Club Sapphire Merimbula

Fantastic experience: Food was very tasty - as it always is. We had a lovely meal and took liberty of the courtesy bus home. Great service from all. Thank you. Look forward to next visit.

Positive experience: Having eaten here numerous times before, I was somewhat disappointed this time. I ordered the Surf n Turf. This was well priced at $19 that also included a beer. Unfortunately, it came out about seven minutes after I had ordered it. It was quite apparent that the steak had been cooked in a microwave as it was gray in colour and didn’t resemble a normal grilled steak, plus it was quite tough and was cooked rapidly. I then went to order desert at the counter but the young lady taking orders said that I had to go to the cafe counter that was next to the counter she was working at. I waited there for a couple of minutes for someone to serve, this despite the fact that she wasn’t serving anyone at the time. She should learn how to smile too. Having said that, when I was shown to a table, the waitress, who was a lot older, was very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: We feel welcome every time we visit from Wollongong. The bar staff are excellent and serve with a smile. The food staff are so efficient. No long waits for meals and never any dirty dishes left for more than a minute. Other clubs and eateries could learn a few things from Club Sapphire. A great choice of meals and reasonable prices.

The Indonesian meal was lovely and the accompanying wine complimented the food. Very appreciative of this dining opportunity. Thank you to all of the staff for their service and warm welcome.

Negative experience: Food was Good, but on being served my Meal, that came in a Bowl, the Spoon supplied was actually lying in the Sauce. I had to call the Waitress back and asked to replace it with a clean one, It should never have been served up like that, very slack

Positive experience: Food here is great but not as good as the RSL. Better than Tura Beach but here has some great weekly specials for $19.90 where it includes a meal, drink, and savings. Jason is the man with welcoming when you give out your ID or membership to show him before eating here.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of parking available. Easy entrance to the club. Wide open spaces and lots of tables surrounding the bar and the bistro. We had some of the lunch time specials. The prices were excellent. The food was fast, well prepared, delicious, and generous for the price. There are plenty of cakes and good coffee at the attached cafe. There are great big windows with a view of the blue sky and the blue mitre 10 store. Thank you and excellent meal and pleasant experience.

Positive experience: Disappointing dinner experience. Went there on a Saturday afternoon...place was packed! Was hoping for a nice, simple, reasonably priced pub meal; instead it's a bistro menu. Bistro offering high end food at fancy restaurant prices. Ordered nachos and a Caesar salad. Nachos were cold and the salad has too much dressing. Alternatives to fancy bistro meals are not good.

Fantastic experience: The food is uniformly excellent and the service is brilliant. They know how to deal with large crowds so the wait times are short even when the club is full. They do an excellent job on all the usual club food staples but also have some interesting dishes available.

Positive experience: The pepper pie with vegetables. Was a fantastic combination of fresh veg. Plenty of meat in the homemade non greasy pastry. A true delight. Flavour of pepper was mild and thick luscious gravy. Yummo

Positive experience: Despite having a booking we waited 20 minutes with 2 hungry kids to be seated. They may had been better off having an extra waiting line for bookings. The food was great though we really enjoyed it

Positive experience: Crumbed lamb cutlets,not cooked properly, need brown onion gravy, otherwise crumbs ordinary...need steak knife to go out with plate, knives at table can't cut anything. Expect dinner to be better.

Negative experience: We went to the main bistro tonight, Oct 26. The girl at the cake section didn’t look happy and was very unhelpful. The food was not in accordance with dinner menu description. We must have been spoilt by other restaurants in Merimbula that comparatively speaking, this is the worst.

This is not a paid advert Really great food and service Been a fair few years since I had a meal here and the friendly service and great food definitely has kept continuing over the years! Highly recommend if you want quick and friendly service this place is definitely the place to eat! Bar service is also absolutely the real country service you will receive! Thanks again to the team from check in to check out for the warm welcome and being treated as a welcome guest! Definitely the best service and most respectful service I’ve seen in such a long time!

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t fault it. All the staff were very friendly from the guy at the front desk to the lovely service staff. They are very quick to bring out the food and it was delicious and hot. No sooner had I ordered and went to the bar for drinks the kids meals were being put on the table. Kids were happy they got ice cream included with their meal and that there was a play area out the back and I was able to grab a slice of their beautiful lemon cake for the road. We will definitely be back!

