Negative experience: The booking system for the classes is really bad . Can't get on reserve list after limit of 6 reached. Why Then the classes aren't full. You ask at desk to get put on. One minute they can. One minute they can't. Still lovely staff. 5 stars for Raven. Management Fix the booking system..

Fantastic experience: Balance Mayfield is an interesting excellent gym, catering for men and women of all ages and abilities. Friendly staff, clean, well-fitted out, a great place to keep fit!

Positive experience: Free with Gateway Inn hotel stay. Need to swim with a swimming cap, you can borrow theirs. Unisex shower: the shower pressure is not as strong as the hotel. The door can be clunky to unlock. No leisure swimming; swim on each lane. People in the gym can see through the glass to the pool. Powerful chlorine smell. Most people just put their belongings on the bench.

Negative experience: Retracting my review staff at the swimming section at times don't appear to know what they are doing and let pple block the entrance no consideration that parents are running late,how about serving pple without blocking the entrance.Respect and acknowledging those waiting to go through just helps please.Would also appreciate if swimming instructors would not engage in long chats with parents of kids finishing lessons as this takes paid time for kids in the lesson.We are paying for the swimming lesson not for free so every minute is paid for and valuable.Management please monitor this,am actually considering pulling my kid out of balance ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: Excellent facitilities and all instructors are so inspirational and all exercises are varied, never repetitious - always feel great and invigorated after classes, even though a little exhausted!!

Negative experience: Half of their gym equipment has 'out of order' signs on them, found myself waiting a number of times for the bikes.. and its been like that for some time unfortunately... considering they've charging more now for their subscriptions its a bit annoying!

Positive experience: My 6 month old and I went today for the first time. Overall okay experience, upon arrival I didn’t feel that welcomed, they didn’t show me around, luckily I know how to use most of the machines otherwise I would have looked like a lost puppy. The staff memeber in the crèche was lovely. Will continue to go here.

Positive experience: The times I’ve been it’s been relatively quiet. It’s expensive. I didn’t like being thrown into the deep end when I signed up for the 7 day trial. Not one person showed me around and showed me how to use the equipment. Lucky for me I have some idea of how the equipment should be operated but for someone who has never been to a gym before this could be one big OHS problem. No wonder so many people join Planet Fitness. Now Eurth.

Fantastic experience: We have started swimming lessons at Balance recently and we are really happy with our experience. We have been dealing with Mikala at reception - so friendly and nothing is a problem. The group classes are reasonably priced and they offer privates as well. Saxon is our swim instructor and he excellent. He is engaging and it appears as though he genuinely enjoys teaching children!

Fantastic experience: Nephew goes to swimming lessons here and we came to watch. The instructor was great and engaging with the kids (around 2-3 years old), beautiful looking space and nice amenities.

Fantastic experience: Nice modern gym with heaps of room, plenty of machines to use, and big indoor heated pools (the largest one can still be quite cold though, FYI). Staff are always friendly and helpful, and swim teachers are both knowledgeable and great with kids. Well priced classes. Overall it's a great experience, no complaints at all.

Positive experience: Again it's part of that greedy group of West, they charge you for recovery section of the club, knowingly that it's out of order for months, and won't be ready before another couple of months, why because they are taking us for Granted and using us as milking cows, that's @mayfield- balance collective

Positive experience: The facilities are great. Clean and well maintained with lots of convenient, free underground parking but the pools are unsupervised and the floors are very slippery in some places. I didn't visit the gym but the cafe is good and they serve great coffee with a friendly approach. It was the lack of lifeguards which really let's this place down.

Positive experience: Good size gym with easy parking and friendly staff. The outdoor area is nice, and the cardio machines are modern and in good condition. The free weights and weight machines drag the gym down though, and if you're predominantly into resistance training there are better gyms around. The equipment is old junk, probably 20-30 years old and not in a good, retro sort of way. Some of the machines and benches are actually dangerous to use but their condition seems to be ignored by the gym.

Fantastic experience: Staff pleasant and helpful entire complex including the pool and showers looks and smells clean. Equipment well maintained. Perfect.
