Northbridge Baths Aquatic Fitness Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Looked mint as
Positive experience: Beautiful location, all practical elements available. As a person with a disability (walking stick) the entrance/exit was a little precarious due to the steep incline, just had to take it very slowly, but it was worth the effort. Would like to see some non-slip measures implemented on the walk ways back to the carpark, but not a deal breaker - I'll definitely be back.
Fantastic experience: Great spot to spend the day.
Fantastic experience: Great place for kids
Fantastic experience: such a nice place for kids and family
Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic place for a swim and relaxing lay down on some shaded grass.
Fantastic experience: Nice
Positive experience: Great place for swim. Showers, swimming lanes and bbq area make it a perfect spot to take your family.
Fantastic experience: A great place to relax and free
Fantastic experience: Great spot to cool off, have a swim and bbq with friends and family
Fantastic experience: A hidden harbour gem. Don't tell people about it! Visit on high tide is best and park up at street level then walk down on a hot busy day...
Positive experience: We’d never visited Northbridge Baths before and wondered why when we got there. Wrapped around by beautiful bushland and very expensive houses, this attractive corner of Sydney Harbour is home to this excellent retro bathing enclosure first opened in 1924. It’s all free as a bird: free parking, free entry, free BBQs, no staff, no lifeguards, no opening hours - a little example anarchism in action that really works. The locals look after the place, energised by campaigning against the local council that was planning to shut it down. They seem to have convinced the council to continue to support it too, as everything feels well-maintained now and it’s a great place to bring a picnic and chill. There’s a full 8–lane section for the lappies and still plenty of space for the rest of us. It’ll be at its best around high tide but even towards low it’s still good. We will definitely have this on our “worth revisiting” list.
Positive experience: Nice place to swim. Has a convenient changing area and toilets. I was lucky to visit this place during warm weather and the water is reasonably clear. Reccomended for kid's parties and picnics.
Fantastic experience: Good place
Fantastic experience: Gorgeous spot surrounded by salmon gums and beautiful houses Parking is slim and road is winding
Positive experience: It's ok, there are better places to swim. Don't swim after rain
Fantastic experience: Love these local baths! Not usually crazy busy and usually only locals and families.
Positive experience: A nice spot but the water was very merky when we were there, was not appealing for swimming.
Fantastic experience: It's like swimming in a heavenly valley.. Olimpic natural sea pool surrounded by the nature Amenities including steaming hot showers (!)
Negative experience: Didn’t enjoy the shallow area. Bit grotty. Better off going to a real beach
Positive experience: Nice local baths for swimming when it hasn't been raining recently.
Fantastic experience: Children friendly.. Shallow clear water. Also great for swimming
Positive experience: Lovely quiet beach, steep and windy access by car with steep ramp or stepped access from the carpark. Calm water great for toddlers, marked lane area for swimming, pontoons for older kids and teens. We were there on a warm, still day and got lots of sealice bites, unfortunately.
Fantastic experience: I love to see all the fish, brim, I guess, when I swim here. The facilities are good especially the gushing hot showerz ♨️. I can't beleive this place is FREE. Thanks Willoughby Council❤.
Fantastic experience: Nice little gem of the lower north shore. Great swimming area that closed off - no sharks!! Lol Nice shaded grass area as well. Parking is limited during peak times but you can always park up the hill on the street. Recommended if you have younger kids.
Positive experience: Beautiful harbour pool, free of charge, with shop for refreshments at peak times, ramp into water for the handicapped, lap swimming, BBQ, lawn, parking.
Positive experience: Good change facilities and nice outlook.
Fantastic experience: Heart touch place for living
Fantastic experience: Good place to go for a swim in summer. Kids can jump off the pier.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place for a swim with hot showers powered by sustainable sun energy. Toilets + BBQ and net all around the swimming area.
Fantastic experience: Great tidal baths enclosed with a walk around jetty and shark netting. It has 8 swimming lanes for those wanting to cut a few laps and heaps of space for kids to jump in and splash around. limited parking though. I've never seen big crowds here so it's super chill and not very busy even when the sun comes out.
Fantastic experience: Great place for a morning swim, highly recommend it
Fantastic experience: Lovely secluded spot with hot showers and lanes for swimming. Busy on summer days so go early to get a spot!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic little swimming area with just enough facilities and grass areas. Perfect for families with young ones. Only drawback is the steep driveway and limited parking spaces, but that's why it is never too crowded.
