Our comment from FitFit Australia about Brunswick Baths:
Brunswick Baths is a vibrant community sports and leisure center located in Brunswick, Australia, offering a wide range of facilities for all ages. One of the highlights is the fantastic 50m outdoor pool, perfect for swimming in the warmer months, alongside a well-maintained indoor pool for year-round use.
Visitors have praised the wide variety of amenities, including:
- Swimming Pools: A heated outdoor pool that remains popular year-round.
- Fitness Facilities: A diverse gym space that offers both cardio and weight training options, with friendly and helpful staff.
- Group Classes: Many appreciate the engaging and professional instructors leading various fitness classes, particularly group sessions like Zumba.
- Family-Friendly Features: The kids' area with water slides and play zones keeps younger visitors entertained.
However, some areas need attention based on user feedback:
- The sauna has been criticized for being too cool and not providing a proper experience.
- Concerns have been raised about the cleanliness of changing rooms and bathrooms, with reports of pests and inadequate maintenance.
- Customer service experiences have been mixed, indicating room for improvement in staff training and response times, especially during busy periods.
Despite some criticisms about cleanliness and service, many users also express their appreciation for the accessibility and community focus of Brunswick Baths, making it a popular spot for local residents. Overall, it serves as a valuable hub for fitness and recreation in the Brunswick area.

Brunswick Baths: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Good outside pool but the sauna and spa need replacing and a cold plunge or shower would be nice
Negative experience: It’s quite disgusting that after a kid pooed in the pool, all they did was take it out of the pool in broken pieces, close it for no more than 20 mins and then open it again. This is why people get sick and now I understand why previously I and my family would get sick every time we would go to Brunswick Bath pools.
Thanks for your feedback, we can confirm that we follow strict policy and procedure when dealing with these types of unfortunate events to ensure we maintain safe pool operating standards. If you would like to discuss this further, please email the Centre directly at [email protected]. Our Management team would be happy to provide more detail on our safe pool practices.
Fantastic experience: Really good swimming pool and good idea for relaxing
Negative experience: I reported a guy being aggressive towards a female gym member. The staff member responded by saying he'd tell the next staff member on. The first staff member left two minutes later and no one spoke to the woman or the guy.
Thank you for leaving feedback regarding your experience. Sorry to hear that the team on shift might not have handled this situation as expected. If you would like to provide some more detail about your experience so the management team can follow-up with the staff involved, please email the Centre directly at [email protected].
Negative experience: so gross :'(
Fantastic experience: How do you spell center?
Negative experience: As a member of the Fitness Passport program, I've been using Brunswick Baths. While the convenience of the program is appreciated, I wouldn't personally pay the full price for this gym due to several issues: -Customer service staff frequently offer inconsistent and often incorrect advice. Frequently staff are guessing at answers when queried, instead of seeking out the correct answer. -As a gym, it's not particularly impressive, and there are better options available at a lower cost close by. -The sauna is consistently underwhelming. I's warm, not hot. -The change room is poorly maintained and humid/poorly ventilated, leaving me feeling the need to shower at home after my workout or swim. -The "Wellness Studio," where yoga classes are held, smells strongly of chlorine. I hope that Brunswick Baths will take these criticisms into consideration and strive to provide a better experience for the community that subsidises it.
Negative experience: Outdoor pool is lovely but the changing rooms aren’t very clean and I’ve seen multiple cockroaches in them. I had one climb on leg whilst I was in the shower too. Could defo do with better cleaning and newer facilities
Negative experience: Visit there just because I saw the 4.3 rating. The outdoor heated pool in winter is quite cold although it displays 28C. The lane feels narrow and has the sonic buzzing sound under water The changing room/ showers stinks like there's no ventilation. The shower is digesuesting like an unkept bus terminal toilet. It has a fixed temperature and low water flow and has to constantly wave at the infra red sensor that works terribly. I don't feel clean after taking a shower there You also have to pay about $4 for using the locker To be fair I only used the outdoor poor. The indoor 25m pool alright. Not going back again
Negative experience: Firstly, the group fitness instructors are fantastic & I would give 5 stars to rate them only. Sadly, I can't say that about the management of the group fitness program. There's so much to critique & too little time! One of the major issues now is when an instructor is sick or goes on holiday, instead of allowing the instructor to organise a replacement for the class, the default standard is to cancel it regardless of whether it is fully booked. The money saving activities include red flagging well-attended classes, telling us the attendance rates aren't high enough, and then removing them permanently from the timetable. Complaining doesn't achieve anything, & I'm sick of wasting my breath. I would think twice before signing up for a membership, you will not get value for money!
