Fitness Cartel Health Clubs Oxley - 24/7 Gym

Negative experience: I go to this gym because it's close and has decent enough equipment. The culture around this gym is a little lack luster with all the weight plates not being racked properly if they're racked at all, witnessed multiple times people just leaving the weights on the barbell and random equipment being left all over and with the membership being quite expensive compared to other gyms it's a bit disappointing. Admin could use work as well, I sent an email and never got a response but got my resolution from reception. Maintenance of the equipment could also be better, specifically the cable machines. Love the chest supported T-Bar row machine though.

Fantastic experience: julz and chloz give me purpose and something to look forward to every morning that I go to the gym and train, their chemistry together is very inviting as well as welcoming. 2 of the best receptionist i’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Fantastic experience: Fitness Cartel Oxley is by far one of the best training facilities I've ever experienced. With state of the art equipment to assist you. With over 200 classes per week including reformer pilates yoga and spin, a one stop shop including a smoothie station you'll be looked after by some of the most welcoming staff. From sign up, PT, child creche and other needs you may have they cater to all walks of life. As someone with previous injuries FC Oxley has some of the best lifting machinery for piece of mind in the journey to recovery and regaining lost years and time. It's not just a gym, its become a place of growth mentally physically and spiritually! Let the gains begin

Negative experience: don't sign up here. the owner needs to pay back all the customers who have been donating to this gym because they can't leave. I've been trying to contact them to leave this gym since 2023. I live interstate now. The front desk don't know how to resolve these issues. everytime I call and you have to wait for the manager/admin team to contact you. And it takes days for it to reach voicemail. My contract ended in April 2024 I WAS paying 18.95 and then they started charging more the following week $22.95. I even filled out the departure application! I called them and front desk said when your contract ends. It rolls onto a new contract HUH I was happy to just pay till my original contract was almost finished. But it's been over 5 months now. I've been robbed $495 in total past my contract end-date. Resolve this issue by contacting me, you'll find me in your emails! At this point the dissatisfied customers here should just report to Queensland ombudsmen.

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership after being fed up with the disrespect and culture surrounding this gym. I've met some of the rudest people here, large groups standing around gossiping and hogging equipment, having your stuff kicked to the side if you step away to grab some water, unsupervised minors, no towels in sight, and the worst instances of people NEVER taking their weights off anything and walking away. 50/50 on if the staff will greet you as you walk in, but most of them were pleasant when chatting. They also use a predatory payment collection system that will charge you more than your weekly fee for a missed payment that is inconsistently withdrawn.

Negative experience: I go to this gym simply because of convenience of location to me. Management are slack with calls and alot of complaint about memberships are heard by many. Administration dont seem to know alot when it comes to health and fitness. While equipment is decent, there are a few key machines that could be in the gym. Because it's a gym with alot of members, you do get the person their fo attention that take up space on the machines that barley workout while on their phones. The saunas use to always break down and now the new one seems to only operate at certain time and is not 24 hours. Membership is too much for no sauna use. I miss the newer world gym I use to go to with a working sauna, cold pool and plunge pool and steam room, was well worth the same cost as this Oxley Fitness Cartel. Just editing this to confirm that the sauna does close at 9pm, I'm told it's due to safety reason. As if they can't get everyone to sign a form saying if they are using the sauna outside of maned hours they have to follow a set of rules and you use it at you're own risk, so they are not liable for accidents. It's supposed to be a 24 hour gym, and those who work long hours during the gyms maned hours miss out on the full assets the gym is offering, again it's not worth the amount if you can use everything. Also my review was answered saying they would contact me further and never did.

