Negative experience: Booked a badminton court for Saturday and I was called by the staff to reschedule my time for that day to better accomodate one of their 'bigger customers' . Why am I being discriminated - is it because I'm not a 'big customer' as per Monash's definition? Are we treated based purely on how much money Monash sport can charge us? Customers should not be treated this way.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, fantastic staff and the facilities are top notch!

Fantastic experience: Great sporting Avenue for indoor and outdoor games such as Badminton, Basketball, Squash, table tennis, indoor football, snooker, air hockey, karate and many more. Bookings are online and easy.

Negative experience: These guys are absolute clowns. They refused to provide tape to my friend for his earrings for a basketball game on the grounds that they could not exhaust their first aid supplies despite us being paying students at the university and paying the full registration fee for the game (As if a university receiving millions of dollars in fees and grants cannot provide some basic bandaids). Instead, he was referred to the Monash Merchant to buy some. Not only that but after registering for a basketball season in open men's at Monash, we were not included in the fixture. Upon calling, we were told that they had simply forgotten to put us in the fixture, and we were given a bye in the first week AND the third week, in spite of paying full registration. My advice to you if you are planning on starting a sports team at Monash is to look elsewhere, where the competition is run properly and comparatively less expensive. Monash has once again proven they are a business looking to extort their students out of as much money as possible. UPDATE: They also screwed up our registration

Fantastic experience: Ran a successful badminton tournament at the Stadium Hall at Monash Sport. Staff were super helpful, we made use of the stadium, and foyer out the front.

Negative experience: Impatient and brusque service at the reception. Unsure if it occurs on a daily basis, but obviously needs improvement.

Positive experience: Excellent gym equipment - has both weights and machines in great condition. I was very impressed with the fact that the gym has a trap bar deadlift and an assisted pull-up machine (not a lot of gyms seem to have this!). The gym has a small boxing studio too. Staff and personal trainers are friendly, patient and generally helpful. The gymnasium courts (used for indoor soccer and basketball and volleyball) are also clean and in good condition. The yoga and pilates classes were also brilliant. Outdoors - the synthetic grass used for touch rugby training was good and even has a solid 100m sprint lane for those who want to work on their sprints. The dirt track is also nice for walking around, and the footy oval is good for running. As someone who consistently attended this place while I was studying at Monash University, walking past this place is nostalgic. However, the gym is not 24/7. It closes at 10pm on weekdays and 7pm on weekends, and the staff are required to kick you out when they are closing. And prices are a bit expensive. One personal trainer also gave me a strength & conditioning plan that a semi-professional athlete told me would be too taxing on my central nervous system (which I also agreed with). Also, if you are going to the weights gym, it is a bit of a walk from the entrance.

Fantastic experience: Would play billiard/pool here almost every other day BECAUSE ITS FREE (if you’re a Monash student) *I’m not, so i usually get a Monash friend to open the access door for me Talk about saving 20 bucks an hour ️

Positive experience: Poorly Staffs. Got overbooking by their university teams and dominated our soccer field. Also, they left the Chinese/ Indian take advantage to book the court. Students should be equal to book and play here.

Positive experience: It's a bit expensive, but the court is still ok.

Negative experience: Facilities are good but some of the receptionists are rude and talk like they own the place. Tennis membership here almost legitimately comes with no benefits. You can just turn up on Wednesday and Friday ‘member hittings’ without being a member since no one checks. There’s the half price discount for court hire but I don’t know in what world $9 per hour for a court is a steal. $2 happy hour between 12-2pm is nice though I guess. Strongly recommend the tennis club check memberships for those who come to the casual hitting sessions, it’s unfair to those who’ve paid for memberships to wait for non members to stop playing before being able to play. Overall the staff should stop worrying so much about which court you’re using when there’s 6 empty courts and checking membership for hittings more often. 2/5

Negative experience: The staff is not friendly and mean even though u almost done ur workout will throw u out if u forgot bring ur towel place is crowded and old

Fantastic experience: Great local resource, but very difficult to get parking if you are simply going in to use the sporting complex for yourself or your kids for an hour or so. Unless you are prepared to pay the new ridiculous fees. Not very family friendly.

Fantastic experience: I was there to watch the evonne Goolagong Traning camp matches Unfortunately I got a parking ticket for $96, only 30 minutes parking, pretty steep during holidays, I was the only car there and had already moved it 3 times New tennis courts are fantastic

Positive experience: Does the job for the only real location offering table tennis tables for hire on the south east side of town. The only issue the actual room has in my opinion is the lighting. It's a squash court which may be suitable but the lighting for table tennis isn't the greatest. A lot of glare off the table which can make the ball difficult to see. Especially more so on one end. I'd love it if they offered a room with consistent lighting.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place for a sports enthusiast, although I went as a student but non member can also visit and take the benefits of the sports courts, swimming, gym after taking the membership of certain categories.

Positive experience: The instructors at Monash Sports Gym are highly skilled and friendly professionals, and the facilities are of good quality. However, there is room for improvement in the customer care department at the Monash Sport Venues service desk. The policies seem to change frequently, and many are not informed about these changes. The website information are also useless. The service desk often give quick negative responses without thoroughly researching the matters, which can be frustrating. Additionally, some members of the customer care team display a rude attitude. Despite these challenges, I would still recommend this mainly because of the exceptional instructors who work hard to maintain its reputation

Negative experience: the service is appalling! the staff are ignorant and rude. they be charging $20 + to rent a badminton court for a hour. (you have to set up your own crusty nets yourself). honestly could really replace a few staff members. i would give this place 0 stars if i could. :( overall bad experience.

