly. Hey Ms. Manager, can you see the reason why I made a phone call prior to? Because your website is not resourceful and helpful. Then the manager was trying to send us to ANU club, but my time is also precious! Can’t believe this is how you treat your client. I had joined with you guys for a long time. Disappointed ! Finally, there is a young gentleman be involved and helped out with a solution. Much appreciated! If you made the same mistakes, then there is problem need to be addressed in your team; If you are not willing to listen to your client, and just deny it, then there is a big issue! No apology, no suggestive solution, excuse only. I don’t think I will walking in again. Regarding your automatic detached replying as below, I think I have shared enough information here.

Fantastic experience: I have been a platinum member for several years and I regularly attend CL circuit classes. There are several of these classes every week and they cater for different fitness levels. Let the instructor know if you are new so they can help with technique. All the instructors are experienced and helpful. A big thank you to Kerli, Ged and the fabulous Emma who help make the CL circuit classes fun and a great way to improve fitness.

Negative experience: Staff on front desk uninterested in serving customers but would rather sit and chat to her mates. I even told her I'm here for thr first time but she didn't seem to care to let me know about any of your services.

Fantastic experience: The Club Lime gym at Cisac is great. Plenty of classes available to suit all customers. Heaps of room to work out in or do classes. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a well-run gym. All gyms should be like this one. Well done!

Negative experience: Pretty odd how Viva leisure is contractually required to give written notice on any increases to recurring gym payments (Clause 39). The payments keep going up without any notice, while the quality of the gym keeps going down. It's also pretty odd that the only communications I receive are text messages and emails begging me to buy their failing shares. I know I'm not the only one either. Might be worth the ACC investigating

Negative experience: Beware of the SCAMS Club Lime works on - They mention no lock-in period, however their cancellation has a waiting period of 28 days and money for 4 weeks will be deducted from your account, which indirectly is a lock-in period. I needed to suspend my membership on medical grounds to which they asked for medical certificate and I provided them on 7th June, 2023. I received a response on 8th June and then some more email exchanges till 9th June. In the mean time, they went ahead and deducted money from my account for the next fortnight. To get the issue sorted, I went to CISAC and spoke at the reception. The person at reception said this is not valid as your medical certificate needs to mention the period for which you are unable to attend on medical grounds. I am not sure if anyone can predict within how many days a person can be expected to be fit in advance. I do not have a response from their customer care anymore and person at their reception was clueless as "they have 13000 members and because of which they have heavy traffic to handle for queries, issues etc." At this point of time, my membership is cancelled effective 01 July, 2023 and I am unable to suspend as "you cannot suspend if you have initiated cancellation" and money is deducted from my account. When you go to join the gym initially, they mentioned you can suspend anytime, cancel anytime, no lock-in periods, which even in all their current advertisements they put across. Absolutely misleading!

Fantastic experience: This club is 10/10 the manager Emma, is always present and happy to assist any situation. Emma is very approachable an easy to talk to. I find her approach as a manager very professional an always wants club lime members to be happy. Many clubs I have been to in the past I can not say iv been given the same experience. I will continue to be a member an happily train from cisac. Again thank you Emma for always being happy to assist.

Positive experience: It is a good gym but it would be nice if Club Lime looked after their loyal long term customers instead of continuing to up the price when at the end of the day... it really isn't worth the increase. (I understand inflation) but considering how much money Club lime would make, I am sure you can be less tight. A lot of equipment needs to be updated as the membership prices go up and please stop servicing all the leg equipment or all the back equipment at once.. take a little from each so people can stick with their routine. But other than that... You've taken over Canberra so there is really less to choose from gym wise lol It would be also really nice if you looked after the smaller gyms too. All the managers say they are asking for something, whether it to be new equipment or to fix the older stuff yet they all say.... management is tight or they just ignore their requests. So clearly your staff need to be looked after better too by higher management.

Negative experience: Staff should be equipped with the skills to communicate with people with Disability/disabilities effectively. Staff should listen (no rush), talk slow and wait for people with disabilities to finish their sentences with encouragement and smile.

Negative experience: Wish the owners of CL CISAC would put the air-conditioning on upstairs on hot days, it's pretty cheapskate

Positive experience: This is the largest gym in Canberra. If I were to count the number of cable crossovers, this gym has 6x! There's heaps of stations, so I've only once had to wait for a station. I love the Body Pump class, clean and efficient change and shower rooms. Awesome pool and steam room. It just doesn't have a dry sauna. I pay to go to Fitness First as they have an awesome dry sauna.

Fantastic experience: Best Club Lime in Canberra! I especially love the ladies only facility and Emma's classes! I've recently moved southside and STILL travel because it's my favourite.