Fantastic experience: Very thankful for this establishment and all it offers. Steam/sauna rooms and lap pools are always kept in good, working condition and I highly recommend, if you are looking for a comfortable, modern area.
Negative experience: Worst Sauna in Melbourne! When you can sit in a sauna for 40 minutes and hardly get a sweat on somethings not right. Absolute thievery charging for this service when it barely delivers! Spend some money to fix it!
Negative experience: The lockers in the male change room often don't work and the response from the staff is that there is "nothing they can do." These lockers installed in their building, using their electricity, are totally outside of their control. Oh, they've also covered up multiple disease outbreaks at the baths.
Negative experience: The facilities are filthy at this pool - the bathrooms are beyond foul, the sauna is disgusting and you can pretty much see the tinea on the floor - I never realised as all I used to do is use the outdoor pool (which is nice)… I had to use indoor pool on the weekend with my 6yo… I won’t return and will be cancelling my membership…almost every toilet was filled with human excrement and I couldn’t think of a more unsuitable place for a small child to get changed and use the bathroom. Yuck.
Fantastic experience: First time in Melbourne and really needed to have a swim - was served by a beautiful girl called issy. I’m not sure if she’ll see this but I’d love to take her to dinner sometime
Positive experience: The gym gets very busy at times so you gotta time it right. For serious lifters, this is not the place for you. It's a community center so you'll get a wide variety of people. Staff are friendly . Friday nights are empty, weekday mornings (even early) can be surprisingly packed. Monday, as with all gyms, is the busiest day.
Negative experience: Worst gym and staff I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Go to Wendy Hill. The staff in the gym are rude and only care about you singing up to one of their Person Trainers. Gym is small and overcrowded, it’s like waiting in a club line to use the bench press. Overpriced for what it is. For a better gym in Brunswick I recommend Hammerhouse Gym & for Pools go to Wendy Hill. Brunswick Baths desperately needs new management and renovations.
Fantastic experience: The Brunswick Baths is truly the greatest place to hang out and socialise after a hard day of work. Truly from 8:45pm onwards the vibe drastically changes and becomes social hub for quite the characters to mingle and have a yarn. Your truly in for a treat
Negative experience: Young dude sitting at the reception was extremely unprofessional and when requested to provide more info he said he could tell me what the infos are but had no proper explanation and told me to look online. Why even bother having staff like that at the reception?
Negative experience: My first time using this facility, and a staff member assumed me and my friends had waltzed in the gym without buying passes, and was about to kick us out for absolutely no reason, until we had to go out of our way to show her the bank transaction that stated we had purchased a pass. Absolutely poor, is I can really say, she came off as rude and unprofessional, even going as far as to critiquing my friend who is a new gym goer about his form. Not sure how she thought we got in, but all I know is I will not be returning ever again.
Fantastic experience: fantastic public swimming pool that has a very oldschool sort of art deco interior design. I absolutely love the heat of the sauna and the light pull outside which counterbalances it. You can go to full Scandinavian therapy here for the price of about $11 if you're on a student concession fairor above this is a five star venue
Negative experience: Run by a bunch of idiots. Staff is fine, management couldn't run a bath, let alone a pool.
Positive experience: Community focused, good vibes even though it can get crowded! Some facilities (like showers and changing rooms) can feel a bit old.
Fantastic experience: We have been enjoying all the services, pools are great and the classes, just the jacuzzi gets crowded. I would like to leave a review to PK for her great Zumba classes, are the best classes I had. The music, you work all your body and turn into a 'party' with everyone involved and smiling. Thank you!
Negative experience: Really disappointed with cleanliness and safety of the children's pool. I was swimming with my children today approximately 4 30pm in the indoor children's pool and I happen to have stepped on a small piece of glass that was very sharp. I notified one of the lifeguards. This pool also has a lot of debris (sandy specs) on the sides of the pool. Needs to be cleaned!!
Positive experience: The Monday Morning pool Gym class was great. I had to leave early but wanted to thank the intructor that was running it. He was so great at his job and i learned so many new moves that help strethen core while in water. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Always good to take the kids for a swim on a really hot day!
