Fantastic experience: I went and it eas amazing

Negative experience: My experience here is very disappointing. Very disappointed and feeling bad for the facility my son was 4 years old and he was not getting enough attention on the swimming lessons. It was raised to the supervisor and really wanted to change the current teacher and then they again told us to wait until another teachers gets availability. So we have decided to quit.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, always clean & superb facility!

Negative experience: You can be guaranteed that every time you need to take your children to the toilets or to get changed, there will be an old man in the change rooms spending the maximum possible time naked. This place really needs a kids/family changing area.

Fantastic experience: We had an 8th birthday party here and it was fantastic - the easiest kids party I've ever thrown! The kids had a blast in the whirl pool and on the slide. We were provided lollies, chips, sausage rolls & party pies, and poppers. I didn't have to set anything up nor clean anything up. It was great to be able to socialize properly for the entire party.

Negative experience: Fun for the kids, but all the equipment and pools are extremely outdated, broken and poorly maintained. surprisingly have to pay even not to swim, maybe the money can be used to update the play area.

Positive experience: This place really needs some money spending on it. It is tired, need cleaning up. Children play pool is good but often rubbish all over, leaves in the pool and the grass unmowed.

Positive experience: Old and gold. Great value for money, friendly staff and really good amenities and facilities. Go for it!

Positive experience: Great pool. Not busy the times have been. Their river rapids pool is amazing. Very expensive though for only 1 and a half pools. The pool was kind of dirty but not a lot.

Negative experience: I’m disappointed that the 50 metre pool and the toddlers pools are so dirty. I must admit that I’ve never swum in such a dirty public pool. Sides of the 50 metre pool are grubby, and the pools are swirling (toddler and kids area) with excess fresh leaves, old leaves now gone to mush and floating organic matter in the water. The 50 metre pool is almost as yukky I’m wondering if they have daily pool cleaning? It’s not a very nice experience. However on another note I must say that the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Drove 40 min as pool had a slide and kids area to get there and be told after that it doesn’t open until 3 in the afternoon. Bit of a let down. In this hot season you would think the kids area would be open earlier.

Positive experience: Pleasant place to have a kids party. Mattin under the trees to stop feet getting muddy and dirt getting in every where would be an improvement

Negative experience: I took my two young children for a swim at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre today and was shocked by how dirty the pool was. The water was full of leaves and sticks and there were bird droppings along the sides of the pool and in the water. I completely understand a few leaves falling into the pool but they were everywhere. The bottom of the the pool was covered with leaves. I hope my children don’t get sick. We won’t be going back.

Negative experience: I went here today for the first time in ages. I know we have had bad weather recently but the pools were filthy with debris. I actually felt unhygienic so after a bit we left to go to Sleeman sports complex. It's the same price, has an awesome cafe and it's all indoors with clean change rooms. Cleveland needs a complete refurbishment.

Positive experience: ussually my husban takes my kids to swimming lesson, but he is out of town and didnt want to let the little ones down, especially because he has down syndrom and swimming is one of the only things he enjoys. he began to have a panic attack in the water and the instructer was not whatching. disclamer i am in a wheelchair. i rolled into the water to save my little one and becasue i am in a wheelchair i just sank to the ground taking my little one with me. a brave man jumped in a saved us both and me and him are now seeing eachother and i have devorced my husbane. not happy with this place but i found true love.

Positive experience: Plenty of parking great coffee after swim workout

Fantastic experience: Great place. Needs a little TLC to some areas due to wear and tear/age.

Negative experience: English swimming trainer has terror behavior toward non-English kids. I see her behavior has some hidden motive.

Fantastic experience: Awesome pool!! Love the whirl pool !l it's like a mini version of calypso bay at wet and wild with a cool little cave and a great waterslide

Positive experience: Great water slides and tidal pool for the kids. Would be great if the cafe surged hot chips or sandwiches so dropping a star for not having lunch options.

Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely AWESOME time with our NDIS kids group at the kiddy pool. The looks on thier faces as they flew down the little waterslide was amazing. It was also much appreciated that there was a lifeguardon constant patrol,

Negative experience: The pools are clean hands down. My biggest issue is the constant swimming lessons that take up every lane but 2. I know kids need to learn not saying they don't at all. I just find it frustrating that casual lap swimmers have to squeeze into 2 lanes and this is every night. Plus it's very hard getting the right information, I've asked 4 staff members if swim school is on every night so I could work out the best afternoons to go and couldn't get a straight answer at all .one told me to come between 10am and 2.30 as thats the best time....great but I work during the day like most of the people that come in the afternoon, hence why I'm here in the afternoon. It's good that you have the swim school and squad but keep in mind there are people who enjoy doing laps and can only attend in the afternoon that eventually will stop going if there is little space to swim. I have heard a few people get frustrated with this. If you cant build another pool to house just the swimming lessons then maybe just turn it into a swim school only as you are pretty much using every lane anyway.

