- Variety of facilities: The centre includes both indoor and outdoor pools, a large children’s water park, and suitable areas for swimming laps.

- Facility closures: Users express frustration over the frequent closures of the indoor pool and spa facilities, often without prior notice.
- Food prices: Some visitors feel that the prices for food at the canteen are too high, suggesting that the council should consider better management.
- Overcrowding: During peak times, some areas become overcrowded, making it difficult for casual users to enjoy the facilities.
Overall, Ripples St Marys Leisure Centre stands out as a comprehensive leisure destination with a strong community focus. With a bit of improvement in customer service and facility management, it has the potential to provide an exceptional experience for all its visitors.

Ripples St Marys Leisure Centre: Opinions
Negative experience: Wife bought swim goggles and found they didn't fit. Staff members mocked her when she tried to return the goggles. Definitely not recommended. Will complain directly to council as well.
Negative experience: Went today and couldn't even walk on the grass because of all the bindys all over you would think the price of admission the council could keep up with some grounds keeping. And also the price of food is just ridiculous. Council need to do better.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place for activities
Positive experience: Got everything we need for reasonable price - pool, spa, sauna, gym, group classes. There are also courts nearby that you can book.
Fantastic experience: very good staff are fantastic
Negative experience: The instructors and teachers are really very nice but the ladies at the reception are pretty rude. Hard to get make up lessons their 90 days policy is a joke.
Negative experience: I joined for the spa as I find the hot water therapeutic. It was closed a lot and I could not find out if it was open as no one would answer the phone and it was not mentioned on the web page. The number of times I left disappointed was very frustrating. The final time this happened I went straight home and cancelled my membership then ceremoniously dropped my entry fob in the bin where it belonged.
Fantastic experience: I recently joined the gym, very helpful stuff specially lindsey the girl in reception
Fantastic experience: Always friendly, clean facilities. Can't wait for the indoor pool to re-open!
Positive experience: Inside pool is currently under repair till end of May. It’s heated and was pretty nice. They do have the 50m outside pool but it’s not heated. Big spa and sauna which I think is also closed till end of May. I think it’s about $22 per fortnight for pool/sauna/hydropool membership which is not bad. Only negative is sometimes the Classes take over the whole of the inside pool. No where for casual users to do laps.
Negative experience: Indoor pool and kids water park are barely ever functional, but they still charge full price? Lol
Positive experience: 나쁘지않지만 공사중으로 이용불가한곳이 많음!
Positive experience: Customer service can improve
Negative experience: Place is a Joke.. nothing works. Even the turnstiles.. no indoor pool. No spa. Not even a discounted rate due to nothing working
Positive experience: Joined up as a member a couple of months ago. The service here is awful. The reception staff never know what’s going on (which I’m not sure is actually their fault) they always tell me to send an email when I want some info or want to make a complaint about something. Indoor pool is closed until April. Got there yesterday and there’s a sign out front “Indoor pool closed. Outdoor pool closed. Spa closed” so what actually is open? The sauna and the gym. Only option is to suspend membership or keep paying. They need to halve the membership cost at the moment. I also do classes at the gym, had to send an email for that too. Turned up twice on Monday night for Zumba, and they’d replaced it with body step and not told anyone. First time I assumed the Zumba instructor was sick and just let it go and tried step… injured my knee so that class isn’t for me. Second time was 3 weeks later, when I asked reception I was told they don’t have a Zumba instructor. It’s just been left as Zumba and people turn up and are just expected to do the step class which isn’t an appropriate replacement. Tried it again as had driven all the way there… injured my knee again. Schedule is now right but only after a very strongly worded email. Whoever runs this place really needs to get it together. I do really enjoy the Aqua and Body Combat classes. Wish body combat was on more days a week.
Negative experience: Over crowded. Staff is not friendly. Understaffed.
Positive experience: The smell of chlorine is really strong
Positive experience: I hope the indoor pool issue is solved quickly. Miss swimming there.
Positive experience: Only one pool currently in service leaves free playtime in pool restricted. The water slide was open and my granddaughter loved it.
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed, they are doing the classes in the outdoor pools, with no signs, every time different teacher and different lane, have to waste 5-10 minutes of the 30 minutes class just to figure out, where is my kids class is happening.. Such a poor management
Fantastic experience: Great facilities inside, outside lap pool and children's swim areas. Gym,sauna and equipped with nice friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Ripples is the best pools I’ve been to very good staff , very clean pools , very fun for the kids to play in and swim! , but the bathrooms OMG they need to get it cleaned there’s puddles of water in the bathrooms .