Positive experience: Friendly staff, indoor and outdoor pools
Negative experience: Gym - too crowded, not professionally maintained or cleaned (see picture). Lockers are filthy. Pools are good though
Negative experience: Outrageous $14.40 just to use the spa?! The entire time I was in there, so was a man with no wrist band, swanning around and taking up space he didn’t pay for. Two staff members chatting nearby did nothing. Remind me why I show goodwill and pay, when I could be like that guy? The change rooms are also filthy, I had to use the family change today, as the female toilets were being cleaned, and there was so much scum on the floor I felt sick. I hope this place is next after Northcote for a revamp!
Positive experience: Do not join Brunswick Baths if you’re planning on using the sauna. It is far too cold. You can easily sit in there for half an hour and not even break a sweat. The rest of the facilities are quite good but the cold sauna was a deal breaker for me.
Negative experience: the prices is to high for the services it's usually busy specially the indoor pool, with kid's' swimming lessons i also noticed ppl don't take shower when they using the Spa .
Positive experience: Why do you have a double lane??? Nice idea, but that's less efficient. Making it 2x separate lanes is much better, more swimmers can fit as you'll have 4 lanes of 'swimmers traffic' vs 2 lanes of 'traffic'.... The double lane might allow overtaking, but no one wants that to begin with... Just make one fast and one medium, we will love you for it.
Fantastic experience: $14.40 to use the wet area only. Three pools. 1/ Outdoor 28⁰c, 50m lap pool with grass on one side. 2/ Indoor 33⁰c, 25m pool which often has classes and an area for laps. 3/ Kids pool. Also has a wonderfully warm spa, a wet sauna, a dry sauna, a gym and a fitness class room. There's a paid parking carpark across the road.
Negative experience: Workers are very rude and during rush hour you'll be lucky if there's a single dumbbell available or even a place to stand. Would not recommend a membership here if your only intentions are gym related, the pool here is fine.
Fantastic experience: What a great centre! Options for the kids, adults, everyone! Pools, gym and group fitness classes. The outdoor pool is heated which is great! And lap availability is on their website so you can choose less busy times. Lots of options for group fitness classes, and you can even book online now! Staff are diverse, courteous and friendly. Change rooms are cleaned regularly and sparkling!
Positive experience: Given the size (small), Brunswick city baths is a great swimming pool. It features an outdoor pool, indoor pool, swimming lessons. Good if you live in Brunswick.
Fantastic experience: The staff here have been very helpful and accomodating, the facility is great for children of all ages.
Negative experience: I recently visited the Brunswick Baths, and I must say it was a truly dreadful experience. The staff (duty manager & aerobics instructor especially) were incredibly rude and unhelpful (and other swimmers too but that is beyond the control of the centre). The pool itself was severely overcrowded, leaving no room to swim without constantly bumping into others. To make matters worse, the lane allocation made absolutely no sense, fast/slow/medium lanes, double lanes, three lanes for aqua aerobics. Overall, I strongly advise against visiting the Brunswick Baths if you're looking for a pleasant lap swimming experience; it was an absolute nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
Fantastic experience: I don't know what the other reviews are on about: - Price is $7 for adult swim entry - other inclusions for gym, sauna and spa are more - Children weren't running around like crazy and this was on a sunday - Pools and facilities were as clean as any other public pool - Outdoor pool was a good temperature and lanes were clearly marked for their speed and purpose - everyone was abiding - Staff were efficient and friendly Glad I came by and didn't waste time travelling half hour out
Negative experience: An absolute hole. I would not go here if the world was on fire. Scummy staff. Deserves zero stars but that option is not available.
Positive experience: Went to the Brunswick Baths and paid entrance for the sauna, steaming, jacuzzi, swimming pools. You pay a bit extra than other Melbourne Baths, but you get worth for what you pay. Constructive feedback for the female change rooms..they were not very clean when I entered....
Fantastic experience: A great place to visit. Excellent amenities, well-maintained, and friendly staff. Gym, pools, spa, sauna, steam room -- this place has the lot! ♂️♂️
Negative experience: The temperature of outdoor pool at the moment is too high as 30 degree. Also the sauna and spa area needs to be cleaned more often. I saw a big cockroach crawling on the wall the other day.. It was really disgusting. I have been a member since 2010 but this is the worst experience of all!!
Negative experience: I was here on a hot day a month ago. A group of young people were harassing people at the pool with a ball, I asked if they would mind going to the basketball courts and then things escalated poorly and quickly. The young people verbally 5 myself and my friend and body shamed us. The lifeguard was powerless. There were way too many people at the pool And their last minute approach was to call the police who escorted multiple groups of people out….. YIKES! and so expensive….
