Fantastic experience: I have found this to be an amazing place for recreation and time with my young sons and inspiring fitness as fun. It has great facilities and swimming programs and the group fitness sessions are really fun and inclusive.

Positive experience: Food area tables all dirty and left over food remaining on tables for lengthy time. Whole are looked very untidy.

Fantastic experience: Well maintained aquatic centre with friendly staff. I love the way that the indoor area is open to the outdoors on one side, to allow fresh air to circulate. 50m pool was blissfully empty when we visited. Cafe looked nice; will sample next time. The only thing I could have done without was the music playing through the speakers outside. Really not something I need, or even want when I am doing laps. Sometimes it's just nice to enjoy a bit of peace.

Negative experience: My partner was treated very rudely by the receptionist. She had forgotten her towel and was made to feel like a child being scolded by a parent. This after she had to muster up all her strength and force herself to go to the gym in the first place, as she has rheumatoid arthritis. When her physiologist arrived the receptionist turned to him and once again said "make sure she brings her towel"...treating her like a child. When she got into the gym she burst into tears over her poor treatment. Terrible service!

Positive experience: Love this Rec Centre and it's pool. Good temp in pool and enjoyed playing with our grandson. Showers were hot.

Positive experience: *Edit* To their credit, multiple lifeguards have since checked in with us, offered their apologies and asked if we are ok and seem sincere when they say they are trying to address the problem. Hopefully they can block the problematic group for everyone's benefit. Hopefully we can visit again one day and delete this review for a better one Would be a great facility if it was safe for kids to be here. Our first visit was distressing. Unfortunately there are a group of teens that terrorize the place and put all the young kids in danger. They then verbally abuse the adults and staff did nothing of use.

Negative experience: Fairly well maintained facilities and a decent amount of things to do. Made an appointment for a fitness appraisal at 5.45pm. Got there and was told to wait by the counter at the gym. 15 minutes go by and no one's the wiser. Went back to the counter and one of the staff went around looking for the vanished gym instructor. Found out that he was sick on the day and that he "tried his best" to contact me. He left me an email and apparently a missed call. Common sense would lead you to believe that either a text or voicemail would follow. Surprising also that none of the staff were aware he was sick. Wasted an hour for the whole ordeal. Happens but hey. Bad service is bad service. Gotta tell it like it is I guess. Edit : Rescheduled for another one to be done just so I can set up the app to record some stats on the machines. Guess what? The lady that helped me do the rescheduling booked me in for 6.30am instead of 6.30pm which I verbally confirmed when the appointment was made. I could have made my family dinner with this time. I could have brought my wife to the doctors. But no, I came to the gym to have my time wasted again.

Fantastic experience: Excellent swim instructors. We have so far done the bubs and toddler programs and our expectations have far been exceeded. Staff are always happy to help. Facilities are very clean and well maintained.

Fantastic experience: After trying to find motivation to get back into fitness, I decided to check out the centre. On first impressions I noticed how clean and well maintained everything was, the staff are all so friendly and even the community that attends the facility are so friendly. I’m week 2 in and can say I have never been this motivated to hit a gym or classes and hands down I am not a swimmer, however, on the all access membership I have been using every opportunity to hit the centre and just move! I have nearly attended every type of option they offer, gym, group fitness, wellness and swim plus the gym appraisal/ program/ body scan! Just wow!! Armadale really did good with this one!

Positive experience: Really nice centre! We went on a warm day, lots of people therefore the water was really warm outside. Strong smell of chlorine as is normal in pools but we took some friends and it was abit too strong for the little kids

Negative experience: Take my 11yo swimming lessons and has been on same level for 3 months with no improvement. Instructor is useless and cannot answer simple questions about her progress and informed me to ask supervisor. She also could not answer questions about her progress and what she needs to work on. Strange thing is my daughter going for stage 7 in vacswim and can swim in a 3mtr pool and can do 100mtr in all swimming styles but they deemed she is not capable and has her doing her lessons in the shallow end of pool and have reduced her stage to 5 . It's a rort to keep you forking out money. Swimming staff are useless and so is the supervisor. I'm cancelled my membership.

