Fantastic experience: Really enjoy this space, large and reasonably open which suits me greatly. Generally not so busy that you can't find and use what you are looking for. Staff range from "absolutely awesome" to "oh well" but that's anywhere & everywhere tbh, same applies to the other gym users, some are fabulous & friendly, some not so considerate of others. Can't wait to see what it becomes after major reconstruction starting later in 2026, hopefully new equipment that will align it with the competition.

Negative experience: I rang to ask when the toddler pool would open up they claimed three. Got there on time it opened at four. My son loved it but he hated an hour for the small pool to open up. Lifeguards were friendly bit the wait ruined it for us.

Negative experience: Recently returned to swimming in the morning after a lengthy hiatus to find the outdoor pool 'closed'. I asked at the desk if there was a problem with the outdoor pool whether there were times during the day it would be open for use. The lady on reception said she didn't know and to talk to the 'DM' about it. I asked what 'DM' stands for, to which she replied Duty Manager. I couldn't find the DM but spoke to a helpful life guard who let me know that the outdoor pool is not open on weekday mornings as there wasn't anyone rostered on - open at 3pm. I asked if this was because of a shortage of staff and they replied that there are plenty of staff (life guards) but they were not rostered on. This is very disappointing. Patrons are precluded from using an excellent outdoor pool on weekday mornings due to a decision to not roster staff to have it opened. Also unfortunate for the many staff who are available but are not rostered on. The centre has become a 'poster child' for cost cutting - saving money due to not rostering staff for the whole facility during opening hours and lack-luster maintenance. The manner of those on reception is also less than friendly and are not helpful.

Negative experience: Staff available on the counter is meant to have to have great customer service but they were quite rude to people coming in and asking questions, i wish they would be taught basic customer service skills There isnt any scanner available for moving traffic and lady on the counter with glasses on was rude with all the people who trying to be in on time . Second staff was not involved to keep the traffic going . There was a guy earlier who always let the traffuc moving even if he was service someone because all they need to do is scan and let people in , but yet again this lady was rude to everyone around me as well

Negative experience: Just so we are clear, its OK to menstruate and urinate in the pools, but not breastfeed? Smells like discrimination to me. According to Australian law, a mothers right to breastfeed anywhere, anytime, any place is protected. Furthermore, in adequately chlorinated water, breast milk and baby spit up, pose no health risks. I expected that your management should be aware of basic knowledge such as this.

Negative experience: One of the receptionist there she work at nigth is very rude since then.The way she speak is not nice.im just asking if i can change my children swimming time she so rude.so i decided to cancel there swimming lesson..she should assist me nicely .Ill just wanna ask Blacktown Council to hire someone who can deliver service to your people im just saying

Negative experience: Receptions person should learn what is customer service, greet and smile to all community members. Always Saturday parking issues kids get late to their class. I cancelled my kids lesson still they direct debit my account. Should see Olympic aquatic centre staff.

Negative experience: I wanted to practice with my kids the things they do in their swimming lessons but there is no room in the big pool. It’s all swimming lanes. Several kids wanted to play in there but were kicked out and those trying to practice swimming with a pool noodle were also kicked out of the big pool. Riverstone pool is much better. We were going to go there but it was closed even though it’s spring.

Negative experience: The front desk ladies are miserable with no smiles, the lifeguards don't watch the pool instead have a lovely old chat to eachother and then tell us off for lane etiquette- we were literally resting after a lap. Honestly shut this clown show down, the outdoor pool is also closed and having to ask permission to sit on the grass. Get out of here. Do not go to this pool!

Fantastic experience: I have had bad experiences with rude Reception staff in the past. The coaches and the upkeep of the complex all are good.

Negative experience: I was returning back from office after a very hectic day. The next day I had project deliverable. Amidst a tight schedule, I wanted to pickup my girlfriend and not work out myself. Since she was in the workout area, I scanned my tag and met her there for a chat. Obviously I was in a business casual and to my surprise the lady in charge of the gym due to some ‘weird’ reason by my ‘looks’ thought that I would jump in the treadmill and start running in that attire (that was the reason provided on being asked later). So I was confronted that whether I was a member of the gym or not, while I was chatting with my girlfriend that I will come back to pick her up. On saying that yes I am a member. She was not satisfied and mentioned rudely that if I am not a member, I am not allowed to stay there. So for the second time I said, I am a member. On the third instance both of us had to stress on the fact that I was here to convey a message and will leave when done. So overall uncomfortable experience. To anyone reading it, we should remember that we should not ‘assume’ something on the basis of ‘looks’! Good luck all!