Negative experience: This gym is becoming a joke. I firstly signed up under the condition that they will honour my normal membership payment from my previous gym which they did. I also went out of my way to go ahead with the switch as they have a sauna ( infrared sauna). A few month ago, they decided to increase their price due to some stupid reasons even though i was the first early bird to sign up to the gym. I went along with the price increase as I was still enjoying the gym and particularly the sauna. The sauna then started to break every 2 to 3 days sometimes. The excuse was that people were using or bringing water in the sauna which was short circuting the electrical. So basically people are paying for a gym with less facility, but yet again you are expecting them to pay their full weekly price. This issue with the sauna was so regular that it was becoming a lot less fun to have a good workout since the sauna wont be working anyway. How will a gym like this let this issue go on for so long? i mean infrared isnt something that you should have in a gym in the first place since it willl not be up to the task for gym use. Most of the gym have traditional sauna which are far better and more durable than infrared. The gym then decided to install the traditional one which nearly took them a month or so to get that sorted. I have tried it the first time and was so satisfied with it as this is what the gym should have come with in the first place. I went to have a quick session around 8.45 pm then was planning to sauna too. After finishing my session about 45 minutes later, I realised that the sauna was locked therefore it cannot be assessed and used, which means that it is only operational during staff hours which is utterly disappointing. So for those who train later at night and thinking of using the sauna later on, forget about it as it wont be working. Their excuse in regards to the sauna closing at 9pm is because of health and safety reason. Well let me give you an easy solution to that “DURING STAFF HOURS, LET THE SAUNA WORK NORMALLY AS IT WOULD, AFTER STAFF HOURS, SET THE SAUNA TO 70 DEGREES AND PUT A LOCK ON THE CONTROL PANEL SO PEOPLE DONT FIDDLE WITH THE TEMPERATURE SETTINGS TILL NEXT MORNING, IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT. Also, you can make people sign a waiver makimg them aware that they will be using the sauna at their own risk and FC wouldnt be liable if anything happen to them while using it. IT IS NOT THAT HARD. If i knew in the first place that i will be encountering all these messes, I would have stayed happily with my gym. There are lots of gym out there with great equipments, great service and a true 24/7 facility at the same weekly price or better. If i could have given less than a star, I would have.

Negative experience: Started out great, until they started buget sign ups. Now you can watch 1 scan in and give their 5 friends free access. Over packed to the point you have to turn up at 3am to have space. Beware, you'll be trapped for a 13 month sign up with a 1 month charge plus an extra $250 if you want to cancel early. Now I'm having to pay for 2 gyms. Pretty much a money grab scam. Plenty of better gyms out there.

Negative experience: Called ONCE to enquire about prices and I said my husband and I are not interested. They proceeded to call us multiple times in a day. We blocked their number only for them to call off no caller id and different numbers. How crazy!!!

Negative experience: VERY DISAPPOINTED, there are quite a few things that Fitness Cartel has been a disappointment with. Firstly, I paid and requested a PT, no one was ever assigned, I had called multiple times and was assured I am on the list and will be contact soon.... in the whole 13months of my contract no one had contacted me. Then after my contract had ended 2x $99.80 plus the usual payment amount of $49.90 continued to be taken out of my account even though I had called multiple times and emailed (months before my membership was due to end) to ensure the payments would not continue and nothing was required to be done. My queries in my email was ignored and they responded with saying they will end date it from the 24/04/2024 which will offset my debt? I have read the policy and have notified them well and truly before the end of my membership and so a refund is required. I feel very ignored and disappointed in the business practice and communication from Fitness Cartel, I would not wish anyone to go through the same and so DO NOT SIGN UP. Edit: It has been 2 months after they sent me an email saying their manager will contact me. No contact has been made and they still have not processed my refund and my emails are being ignored. I am going to the QLD ombudsman.

Fantastic experience: Fitness cartel Oxley, what a gym. My 5am start has never been easier than when I am greeted by my two favourite receptionists. Always gets me through. Thx Jules and Chloe for bringing the vibes every morning. Would recommend to anyone at any stage of their fitness journey.

They are really inviting and gives the club an amazing vibe. Having staff like this in reception definitely gives me excitement when I’m coming to train.

Negative experience: Is anyone able to give me some prices on this gym? Have called up and been told that the receptionist don’t know the prices and I’ll have to give all my details to them for a call back from a sales staff member. Seems a little strange to me. I was happy to join depending on price as I read they have shorter term contracts which can be hard to find. However it seems a bit sketchy after reading some reviews and my experience on the phone. Didn’t ask for a quote or a set price just a rough ball park and still couldn’t get answer. Makes me worried they’re being dodgy…

Negative experience: I signed my partner up on my card. When she tried to cancel it took more than a month to cancel and proceeded to keep charging my card 15 payments. I would not recommend this gym at all UPDATE: today after they promised it was sorted we received a debt collection notice for no reason. I would take away that star and leave them with 0 if I could

Negative experience: Do not recommend if you have kids and plan to use the crèche. Very bad experience. Moved gyms because of it. Took the manager about a month to get back to me about my complaint after me having to call and email multiple times.