Fantastic experience: Member for 15 years - Belconnen possibly the best fascilities in Australia…… well done guys class all the way and consistent - of course isolated issues occur but this company is thankfully dominant in canberra snd we should all feel very luck.

Positive experience: For the love of god. Add a Hack Squat, and get rid of one of the V-Squats. Also no seated leg curls? Why?? Biggest gym and canberra, and too many of the same equipment. Two V squats, 3 lying hamstring curls, no lateral raise machine. Besides its a great gym, I just think some of the equipment could be removed, like removing the V-Squat, that machine sucks, add a hack squat 100x better!!

Negative experience: Spoke with this guy called zee. Apparently the dumbest facility manager i have spoken with. I have been double charged a couple of times and have tried calling them for a refund, they just refuse and tell me will give me gym credits, which again never happens. I have spoken with atleast 5 people from this place, everyone with a different story. It’s appalling

Negative experience: Only good thing about club lime is there is a lot clubs across ACT...Everything else is very poor quality,management is disaster,stuff is on average 16 y.o without any will for work,equipment is pretty old and poor quality as well.

Negative experience: Staff are great, equipment is good but toilets always have issues and T&Cs are punitive.

Positive experience: Have not been to gym too many times. Nothing to complain about. Large gym with lots of equipment. People tend to congregate in the room with trx straps and weights. Maybe not good for social distancing

Negative experience: I have been member of the club for almost 6 months. I paid for a PT session too but never got a PT class and PT program they supposed to provide me. I called the office and even visited and they asked me to fill a form again and i did but never got any response. I then froze the membership for a while and they still charging me $29/month and now again $50/fortnight without giving any notice. I have called them to talk again but they wont pick it up. Rip offs and poor services, from staff to the management. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, great pool

Positive experience: I'm a regular at this gym and really enjoy working out here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the facility overall is excellent. However, it would be great if the gym added some lifting platforms at some of the racks and individually for people to do heavy deadlifts and olympic lifts. I've seen other gyms (some that are not platinum) have lifting platforms, so it would be a disservice to the ANU members to not have access to such equipment. Also, I think we need more olympic barbells as some of them are becoming really dirty and sometimes there are not enough bars to go around during busy times.

Fantastic experience: Hi, I gym here about 6 days a week, and it is great here. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and the equipment is top notch. A few suggestions I could make would be adding some lifting platforms, and maybe even some more racks that you could fit in that corner next to the windows and mirrors. Further on, what would be nice would be some proper deadlift + squat bars for the people doing powerlifting training.

Positive experience: Nice clean swimming pool but air can be very hot and humid, making it less desirable for lap swimmers. Some of the windows should be opened when it gets hot and humid - as is the practice at other indoor pools.

Fantastic experience: Rithy's body jam class is fantastic ! He is a fun and energetic instructor. He makes everyone feel welcome regardless of ability. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Club lime charged me for two memberships for over a year. I tried multiple times to cancel the second one. The staff at cisac said it was my fault and refused to refund the over $1000 they charged me over that time for the second membership. Join a different gym there are plenty of better ones out there

Positive experience: One stop gym to cater your fitness needs.

Negative experience: When I joined the gym I was told that I could cancel my membership "at any time".. When I wanted to cancel my membership apparently there are new terms and conditions that state you have to wait for 4 weeks. I think this is in really poor taste especially considering the difficult year people are having financially. Edit: Well I didn't contest the existence of the terms and conditions. I simply stated that in the beginning when I enquired, said clause was not stated (conveniently). Hence, I marked "poor communication" as the issue with your business.

Fantastic experience: It’s new and clean swimming pool. Staff are friendly and cooperative. The coaches are good and patient with my 2 active kids. Happy overall.

Fantastic experience: The pool is way cleaner than the one in Belconnen - at least you could see through the water.

Fantastic experience: Good facilities, and very helpful and friendly when my locker got stuck. Lucky they are strong to open it.

Negative experience: The gym is a good size with nice equipment! Unfortunately the program that was setup for out-of-towners (onlime) was shut down without notice given to the people using it, and no alternate program has been set-up despite promises to do so on the website. So I would say this gym has good equipment, however unfortunately definitely doesn't put their members first, which is a real shame.

Negative experience: They don't pity you at all as a student, had exams and had to put my membership on halt. They renewed it without warning, and wouldn't refund my money. I'm a student who can't afford that when I'm studying, I then cancelled and they said I had to wait a MONTH and took another $50 from my account before letting me close. Knowing I could not afford it and couldn't even go. Disgusting treatment stay away from club lime. The response I got was generic, saying it's my fault basically, won't reccomend this gym to anything or anyone.