Fantastic experience: Came on a friday afternoon, a nice lady gave me awesome customer service. There's an outdoor and indoor pool as well and it was quite empty at 2pm before people finish school so that was nice, lots of parking.

Negative experience: Called to learn to Swim Karen, when I ask how can I get accounts statement, she replied why do you need statements? Such rude lady. This would affect enrolment number in the centre. Such staff should not be in customer service. I cancelled enrolment.

Negative experience: Was about to enroll my child into the swimming class but being shocked by how inpatient the reception lady was on the phone. The swim school offers no flexibility to the the families. I can imagine how frustrated the families will be after joining here as their children cannot get sick or other plans for more than 4 times per year. NO way I can send my child to here. Hope they can offer more flexibility with missed classes and improve the customer services at least be polite.

Negative experience: Classes take up most of the lanes that only 2 lanes are allocated for lap swimmers. No one takes notice of varying speed lanes and lifeguards dont enforce them. Ladies at the front desk are more interested in their chats rather than actual customer service.

Negative experience: Nice pools but the staff in the pool area rather Rude , my 3 year old daughter asked if she could borrow a noodle for swimming, we were told they for the kids class...keeping in mind 2 kids in the class and 8 noodles, yet not allowed to borrow one...when i asked about the full bin of noodles down the other end of the classes if i could use one of them i was not in the words " Oh no...no" so basically the health and teachings from the staff here clearly dont have the well-being and health of thr children's safety at the top of their priorities. I get it people can borrow one and take it home , theft is high but when telling my daughter the lady said we csn borrow one my daughters response was "That isn't nice , they dont share , sharing is good" at least my daughters vaules are still right even when faced with disappointment.

Negative experience: Reception staff Julie lacks communication skills and does not take accountability for her actions. She left us waiting for half an hour meaning our children could not attend their swimming lesson. We later found out she was attending a “meeting”. She was unapologetic and kept saying she was not in the wrong. Will not go back to this aquatic centre because of Julie.

Fantastic experience: One of the best swimming pools in blacktown area. They open early on both weekdays and weekends. I can go for a swim before work. Entry fee is very affordable. They still accept cash, not like some other places card only. I have been going there for more than 10 years. Just love it!

Negative experience: Staff is very rude on the reception and other staff as well we use the toilet they said you can’t used that because it’s for holiday kids i told them they didn’t write over there like that and not even written there this is private toilet so they give me the explanation I have to ask them if I wanna use the toilet I think is this a school or class room I need permission from them to go to the washroom as a woman I feel shy to ask someone I need to to go to the washroom

Negative experience: what a attitude of swiming guard lady on 02/02/24 morning, how rude her behaviour is? screaming from miles away, and the way she pointed and the way she said something was disgusting. very rude staff, she deserves 0 rating out of 100

Positive experience: My school went their for the swimming carnival and it is pretty decent. The toilets are clean and not too bad. The pool is a good 50 meters and is indoors. The canteen also sells chips for only $3.50 perfect for students like me.

Positive experience: I came to Blacktown pools yesterday and I’m really impressed and feel so sad for that one lifeguard had to go thru all that trouble when these little girls wouldn’t follow the rules but I’m really proud of him how he handled the situation but yea i really love the pools it’s clean but a little dirty in the kids pool and just don’t wanna complain but that’s just a little problem but I’m grateful to come to Blacktown pools god bless

Fantastic experience: If your needed holiday programs for your school aged children try BLITZ program. Space to run and move around, swimming and jumpy castle. Feels like being in your back yard with friends to meet and supervision.

Positive experience: Love taking kids here for swimming and love the update with the play area, lost a star because kiosk always closed. Kids love hot chips after swimming and had to buy elsewhere.

