Strength Republic

Fantastic experience: Been a member for over a year now and have nothing but positive experiences at Strength Republic. Mostly free weight machines with plenty of options. Very catering to members of all fitness levels with a couple classes throughout the week. Parking can be tough at peak hours or early morning when competing with the CrossFit gyms near by, but usually manage.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Strength Republic. I came from another gym in town that just wasn't suited to my needs, but I'm really glad I found Strength. Beautiful range of Hammer Strength equipment that is top quality and in great condition. Such a large selection of equipment too, including powerlifting, cardio, and even strongman equipment, as well as both machine, cable, and plate-loaded machines. But as a bodybuilder, this place is perfect. Staff are friendly and helpful also. Important to note if you're considering switching gyms - staff hours are limited, so make sure you come sign up when they are staffed. Also no aircon, but now I'm addicted to the heat and sweat during a workout! Makes it that much harder.

Fantastic experience: Truely the best gym in Newcastle!! Everyone from pro bodybuilders & fitness freaks to mums & bubs come to this gym. Very community and family focused! A no judgement gym where everyone is nice and supports everyone’s goals - no matter how big or small. It’s the only bodybuilding gym in Newcastle with a wide range of equipment. It’s never overly busy and you can always find what you need. AM & PM group classes are run with all fitness levels attending.

Fantastic experience: New member, so still acquainting myself with gym layout. Equipment is robust with a great selection of free weights. Would cater for multiple sports & their levels. A raw airy feel about this gym. A secure no nonsense establishment of which I would recommend for all sports enthusiasts. I use 2 gyms for 5 days a week training with weights. Strength will become my go to.

Fantastic experience: Strength Republic has been a wonderful experience for me, I'm am in my mid 60s, the owners are lovely family people, also to mention over the Years they have been very helpful to alot of young athletes.

Fantastic experience: Strength Republic is my go-to gym. Great quality and variety of equipment and machines, with enough room to do everything I want. The staff are kind and helpful, and the owners are friendly and respectful. I don’t have a bad word to say about Strength Republic.

Fantastic experience: Very nice facility that gets everything you need to achieve your goal! No matter you drive or take public transport, it’s super convenient to get there. Marco is very helpful to set me up with the access to the gym, and showed me around with helpful tips. I did both self-led training and group class (designed and ran by legendary Sam) and had great experience from them. Feel very accomplished every time I complete my training and step out of the door ☺️. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: A gym that is actually a gym. Just signed up today - the team there are really great and super friendly + understanding. The gym is in a large warehouse setting with a HUGE amount of HammerStrength machines. One of the best stocked commercial gyms I have ever seen. There is no aircon so it could be on the hotter side for some people, but personally I love it & I was able to complete a workout at midday with nil issues. Couldn't recommend it more.

Negative experience: My 13 year old son wanted to have boxing lessons. The two rude guys at the front desk told md they arent a child minding facility. In one lesson they forgot he was there and they left him skipping rope for nearly an hour. We didnt go back.

Fantastic experience: Most Gyms are Hell-scapes of surgical grade fluorescent lighting and shiny equipment crammed in straight lines. Strength Republic is not this. It feels Authentic, and it's mad. I give it 10 hammer strength machines out of ten.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic family owned business opened 24/7. Im really happy with the equipment and cleanliness of the Strenght Republic.They have a mix of fantastic equipment,great staff and good facilities. Shaun and Yvette are so passionate about what they do that you can't help but be inspired and motivated to push yourself harder. They are always around if you need some help or advice which they are always willing to do. Both Shaun and Yvette have a great knowlegde in comp prep and this has been shown with great results from their athletes. As a competitor this year im am very happy with how my body is responding,changing and im loving the extra push i get from both shaun, yvette and fellow members.

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for the perfect gym then you will find it all at Strength Republic! Whether your into MMA, CrossFit, BodyBuilding, Weightloss or general Fitness you can find it all under one roof at Newcastle's BEST equipped gym! Ive been in the fitness industry for more than 7 years and Strength republic is my favourite gym anywhere from the layout to equipment to the people that make up the gym, why train anywhere else?

Fantastic experience: I have never been a gym kinda girl but I got the courage up to start excercising and Strength Republic has made it so easy. With great people, great classes and great equipment they have helped and supported me to achieve my weightloss goals. Its really alot of fun.

Fantastic experience: AKA my second home! Awesome gym, lovely owners. The weights and cardio equipment is all relatively new and well maintained. The MMA area is also great! There's no other gym I've been to that is 24 hours and offers great classes and such awesome facilities :)

Fantastic experience: Strength Republic is a fantastic gym for all levels of fitness. The friendly staff and fellow lifters make this an easy gym to come to. The space means you are able to work out in a safe and comfortable space. Loads of equipment for all different types of workout. The boxing gym (Steel City Boxing) adds a great feel to this gym. Fully recommend any one thinking of coming along to seriously do it.

Positive experience: Bit hot, especially since there is no ventilation when unstaffed on weekends.

Negative experience: Why put contact details on your website and never actually answer the phone. I'll look elsewhere.

Negative experience: Sad to say that this place is tired and run down, barely any of the cardio machines work weights are "ok" if their not over run by dudes They say family owned and operated but go through staff like no tomorrow, are they "operating" it themselves?