Negative experience: Have been a member since AFAC opened. For the most part I've enjoyed my membership. As of late, however, we have had difficulty accessing some early morning classes that continue to reach capacity. Bookings only open 3 hrs prior to a class starting, causing many of us to wake at 3am to secure a place in the class. This has been occurring for over a month, with no visible action being taken despite many of us complaining. Keep this in mind if you plan to take up a membership - you may not be able to access the group fitness classes that you desire, or it will cost you your sleep.

Negative experience: Staff at front counter are always nice, Gym is great and well organised and they are always willing to help if needed. BUT the over booking of swimming lessons leaving all members/swimmers to use 1 lane to swim in is a joke. 6 swimmers in one lane. People are getting told to move lanes, when there is still 10 mins till lessons even start. Last time I complained they said they pay for the bookings and if I want a lane I need to book one, but do they realise that we pay too. It looks like the office staff are worried about money with the bookings and getting awards, then worry about Safety in the pools. This is happening all year round.

Positive experience: Lovely facilities. Well kept and clean. Indoor and outdoor pools. Large pool is deep and in the sun nice on a hot day. Indoor there is a walk lane pool more suitable for adults and only about 1 metre deep usually for laps. Its heated but a nice temp. Middle undercover pool is more kid friendly. Is parcially indoor so in cooler weather the water is very welcoming but would be better if able to inclose fully over cooler seasons. 90cm deep has a whirl pool, shower sprinkler. Very heated think a warm bath not the best in summer in my opinion. Outside there is a splash pad area with some shade sails suitable for toddlers and is much colder (not heated) BBQs with seating and nice well kept grass. Showers, multiple toilets and lots of life guards on duty. My issue is when swimming lessons are on in the mornings and afternoons can take a majority of the pools up undercover leaving limited space. Cafe is nice but a bit pricey. You can take outside food and drink.

Negative experience: Zero star. Very poor front office staff who does not know any rules about the swim school. Just looted money from my account due to miscommunication from the staff regards December suspension period. Sent a long email to them and waiting to see if I get a resolution

Negative experience: This is the worst pools I’ve been to. The service isn’t nice and there is this one lifeguard that keeps asking personal questions such as “how old are you” “ what school do you go to”. I was sitting down on the chairs and he asked me “why are you not swimming are you scared of the water can u not swim” it was really rude and he kept looking at me every 10 seconds. He could not mind his own business and when I was talking to someone he listened to our conversation and said why are you laughing ? He needs medical help immediately and I don’t know how he got hired. He has some problems because he doesn’t look normal. Me and some other people are really terrified of him. He keeps looking at little girls. He shouldn’t be working there he is so ugly as well

Negative experience: Service was shocking. Waited approximately 25 mins for order. 5 workers stood talking to a lady at end of counter ignoring waiting customers. One customer had to call out and ask for service.

Negative experience: True that Armadale Fitness has a rule that you can't join a group fitness class when late. But because I have been in their classes where some fitness instructors start their fitness 5 minutes later to give bit of allowance for participants to arrive and I recall one instance when the tag machine was already closed and a participant was allowed in, and even one intstance when an instructor herself was 15mins late(of course someone covered up for her to stat off), one would think they give more understanding when I myself was late for only 3 minutes because of their full car park on a day when we had the heat wave 25/11(when everyone just want to go use the pool). Because of the above instances, I was thinking it's "okay" to still enter the class when the tag machine was already covered as I was only 3 minutes late. I proceeded to the back and I started to join the dancing(it was a Zumba class). Instructor came to me and told me I can't join the class as I was late. I said sorry and explained my situation, but she flatly said I can't join. So I went out. It hit me that was too strict and harsh. I was upset of the whole treatment. I raised this with AFAC management team but they just justified their written rules. I thought that's really double standards. I confirmed to end membership on 28/11 as it was not a positive experience for me and no longer have the intention of using their services from then. I asked them to refund the direct debit they made from my account on 28/11 which is for another fortnight 8/12 but they refused as I needed to meet their notice period as per agreement. So yeah they refused to refund me something they know I didn't use anymore. For a club who tries to promote positivity and fun for all their members- how the Zumba instructor treated is just contradictory to that mission. 3 minutes lateness won't cause injury due to no warm ups and I do not think it distracting to members as I have enough sense not to join when I know I'm 5 minutes later or so. Maybe fix the parking situation first before you implement this kind of strictness.