Positive experience: The last time I went to Blacktown pools was back in 1988 when I used to frequent as teenagers. Looks like a few updates have been applied which is a sign of the times. The only criticism I would have is that the grounds needed upkeep. The grass looked like it need a cut and there was a lot of fallen branches around. But all the pools had those lane dividers and you were limited in some respects

Negative experience: My blood boils as I write this review, fueled by the utter disgust I feel towards Justin, a lifeguard who not only failed to uphold basic human decency but actively displayed appalling behavior towards my disabled brother. I can’t to this swimming pool, for enjoyment and relaxation. However, Justin turned it into a nightmare with his discriminatory and insensitive actions. His rudeness surpassed mere unprofessionalism; it was blatant prejudice against my brother. This young man should not have this job if he doesn’t know how to approach a person.

Negative experience: Julie needs to improve her communication skills over the phone. She will cut you in the middle while you talking and she will book your child in the wrong level. Then you waste your time talking to reception staff explaining what level your child is in. So you end up having 20 minutes lesson instead of 30 minutes but you pay for 30 minutes. 3 of the ladies on reception Wednesday evening 29th November around 6pm make fun of the customers when you explain something. They will literally roll their eyes on you. As if they are doing any favour on us. We are paying for the service and they are definitely not doing volunteer work there. They are there to serve the customers. Blacktown Council need to read reviews on that page. I will also make official complaint about it..

Positive experience: Pools themselves were great, same as the kids splash area. Lifeguards were turning a blind eye to kids running up to the pool and jumping over us to bomb in front of us which wasn't ideal but they also turned a blind eye when we did it back so there's that There was a used pad on the ground in the women's showers

Fantastic experience: Love this place. There are 3 pools - for babies/toddlers, general, and training. Better call and confirm if you are looking for baby pool or training pool. Staff are good and friendly. Most of the time, other patrons are good and behave with courtesy.

Positive experience: Down to three stars due to some unprofessional lifeguards. Some like to tell lies about things they haven't seen. Others do nothing. Some do the bare minimum, others not too many, are good. What a shame.

Negative experience: **DISCLAIMER** My experience & review is based upon an interview for a position within the council for this centre, where I was more than fully qualified & was discriminated against. I applied for a role that I noticed vacant online, one of the conditions was to be "full vaccinated against COVID 19", I was more than qualified, had my two jabs & had the years of experience under my belt within the industries that was required. I was asked for an interview the following week & accepted. After the interview which lasted round 45-50minutes with the hiring committee Mr Lachlan Lawless, Katie Welch & Diane Boatwright. Lachlan seemed hesitant to ask if I was triple vaccinated although he did ask, I stated "no I am fully vaccinated" which essentially (& worldwide) means double. Although Lachlan seemed uneasy by asking he requested that I needed to be triple jabbed to be considered for the role as it is a requirement by the council policy. Now, I have been discriminated against by my gender & my religious beliefs in the past on separate occasions, & I hoped that we as a society & community were past the point of divisiveness & disrespect to our fellow neighbours & members in the communities. I didn't really push back enough on the other occasions but this time I wasn't happy with getting another unnecessary experimental medication that I do not need, I am young, fit & healthy & double jabbed. I asked Lachlan to reconsider & to the hiring team to do the sensible thing & not discriminate against me due to my medical history & that I am fully qualified for the role. Lachlan than proceeded to explain that its a council requirement from People & Culture, & that if I had any questions to email them. He was hesitant to give me a name to speak to someone at that department even though I asked twice, he did not give me the email & when I looked up "People & Culture Blacktown Council" there is no such department/Division/Concept. Since I cannot contact them I had no other choice but to leave a review. Under "The Public Health (COVID-19 Self-Isolation) (No 3) Amendment Order 2022" & "the Public Health (COVID-19 General) Order (No 3) 2022" were repealed at 12.01am on 14 October 2022 under the "Public Health Repeal Order 2022". This means all requirements & provisions under these Public Health Orders have been repealed. Many companies & employers have since retracted their policies regarding the COVID19 vaccination requirements as now they are no longer protected under State or Federal law(s). I also made this aware of Lachlan & the committee but it seems to have not taken into consideration, just like my application. I hope this is not a regular occurrence moving forward, but I know that I will now not be considered for this role due to my inquisitive state on the policy & the reactionary attitude by the hiring committee.

