Fantastic experience: BEST ROCK CLIMBING VENUE IN AUSTRALIA!!!! Fell in love with climbing here. The best staff, they clearly love what they're doing & care about climbing. Great route setting with problems that are interesting, diverse & also feel SAFE. Little details like free bandaids, fairly priced chalk refills & free sanitary products in bathrooms makes me feel welcomed & valued, genuinely. I appreciate all the effort UC puts in to make their gym a safe, supportive & wholesome environment for climbers. Walls are reset all the time so there's almost always something new to work on. LOVE YOU URBAN CLIMB

Negative experience: Went here when travelling to Brisbane. I was doing top rope. A lead climber started climbing next to me. Next thing I know he was above me and doing a dynamic move. A staff member came, she looked at him and just walked away. He did not fall thankfully. But it was really dangerous. He was right above me. It made me question the professionalism of the staff there.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym and friendly staff. On my first visit, I was super scared and afraid because I have never been before. However, the staff are super friendly and most people there are approachable and nice. If you're going for the first time, I recommend wearing a pair of black socks (shoe hire) and light clothing (chalk may stain your clothes temporarily).

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than five stars, I would. What an amazing environment! The climbs are super well set, and there is such a variety of really, really good climbs. The vibe is so welcoming and the staff are absolutely FANTASTIC! Not to mention the coffee is absolutely delicious. I love that they have a cafe as part of the wall. We were just absolutely blown away by this place and cannot thank the staff enough

Fantastic experience: Bouldering routes are very interesting and well set, especially the harder routes. Not really interested in ropes so can’t comment on that. Nice gym too.

Positive experience: The climbing is decent and the route setting is mostly fine. If you want a coffee you should probably order it before you climb. That way it might be ready by the time you're done because I think they fetch the beans from Peru for each one.

Positive experience: Wouldn’t recommend for under 13s parties. Booked a 12th birthday party here (they have dedicated bookings for parties). They are supposed to come with a dedicated instructor. Website wasn’t clear that people need to be 13 to belay a climber so we needed to last minute acquire some extra adults to help out. The instructor ensured everyone was properly harnessed and the adults would be safe to belay then disappeared. The instructor did not help belay children. 12 year olds also can’t use the bouldering area, there too climbers must be over 13 (an insurance risk apparently). It’s worth observing that they will not store cold food for the party either. They were lovely in assisting with parking (in a very limited parking space). It is a great venue for indoor climbing (it’s massive with a great social group to back it up). It’s even pet friendly although I don’t really understand why you’d bring your dog to get tied up near the entrance. It also has a nice looking on site cafe although I’ve not actually tried it out.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to bouldering gyms around the world but I must say, few rival the route setting quality found at Urban Climb. Good setting, to me, is when you still do cool moves on climbs well below your level, and you learn something new on each problem. A lot of other gyms incorporate difficulty by making a move reachy, but I rarely experience that at Urban.

Negative experience: I had high hopes for our visit to Urban Climb but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. Despite arriving fully sober after a long journey (over 1 hour), we were denied entry because we purchased one drink from their facility. The staff did not tell us before we purchased one drink each that we couldn’t climb afterwards. Keep in mind we waited an hour and a half for our group of friends to arrive so we were completely sober and under the limit by that time. While I understand safety regulations, it was disheartening that this policy was not communicated to us upon booking or arrival. The lack of clarity and communication was absolutely disgraceful and left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. They only informed us in front of our whole group of friends just before entering to rock climb that we could not climb which left us feeling embarrassed and alienated. Additionally, the staff who served us was a new employee who failed to inform us of this rule before purchasing. This is NOT our fault and the employee could have been adequately trained before serving customers. There were no signs to let us know of this rule and NO communication but we were still denied and no sympathy was given from the staff or manager. Ultimately, we were left with no choice but to leave, missing out on what could have been an enjoyable climbing experience. Hopefully, Urban Climb will improve their communication and policies to ensure a more positive experience for future people.

Fantastic experience: Urban Climb West End is an awesome place to climb. It features both a rope climbing gym and a bouldering gym. However, please note that children under 13 years old are not allowed to climb in the bouldering gym. Personally, I love climbing as a hobby, so I really enjoy coming here. I highly recommend going to this climbing gym.

Negative experience: Missed my Uber because they spent 5 minuets on their laptop before making my coffee. Also gave me the wrong size out of spite.