Negative experience: The gym is great and the equipment but I will say I am not happy with the way the staff treated me and my friend. They are very unprofessional. I will say there is only two people who treated me with common decency the whole year of me being signed up there. It took me 6 months to cancel my gym membership due to Domestic violence. I couldn’t attend the gym from September 2023 because of DV reasons. I tried to call and every time I called the gym I was told the manager is in a meeting they will get back to me. I also left emails and they were never replied to. After me putting my foot down and ringing consistently a few times a day something was done about it 6 months later. I will mention that James the manager tried to challenge me when I tried to cancel due to domestic violence and an injury from a car crash. Luckily I ended up speaking to the female manager and she was very helpful. I also felt uncomfortable at the gym because one of the staff stalked and abused a member at the gym. Not only that I can’t believe how lazy majority of the staff are at the gym when it comes to making smoothies/their job ! I will never be recommending this gym to anyone.

Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I been to, they just hire anyone at this gym and they have the worst attitude. Been here for a year and half and there was no one time I went and it hasn’t been packed. You have to wait for half an hour for a Machine. Also tried to cancel my membership because of an injury, even got a medical certificate and they reckon I still have to pay 30 days. That’s just ridiculous

Positive experience: Paid $20 for a day pass.. when it’s much smaller than Beenleigh and has less equipment. Most machines are so squeaky! Every single bar was rusted! Which was harder to put weights on and off. Very dark you can barely see what your doing. They don’t have a normal elliptical machine either. Air con is quite cold which is good. Bathrooms were nice.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS GYM!!! Back in September I alerted the gym that I needed to cancel my membership due to some very serious personal circumstances. I sent numerous emails and was calling the club multiple times a week at times. Every phone call I would be told “the club manager is in a meeting, I have sent them an email and they will call you back once they’re out of their meeting”. THEY NEVER WOULD. Money continued to be taken out, calls were never returned, nothing was ever actioned. FINALLY, in January of 2024 over 3 months later I had someone send me a cancellation request link. I filled this out and was told someone would call me in a few days to settle the account, no one did… I had to contact them AGAIN and they finally let me pay out the rest of the cancellation fee and assured me the direct debit would be cancelled and it was all settled now. LO AND BEHOLD 2 weeks later fitness cartel takes another payment out of my account!! At this point it’s an absolute joke. Just called up and was told “there’s no one who can do anything about it until Monday” so I just have to wait. Seriously this gym is a scam. The facilities and look of it are nice and some of the employees are nice, but this gym is about MONEY not about your health and fitness. They DO NOT CARE. Do yourself a massive favour and do not sign up to this gym!!!! Oh and all the good reviews you see? When I was there, they would tell people they get a free shake if they left a 5 star review so don’t believe everything you see

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM!!! I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience has been. Someone signed up on my behalf, a month later I was moving out of QLD. I never signed any paperwork and my information on the contract isn’t even correct. Despite my genuine circumstances they refused to allow me to cancel my membership and insisted I pay for the entire year. Clearly, these people are deceiving their customers as you CAN pay a cancellation fee. Each staff member you speak to will provide conflicting information, making it evident that lying is their modus operandi. Absolute scam artists - have lodged a complaint through Fair Trading.

Positive experience: Love the dark environment, friendly staff. Heaps of variety of equipment and space. Their supps section has loads to offer and quality brands too.

Negative experience: Never in my life have I been a member of a gym who's raised my direct debit amount while still under contract, let alone without any form of confirmation on my behalf. Considering the massive influx of new members to the club since it opened (I was a foundation member) the 25% increase is pure greed. I was given 14 days notice of the increase but I'm still required to give 30 days notice to leave. Absolute poor form.

Fantastic experience: Fitness Cartel Oxley is hands down one of the best gym's I've been to and I've been to plenty of gym's in my lifetime. What makes Fitness Cartel Oxley different from most gym's are the friendly and reliable staff members, great gym equipment and amazing personal trainers. Sophie & Ash are always giving me great ideas on my supplement needs. My PT Ben is always making sure I achieve/smash all my fitness goals. I highly recommend this gym!!

The staff's lack of greetings in the morning, perceived rudeness, and a feeling of potential racism have left me feeling unwelcome. Starting my day with such negative encounters has become a recurring issue, making my overall experience at the gym less than pleasant. Despite enjoying the benefits of the facility, the consistent lack of courtesy has prompted me to consider canceling my subscription, even with the additional cost involved. I hope this feedback helps in fostering a more positive and inclusive environment for all members.