Negative experience: They cater to their lap swimmers mostly, and do not consider kids and patrons wanting to come for a play. Their swim classes take up 90 percent of the indoor pool on most days leaving one lane for nearly 50 patrons to splash around in, it’s ridiculous. They need to balance it out more. It’s also expensive for a swim and quite dirty.
Positive experience: Nice pools but extremely expensive. It's $17 for casual entry to use the pool only. This doesn't include locker hire (an extra $3) nor sauna/jacuzzi. Not sure why it's so expensive. Other public pools charge well below $10 for casual use of their indoor and outdoor pools. It gets very busy and there are often events on so lanes can be cramped. Not my first choice but it wasn't a terrible experience.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service by email and phone and in person staff often refuse to help and direct you to online assistance. Terrible suspension policy during COVID and illness more generally. Zero regard for their members.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for years, the staff are friendly, the location is accessible, the members are great, the equipment in the gym is top notch and the pool is wonderful (the outdoor pool) they even put in new lockers in the changeroom!
Negative experience: My son slipped & fell at Brunswick Baths trying to get to his swimming lessons - kids have to walk across a narrow, tiled slippery divider at the pool to get to the inner lanes where their teachers are… He slipped and his whole leg went between the wall & a railing. He lost a piece of skin - he got this big bleeding abrasion on his inner knee & cried & was limping. Worse of all was trying to get a lifeguard to help us ! Good luck with that. Never returning.
Negative experience: The gym is too small. Only three benches and limited machines so you’re often waiting or having to alter your workouts with different equipment. Not great for consistency. The core area is tiny and the stretching area is where people walk. Weird. The pool is great and the sauna and steam room (when clean) is good too. Shame about the tiny gym.
Fantastic experience: Good facilities to recovery from a hard running plan. Utilised the spa, sauna and wading pool.
Fantastic experience: Baby to young children play area inside, as well as a splash zone outside. Heated indoor pool and huge outdoor pool. Also has a sauna and steam room.
Fantastic experience: Not much to say, says what it does on the box! Great to have a facility like this in reach for all.
Positive experience: The best of the inner north pools, full 50m outdoor pool with reasonable number of swimmers, well protected from the wind and open late all year round, clean. Spa and sauna are decent. Indoor pool is only 20m though.
Fantastic experience: 50m outdoor pool and a great spa/sauna/steam room setup. Also has an outdoor basketball court and a gym. Perfect for a sunny day or for a sweat session.
Negative experience: I'm a member, and lately, the sauna, steam, and spa areas are overcrowded with patrons. This area is usually very dirty. The same can be said about the change rooms. Disgusting to be honest. Showers dont work properly. Hot water in summer cold in winter. Poorly designed showers. You don't know whether your having a shower or just getting some parts of your body wet. The low-pressure water literally drops at your feet. Also, some of the patrons aren't wearing spa bands, and staff aren't doing regular band checks to ensure only paying patrons use the spa, sauna & steam areas. It's time management took some action to improve the facilities.
Fantastic experience: I'm lovin the steam room, spa, sauna area. Very clean. Thank you.
Positive experience: We usually come here for my lil one to enjoy a good splash. The water slide with water guns in the kid's indoor pool is a big win. The water and the inside space is quite warm which makes it quite confortable. The indoor adult pool has a very long ramp which is a good intro for my kid to the bigger deeper pool. They usually have floating tubes (noodles), paddle boards free laying around to use at your leisure which is very welcoming. There's a big outdoor pool and water play area which is great in summer. You can ask staff to turn on the water play in summer if they are off. I'm guessing is to save on water? If they are, that's great! No problems asking. My only downside is through winter, the doors to go from the inside to the outside pools (or viceversa) are right in front of the kid's pool, so whenever they get opened, if you are in the kid's pool area, you will feel the cold air smashing through which is not that pleasant this time of the year. Not a problems for some people but I personally when I'm at the pool with my kid I can really feel it.
Positive experience: It's a very nice pool, but the indoors pool doesn't need two large automatic doors to the outside in winter. When it's around 10 degrees outside, surely one of the doors (or maybe even both) could be closed, so the cold air doesn't blow in all the time.
Fantastic experience: Super pool for families and fitness. 3 pools to choose from, with a fantastic heated paddling pool with a small slide for the younguns. Very friendly staff. So great to have this and Oak Park so close. Great community pool!!