Negative experience: Been a member for over a year, gym is big. Problem is that unless you go late afternoon and have to where it with hundreds of people, during the day most of the time lots of walls are closed for works.. we pay full rate and expect full access to the gym..you should work on walls when the gym is closed as it happens for every other business

Fantastic experience: A great climbing gym, I believe currently the largest boulder gym in the country? At least definitely in Queensland. There’s a wide variety of problems, and although busy there is plenty of space. The circuit wall is great for training.

Fantastic experience: If you are a tourist climber visiting from afar for a couple of weeks in Brisbane, then Urban Climb is an unbeatable deal. One gets two weeks of climbing on a single first timer fee. There are 3 gyms that are very close in proximity to one another, so a great option to take care of that pulling on plastic itch. The setting was nicely varied, with a slight emphasis on more comp style dynamic climbing, particularly at West End location. Thanks Urban Climbing!

Negative experience: Another business signed up to the cashless QR code b.s. Boycott till they fix this.

Positive experience: Good amount of problems in the gym ranging in difficulty. Without air con it’s really hard to climb for a long period of time in the gym. The gym can become quite crowded but I like the capacity tracker on the website.

Positive experience: I have been a member for a few years, and West End gym needs a bit of investment and refresh, it feels old and it really needs to get Air Con installed. Sometimes it gets over 35-40 on the walls, which is way too much and close to being dangerous to climbers. With membership fee quite high, they could do better. Staff is good and friendly.

Fantastic experience: We are members in Melbourne and visiting for the holidays. Kids had a fantastic time top roping. Grades are different here- ropes are also graded using the colour grading system used in the Boulder section. Makes it hard to know what you’re climbing but it did not deter from the fun- routes were creative and offered many styles- their overhang section had top ropes which Melbourne doesn’t have so it gave the kids a chance to try something new. Boulder section is in a different building and is huge- you’ll have to visit many times to get through all the climbs. Though some walls looked sparse (I guess it’s hard to fill in so many walls), you’ll never run out of climbs here (there are regular resets). Expensive for a casual visit but membership well worth it as you can use it at all their locations.

Positive experience: Shocked that with so many members across 6 facilities that the gym doesn’t have air con, it’s a lot harder to climb in a sauna spend less than half the time here compared to other bouldering gyms, problems are technical with fewer holds due to lower walls.

Positive experience: My son and I had a great time. Although their website says it’s free for first visit. I paid 80+ for two of us including the gear hire. It would have been nice if it was discussed at the counter. I could have done the casual weekly membership and it would have been cheaper. Parking on site is limited. For someone who doesn’t live in the City make sure you download the App for street Parking. It’s my second time doing the wall climbing and I must say I am enjoying it. The demo was very informative and helpful for beginners like us. The place is beginner friendly and they have bouldering options as well.

I would love to visit again as it was just a day’s experience, but they offer a two-week free trial. I could not visit many times due to lack of time, but it is a amazing place❣️

Fantastic experience: I've only been twice, yep total newbie but I love it! It's well worth the money and definitely worth a try if you want to get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. The staff are super friendly and happy to give you tips and advice which I really needed! I'll be back with my kids next time. Cheers.

Negative experience: My partner waited for 30 mins if not longer for someone to come and show him the safety instructions, after the guy said only 5-10 mins. There was three workers just talking and kept looking at my boyfriend knowing full well he was waiting, we eventually got tired of it and left, so they got his $30 and he didn’t even get to enjoy himself after really wanting to do it.

Fantastic experience: My favorite place in Brisbane. For first-timer, you can pay $26 and shoes hire then free entries for the next 2 weeks, including gym and yoga! What a great way to start your climbing experience. People here, either staff or climbers are so friendly. Easy to make friends and learn from others. They change routes for a side of wall once a time. You can barely finish all lines in a week. So really fun and I visit 4 times a week!

Positive experience: I love everything about this place But one thing must be fixed as the bathroom I’d neutral and one out of three toilet is always OUT OF ORDER How many ppl in & out a day in this place ?? I assumed there will be more than heaps I believe they can afford to build at least 5 bathrooms It’s not clean to use male & female together

Fantastic experience: Great place to climb, just went for my first return to climbing (in general) in a year and loved it. I used to be a regular and I can't say anything has changed much which is terrific. Still bustling, regularly updated and very well presented, with a nice availability of spicy water as a reward for a well done day. Staff were very friendly and helpful as always.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. It gets a bit crowded during the weekends. But overall it's amazing. The place is huge and the routes are constantly changed. However, it would be awesome if there was at least some sort of V-rating system indication, because even the same colored routes will often have a big difference in terms of difficulty.