Positive experience: We were playing 2/3 times a week regularly for months now and never face this kind of problem. Today 5th of September, we were told off for playing 3-4 minutes extra by an elderly women at the reception when returning the net. Before us was a group playing futsal and left the court 5 minutes late. Then we set up nets and stuff , took us approximately 3-4 minutes. Yes we did leave the court 5 minutes later than the booked time as there were no one. Then we reach to the reception 10 minutes late as we were changing clothes then we had to line up again at the reception as there were couple infront. By the time we returned the nets it was 15 minutes late . I mean no one actually would be petty enough like her that we play 5 minutes extra or she's probably in a bad mood ? Idk Others would even let us play in the early or late if the courts are free. Was very frustruated and just wanna let it out here .

Fantastic experience: Monash sports offer a dedicated spots program to local and abroad students. Get involved in mixed social netball. There's a team named the Muppets who play and are such a nice cool and friendly team.

Positive experience: The sports center has most of the amenities that one looks for. Squash, badminton, volleyball. I went for volleyball social that takes place Wednesdays at 8.30pm, for all levels of players.

Negative experience: I was hit in the face by a soccer ball and no one said sorry. I was disgusted by this immature and, frankly, inappropriate behaviour. Embarrassing for a representative of Monash. Do better. Also my bestfriend Ben got a goal at his futsal game. Go Ben!!!!!!!! But he lost. Overall, bad night.

Fantastic experience: Great sports facilities here. They had one room on table tennis along the squash courts. The multipurpose hall was made into badminton courts. It was fun to watch people play. Might try them in the coming week.

Fantastic experience: A world class facility at your doorstep. The preferred destination of many soccer coaches and groups to casually hire this amazing pitch. Various sizes available with excellent change room facilities. The presentation room is also good for video review and small gatherings for your club.

Positive experience: Almost everything you can ask for in a University Gym. Only downside are the timings and lighting. Closes way too early and minimal opening hours on weekends. Also, not having a yellow light section is a massive L. No way to enjoy those sick pumps!

Fantastic experience: A good indoor gaming facility. Unfortunately I lost my wallet there while watching game. I am still waiting for my wallet to receive in my mail or someone will hand over to local police station hopefully.

Positive experience: Located in the Monash University Clayton Precinct, Monash Sport has various courts and sports activities to indulge yourself in. With plenty of parking spaces outside, it is easy and convenient for anyone to travel and enjoy the sports activities at the centre. I went to play badminton with all my team members yesterday at the centre. Good part is the court is a multipurpose court and it can be used for playing Badminton, Basketball and Soccer. Hence it is so convenient if you want to play any of the sports. We thoroughly enjoyed playing badminton. I would recommended anyone who is keen to play some sports and it is conveniently located from Clayton station and there are buses running from Clayton to Monash University.

Positive experience: Friendly staff at counter and weekend free parking are positives but the courts have a bad smell. I suspect the floors have not been cleaned for a while and ventilation is not good.

Fantastic experience: Great place to play sport for Monash and non Monash students at a reasonable price. Came here for futsal competition placements and some of the teams are legitimate contenders. Reasonably priced at $50 a match per team per game which is split at $10/person if you run with no subs. It’s 18 minutes per half for futsal and if you’re not the goalie you’ll tire out. Having subs is quite useful! If doing the competition, it’s important to have some form of athletic ability to play out the match. It’s not as wingable as you think it may be.

Fantastic experience: Nice facility and friendly staff. I've joined the membership almyone year. You can do the gym, fitness class and swimming pool. It's really good value if you have time to involve in. Plus, they hold some interesting activity for free, like zumba night, swimming pride night. I really enjoy it and highly recommend.

Positive experience: Beautiful football/cricket oval, very well maintained and great to play on. As long as you follow your map directions and/or the university signs, you shouldn’t have a problem finding it.

Negative experience: The online system is terrible. After the lock down, I have problem accessing the fitness center. It took them 2 days to finally fix it. And be careful when you're not a student, you can't access with student plan while Monash Sport can still charge you for it. I didn't even receive any email warning me about this. How hard is it to send an email telling me that either I need to cancel my membership or get another plan? It's chaotic!

Fantastic experience: Good facilities and equipment, cheap and easy to book especially for Monash students. Many different courts for different needs such as squash courts, basketball, volleyball and badminton etc. Nice place to get active and play sports with friends.

Fantastic experience: Well maintained pool. One of the best in Melbourne. Comes with added amenities of sauna, jacuzzi and gym. Always less crowded and you can always find a lane for yourself. Staff is well trained and well mannered too. Love this place. Have been steadily coming here for the past 3 years.

Negative experience: Very good facility however lack of care for equipment. Don't know if it's a staff or gym user issue but the weights have been left everywhere and theres oil on the gymnastic bars. Speaking as a personal trainer myself I do not believe that it's worth the $800 a year, although where else are students going to go