Negative experience: Had come previously come here for swimming lessons and had such a bad experienceI, I pulled my daughter out after 4 weeks. I brought my daughter back for a swim/play in their new kiddie area which is great, it’s clean and lifeguards we’re watching on but after 15 minutes we were told to leave because their hours have changed. Why couldn’t the lady at the front desk told me us before she took our money?!?!? Never again.

Negative experience: We arrived an hour before closing on a Sunday to be told they had already closed the kids section, and the other pool closes in 45 minutes. Despite this we were charged some $33 for entry - despite 2 of us not swimming and the pool closing early. Newmarket Pool on the northside is a better option, worth the extra drive. Friendly operators and they allow you to use the facilities until the advertised closing time. Also - my kids did swimming lessons here through school and HATED the teachers and experience.

Positive experience: Not enough lifesaver staff in kids pool area. Too big areas & only 1 stressed out staff. Whirlpool water is hot! 2 kids sick with bacterial infections & fever the day after swimming. Water under slide very deep so stay close to young kids that aren't strong swimmers. Very dated equipment rusting & not working well (drop buckets)The splash zone is cool & fun for littlies. No gazebos for families. Some shaded spots under trees.

Positive experience: Life guards on, good rules, peaceful, enjoyable place have been a few times and will continue to go.

Negative experience: One lady is always grumpy behind the counter and they charge adults that aren't using facilities to supervise kids.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service, helpful staff and fantastic facilities. My 7yr and 4yr old love this swim school!

Negative experience: Don’t bother with the group lessons for little kids , the capabilities of the children are mismatched . Too many in the groups . Spend the Money and go single private lessons . Coordinators are great but I fear they are being pressed by the parent company to chase the dollar

Negative experience: i don't really enjoy this swimming centre. I wish the swimming instructors could be in the pool helping the kids. Absolutely do not like how this swim school has outdoor pools, wish they had indoor pools instead. Why would they let children swim in the rain when it's a rainy day?! Absolutely disgraceful

Fantastic experience: i just joined to start using the 50m lap pool and for my son to swim in also the gym facility is sooo nice and private and they have cardio and weight sections which I’m loving. Highly reccomend the Cleveland aquatic centre for all gender and ages and families, Caters for all seasons even winter!.

Fantastic experience: Have been going for a swim at Cleveland Aquatic Centre for a while now and have just taken out a membership. It is a great, calm place to swim and the facilities are good. The pool is a nice temperature and I will be taking my grandkids to the kids pool when it reopens.

Negative experience: Our daughter had to stop training due a male coach being rude to her, they are now taking another 4 weeks at $34 a week from us because they want 4 weeks notice. Absolutely disgraceful organisation.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with how our lessons have been, our daughter under age 3 has been attending for almost 6 months. Unfortunately, she is struggling and does not particularly enjoy the lessons, whenever she would get some what upset the teacher would completely ignore us in class and focus on children who are already doing very well. Paying for a lesson to not learn anything or feel supported. We tried changing lessons times/days and also having other people in the family attend the lesson with her, non of the teachers were interested in actually helping.

Negative experience: My experience with this place is pretty bad. It started in Dec when the teacher keeps not turning up and unfortunately my son does not want go into water with the specific teacher. I asked for makeup lesson but the makeup lesson will wasted if we didn’t go into water due to the teacher is not available. During Christmas time, we were asked to sign of a suspension form, which the process to execute again is really poor. I signed off the first time, they didn’t process it and I noticed charge on my credit card. They couldn’t refund me but make up lesson in the new year! There wasn’t any new communication come out saying the class started again but a vigour email came out saying classes will be suspended due to Covid… yet I missed the whole Jan lessons and my credit card keeps getting charged. When I noticed the charge from them in Feb and ask for refund of unattended lessons. The answer is a firm no. I asked to cancel my account, the manager said there is a 30 days notice period I have to take up again yet I haven’t been charged more then 30days with unattended lesson. How well the customer service is. So arrogant and money greedy. will never go back again!!!

Fantastic experience: Just had the most wonderful experience with Peta the learn to swim co-ordinaries after having some very frustrating issues with trying to pause our sons swimming lessons over the winter. Peta sorted everything out and went the extra mile for us and made us feel valued as one of the Cleveland Aquatic swimming families. Without the help from Peta we may have started to look elsewhere for our swimming lessons. Thank you Peta you’re awesome!

Negative experience: We are grandparents who took our grandchildren to the Centre today - Jan31. The children’s pool and whirlpool was closed at midday. This meant that the many children with parents were forced into the 25m pool. They opened two lanes on the far left - away from the ramp and handrails. There was plenty of room for those doing laps. A group of us played in the lane next to the ramp. Staff attempted to move us on. I objected - nicely, and was greeted with, “ignorant bi@&h”. Apparently an older lady complained and left having kicked the possessions of one of the families present! Then some grandparents left with their grandchildren - no one was happy! Not the staff, not your older guests, not your families. You need to review this situation. I’m sure it has been brought about by staff shortages but it must be able to be managed with more care for all concerned.