Negative experience: Workers were rude and not welcoming at the gym. Completely overreacted when there was a little bit of slack, they ran over to me proceeded to scratch my arm and freak me out. Doesn’t feel homely like other gyms I have been to, overall do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Went for the first time today and really enjoyed it. It was so hot though, so dress accordingly. Free water which is fabulous! A nice cafe attached to it as well.

Negative experience: Good atmosphere and people. Overall business structure is terrible - Poor UI on their website, am a member but their cancellation procedure is one of a kind… From what staff have told me, they only do one lead course a month… which holds only 6 spots… considering the population of climbers in Brisbane and the member count at Urban Climb, they need to consider allowing more classes as those limited 6 spots go very quickly and forces potential clients to look elsewhere - bad for business and a bad experience for the climbers who forever wait to participate in a course.

Fantastic experience: A great place for climbing. They have a bouldering gym as well as climbing walls with ropes. It's better if you come with a partner, but they have a couple auto-belay systems too, so you can use a rope on your own. All equipment can be hired here including shoes.

Fantastic experience: IMO the best bouldering & rock climbing gym in Australia. Biggest Urban Climb branch, too. Bouldering AND ropes! :) Very big with tonnes of routes. Free WiFi, free finger tape and an extensive water station with a sparkling water tap! Amazing. Very nice 2-week trial period for ~$30. Excellent job guys -- was able to use after initializing trial period in Melbourne :)

Fantastic experience: I love to go bouldering here. Such a nice big open area with great facilities and a nice bar / cafe area. Friendly staff, pet friendly and a great atmosphere. They also have locations in milton and newstead so if you feel like some new climbs they’re not far away. Despite saying that they update this one every week with something new to challenge yourself. They even have a training wall and gym equipment! If you’re looking to get fit and have some fun, this is the place for you!

Negative experience: Good bouldering and staff are nice. The communication regarding opening hours is abysmal… turn up at 9.00am when their website, doors and other formats say they are open at 8, along with 6-10 other people just to find out they aren’t open until 10. No notification or signs from Urban Climb, only angry posts in Facebook groups to advise us what’s happening. Definitely won’t be returning… their competitors are looking a lot better and more communicative (and cheaper).

Fantastic experience: You'll froth like a beer ad. Comfortable cafe, densely packed spray wall, two dedicated circuit walls, a handful of exotic problems and parking options. You could easily take a laptop here and work all day with climbing breaks every now and then.

Positive experience: Overall a great climbing gym with friendly and helpful staff. The only issue for me is that it's a little too expensive, particularly for members. It's only cheaper to become a member if you are climbing more than once a week, and even then only by a little (depending on whether you bring your own gear). Another issue, which isn't really the gym's fault, is in the busy hours - I often get really frustrated when some groups of climbers decide to purposely sit under a climb to put on their gear in order to 'reserve it' for themselves; however, often they will spend a lot of time talking etc and not actually climbing, which stops anybody else using the climb when there are often no others available. Pretty sure this is against the rules, but it isn't really enforced by the staff from what I've experienced. Other than those minor issues, it's a great place to work out with a partner and the climbs are changed regularly enough that it doesn't get too boring.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time at Urban Climb West End on Saturday and I had such a great time! Special mention to Alex who did my safety demonstration and training. She was so lovely, bubbly, personable, funny, and it was obvious that she loved her job. She’s a wonderful presenter and an asset to your team. I look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic experience: I actually loved it here, even though I thought I wouldn’t. Climbs were challenging but appropriately graded. I was so happy I could do some purple ones on my first time ever, and I am definitely lacking in the upper body strength department. All I can say is that technique goes a long way. Found out you can bring dogs here too, that just made the place get even better in my books!

Fantastic experience: The bouldering is excellent. Holds are clean and sets are well thought out. Something for everyone. Plenty of slab climbs and a few dyno's if that's your thing. Staff are friendly. Just be prepared to walk a little if you drive as car parks can be hard to find in peak times.

Positive experience: I'm a climber of more than a decade, I have done outdoor rescues. Urban climb is AWESOME! I love the places they have and the community is awesome, there is always someone to talk to. The issue I have is - I brought a work friend down because we had a night off, he had never climbed before. The instructor did not tell the new people how to lock off the rope, so I personally told my belayer to lock it on his thigh and the instructor told me not to interupt and spent the rest of the introduction trying to prove he knew more than me. Basically as a climber, I feel like your "training" is severly slack.