Negative experience: I've been to ripples a bunch of times but the amount of times the indoor pools have been closed is more often than it is open Outdoor pool has no shade not even over the Children's water park The little shade they do have is set back away fron the pool where parents cannot supervise their children from. Suggestion - Install a large shade sail over the outdoor pool and children's water park - separate the indoor pools so if one pools have an issue it doesn't affect the other pools and they can keep a part of the indoor pool open
Negative experience: No point in paying to go here. Splash park out of order for year or so. NOW the inside pool has malfunctions. Like what the hell is going on with this place.
Negative experience: Main webpage not updated to show correct opening hours for Christmas/New year period, patrons can not be expected to search various pages to find information,
Fantastic experience: Staff are good and the place is clean I go for a sauna and spa just to exercise and have found it to be a pleasant place The people are friendly as well
Negative experience: I’m very dissatisfied about the customer service. My daughter started class in August 2023, we have requested to set direct debit through email and phone every week since then, still this issue has not been solved and no one at the front reception is able to solve this minor problem for that reason we have to pay $5 extra per class. Horrible customer service and not good.
Fantastic experience: Great coming here on a hot day. Friendly staff. Affordable day out with the family. The outdoor watermark and slides is also a lot of fun.
Negative experience: Have a membership. Someone pooed in the pool last week and we Goot sent out to the outside one but all lanes were taken up by lessons. Only one back corner was available. It was not suitable for me to swim due to an injury and my young child could not swim there either so I had to sit in the heat and watch my child play as he required supervision but I couldn't go on the slides. It was also very crowded due to the inside pool being closed. Then I went for a swim today and it's closed for training of some sort. So I'm paying for a membership where I cannot use it whenever. It's pretty rude too. If someone has a membership, maybe send out a text so I don't arrange my day and drive over to be told it's closed. Oh and the showers and toilets have poor run off so are always puddled with water. The drains fill up a lot too.
Fantastic experience: Fun experience. Don’t go there Sunday morning tho as they have like 10 classes going at once
Positive experience: Friendly staff, clean facilities, well priced ample parking But unfortunately don’t expect cash
Negative experience: Called up to Enquiry about swimming lessons for my children and the lady at St clair on the phone was dismissive and rude the whole time on the phone.
Positive experience: Amending my bad review as I have returned as a member. The lady who does the aqua aerobics (Dianne) is amazing and the sole reason for my change of heart.
Fantastic experience: The staff was really friendly and helpful. They gave me the instruction needed for the pool. Slightly busy for indoor pools but the 50m outdoor pool is just perfect for laps.
Positive experience: The pool has excellent vibes, clean n friendly staff n is quite big but the shower area OMG need to upgrade. I swim every day in different areas but the shower n toilets there were bad. They should do something about it. Really need a good change
Fantastic experience: Well maintained pool, lots of space and friendly staff. Plenty of parking.
Positive experience: Attended yesterday, we had a fun. We were a little disappointed that the indoor slide for kids has been removed and the outdoor pools were closed.
Fantastic experience: Great water park for the kids! Canteen has hot food, coffee and ice cream. Perfect outing for the family without blowing the budget. Kids are active and having a great time, everytime. The kids indoor pool is the largest I have ever, seen.
Fantastic experience: I found the staff friendly and very helpful
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, sauna, spa and pool .
Negative experience: Very bad customer service very unprofessional on the reception
Fantastic experience: Great helpful staff in the Gym supporting my needs. Recommended.
Negative experience: The spa is almost always "closed for maintenance" and when it is open, the temperature is lukewarm at best.
Fantastic experience: Awesome pool, warm water and very well maintained despite a huge crowd
Fantastic experience: Great local spot. Hidden gym empty and decent
Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre. Great facilities. Spa, sauna, indoor pool, outdoor pool.
Fantastic experience: So many pools and classes. Very clean and love going here every weekend
Negative experience: I was in the sauna for 15 min and next minute a cockroach comes crawling out from the bottom felt absolutely disgusted
Fantastic experience: Great place well maintained. Classic staff and services. Easy access and parking. Great place to be alone and with family!!