Fantastic experience: Great little spot!
Fantastic experience: Love this place! Payed a visit with a close and very dear friend and we both were very impressed with the layout and the outdoor experience with Nature, highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean
Positive experience: Nice quiet place, shhh don't tell!
Positive experience: Brilliant spot for a swim or a dive in. Hot showers too. Open all year round and free entry. Only thing missing is a kiosk.
Negative experience: There are blue bottles which can cause cardiac arrest as well as many o war jellyfish which can induce neurotic asphyxiation. Jumbled is a species of seaweed that causes the skin to blister and cause vomiting, diahrea and head aches, Cameron lives here. Remember Ettalong, blueys.
Positive experience: Tucked away from the hussle and bussle of it all, there are bbq's, change rooms, swimming lanes and heaps of room to be able to find a small spot of your own. Didn't swim, read the notice board about the relocation of jellyfish, definitely worth a read.
Positive experience: A great spot for a swim in the harbour and a BBQ. The swimming section is netted off, with eight swim lanes and a long shallow section for those who would prefer to play. There is a good shower block alongside, with hot water in a couple of the stalls. There are a couple of BBQ hot plates and a reasonably sized grass area with some shade sails. Half way up the steep hill through which the Northbrodge Baths are accessed is a car park that offers 4 hours parking.
Fantastic experience: These Baths are the best in the area , and is set up with proper lanes for swimming. BBQ area is great but parking can be difficult if your not there early. 6am swimming session is perfect
Positive experience: Small but nice space. Area with shade, good for kids.
Fantastic experience: Great place to bring kids, can get too crowded and parking can be a problem. The swimming pool is good and is not usually very crowded. Good changing rooms and bathrooms
Fantastic experience: Been living around it for so long, can not believe we have never visited this place. Great place with kids too.
Fantastic experience: Rectangle water was amazing and the showers are warm which makes it even better, although the soap dispensers smell really weird. Good maintenance but the bricks pull up easily. Keep up the good work, although a shop with ice cream there would go down well.
Fantastic experience: I like it!
Fantastic experience: Free parking and free baths - in Sydney?! I didn't think anything was free in Sydney any more! Nice place too :)
Fantastic experience: Very accessible and great for weekend BBQs
Fantastic experience: Perfect and magical little spot for an easy swim, kids playing in sand, grass to relax on and BBQ facilities. Also it has crystal clear water great for family games and activities to relax.
Fantastic experience: My running destination.
Fantastic experience: A hidden gem in the winding streets of Northbridge. Picnic tables and BBQ area are wonderful. Toilets and showers available to use. Lovely grassed area. Lap lanes available. Great family day out. Small parking area so get there early on a hot day.
Fantastic experience: Great space for families
Fantastic experience: Nice view. But fishing is not allowed there.
Fantastic experience: My favourite place to reflesh mind!! Near Sydney City!! There are gorgeous view around this place!!! Even though that!! Few people know this place, I guess!!!
Fantastic experience: 4.8 - I was so wowed when I decided to visit for my first time! I wish I had brought my swimmers! There's parking but you have to get there early, and it's a short walk down, about 20/25 steps. There's also a sloped driveway that some brave people with prams use to get down to the Baths. Once there, so many platforms and ways of getting into the water. There's swim lanes as well as recreational swimming and beach areas.
Fantastic experience: Great swimming spot!
Positive experience: Great place for a swim and a bbq but parking is very limited and the walkway in is extremely steep.
Positive experience: It could be better. Nowhere to buy refreshments or even a simple popsicle for the kids. Is far from any shop so it would be nice to have some kind of coffee/ refreshments booth on the weekends and school holidays.
Positive experience: A lovely little beach with clear water with an almost safe and community vibe to the area, a nice little spot for a picnic on a day out for the kids and family alike.
Fantastic experience: Deadly
Fantastic experience: Calming atmosphere
Fantastic experience: Great place for a swim just get there early for a place to park
Fantastic experience: Great baths in the North Shore. Was very quite on a Sunday afternoon in Spring
Fantastic experience: Great place for kids
Fantastic experience: Really cool spot for swimming, if you want to do laps or just chill
Fantastic experience: Great facility, there is a carpark just above it and gas bbq facilities. No dogs.