Fantastic experience: This is how a gym should be! Been to many in my time but these guys take the cake. New gym equipment to, all Precor, best of the best.
Fantastic experience: Brunswick Baths offers a wide range of services for all ages both pool based and gym based. I am 72yo and use pool group exercise, weights group exercise and guided weight training in the gym.
Positive experience: Great pool. The receptionist had a bit of an attitude but great pools otherwise
Positive experience: Swimming facilities are good but the locker rooms need to be updated - it's freezing in winter!
Fantastic experience: I just got my workout plan done by Joanna and she is amazing! The best instructor I ever had. Thanks Joanna! I love the gym facility, staff are friendly, the facility is very clean, and the equipment are pretty good. Fitness class are great, I am enjoying more each time I attend!
Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Great facilities with really friendly, accommodating staff.
Fantastic experience: Things seem pretty much back to normal at Brunswick Baths. I love the 24/7 gym access for those early mornings when I want to get a workout in before they open.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, nice and clean pool!
Negative experience: Offended and appalled by the service. My partner and i had to drive back around RMIT as the roadworks on Dawson Street were happening which i understand that road works are not the cause of the Brunswick Baths. But the business operates within the works zone and there was no notice from the business that the front entrance and subsequently the car parks in the area were blocked off. Had to park at Woolworths and could not make the walk up Saxon St as physically unable. I had made a booking for 10:30am and was arriving on time but i was then made late as the poorly placed detour signs by construction workers then there were no signs on the back "health club" entrance door to advise how to get to the front of the baths as Saxon Street had only private parking. The health club door was closed off with no way to get inside besides a phone call when my phone was not on me as i was there for a casual 45 minute swim and there was no information on lockers in the facility so we had left them at home as a precaution. My partner walked up Saxon St and wait at the front door, with no doorbell or way of advising staff he was there without making a call. He stood there for a few minutes with nobody attending to the door to allow him in. By this point it was 10:55am and my partner had to come back to Woolworths and we drove away. I had requested a refund via their contact email address and was given a refund which is great which made this review 2 stars. I was then met with a lenthy response stating that i could have walked the bike path but i was not told where it was then opened my maps app to find it along the side of the business and railway when i had gotten home. I unfortunately was not aware the bike path was there as i've never visited the baths before and the path was not well seen from the road. In the email i was told that people have to arrive 5 minutes before their booked session to be allowed in but also that we would have been allowed in any time during our session. Which is contradictory in itself. I am displeased, annoyed and dare i say embarrassed to have to explain that i am disabled, to have the blame placed on me for not doing thorough research of the areas to walk and there was no disabled parking or general parking in Saxon Street or anywhere close to the entrance then have my funds refunded anyway. If it truly is my fault why would i have been refunded. Doesn't make sense. Too bad if you want to reduce your contact with people due to the pandemic also but you can't access the closest possible entrance. It's a couple minutes walk for a fully able person but unfortunately i am not. Not planning any future visits as would not want to be embarrassed and told off face to face instead.
Fantastic experience: I have always had a great customer experience. I recently had to reluctantly cancel my membership, due to moving house, and Ryan was incredibly helpful and thoughtful.
Negative experience: I went with my 3 year old. My experience is only as a dad, and it was a below average venture. Keep looking for a better swim.
Fantastic experience: Short of words to describe how decent this place is. Membership prices are filthy cheap compared to all the 24/7 gyms around. The Pool, Spa, Sauna and steam room are amazing and the indoor pool makes you want to swim in winters.
Fantastic experience: Great gym facilities, pools, spa, sauna and steam room always kept really nice and clean.
Positive experience: The gym feels a little too small since the upgrade, particularly the weights area. I preferred the old setup, mainly because it was a bigger area and didn't feel as crammed. Would be great to see them extend them gym onto the basketball court. Great gym with great staff, just disappointed with the smaller size.
Fantastic experience: Excellent 50m outdoor pool. Good indoor kids play and pool. Spa nice but often hectic and busy
Positive experience: Beautiful pool and service, great past time and hobbie
Positive experience: The outdoor pool is nice and clean, like all nice public pools in heavily populated areas it can get very busy if you come at peak times.
Fantastic experience: Prepare for disappointment on a hot day, you may not get in. overall it's a great place with the new renovations it's fantastic
Negative experience: Racist people come there to swim. Yesterday I felt so. When I was swimming in a fast lap a lady came to me and talked with me in such a way there was other lap available when I was resting for a while. Never coming there again where racist people come very often.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff answered all of my childcare questions patiently and thoroughly. Very flexible and helpful short term childcare options.