Fantastic experience: Great place to take your lil ones for a reprieve from that western Sydney heat. Sauna & spa facilities Eftpos only.
Negative experience: Their receptionist always lies, we called before going there to confirm if the slides are open or not and she said yes its open but when we reached there it was close and our son was upset. It happened 3 times with us.
Negative experience: After all the years of gouging the community you'd think the owners would invest in some sort of air conditioning, the place reeks of a dirty hot Bikram Yoga studio, you could also put some signs that state no vaping or no smoking in the outdoor sections if that is a rule that you enforce, but I'm sure any investment back into the business is probably too much to ask.
Fantastic experience: Great sauna and heated spar, inside and outside pools. Amazing kids water park inside and out. Small gym plus studios
Positive experience: The gym is great, but it's a shame the outdoor pool is closed now until summer, and the indoor pool is so heavily chlorinated that you feel it burning your skin all day.
Positive experience: Love coming here for the warm water and deep-ish pools. Alright prices for food good for a nice time with the family
Fantastic experience: Visited this place on Boxing Day 2022! So happy it was open for longer hours than the Emerton pools. Brang the kids n baby for a good dip, lots of people, but not too crowded. The ladies at front reception were beautiful and greeted so warmly. Love the space n shelter it provided for those with mats (great idea I’ve never seen that at other pools) The kids of course enjoyed the waterpark.
Negative experience: Hopeless service! We called so many times for make up lessons for our kids but they keep telling us do it online but apparently every time we try to do it online the website isn’t working and then they tell us that our systems are down and everything is done through Penrith council. Then what’s the point of the staff there if we do all the work we email Penrith council we follow up with everything all the time keep calling them. We keep paying for classes that our kids don’t even attend because only 4 make up lessons are given and we can’t even get a make up lesson!
Positive experience: Educational, Safe and great value for money are things I would certainly associate with this place.... However "Fun" certainly isn't one of them... The only slide for kids was closed and so much of the pool is closed for swimming lessons that practically nothing is available for a general purpose swim.... My child has already learnt to swim and just wants to swim and play... On the plus side I was really impressed with the lifeguards. They were really attentive to details and making sure everyone was safe. It was like a military operation with them. So in summary it would be great for young kids to learn to swim, and the food is extremely cheap. It clearly serves certain groups of the community well. It's basically more geared up to be a specialised centre and not a general purpose "swimming pool". Therefore it's more like a "swimming education center" with a small amount left for a swim.
Positive experience: Outdoor slide area is great. Would have been good if the dedicated laps lanes in the pool could actually enforced, but I do not envy the lifeguards here trying to enforce half the rules.
Negative experience: Rude staff who didn’t want to help me at all. Young girl around mid 20s couldn’t even be bothered to check for me how many lap lanes were available. Just outright refused to help. Lifeguards are only there to socialise and aren’t actually supervising anyone. Wouldn’t bring my kids here especially after all the drownings in the news after Christmas. Attended 3:30, 28/10/22
Positive experience: Great place , just need everything running on hot days such as the kids outdoor play area and signs clearly stating near the entry in regards to babies/toddlers wearing correct nappies or they can't swim with possibly some for sale. The above can be frustrating and upsetting.
Negative experience: Worst swimming pool I’ve ever been to, cockroaches seen everywhere on floor, dead and alive. Indoor pool closed due to unknown reasons, waterpark under maintenance and outdoor swimming pool closed due to lightning strike, nothing we could do except wait for 30 minutes for the outdoor pool to reopen. Renovations and pool closure were not stated on website, extremely misleading. Came due to Australia Day event, stated ‘Free food all day’ on website however, food was only available in the morning. Extremely disappointed with my visit. There are many better pools within a 10 minute radius that are of extremely higher quality. DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!!
Negative experience: Cracked tiles in both Indoor and outdoor pools, watch your feet they are sharp... the kids playgrounds have been out of order for well over a year now... The whole place is turning pretty shabby. disappointing really. Especially when the entry fee is quite high.
Negative experience: Disgusted with staff and management. Council owners should replace ripples management and put it up for tender. Morbodly obese staff smoke out the front of venue triggering deadly asmha attack. The management got nasty when i complained to royal life saving society when they tried to take off floatation device of 4yo ridiculously saying it could get caught on bottom of slide. Staff harrased me to keep within arms reach of my 6 year old in the shallow end when the rules say she has to only be in eyesight for a 6yo whilst i did shoulder rehab exercises in the waste deep section. Malicious and slanderours Staff then put in a false and conflicting police report saying they had to rescue my child from the bottom of the pool, which was a complete lie and went against me in the family court and cost me my child to an extreamly evil woman who murdered her soul. I pray God has his way with you and that you evil pattracidal women get your cumupance.