Positive experience: It’s nice but always so hot there. The chlorine content isn’t much which is a joy to all eyes. Food is ok.

Fantastic experience: I met Matthew at the counter, he was so informative and I felt so welcomed, I wanted to sign up straight away. He gave me the forms to fill in and then it was Kylee’s turn, she was professional and helpful, gave me a tour and left no stone unturned. This is the best customer service I have received in a very long time, the facility looks great too.

Fantastic experience: I love going here. There are many different pools for all ages. Spa, and Steam room. The inside pool is warm and the big outside pool is lovely and cold. This is a great place to go to for a family day out.

Fantastic experience: I have been to other pools in Perth and have found that this one is the best. The staff are very friendly and the food in the Cafe tastes good and I really liked the coffee.

Negative experience: The girls working in the cafe were so rude, not to mention I ordered 2 icecream cones and it took a good 10 minutes because she was standing by the icecream bar chatting away to her friend who was finishing her shift. Really annoying.

Positive experience: Nice & new for young kids, thermally heated, good outdoor space, good heated pool/spa, good gym, excellent creche, good shower facilities, lots of trees for shade in carpark. Creche is limited up to 12pm only. For the casual attendee and someone who does not visit at peak usage hours, this place is tops. The only time I don't love this place is when it is So popular on hot school holidays that I can't even get a parking spot for my toddler(s) to attend his $16.50 30min swim lesson on time + casual visitors choke up the entrance gantry (only one line, no staff tells you how to scan your ticket for the first time - and if you offer to help a stranger, they might bark back at you because that is the mentality of the local clientele). Oh, and also when you subscribe to an aquatic membership and they close all the lanes you could use indoors leaving 2-4 patrons to share ONE fast lane and 4-6 patrons ONE slow lane because of Swim School and Swim Club hogging the lanes between 3-5pm (and those closed lanes are often left completely empty for 15 mins either end while they prep). I wasted my membership for a couple of months when this pattern didn't change, and now rely on casual attendance instead. Be aware sometimes the front desk staff can overcharge you for entry. Know your prices for the age group. They are however, patient and friendly. And sell any swim gear you might need for lessons. All the info and forms you need can be found on their website.

Negative experience: Good Service, Happy Atmosphere, but Disappointing Food and Safety Concerns of the café. This café offers friendly service and a cheerful ambiance, making for a pleasant experience. However, the food was a letdown, with chips tasting reheated and excessively salty. I also experienced discomfort afterward, raising worries about food safety. The coffee and milkshake weren't satisfying either. Until they address these issues, don't try their food.

Fantastic experience: The pools are heated and not too crowded. Good size spa and sauna. Showers are hot and have taps Not buttons. Nice coffee shop with lots of meal options. Even a great work desk. I has a big gym but I have not used it yet.

Positive experience: Poor communication in regards to memberships I was advised of there 39 dollar weekly pricing over the phone only to be told when I got there that there is a 50 dollar sign up fee and a minimum 2 week membership and it can only be direct debited from my account Im only capable of attending one week every 3 so 130 for my initial week isn't viable at all then I was told that I have to sign up to use there full facility anyway so to say I'm disappointed is a bit of an understatement

Negative experience: Price is not bad per fortnight. They change the timetable then you show up for a class for 9.20, you are late by 5 mins and they won't let you in. Knowing full well you didn't know the new timetable. I drove in school traffic and pouring rain and wasted fuel to get there 5 mins early for my class to be pushed away. What the hell am I paying for!