Fantastic experience: So much space, the equipment is good quality, can get busy but makes sense due to the location

Negative experience: Great facility but no managment. Children diving in the walking way to the pool. It is very danagerous but the guard turned a blind eye. Childrent pool often close for classes, so push children to adult area.

Positive experience: Club lime is a great company but the ANU branch is not big enough, im always waiting for equipment and i doesnt matter what time its so annoying.

Negative experience: Good facility, nice staff but no managment. People were walking around in the 25m pool (no class in the small pool at that time) and staff was ok with it.

Negative experience: I was told you will be paying the same price once you are back to resume membership, after coming back from overseas they says it will be 24.99 instead of 20$

Negative experience: Good facilities, although it gets too packed on weekends and evenings for such a small area. They also have the heater cranked up way too high normally, making cardio damn near impossible

Positive experience: Good: The pool is nice and new, got 25m*2 main pool and a kids pool. Bad: often over crowd during afternoon and weekend. Staff are nice, but they often ignore the below: Sometimes too many people in a lane. Sometimes people swim fast in slow lane, swim slow in fast lane. Sometimes people walk in the main pool, not in the excercise pool. Sometimes they close a lot lanes or whole kids pool for classes, so no good for members.

Fantastic experience: Yo listen up, this new facility is pretty decent. Shout out to the lifeguard who dishes out stroke tips to all the amateurs in the slow and medium lanes (yours truly). Really good addition. Only 4 stars as the John's boys like to walk all puffy chested like peacocks and disobey the social distancing stuff (i.e. only two allowed in spa, sauna and steam rooms.) Dwoz tho, our lifeguard saviour was on hand to elegantly butterfly them off the premises. 5 stars reinstated. I didn't expect them to be able to count past two anyway.

Positive experience: Good number of racks but functional area not quite big enough

Negative experience: They make us pay for 24/7 yet there not open 24/7 and they have one person on in the day so there always a massive line of people not following COVID rules

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for over 10 years and really enjoy it. The gym is quite big so even during busy times you can get access to equipment and the staff are quite friendly and helpful. Great to have pool access too.They have also done a good job opening after Covid19 so that you feel safe, but can still use the gym.

Fantastic experience: Large range of equipment, good location, and friendly staff. The gym is always relatively clean and there's plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing. The best part is their extended opening hours - not too many gyms are open that early.

Fantastic experience: Excellent value for money. Wonderful instructors, plethora of classes to suit all ages, fitness levels and preferences. Expansive gym equipment, weights rooms, pool, spa, sauna as well as heaps of spaces for all the different classes. Great variety and availability of PTs and really reasonable prices.

Fantastic experience: Not too many gyms start at 5:30am and finish at 9 pm with so many facilities on hand. Heaps of showers upstairs and downstairs. Ample sizes of lockers for your personal belongings. The pool is a big drawcard for the kids and family, more than enough Lanes not to be crowded. Steam Room Is Big and Spa next door to it. The massive line-up of fitness classes in the mornings, afternoons and evenings is the best in Canberra. Then once being a member, you get free parking!! Which you can grab a ticket as you walk on the left-hand side main entrance swiping your green tag. Fully air-conditioned and the pool is brand new that tops Off No 1 Canberra's Gym

Negative experience: Signed up for a trial so I could check out the pool and gym. Staff were rude and disinterested in providing any information about the facilities. Ended up asking other people in the gym to show me around. Also worth noting that the trial does not include access to the pool. After asking multiple times a staff member reluctantly escorted me into the pool area to show me a half completed family change room (i was asking for a single membership, this is a little disturbing that the staff member wanted to show me a family changing area). Disappointed that I was not permitted to see the spa or steam room.

Positive experience: This club has various facilities, a large (25m) pool and a smaller (17m) one for swimming classes, spa and gym, change rooms and bathrooms. The staff are cooperative. Prices are acceptable regarding their high quality. Negative aspects are the support and registry services which are faulty and no one even try to help you effectively and also poor maintenance of the facilities.

Positive experience: Good gym with lots of facilities. Not for everyone though as it can get busy and certain machines / racks can get taken. The google crowd figures per hour are quite accurate so you can use that to guide you.

Positive experience: The facilities are new and swanky but $9 casual swim for a student is pretty steep! Not many people at 8am, had the whole lane to myself

Negative experience: This is a brand new gym that couldn't even get its lockers sorted. There aren't enough and you get locked out of your own locker and have to see reception if you're there for a few hours.

Positive experience: pretty good. swimming pool is not that deep so good for practicing for the novice swimmers . not enough group fitness class through out the day.
