Negative experience: Gym is simply too small to consistently enjoy, even when it's not busy it's cramped due to the placement of the machines. The closing hours could also be improved. While the location is convenient, membership is really only rworth it if you plan on using the facilities outside of the gym.

Negative experience: My daughter has been attending swimming lessons at this school for the past three years, including both group classes and private lessons. Most of the instructors are very professional, patient, and responsible. Because of this positive experience, we have continued to come back even after we moved to a different area. However, I would like to share a concern regarding my daughter’s private lesson instructor this term. The classes often ended 1–2 minutes early. On one occasion, the instructor arrived about 3 minutes late and still finished the lesson 2 minutes early. When I raised this issue with the gym manager, I was told that finishing a little early is normal in order to keep the schedule running smoothly. While I understand the need for smooth transitions, for private lessons, time is important and we expect the full duration that we have paid for. Overall, this is a swimming school is good with many dedicated teachers, but I hope management can be more attentive to time management in private lessons to maintain the high standard.

I would like to clarify that upon receiving your initial email yesterday over the weekend, I did respond offering to discuss the matter further and work collaboratively on how we could improve or address your concerns. As your contact was made after the completion of the semester, this limited our ability to review the situation in real time or speak directly with the instructor involved while the lessons were ongoing.
I also attempted to contact you via phone yesterday to discuss the matter and explore how we could address your concerns moving forward. However, rather than engaging in that discussion, the opportunity to resolve the matter directly was declined, and the decision was made to proceed solely with a review.
We encourage families to raise concerns during the term wherever possible, as this allows matters to be investigated and addressed in a timely manner.

Fantastic experience: People are friendly and the place is clean and all equipments are well maintained. I am really happy with the new management. We never had a regular Zumba class although it was very popular. Now we have two fixed sessions a week. Thanks to Heba who always be there and listen to what members have to say. She’s so caring and friendly.

Negative experience: A Pulse staff member tried to lock me in the pool because it started raining and I didn’t leave within 2 minutes. Even worse, their manager supported this behaviour and banned me for two months for complaining. In response to Pulse: As noted in my Fair Trading complaint, my response was a reaction to the staff member’s behaviour, not the cause of it. The staff member rudely told me to leave and I did not object. After only 2 minutes, when I asked for a little more time to pack my things, the staff member began locking the gate with me still inside. That behaviour, along with the two-month ban, is unreasonable and retaliatory.

Your comment contains several inaccuracies. Pulse staff would never lock any member or person inside a facility under any circumstance. During the incident, you were asked multiple times to leave the outdoor pool area due to nearby lightning strikes, in accordance with our mandatory safety procedures. Staff were simply instructing you to exit so the gates could be secured safely and to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff.
Your conduct during the interaction — including verbal abuse, threats, and intimidation toward a staff member and management — is behaviour that Pulse has zero tolerance for. This is consistent with NSW Government protections for customer-service workers under the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW), which makes it an offence to harass, intimidate, or verbally abuse staff performing their duties.
The two-month suspension was issued not for raising a complaint, but for your abusive and threatening behaviour toward staff and management during and after the incident.
Pulse is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all members and staff and will always uphold our legal and safety obligations, particularly during hazardous weather events involving lightning.

Heba, the new gym manager, was the coach for the Australian Olympic Women's European Handball team. The gym is noticeably cleaner, better organised, and better maintained. Negative experience: This gym is held back for a number of reasons: 1. How long does it take to fix a speaker system? Its been months that we have been listening to a little boom box and the music is often so slow that it can put my grandma to sleep. 2. Large sections of the wall where benches are do not have mirrors. This is actually dangerous as we cannot see our form when doing exercises. Come on guys it's not hard to affix mirrors onto those wooden slats. 3. Poor oversight. This gym is small so it's frustrating that no one is monitoring the use of machines or space. I see so many people creating circuits where they use more than one machine at a time. There's also people who think it's a good idea to set down a mat and do calasthetics or stretches in middle of where benches are - there is clearly a seperate room for that.

Positive experience: Average gym, difficult to complete a workout when place is busy (only one of each peice of equipment). Gym is clean and the staff are always friendly. I can't see why this gym can't be 24/7

Fantastic experience: I enjoy visiting Pulse Club at The Waterfront. The staff are helpful and friendly. I always find a parking spot at the times I go. The gym is clean, tidy with excellent equipment. I love the indoor heated pool, especially in Winter and of course the outdoor beach pool in Summer. Amazing facilities!

Negative experience: Was unhappy with the quality of the swimming lessons but agreed to continue and did see some improvement but not much. The next term the quality declined again and when there was a replacement teacher, it became clear that the regular lessons were not satisfactory. Requested a refund for the remainder of the term. Even after multiple emails, I have received no response. Terrible customer service.
Fantastic experience: professional trainers, friendly and chatty. The facilities are clean and well equipped, there's even a steam room available, PT sessions, classes, snacks and drinks, ice cream, great music, TV, news, etc. Pulse is a lifestyle, not just a gym!!!

Fantastic experience: A well-equipped clean gym with a friendly supportive team always on hand as needed. Plenty of EP personal trainers on hand for individualised program delivery and successful goal achievement irrespective of age, sex, and fitness level. The manager Diane is constantly developing new gym class programs to meet the large variety of member preferences at reasonable cost compared to the large corporate gyms. Diane and the leadership team are very responsive to member feedback and always updating the gym gear to the latest tech. Wi-Fi is very good now with instant connection when you walk in. I asked for a new pectoral/back machine last time and brand new very nice came within weeks along with the new lateral abduction leg machine. Pool always hot and has hardly been out of service this year compared to few years back. Gym is always clean and tidy

Fantastic experience: Been training here for almost 3 years and it is like my second home. The gym is always very clean, well maintained and has everything for all fitness levels. Negative experience: Been a member for while and recently have been disappointed with the lack of engagement from staff. In the early days staff would be on the floor chatting to members and you would get a friendly smile or greeting when you came in and out, now nothing just robots. Disappointing considering it’s a community gym. Also to try and book the Tennis court is a nightmare and the exact same people are on the court every single night, it’s ridiculous and nothing is being done to fix it.