Fantastic experience: We have a family membership here but usually only use it for Aqua Classes, Swimming Pool and Spa use. So many times the spa gets shut down for maintenance and there seems to be too much fouling where they need to crack down on it and be more strict about it and also the aqua classes need to be limited to at least 25 max coz 35 is overcrowded and you don't get to woek out properly. Alot of people complain about it and now they're not coming. We have yet to use the gym and other classes. Nola and Dianne are really good though
Negative experience: I’ve had my daughter enrolled in their “Learn to Swim” lessons for almost a year and have made the decision to go somewhere else as I have been unhappy with the program. There is no consistency between the instructors which is hard for the kids to understand and keep up with. My first lesson I had to just follow what was going on as nothing was explained to me. My daughter was hardly ever put under the water, maybe 4 times at best. When I had a trial lesson with an alternative swim school, she went under the water 5+ times in the 1 half an hour lesson. So this made me realise that what we had been doing wasn’t necessarily the norm. The only positive I would take is the receptionist who is there on the weekend (we attended on Sundays), Geri, as she is so lovely and makes everything so comfortable. I have passed this feedback onto them and I hope they make some improvements for the current and future families that go here.
Negative experience: Have come here 3 times and every times been the same , value is cheap 10$ for sauna access and swimming. But every time I’ve come spa pool has been closed so only saunas available. Sauna’s decent size for 4-5 people but gets very busy sometimes 6-8 people try cramming in at a time very unpleasant. Temperature very mid would prefer it could go bit hotter Mabey water bucket for the rocks would help get steam. Won’t be coming back unless I was desperate.
Negative experience: Today, I was stopped from using the ladies change rooms, my kids were here for swimming lessons, I have an 11 yr old boy & 10 yr old girl who are autistic. I was told by the duty manager we couldn't use the ladies change rooms as by son was 11 & we had to use the disabled change room. We did, only to find it was small & my kids had difficulty getting changed as they both require help my son has hip displacia & needs to be able to sit down to get changed. The disabled change room was completely wet, there was not a dry place for either of my kids to stand let alone sit. My son slipped over on the wet floor, I managed to catch him. This is unacceptable to expect anyone with a physical disability to use this room.
Negative experience: If you are thinking to enrol you child for learn to swim. Please think twice. You will be circulating between the lady who is in charge of learn to swim, who will ask you to go to the front desk for any queries. The front desk will say they are only reception and you should write email. The emails are never responded to, and if it is, surprisingly they are the people from the front desk. Try calling them and see no one answer you n ur calls r automatically hung up. If you submit a voucher, make sure you follow up a 100 times n still see it get expired. Im not sure if the staff or system is to be blamed but my older daughter attended this place for long time but the issues are from last few months. Could be from the new unexperienced staff or the system. I am beyond disappointed!!!
Positive experience: The staff are very nice and friendly - the pool is fine but the middle section is always used for swimming lessons or classes so you either have to be in the shallow end or move to the 2m lane :( -there is always a contamination as well , at least once every two days - not the pools fault but it’s kinda gross
Positive experience: We went on a Saturday just after 12pm. The kids area was closed outside for renovations inside slide was closed and the food place was closed. Kids had a fun time swimming. Friendly staff.
Positive experience: I love this place. Just about to leave there now. I go for the sauna, spa and a swim at the end. Soo relaxed and refreshed. Close to home and not pricey at all!. I will be back again this week!
Positive experience: Nice place. Lovely helpful staff.. . shower rooms could use an upgrade for sure..toilet doors don't even lock..
Positive experience: Good place for a swim, spa and sauna. Live away from the beach now so this is a good alternative to have nearby. As of today, use of spa, sauna and pool for one day is $10 per person (adult). A nice addition to the area. Can't wait till the maintenance for the 50m pool is finished - would like to do laps there. Though the 25m one has been fine to use.
Fantastic experience: Really nice place. Very clean.
Fantastic experience: Generally quiet lap pools during school days. Good sauna and spa.