Fantastic experience: Every week we go to the centre to watch our 4 year old have swimming lessons, my parents come along too, so its a great place to catch up and have a coffee, while seeing the swim coaches do their thing. If its the weekend and its a hot day, the water park is great for young kids and parent to cool down. We love the centre.

Fantastic experience: Wow I'm so impressed with a clean, tidy and some new replacement gym equipment, it's a must to see and try out. Well done Cleveland Aquatic Centre.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly and helpful. I attended the splish splash swimming classes (under 6 months) and now the Starfish swimming classes with my son and feel very comfortable that he is able to enjoy himself safely and also not get cold in the indoor swimming pool.

Fantastic experience: The kids play area might be a bit old school, but it's a bargain to keep toddlers occupied for a couple of hours. Hot tip: take something for the kids to float around the whirlpool on.

Positive experience: Cleveland pools we've attended a few kids parties and the area really cater for those parties that are best done outdoor with minimal cleaning and everyone has a day. Big thumbs up

Fantastic experience: Amazing facilities, the staff and swimming teachers/coaches here are unreal. Would highly recommend for swimming lessons or even for just a casual swim.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming as well as having highly skilled fitness instructors running aqua classes great for all fitness levels. I've found them extremely helpful with my rehab for my knee and are also a great support for my fitness goals. Highly recommended. Very happy member! Thanks All!

Positive experience: Food is pretty good for a pool the hot dog is the best, don't get a pie the are hard. The pool is awesome.

Negative experience: The amenities may have been done up and look nice but the pool is filthy with bits of leaves,bark and bugs floating in it and the water stank...needs cleaning badly and staff that care...Go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Staff are nice, but the pool is a relic of the past. Other places around Brisbane have much better facilities.

Negative experience: The water temp was freezing on Monday 03 May 2022 in the 25 meter pool but staff were indifferent again to request to check if the heater was on. Since no one was swimming in the 50 meter pool for the same reason, it's a wonder council bothers with keeping this facility open.

Positive experience: There is an indoor heated pool for children, this however is not wheelchair accessible as there are a series of steps that grant access. There is also an heated outdoor pool which is accessible for people who are disabled and also for general use. There is a large 50 metre pool for serious swimmers. In addition during summer there is an outdoor area that's available for children to play in with a hottub, a very small water slide and a torus (doughnut) shaped pool which has a current which swirls round and round. My young kids really enjoyed this place in the summer, Year Sevens and above will find it way too tame. Parking always seems to be an issue as there are only four disabled car parks and these are in heavy demand. The main car park also seems to be pretty full most of the time.

Negative experience: I don't agree with spectator getting charged full price to enter pool, advised reason insurance duty of care. So does that mean every kids that come for a swimming lesson requires a full price paid adult accompanying the child? I don't think this is fair and will canvass other pools and also legality of this policy. All for the kids to have a little swim.

Ideally a bit more shade and some fresh food options (like a simple sandwich, or a fruit salad) would be amazing. Fantastic experience: Place is super nice, the teacher are super friendly, my kids love it. Swimming teachers are great A++, definitely recommended!! Andrea thecoordinator is super lovely, she will make you feel super welcome. Definitely a place for the whole family:-).

Positive experience: Busy. Wave round pool a little dirty but expected with busy school holidays. 1 suggestion is for the lifeguard near the large slide to concentrate on the little patrons. Talking for ages to a older patron and not watching who you supposed to watch. Lady in her 40's was the lifeguard.

Positive experience: Lifeguards are to young for my liking. Spectators have to pay full price, why can't it be a little cheaper like many other swimming pools. Not enough seating in the kids swimming pools.

Negative experience: The pools are perfectly clean and really good but the only problem is. That me and my family went there and they said it would cost you $50 .I’m like “Wtf” and when we asked other people, they said it costs nothing to enter there. Only swimmers are paying not the visitors. I’m not happy at all. Just because of my skin colour they wants me to charge extra money! Don’t want to ever go there

Awsome to see so many kids training for swim squad tho Highly recomend swimming lessons from profesional, curtious staff members Great covered kids swim area, Clean facilities, friendly staff / lifeguards. Fantastic experience: A fantastic and friendly swimming centre with gym. The staff are lovely, the pools are great and all are included regardless of age, size or skill. Two outside pools are 25 m and 50 m with one indoor pool (not sure the size!). Lots of classes are on and they have plenty of clubs for people to join.

Fantastic experience: The water park is really good but you need to sort the shade out for the spectators area by the 25m pool. 3 umbrellas are completely ineffective unless it's 12pm and every person huddles together underneath it.