Negative experience: wanted to join this gym because my work is local to it, but apparently you need to live in that certain area to join, not even near the shopping centre side, really stupid concept for a gym.
Hi MK, The gym is paid for by owners strata payments. therefore it's a residential gym. It's only for The Waterfront because we are non profit. It's like staying at a hotel and having access to their gym. You pay for the use through your total fee. We are not commercial and couldn't cater for anyone beyond our area. I get why you wanted to join, it is a brilliant facility. Sorry you think it's stupid.
Negative experience: Try to call to make bookings. Attempted calls from 7 to 11am, no staff picked phone calls. This is happening on 18th April Tuesday. So hard to get service appointments. Really poor customer service on the day. It might be particular instance as all the other days the other staffs are good.
Hi Jessica, I'm sorry no one got to your call quicker. I'm looking into the phone system since seeing your review as we are having a few issues. At times as we only have 1 staff member on shift it can be difficult to get to the phone as they are doing pool tests, have to go down stairs to turn the steam room on and get the gym ready for the day ahead. Fantastic experience: This is a great community gym. Friendly people and well equipped with everything you need for a proper workout. All the staff are friendly and attentive and Di in particular always goes out of her way to say hello and have a nice chat.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities both indoor and outdoor pools are easy accessible and very practical the tennis courts are a great place and easy bookable for those who wish to enjoy it. The gym is a fantastic space with well maintained equipment and full of good vibes I had my first class in the function room and it was amazing the instructor was buzzing and full of life all in all pulse is a wonderful organisation for the community of wentworth point the staff are amazingly helpful and so friendly I love being apart of it

Negative experience: The steam sauna has been out of order for more than one month. There has been no explanation on what happened and no notice on when it will be repaired. Only a piece of paper on the door saying it’s out of order. Why it took such long for repairing? Owners and users deserve some explanation.
Hi Xihua,I don't think giving us a 1 star review is very far. The steam room needs a complete change over. The building manager has his hands tied waiting for the installation date to be finalised as the unit is on order. Until the supplier gives us a date, we cannot tell you when. I am waiting for a time frame and then will email all members. I understand it is frustrating and time consuming, however it is disappointing when we are trying very hard. Please feel free to email me and with questions and I will happily answer you. I can tell you more about what is happening than a google review that I would have to say, don't agree is fair when it's out of our hands.
Negative experience: Disappointed in the new management as everytime I try to book the tennis courts it’s always booked out and when I try to contact the manager I get no return call back. I think it’s quite stupid to have to email you just to get the call back btw. Shouldn’t you be more hands on being the manager? You obviously not capable! Funny how I always see the same people on the tennis courts including yourself. It is utterly Hypocritical & selfish especially for the ones that pay strata!

Fantastic experience: An awesome community gym, super friendly staff and the most super manager ever (yes... you Di). Seriously though this is a great little gym with enough equipment and free weights to keep all but the most serious body builders happy. People are friendly, the place is clean and all equipment well maintained. Staff are always happy to have a chat or to offer advise. I have been a member of numerous gyms over the years but Pulse would have to be my favourite. A no fuss, no stress gym that makes you feel at home. Cheers to Di and her amazing team

Negative experience: Tennis Court bookings are impossible. It is an unfair system and favours a few only. Needs complete overhaul!
Positive experience: A bit of more hygiene in the pool, showers and steam room would be great, sometimes it smells funny.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic pool, tennis court and gym facilities with a generous membership that allows you to bring multiple guests for free (excluding the gym and gym classes).

Positive experience: Good
Positive experience: Provides a gym, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis court and a many activities set on a time table.
Negative experience: Staffs are arrogant and rude since they are the only chosie in wentworth point.
Positive experience: Everything is perfect at Pulse but i only wish it was bigger and had more machines like hip abductor, smith machine, step climber, etc.
Positive experience: mall but customer service was good, staffs are helpful and friendly.
Negative experience: Awful!!! As a teenager resident, it is impossible for you to go to the pool or tennis court by yourself not including the gym which the very rude reception almost threatens you if you wish to do so. This is clearly because the selfish owners of the club are refusing to pay higher insurance fees and since they are the only efficient choice in Wentworth Point, they unfortunately have the power to do whatever they want!!! Absolutely terrible and shameful
Fantastic experience: Really enjoy all the classes and the instructors are friendly and approachable. The outdoor is a blast for my kid

Fantastic experience: Great environment, friendly staff, good equipment, good range of classes, awesome pool, sauna and tennis court. The manager (Di) is amazing and always looks for ways to improve the gym and get involved with our small community. Last but not least - the price is the best and lowest I ever paid for a gym :)

Positive experience: Good tennis courts for use if a resident.
Negative experience: I phoned up to enquire and if I could join however the staff was not very helpful over the phone and was quite rude from the beginning. They only allow Wentworth Point residents however there is a certain cut off and it’s til Hill Rd which my street is along Hill Rd, apparently they don’t allow it that’s what the lady told me. It didn’t make sense to me and thought that was unfair, my partner and I just want to go to a gym that’s close to home and this would of been perfect for us.