Negative experience: The employees where the most inhospitable people I have ever come across in a local establishment in this area. Reg, and the man at the front counter on the 3rd of October were so sour and negative in their attitudes that I got a takeaway and left a poker game were i was prepared to stay all night, as I was winning, instead of being treated with annamosity. Other employees had to intervene as the employee reg continued to harass me undeservingly, as I left the premises after just getting a membership, which was painful in itself as the front counter employee was horrible.

Fantastic experience: The meals were outstanding! We had the chilli bug pasta, crumbed lamb cutlets, famous rissoles and the roast of the day we all loved our meals and the service

Positive experience: I had the special Ling with Balmain Bugs. The Ling was good but one Balmain Bug was a very reasonable size BUT the second was 1/3 the size of the other. Making it look like a Mother and baby. Ver disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Had a great meal once again! They had spag bol on the menu as a special and even a kids portion. Made a suggestion to the chef to pretty pretty please keep this on the kids menu for good! My kid loved it and this would become our go to family spot for dinner as a local if we had that choice for our child all the time as she smashed it, even the meat which she normally hates!

Positive experience: Club sapphire is the perfect place to come for lunch in Merimbula as it beats just about any other restaurant in town that is open for lunch. The food is nice albeit not amazing, the regular menu is fairly limited but to compensate they have a good specials menu that changes regularly. The main part being it's great for the price if you're a member which is only $20 a year or so (excluding if you want to play bowls). The service is good and the whole place is clean with that classic RSL/club vibe.

Fantastic experience: Overall one of the best dining experiences we have had, service was super friendly, food was great and came out in a timely manner. Best of all every single one of the staff interacted with our toddler. Next time we are in Merimbula, we will be coming back!

Positive experience: Coming from the back car park is a bit confusing to find entrance into the cub. Apart from that, it's the best place for evening chillout, food, and drink. (There's not much to do in the Merimbula in the evening during the week. )

Fantastic experience: A wonderful large facility to enjoy private or group catch up meals and beverages. A short walk from town however a courtesy bus is provided as well to ensure easy accessibility for all.

Fantastic experience: Stayed overnight in Merimbula, great town with a great vibe and great people. Had dinner at Club Sapphire, at first I thought I was a gym but once in the lobby I was greeted by friendly staff. Food was perfect, had the Ribs and wings, great serving size, great value and tasted amazing in every bite. Atmosphere in the dinning room and main bar was prefect, good mix of people and lively back ground music without being too loud. Would definitely visit again if in Merimbula.

Negative experience: Have been before a few times with fam and was quite nice. But recently past two times my visits have been appalling. The first, we went there for my young brothers birthday and invited some friends. We got in just fine but when our friends arrived they unknowingly accidentally came through the back entrance near the bar. When security saw them entering (friends are adult: over 30, and his friends son he was looking after, teen:16) he told them they weren’t aloud to come in through there, even after they said they were only looking for the restaurant, but staff guy wouldn’t let them in. So instead they came round to the front be entrance, the same guy refused to let them in anyway and we had to have dinner without the company of our friends, even when they didn’t do anything wrong. I absolutely can not get over how terrible our friends were treated. Then the second time was months later, yesterday. We were going for another of my brothers 21st thinking things might have changed. There was 10 of us all together, 5 under 18yo, and 5 over 18yo. As soon as we entered the club and went to the desk, it just so happened to be the same guy and he’d asked for who was in-charge so my brother (birthday boy) went up. When asked for his age he said “21” and the guy immediately shook his head and said no we weren’t aloud in because no one was over 25yo! The oldest in our group was 23yo. Even with 5 adults over 18yo, the guy (which I didn’t take note of his name sadly but all I remember of his appearance is he was bald maybe mid 40s?) he said it was a law that if no one was over 25yo they weren’t aloud in with minors. We, after we walked out disappointed and disgusted, looked it up and NO WHERE could we find this “law”! Our plans were ruined and we walk around town till we stumbled upon a lovely Chinese takeout place. Over all with this experience I believe the club has nice food and the staff that I’ve encountered and are aware of are fine but it was just this one guy that I believe shouldn’t be hired if he is turning away customers for no damn reason. I don’t plan on going back if that man is still there and neither may family or friends so you’ve lost a lot of potential customers. Fix the problem or atleast talk to this guy and teach him better!