The staff there is professional and very kind, respecting the customers and helpfull Indoor Pool There will be limited lane space available from 4 pm. on weekdays. From 4 pm to 7.30 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, there are 2 lap lanes and 1 recreational lane available. From 4 pm to 7.30 pm Tuesday and Thursday, there is a minimum of 1 lap lane and 1 recreational lane available Outdoor Pool From 4 pm to 7.30 pm Monday and Friday, there is a minimum of 1 lap lane and 1 recreational lane available. Blacktown Aquatic Centre is Western Sydney's main competition pool hosting over 50 swimming meets each year. Kieran Perkins broke the 800 m Freestyle World Record at Blacktown Aquatic Centre in 1992. Blacktown Aquatic Centre underwent a refurbishment to expand our services and provide a training facility for swimmers at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The Centre prides itself on being more than just a competition pool, however, offering health, fitness, fun, and leisure opportunities for everyone. This includes 3 pools, splash pad, gym, group fitness studio, creche, Aqua Learn to Swim, Kidz Blitz school holiday program, and even a skate ramp! Thanks to the staff and all the thanks to the Managers and to Blacktown Council... So whether you are looking for a day out with the kids, the opportunity to relax or if you are ready to improve your fitness. Thanks to Blacktown council and all the people who participated, keeping it clean, safe, and beautiful !

Fantastic experience: Most of the bad comments are from people who must have a serious chip on their shoulders who think the world revolves around them. I found the aquatic centre all round excellent not a single problem

Fantastic experience: Went there for my Swimming Carnival, with an indoor lap pool (50m), outdoor lap pool(25m), and baby pool outside(10m?). They also offer swimming lessons here. There is a cafe with many types of food, and two changing rooms, one outdoor, one indoor, but the outdoor one is less maintained, so go in the indoor one. There is a playground outside. Aquatic Centre is located 15 minutes away from Blacktown Station, and 7 minutes away from Devitt T-way.

Negative experience: Really disappointing to hear some of the comments made about my younger cousins in their swimming lessons by their instructor. I was on the top level seating and could still hear the comments being made by the instructor to a fellow instructor in training. It was evident that the instructor did not care about their learning and implied to the other instructor that they are oppositionally defiant so can do what they want at this point. This type of attitude is extremely off-putting. I have advised their parents to change swimming schools or instructors at the very least.

Negative experience: Missed Lesson Policy: No makeup swimming lessons are available for missed classes. If a student misses up to 4 lessons due to illness or injury, a family swim pass per missed lesson is available subject to a doctor's certificate being provided. Adult students will be offered 2 x adult swim entries. If a student misses 5 or more consecutive lessons due to illness or injury a credit for each of the missed lessons is available subject to a doctor's certificate being provided. If a student has a planned family holiday where it is known that at least 5 weeks of lessons will be missed then we recommend not to enrol into the term as no refund or credit will be given for the missed lessons. We recommend you skip the term and enrol in the following term. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the same day and time if a term is missed.

Negative experience: I experienced bad customer service with one of the operator named Karen at Blacktown aquatic centre. I was re-enrolling my son for next term and couldn’t understand one of the term then she was making fun on my face, I felt it’s bit rude and disrespectful to their customer. I think if your customer don’t know terminology used by you then you should explain it rather than making fun of them. We are citizen to this country but we are still facing racism like this. Very disappointing!!!!

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my first time here, lap swimming from 5:30am on a Thursday morning. They have both 50m indoor and 50m outdoor pools but I had to swim indoor since the outdoor one was closed. They told me the outdoor pool only opens Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Good water quality and facilities.

Positive experience: 50m length pool is great for lap swimming. Spacious bathroom. Cons: water is on a colder side it takes a while to get adjusted. Entry is not self serviced, you have to wait in queue even if you have swim pass. Swimming class here is always a hit or miss, only few instructors are good. If you are looking for swim class for your kids look for other places.