Positive experience: Wonderful indoor pool for kids with a slide down there middle.
Positive experience: The refurbishment that is currently underway is looking great. Good pool for during the day swim especially now it is starting to heat up. The staff involved in running group sessions are absolutely amazing and ensured that this rating was going to be nothing less than a four star. Special mention to Issy and Georgio for the work they’ve done with our small groups. Always been fun!
Positive experience: Nice facility currently undergoing renovations. Pool area is great, with a parallel grassy area with some shade. Gets busy on hot days and the shade goes fast though. Less of the peacocking and trendy parade than the fitzroy pool tends to be. Staff I spoke to were all very friendly and helpful. Also has gender neutral change rooms seperate to the gendered bathrooms.
Fantastic experience: Good pools, nice staffs. The service was excellent. They had noticed that my daughter had been booked into two classes in a week which was not supposed to. I was very amazed with David McDonald who had kindly informed and fixed the problem.
Negative experience: Just coming out of Brunswick bath and never go back there! So dirty! Never seen such a dirty place in my whole life!!! Everywhere was full of hair Bathroom!shower!changing room! Steam room! Spa! The only thing I can say is that they’ve had friendly staff!
Positive experience: This facility has a great outdoor pool, even though it's next to the trainline. The low review is mainly due to the locker system, one of the worst examples of overcomplicating something simple with technology I've seen for a while. It costs $3 which hardly seems fair for a public facility. And instead of a key you get a credit card. Which really isn't helpful when you're trying to go between sauna, spa and steam room. Made for a frustrating overall experience.
Positive experience: Great local community gym with excellent clean facilities. Staff super helpful if you have any questions about the different machines.
Fantastic experience: Excellent swimming facility, indoors & out, great for kids, nice & warm in winter
Positive experience: Nice swimming pools. Recently been renovated and the bathrooms are quite decent with the heaters and more cubicles available.
Positive experience: Good pool and sauna, change rooms are a bit first, especially showers which also lacked water pressure
Positive experience: Clean enough, friendly staff. Highlight for the kids probably the water cannons and the little water slide. Ideal for babies and toddlers. Bigger kids probably get bored soon. Unless it's summer and they can show off at the outside pool. :-)
Fantastic experience: Lyn for cycling every Tuesday, Thurday and Saturday is amazing. She challenges you to the very end and her encouragement to the class keeps you going. Her understanding and application of interval training really sets her apart. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: I've been coming here since I was a kid. They're always so clean and the staff are really friendly. Its the best place in Brunswick in the summer.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place with two big pools. Great service. The only negative is that they do have some problems with damage machines
Positive experience: Great for a swim. Though gym is super pricey. $25 ish for one round. I'd suggest going to Fittox for the gym which is $8. For a swim. This is the place.
Fantastic experience: I use the Gym rather than the swimming pool so my review is focused on this feature - new equipment has been recently installed in the cardio room, with the weights room regularly re-sit to reflect varied priorities and emphases. The staff are friendly, polite and professional, with the provision for program reviews and personal training sessions.
Fantastic experience: 50metre outdoor pool with a sun catching grassy area Indoor pool spa sauna and steam room Gym personal training Exercise classes Half court basketball area All make for a comprehensive fitness and leisure hangout for Brunswick and beyond I know people who come from footscray to use it
Fantastic experience: My local gym! A really terrific space which has great staff always ready to answer a question whenever you have one! It's a great facility: decent gym space with a separate cardio area, indoor and outdoor pool's, group fitness stuff, and spas/saunas---- pretty awesome in terms of what it has to offer and for a pretty decent price if you've got a membership! But sign up when they're doing their 'no start up fee' periods to avoid paying extra cash (it'll save you about $150!!!) Don't go at 8am or 4pm because they're peak hours for people to be using the gym in my experience: someone's always on the triceps pull down machine and gosh, ain't that a pain when you wanna do a sesh haha I joke, but srsly. It's busy so go either real dang early or in the evening.
Positive experience: Good all-round YMCA facility that does well to keep the large and diverse Brunswick community fit. Great all year outdoor 50 metre pool that gets busy in peak times, with a narrow stretch of grass down one side for people wanting to catch some extra sun. Play area for kids which is open letter in the day. The indoor toddler and 25m pools are great. My kids are still going through the YMCA swimming program which run 30 minute sessions on afternoons and weekends.