Negative experience: The pools aren't too bad but the bathrooms / change rooms aren't very clean people get naked to get changed when there are stalls for a reason it's disgusting the food used to be great but since being back today me and my friends will never be buying food again I could've had a 5 year make me better food and it's over priced.

Fantastic experience: Since upgrading the centre, the Armadale Pools have become a thing of beauty. Clean and bright inside, a splash pad, playground and bbq's outside, this is a really nice space to come spend a few hours on a hot summers day. There's plenty of parking but even then some days it can be hard to find a spot. The gym and swimming lessons available are also a high quality service, and the staff and life guards are pleasant to be around.

Negative experience: To suspend my son's swimming classes, I was told to come to the centre to make the request and pay the fee for suspension. The process is totally inconvenient. And they still charge you $5 each week for suspending the class.

Positive experience: I hadn't been here for over 20 years or more. I knew that it had an upgrade a few years ago. I was amazed at how great this facility is. All kinds of pools, gyms and other facilities. Lots and lots of people and the staff we dealt with were professional and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: This is our favourite swimming place. It has cool features like bubbly, warm seating spots in the middle pool, and a high water sprinkler feature, too. It has an outdoor general swim area with a low and deep end and an indoor lane 25m lap pool with walking lanes and slow swimming and fast swimming lanes. There is plenty of shade, seating, beautiful trees around, and it also has a playground and grassed area. There is a small baby paddle pool and free lockers available that you can put a lock pin on, and many helpful lifeguards available. It also has a good indoor cafe. We've always enjoyed our time there.

Negative experience: Have been attending Armadale pools with my son for the last six months. I noticed that the grime around the warm lap pool has never been cleaned in that time. We did an experiment and scrape off some of the grime and every time we come back the marks we made/cleaned remains and new grime is starting to form. This is proof that no-one is cleaning the ring around the pool and honestly it's revolving. ***Edit*** Please do ask me to contact you further. You have been informed about the problem. I shouldn't need to take it further for you to do something about it.

Positive experience: Everyone is so nice and helpful except for Vivian at the cafe. She seems like she has an attitude problem, didn’t treat me well, was rude and inconsiderate. I have autism, Tourette’s and very high anxiety I did not ask to be mistreated, after my experience with her I was shaken with anger. Also she found it funny that I had Tourette’s. If she doesn’t change her act and still mistreats me I will bring my own food. I honestly don’t have time or energy to deal with people who clearly think they’re better than anyone else and deserve to mistreat a customer for speaking up about a wrong order.

Positive experience: Clean and quality gym with top grade equipment, but you will often be waiting for others to finish if you go during peak times as the gym doesn't have enough equipment to support how busy the gym can get and is a relatively small gym compared to others which is a major drawback for me personally. I just wish it was bigger as I only get the chance to exercise during peak times.

I do wish the creche use was included in the gym membership but it's not too expensive if you don't need to use it often! My daughter has swimming lessons here too, she's 14 months old and we started at 6 months, it's been great and she's doing wonderfully even though we've missed a lot of lessons

Positive experience: I have signed my babybup for swim lessons. It is very inconvenient that there is no change room with a change table to allow parent and baby to change. I do not like using the disabled amenities as I feel as if I am taking from them. Also, after swimming having to go into a cold environment to change baby is not ideal. The swim lesson for baby is advertised as a warm environment which is not 100% accurate. Only been to 1 Leeson and the teacher was not I'm so will not comment on the actual lesson.

Positive experience: Close at 9 pm .. if you want to swim, sauna and steam or even fitness .. here is the place, mate .. it's governed by Aussie's government .. very complete

Fantastic experience: My kid does swimming lessons here. The school swim team is very professional. The centre is very new and modern with a huge gym, gym classes, crèche, outdoor thermal heated 50 meter pool, indoor junior pool area with whirl pool, spa jets, fun showers, an indoor 25 meter pool, a smaller warm and cozy hydrotherapy pool for bubs and mums classes as well as therapy for physio, spa and sauna. Change rooms have plenty of toilets and showers. My only gripe is there should have been more family change room facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are decent too.