Negative experience: I’ve been attending the centre in the afternoons since 2016 for my kids leaning to swim. Although the facilities are good and had some upgrades, although there are some good and caring instructors I must (finally) complain about a few things: - Over the years most the ladies in charge of the front counter have become more and more bitter with patrons, with blunt and bad customer service; officially not rude but tone and attitude is clear. It is not only to me, many other parents and patrons male comments about it over the years). They barely ever pick up the phone and even less called back on request - Also the progress in swimming is too slow in the just half-an-hour sessions. I think this is Ok for younger kids, but as they got older the centre should offer programs with 2 days per week or 1h sessions for more progress and consistency. I tried having the kids in consecutive sessions and at least that worked a bit. - Even before the Covid-19 the instructors come and go and my kids sometimes have had even 3 or more different instructors over the term, which is not only frustrating for the kids progress

Negative experience: Its an okay indoor pool, dont swim here in winter, Ive swam here a few times before and Ive not been happy during winter in the indoor pool with the heating( I am an actual swimmer, I dont use the pool for leisure, only sport) The water has been chilly and the kids swim into the training lanes, with no one telling them to stay out of the swimmers lane, this is dangerous because if I do sprints I can hurt them. The public doesnt listen to the life gaurds, it would say no diving and then kids would dive and jump in the pool, then the life gaurd wont say anything to them, or he would say something and they wont listen. The only friendly people Ive met here is the lovely receptionist ladies, but besides that everyone else acts grumpy and rude. Boys go into the ladies showers and change rooms, boys sometimes old enough to know what a lady is, and would look at you while you dress in the changing area. The outdoor pool is only used for sqauds in winter, so if I actually want to train there I wont be allowed. This is not fair or right. The toilets is sometimes dirty and gross, and extremely wet. I almost fell once using the toilet.

Negative experience: Great place for a swim. My son has been attending swimming lessons for over 5 years now, and has had wonderful instructors throughout. Toilets and family change rooms are well kept. Reason for my rating is the attitude of the staff at the front desk. I’ve read many comments reporting the same and find it appalling that no action has been taken against them. If you can bear the disrespect when gaining access to the centre, then you’re bound to have a good time.

Positive experience: The ladies sitting on reception are rude, otherwise swimming center in itself if very good.

Negative experience: Very bad experience in booking while we try to book never cooperation in advance and on time they have no placement after one or two week they not took enrolment.

Positive experience: Very big aquatic center in the area, lot of amenities in the place. Provides gym, child care, indoor and outdoor pools. Staff and trainers are really goog

Positive experience: They keep on changing their opening hours all the time. Be sure to verify their opening hours every time before you go there. Indoor pool is usually restricted for public most of the time due to one or other functions.

Negative experience: Customer service is Nil, the front reception old lady, she is a super racist. Don't even bother to help specifically for Asians. Disappointed.

Negative experience: Appalling!! If you like your kids YELLED at by young male lifeguards then this is pool for you! When it comes to talking to the general public we encountered two that were totally unprofessional. Unbeknown to them, there is a right way and a wrong way to talk to people especially kids, yelling and rudeness is never ok! Management needs to swiftly pull them aside and get them focus more on their duty of care, and focus less on swearing, chit chat, ear piercings, and designer sunglasses. I will be writing a formal complaint as well.

Fantastic experience: Nice place to have the swimming lessons for kids and adults. Bit busy on Friday evenings and weekends. It's councils so. Don't expect 5star level facilities but it's good enough for swimming and Gym.

Positive experience: Great venue. One toilet block is somewhat run down. More frequent cleaning may improve nasty odours. The food service seemed overwhelmed with the expected visitors for a swimming carnival. Perhaps catering for larger crowds when expected should be considered to reduce the long waiting times for food.

Negative experience: Customer service ZERO, the front reception desk STAFF are rude (mainly the old lady, she is racist and needs to be removed). I know multiple people complained about the situation, but I wonder why council isn't doing anything about this! My experience is not one time staff doing this, as I take my son there twice a week over a year now and if it wasn't for squads swimming classes nearby, I wouldn't bother going there. Council, shame on you that you can't do anything about this Apart from that, everything else is almost good about this venue.

Positive experience: Had a great aqua session. Pool was warmish, Pat the instructor still going strong (thanks Pat). Could do with a few more staff on reception though, it took 9 minutes to be served!!!