Fantastic experience: Such a lovely little haven within the Sydney coastline! Plenty of space for families with grass and bbq areas and a fake beach in the shallow end! As well as a boardwalk to jump off and 25m swimming lanes in the deep end. Such a great natural netted off swimming area!
Negative experience: Very difficult to find parking
Positive experience: Great place to take the kids during summer. The inflatable water park is a great attention, lots of variety to keep the kids occupied.
Positive experience: My 12 and 9 year old really enjoy a dip at Northbridge baths. Parking can be a problem. Steep path down to and back from the baths.
Positive experience: Beautiful location and great place to swim with the fishes. It has a picnic bench, barbecue place, and changing rooms with showers. However, the showers only have cold water.
Positive experience: Wow, the kids participated in school holiday fun in the pool & it looked so much fun I wanted too join them! Wish they had blow up slides & slippery dips for the oldies. Parking is limited & quite tricky & don't go at low tide!
Positive experience: Great "ocean" baths, albeit on the harbour. Water is clean, facilities are well looked after, though there's no lifesaving presence. Caters to multiple activities - there are lanes roped off for lap swimming, a "beach" area with shallow water for little kids, and enough deeper water for bigger kids (and teenagers and adults) to enjoy just goofing around. Plenty of fish in the water for people who are so inclined to look at them - no fishing allowed, of course. It looks like there may be a canteen here, but I have never seen it open. Would be a 4-star rating if it had more shade. Shade has been added to the grassed area near the beach. Now four stars.
Positive experience: Great location. Plenty of parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful location below bushland park with gentle shelving beach into still clear saltwater. Perfect for families with small children with FREE parking, FREE entry, FREE hot showers and FREE electric BBQ. The jewel in Willoughby City's crown.
Fantastic experience: Sensational location and perfectly peaceful. Has a Bbq plate for family & friends get togethers.
Fantastic experience: pretty fun
Fantastic experience: Clean habour water great location for a swim
Positive experience: Got black marks on my feet from the rubber matting around the walkway
Positive experience: Great spot for a swim with young kuds
Positive experience: Beautiful in the summer. Always check for jelly fish though!
Positive experience: It is free admission but I think the showers are cold water only.
Positive experience: Great swimming with the kids. We love it. Only problem is there is limited parking and steep return to the cars. So if you are taking little people and older people they will have to walk.
Positive experience: Fantastic local tidal harbour baths. Plenty of grass and sand at low tide for the kids. Swimming lanes for the grown-ups. Caution there is a steep road to walk down to he foreshore. Parking can be difficult at peak times.
Positive experience: Beautiful place to swim, although being right next to a marina isn't ideal knowing what happens with boats & pollutants. The rubber matting around the wharf blackens your feet very badly & gets very hot. Fake turf might have been a better choice.
Positive experience: A peaceful spot. Nice views of boats moored in Sailors Bay. Swimming lanes available for those who want to swim laps. A small beach area and shallow water suitable for young children. Limited parking down a steep roadway.
Fantastic experience: A real oasis on a hot day. SurprisingIy big swimming areas, a reasonable sized parking area, with more parking in nearby streets.
Fantastic experience: This place is magical on a summer day if you are in the area great swimming in a massive caged area
Fantastic experience: Part of old Sydney. Charming area
Fantastic experience: Great place for the family. Shallow water and great sheltered location.
Fantastic experience: Great pools with lots of places to sit in the shade or sunbath. There’s ample space to swim with designated lanes for lap swims and a two large areas for casual swims. The pool has shark nets so it’s safe to swim.
Positive experience: Cool spot on a hot day
Positive experience: Good place for a dip
Positive experience: great place to swim.
Positive experience: Good family friendly swimming - bbqs available to cook for free as well
Positive experience: Good if you want to do laps in the sea but safe from sharks and waves. It's quite a small area though and doesn't have a beach, so it's a little limited.
Fantastic experience: Great family outdoor bathing pool
Fantastic experience: Magic. Best kept secret on lower north shore. Great for a splash, a proper swim session and enjoying the sun. Probably avoid for 1-2 days after significant rain as its a harbour pool