Fantastic experience: Meals were great. Staff wonderful under trying circumstances as the power kept going down. Tested their patience but they were still lovely. They ended up having to close up for the night but we got to enjoy our meals. Piping hot and delish. Mine was so big I couldn't finish it all. Rissoles and vegies.

Fantastic experience: Popular club in a good location near the centre of town. Plenty of different activities such as live shows, members raffles, etc. Good sized bistro offering a good range of meals at reasonable prices. A reasonable sized gaming area. Friendly service.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place for a meal. We went bowling then to Kitty’s bar. Food was delicious Asian fusion catering to the Melbourne taste buds in our group. Our gathering of 14 had an outside table near the playground. Highly recommend and excellent service.

Positive experience: Had dinner at Club Sapphire with my family, two tables (19 of us)and everyone enjoyed their meals. Quality was great, quantity was plenty and service and hospitality was also great. I had the kingfish which was amazing. All in all it's a great place with great food.

Positive experience: The food we had was delicious, tasty and large servings especially the rissoles. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The atmosphere of the dining room was a tad bland and boring but overall we enjoyed Club Sapphire.

Positive experience: We had two night for dinner on are holiday here. It was 5 minutes drive from motel. Food was fantastic mum had roast pork and roast lamb. I had duck thai salad & it was amazing and lamb dish. Stuff was great & friendly. Barman’s where happy to make my cocktails. I should have got your drivers service

Fantastic experience: My parma with chips and salad was delicious as was my partner’s salmon. We booked the courtesy bus the day before for a 6:15pm pick up , then decided to cancel it and walk over to the club at about 5pm on the day. When I rang to cancel the bus, I discovered that my trip hadn’t been scheduled on the running sheet anyway. It was a good thing I called when I did. That was the only negative experience we had with the club, but warrants the loss of a star. The tables outside the club near the bowling greens are a great spot to sit for a pre/post dinner drink.

Positive experience: Reception at bistro seemed more interested in other customers, wait staff not all that interested in being there and Food very average. Reasonable prices though.

Fantastic experience: It's one of the absolute BEST places to go as a family! ❤️ We ordered dinner to take away & we let the kids go crazy on the playground while we waited for our food. Even our 10 month old enjoyed crawling through the tunnels! We got a couple of the Sapphire fillets (300g steak with bacon, prawns & hollandaise sauce on top of some DELICIOUS creamy mash potato & spinach leaves), along with some oysters & a chixken snitty our toddler Thank you for the MOST delicious dishes! We really appreciate the friendly & patient staff who directed us & served us. We'll definitely be back ASAP!

Positive experience: it was our anniversary and we took the family to the club to enjoy a great time out. From the moment we stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere set the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The club's cozy ambiance and live music added a lively touch to the celebration. There was a wide selection of food for everyone's taste buds. Best part was that it was good value. We did make booking as it was recommended, but the place was very spacious and we could easily find a table. We will return again when we visit.

Fantastic experience: From the minute we arrived we were most impressed with the welcoming staff. They were very busy but we were served in a timely manner. All meals arrived promptly and were all delicious especially the succulent duck with mashed Sweet potato and brocolli. I would very highly recommend this venue because of it's great staff and amazing food.

Positive experience: I had the roast pork special Generous amount of crackling. Meal was cooked very nicely. Service was friendly, efficient and staff were helpful. Easy to find a parking spot. Prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. Compared to other club dining experiences, this is one of the better ones I've been to.

Negative experience: The worst lamb cutlets I’ve ever had and lamb cutlets are pretty difficult to get wrong. Very disappointing considering when we visit Merimbula this used to be our go to for dinner. Great staff and great atmosphere but terrible food

Fantastic experience: Food was absolutely amazing. The flavours in the curry of the day were just beautiful and my husbands Blue Gran was cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly and the place had a really nice feel. We will definitely go back again before we head home to Victoria