Negative experience: I have no issue with staff, i would say they are very nice and accommodating. The only fault is that i didn’t read the fine print. To CANCEL the membership is very very expensive. You will have to pay the cancellation fee and on top of that the 30 days notice. I think personally people who sign you up should atleast let you know that there is an expensive cancellation fee should you terminate your membership.. I cancelled because I am sick very sick it is not just because I felt like cancelling. then there’s the 30 days that i have to pay on top of the cancellation fee. This is not the first gym I have signed up to they don’t have everything yet they cost a lot. Other gyms have better amenities, they’re just far from me. You cant even sit 3 people in the sauna. It’s too small for 2 as well. I am just so disappointed. You think for something costly like this they would give you a warning on top of the fine print or have the fine print high lighted. I would have given 1 star but the staff are nice . The PT I had was also nice.

Negative experience: Enquired about membership online, over a month later Fitness Cartel got back to me but couldn’t give me a membership price over the phone. I declined to go in because I’d already joined another gym. I now get bombarded with numerous phone calls on a daily basis from Fitness Cartel Oxley. I would love to speak to the owner of this establishment in regard to their staff’s attitude and behaviour.

Negative experience: Very unhappy with the management here. Read the contract carefully before joining because they charge you one month extra (and 30 day notice policy that is not informed clearly at the beginning) and also if you happen to not have enough amount in your account on the day of direct debit, even it’s just few minutes late, they charged each of us very high fee every time. They are very slow to see and respond to your emails but they will consistently call us for fee payment on our side. It is costly to break contract and also transferring to another person costs money and that person has to make a new 1 year contract so I didn’t want to do that to another person. I would have given one star if it wasn’t for the creche service. Their creche staff are very nice and have great creche facility. If the management and customer service becomes more genuine it would be nice.

He has made things work out for us and made our experience super smooth. He has made a really good name for himself at Fitness Cartel and we are both really impressed with the amount of flexibility he has been with us. Negative experience: After a year I can say This is certainly worst culture gym I have personally been in. When I first arrived I thought it may just get better because it’s new but def got worse over time. I don’t like giving bad reviews but fitness cartel def earned it. Staff will aggressively upswell you every time you walk through the door. They will overcharge you any chance they get. Contracts are deceptive ( longer than you think). We moved 3 months ago and haven’t been back but still had to pay 4 months of membership. More expensive to transfer or leave than to pay it out weekly. And if you are late on a weekly payment ( could be an hour late), they will charge you double. Calling you every hour until you do pay they extra. Find yourself somewhere better and less scammy.

Negative experience: Nice gym but terrible service. Took over 2 weeks to organise a transfer of my membership as no one would respond to my emails or give helpful info over the phone. Have since managed to transfer my membership to someone else and we are now both paying for the membership? How are we both paying for the one membership? No response to my emails and no one will help me over the phone. Very unhelpful and I am very unhappy regarding this.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym! Amazing facility with amazing staff. Very highly rate Nick especially ! He has helped me throughout the restart of my gymming journey by ensuring my supps were targeted to my goals and plan of attack!! Genuinely the best supps consultant I’ve ever dealt with! Fantastic experience: Great gym to frequent. Spacious with new equipment and still bringing more equipment. Air conditioned, clean bathroom and showers, and equipment layout is nicely designed based on function. The only reason I no longer frequent was due to moving to another state; the staff was very understanding and helpful in easing the end of contract.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to fitness cartel for a few months now it has been an amazing experience, they have so much equipment and plenty of space for different training types. I have been seeing Marko from @marko.maximum.movement and he has done what physiotherapist haven't been able to do, give me back my freedom. I am so much more flexible, my range of motion is so much better and more importantly I'm getting stronger. I'm looking forward to my future with fitness cartel and more importantly Marko. Would recommend this gym to everyone I know. I could go on and on and on but if anyone is reading this to guage weather they should go to this gym or not I recommend it 100% hands down. Negative experience: Nice facility but pity about the service. Its nothing but a surface level hello at the counter. I still have transactions coming out of my account even though my contract has ended and no one will respond to any of the 4 email addressees I have emailed including the support email address. If I owed them money I would have definitely received a call by now or some form of response. Also read you contract carefully, you will actually be signing up for a month longer than the contract term, they are not exactly transparent or forth coming with all of the information.