Positive experience: Affordable place to visit, friendly staff. Needs more chairs inside and the slide and outdoor splash park is always closed when we go which is disappointing for the kids.
Positive experience: Great staff and facilities - pool, gym, sauna, spa - but the upgrades there are taking forever, the cafe is a bit boring and the bathrooms are like all pool bathroom areas - unpleasant.
Negative experience: Phones never get answered intentionally. I stood at the gate, called, heard the ringer with the staff sittin on seat totally ignoring. Upon askin why she wont answer, she replied "too busy".
Negative experience: Very disappointing, there is no longer anything at all in the inside pool for small children the slide is under maintenance and evidently has been for some time. All other kids activities are also half removed and not operational
Positive experience: Great gym and pools. Wish they didn't have swim lessons, squads and aqua on all at the same time as leaves no room for anyone else.
Positive experience: Kids love going rain, hail or shine. Would be better if they had the splash park opened, and a shade sail over the top and the indoor slide needs an upgrade, it's been closed for months.
Positive experience: Great place for lessons for the kids. Instructors are friendly and helpful as are the staff. Can be a little loud when the aquarobics is on and makes it hard to concentrate in the classes.
Fantastic experience: It's hot everything I wanted, like gym, all different exercise programmes. Good and wide facilities and are clean. Has enough parking spaces for vehicles. People of all ages can enjoy. Friendly staffs too.
Positive experience: Great indoor pool. Last visit had a sign 9ut front saying pool was closed. Not sure why. Some fans in showers/change room to extract steam would be helpful. On a hot day it's like stepping into a sauna. Not easy to get changed when you've broken out into a full sweat. Otherwise staff are friendly and attentive.
Positive experience: Terrific learn to swim programs. Good pool sizes. Little small, and they don't turn their slides on which is disappointing for children. All their play equipment is turned off.
Negative experience: 8/10 2 stars only because it’s a nice pool and decent facilities but I am appalled at the behaviour of one particular staff member, she was in a navy coloured uniform and I believe may be the lifeguards supervisor. She was an older white woman. All day there were multiple different kids jumping off the little platforms in the middle of the kids pool and nothing was said. Even other days I’ve been there I’ve seen the same thing - it was only once my kids copied and jumped off she had a problem and came over with her whistle and yelled for them to get off. Obviously I corrected them and told them not to do it again but kids continued to do it after that incident and she just turned a blind eye!!! Not once did any other kid get told not to jump off. My kids are brown and I believe we were just experiencing racism from her. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Negative experience: When I go to ripples, the spa and sauna always seems to be closed. Even at times the pool itself even the showers. If you waking up early to go it’s not fun traveling at an early hour to find out all the things that you mainly go there for are closed. When everything is open though, it’s open, and I mean when you have a shower there is no privacy whatsoever. For 2022 you’d expect better private facilities.
Positive experience: Nice pool, plenty of parking, great staff and customer service. Few things Ripples St Mary's need to improve. 1. Families need more family washrooms and change rooms, currently there's only one there. 2. The slide inside the indoor pool close to kids pool area is on maintenance for years now, get it fixed for kids to have more fun or remove it permanently. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Very few people here. Quite and clean. I took my baby here twice a a week. He loves it
Positive experience: I like this pool, clean with lots of life guards. I think they are doing some renovations so the front entry is not available have to park tlat the shops and cross over was $9 for one parent and child. Recommended if you like to swim they also have hot tub and sauna for extra $.
Fantastic experience: Ripple's has had a face lift - the pools are sensational, the staff are awesome and having a Vietnam Veterans group keeps us all young and fit!! I attend twice a week and i am happy to call it a favourite place of mine!!
Fantastic experience: Great customer service. Teachers are friendly and professional. Student and parent can stay in the pool after the class as long as they want.
Fantastic experience: Seriously well trained staff. Very caring and professional. Absolute worth the $6.50 casual entry cost. Will be returning more often. Great place for kids as well. Very safe plus water is never cold.
Fantastic experience: Great friendly staff. Great place to do group fitness. Love Aqua aerobics.
Fantastic experience: My kids super love this place!
Fantastic experience: Great place to relax. Convenient, clean and helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: Excellent staff and management
Fantastic experience: Aqua aerobics there is so much fun! Everyone is friendly!
Fantastic experience: I love ripples st Marys, Nice and clean