Fantastic experience: Great place to train - if you train in the morning, you pretty much have the whole facility to yourself. Great equipment - majority plate loaded Hammer Strength. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have attempted to join gyms multiple times in my life and I never really felt like I could workout in an empowering and comfortable space... Until I walked into Strength Republic!!! Yvette and Shaun are super supportive and believe in the mental and physical fitness of thier members, the training sessions are amazing at pushing you into spaces of growth with a feeling of accomplishment knowing you have been safe in your form. The vibe of the space is super modern and upbeat! I highly recommended for people who are trying the 'gym thing' you will be converted into a person who feels happier and more in love with life

Fantastic experience: Where do I start? The layout of the Gym is the best I have ever seen! Plenty of space around machines & Free weight areas. You are never standing around waiting for equipment. The range of equipment is amazing, from Cardio to Bodybuilding & even Strong Man equipment, I have never been to a Gym with so much variety. The Trainers at Strength Republic are among some of the nicest people on the planet! They are very professional and enthusiastic about helping you reach your goals! The Owners Shaun & Yvette are two of the most pleasant & Knowledgeable people I have ever met, I have trained at many gyms over the last 8 years and I have never felt more welcomed by these guys. They always greet you with a smile, they are always encouraging and will always help you out with some great tips & tricks to meet you full training potential. The members are also some of the nicest & most respectable people around! Every day I walk in I am greeted with a Smile, a wave or even a simple nod from everyone in there. All members are always willing to help by giving you a spot on your bench or videoing your intense sets for your Instagram stories. If you are after an amazing gym & an even more amazing gym family, Strength Republic is the gym for you! A massive thank you to Shaun & Yvette for being so welcoming & for creating a gym that feels like home! I look forward to spending the rest of my training life in your gym.

Fantastic experience: The most amazing, friendly, welcoming gym in Newcastle!!!! Wouldn't go anywhere else! The owners & trainers are so knowledgeable and are always willing to help and support you with your goals! The classes that are run throughout the week is another way to increase your fitness, build muscle. I have met some amazing people at Strength and look forward to getting my arse their each day!

Fantastic experience: Being a fitness passport member, I have the luxury of going to almost any gym I wanted too. But after finding Strength Republic, I didn't want to go to any other gym. Strength Republic is definitely Newcastle's best gym. It's huge, has so much equipment, so you're never standing around waiting for your turn and most of all, Shaun, Yvette and their staff are amazing. They make you feel welcome and the way the gym is run really puts it above every other gym. The staff does more than just sign new clients. They make the gym feel like a second home and ensure everyone is showing respect for each other and the gym. Can't recommend Strength Republic enough. Newcastle's best muppet free gym

Fantastic experience: An incredible facility, Nothing like a commercial gym. The staff made it feel like family and the equipment and layout is so functional and practical. I'd recommend this gym to anyone serious about their training.

Negative experience: Gym owner has anger issues. Yelled at me at the top of his lungs to get out for (wrongfully) believing I didn't have clips on the bar I was using. They have an underqualified and inexperienced personal trainer teaching Olympic weightlifting poorly - risking injury of gym members (Mark I believe was his name). If you intend on training without being harassed every other day then I would not recommend this gym.

Negative experience: I like how you try to dismiss what I've written just by saying that it's not true. 1. Both facts are true. 2. Be careful of falsely accusing someone of assault. I'm sure you have cameras in your gym which you can check yourself. The gym trainer forcefully took my bag and phone (theft btw) and I grabbed it back off him. No pushing involved, although I did swear at him as he's been harassing me since I joined this gym for no apparent reason. 3. The people you talk about applauding my cancellation are likely the personal trainers who quarter squat weights far beyond their strength level - and teach their clients to do the same. I don't believe you can talk about my training methods when 1. I only follow programming from coaches with experience and qualifications to provide a sound program (more than can be said about the trainers at this gym) 2. None of the trainers at your gym can clean what I can snatch - which is worrying because I'm by no means an athlete at a high level. That is all, goodbye.

I was super unfit and knew no-one at my very first class and I was made to feel totally welcome and capable of achieving anything. Best gym!

Negative experience: Absolutely disgraceful, DO NOT RECOMMEND! I had notified the gym 2 years ago of needing to cancel my membership as i was moving away. No response was received. I had to take initiative to stop all bank transactions so no money continues to be taken from my Account. I am still receiving promotional text messages when i have requested them to be stopped multiple times. Spoken to Sean who is suppose to be one of the gym owners but was unable to help me and stated it was out of his hands. 2 years on they are still trying to charge me for the gym membership and i have tried contacting them and have received no reply. I will be taking further actions to stop these fraudulent people. If you are thinking of joining a gym, you'd save yourself the headache and time if you do not chose this place.

Fantastic experience: As a powerlifter (with a bit of bodybuilder) this is one of the best gyms I have ever been to! Has really awesome equipment (really good bars and Ivanko plates) they also seem very new / well maintained but at the same time also gives off an old school vibe. It also has one of the best environments (literally has a corner for any forms of fitness (cardio, weightlifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding, cross fit...). I definitely would recommend this gym to everyone!

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything. With the soon to be addition of the S2 Performance Powerlifting club and its new Powerlifting equipment it will definitely be able to claim its status as Newcastle's strongest gym. Best gym in town by a mile!!!