Fantastic experience: visited the Westend and Milton gym today with my boyfriend and can happily say it was a positive and friendly staff experience for both gym’s. at Milton i was helped by 2 gentlemen; Cameron and Sam who were happy to assist with what walls to climb on and made us aware of the safety measures. At Westend the staff were more than happy to make sure we were okay and settled into the climb. always a positive experience when i come here and happily recommend it to my friends.

Negative experience: This was my first ever experience rock climbing and was quite nervous to try it. The girl that lead my orientation on Saturday Feb 19 was extremely rude to me, yelled in my face, snatched my rope from me repeatedly because I was trying to get the movement right. I suggest if she is this rude to customers, she should be working a different job. Disgusting and extremely rude.

Fantastic experience: Great climbing gym with extensive bouldering and rope climbing options which is great. Would love some self-belay options in the ropes section BUT the availability of lead climbing was a real bonus too. Cannot recommend enough. So good. Don't miss great coffee next door at Uncommon Ground!

Fantastic experience: First time at Urban Climb West End. We did the bouldering on Saturday, then top rope on Sunday. The bouldering was amazing, great setting, very diverse and the largest bouldering gym I’ve ever seen! The staff were very sociable and great to deal with. The demo session was nice and quick. The top rope room is massive, definitely wasn’t used to the high climbs, wasn’t long before getting pumped! Very satisfying though, again, great setting, they’ve got crimpy climbs, slopey climbs, crack climbing and even lead climbing! The staff were nice but seemed quite stressed out! Only disclaimer is if it’s your first time, prepare for a long wait before climbing, we got there just after the demo session so had to wait 30mins for the demo which took a further 30mins to complete because of so many people. Not really Urban Climbs fault, too bloody popular I guess! Just assume a while wait. The cafe is a cool idea but the guy who works there wasn’t overly friendly unfortunately. Overall a great experience and not overly expensive. If I lived in Brisbane I would definitely get a membership and enjoy all the different gyms. Thanks guys, will be back - highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: After bouncing around climbing gyms, I finally landed on Urban Climb. There are two main reasons, number one the climbs are fun, challenging and reset often and two, I’m addicted to the mushroom toasty from uncommon ground cafe.

Fantastic experience: Biggest bouldering hall of all three Urban Climbs, plenty of different routes to keep you interested and learning. The staff and community at Urban are always exceptional. Also has ropes section for those that way inclined. I will say though this is the hottest of the Urban Climbs as well, gets quite hot during summer and the fans struggle to keep up.

Negative experience: Bad experience, definitely not worth with kids. It took wait too long since i paid to just be able to climb, one hour according to my back statement. Also staff barely using face masks despite covid.

The staff were super friendly and informative, the safety precautions were definitely top tier. Fantastic experience: Urban climb is amazing, climbing is a great way to stay fit, and is an impressive workout, but more importantly a great, fun hobby. I have gotten several friends and family members into climbing and they love it! Urban climb west end is the crown jewel of the climbing gyms, with top rope, bouldering and lead climbing, theres something for everyone, i could not recommend anywhere better for it. I love it.

Fantastic experience: My favourite spot for a climb and the most spacious of Urban Climb venues. West End has both bouldering and top rope. The staff are very friendly and community is welcoming. Love making friends with all the dogs too! Mostly just street parking available, which can sometimes be hard to find during the busier hours at night.

Fantastic experience: I normally go to Newstead cuz it is close to my place. It was first time to go west end. It was sooo good. Biggest place in Brisbane. Milton and Newstead are bit small size but West end has lots of blocks. It was good fun. Good to kill time. Me and my friend spent more than 2hrs Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Good facilities and friendly staff BUT hugely let down by their unclear pricing structure, outrageous cancellation policy, and outsourced (and uncontactable) direct debit billing provider

Fantastic experience: Always great to go get a great climb in, super friendly staff and very conscious of the Covid restrictions. If you're an avid climber or a casual one like myself this is a great place to climb!

Positive experience: Better now they have expanded the number of climbs. A bit pricey per climb and hard to find a park on Saturday mornings.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place, awesome vibes, awesome peeps and great coffee. The boulder hall is very big, the boulder problems are always fun, the spray wall is great with the stokt app although I'd prefer a moon board but maybe one day in Newstead on second floor maybe? The training area is great, nice variety of campus rungs, 3 circuit boards. The ropes area is a big older but the problems are always great, the place can get extremely packed later in the evening or throughout the weekends. The gym area is currently being refurbished but the yoga studio is nice for stretches. Overall love the place.

Fantastic experience: Had a lot of fun in the Boulder Hall. Lots of routes to choose from. It does get very busy in peak times though. But I would definitely keep climbing here
